"Soul of the Wolf" by Karen Whiddon. In Ft. Worth a task force is formed to stop a serial killer.
Linda Winstead Jones is the bestselling author of more than eighty romance novels and novellas across several sub-genres. She’s easily distracted (Look! A squirrel!) and writes the stories that speak to her in the moment. Paranormal. Romantic Suspense. Twisted Fairy Tales. Cowboys. Her books are for readers who want to escape from reality for a while, who don’t mind the occasional trip into another world for a laugh, a chill, the occasional heartwarming tear. Where will we go next?
The first story is Forever Mine and the h accidentally kills her obsessive boyfriend and his ghost keeps haunting her, enter the H who is a psychic and comes to help her. Turns out they are replaying an old love triangle and this time they finally get rid of the obsessive third.
Haunt Me is an out of body experience story, the H and h are having marital woes, he is spontaneous and she isn't, he gets in a bad wreck avoiding some kids in a crosswalk and winds up in a coma. He finds out there is some evil entity stalking near death patients in the hospital and he finds out how much his wife really loves him. They defeat the evil entity and he wakes up from his coma appreciating his wife a lot more.
The last one, Soul of the Wolf is a shifter story about a serial killer hunting werewolves, the H is an FBI agent werewolf and the h is a cop whose ex BF was one of the victims. They work together to solve the case and find out they are soul mates along the way. It was the weakest story of the three, Whiddon needs more space to fully develop her characters and she just did not have it here. Overall the anthology is good, just enough paranormal to hold your interest and the romance is nice too.

I rated this on "Soul of the Wolf" only as its the only book I completed and enjoyed. I am finally getting around to reading "The Pack" series. Some are better than others, but certainly a worthwhile endeavour!
All three stories by these talented authors were so much fun to read. They have a paranormal element, but each one is completely different from the other. I enjoyed them all equally.
Forever Mine - Linda Winstead-Jones. Enjoyed this one more than I would have expected, since it involves psychics and reincarnated past lives and things I don't ususlly get in to. Pretty creepy, too, to have a ghost stalker.
Haunt Me - Evelyn Vaughn. Well, this reminded me of the movie "Ghost" with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. A young, married couple are separated by the untimely death of the husband, Dave, in a car accident, and Dave wanders the hospital helping other souls and trying to communicate with his grieving wife who weeps over his comatose body. Interspersed throughout the story are poignant flashbacks of the couple's life, as well as long passages from their favorite novel, Wuthering Heights.
Soul of the Wolf - Karen Whiddon. Hands down the best story in this anthology, deserving at least 4 stars. The story centers around a police investigation into a serial killer who apparently is stalking the town's werewolves. Amanda is a cop on the task force, and her ex-boyfriend just became victim #4, which occured soon after he shifted in front of her. FBI agent Nick Templeton arrives to assist, pursuing the very personal issues that said dead boyfriend is his cousin and he, too, is a shifter. The tension between Amanda and Nick is palpable, and the romance sweet, despite gritty feel of a murder investigation. Enjoyed this one immensely and I'll definitely look forward to more of Whiddon's Pack series.
Forever Mine - Linda Winstead-Jones Trite and annoying. I was just about to give up on it when I realized it only had five pages to go. Thank God. At less than 100 pages, there was no chance to flesh out the characters or give you any kind of feeling for them. Very predictable story.
Haunt Me - Evelyn Vaughn I didn't like the characters at all. The heroine is a total ice princess without emotions. On the other hand, David was a real hero. Giving his life to protect a few kids. The whole ghost thing was tedious and irritating. A very morbid tale of ghosts and dead people at the hospital and the monster...yuk!
Soul of the Wolf - Karen Whiddon I loved this one! Karen Whiddon writes very romantic suspenseful stories of The Pack. I really like Nick Templeton and once Amanda came around, she was a great heroine. I always enjoy the heroine who doesn't immediately fall at the heroes feet.
