My daughter checked this out from the library and she really liked it! I read it and thought it was a pretty cute book. It is different from what I have previously read about fairies and I thought the storyline was pretty good! I thought it was also a cute story about friendship. I would recommend it to young readers.
Read this at bedtime for my kid. She loved it and wants to find the rest of them.
I was worried, because of when it was written and the content, that it would feel very stereotypically gender Ed, but it didn't at all. Laurel and Fox love were really great characters.
Laurel was my favorite when I was a kid and I really like this book. As an adult I liked it for the descriptions of the magical beings. How they act what they do and where they live.
This book is one of the ones that got me into reading in the first place when I was 11. It's a magical story and a great book for little girls (and probably even boys--for there is a main boy character.) There is adventure, the illustrations are beautiful and the world the creatures lived in was so real to me. It played a big part on my imagination as a child and was also one of the books that started me on fantasy. I loved it!!
Loved these books when I was younger. I remember reading them all at camp. The "more to explore" section also makes it a great summer book for young readers.
Borrowed this from my niece solely because it had my name on it. A cute story, appropriate for my niece's age (10 years old), and sure to appeal to other preteens into fairies and adventures.
