Daliah is the tale of two lonely souls on their way to begin afresh.

I appreciate the faith element and how clean the romance was. I also liked how ready Spencer was to defend and protect his loved ones. Certainly a commendable trait. Daliah's salves were interesting and I am going to research the ingredients, as such remedies fascinate me. The Hamptons were a cute old couple as well, and it was clever how the town received its name.

There are no content issues. Regarding violence, a woman is accused of theft, gambling is mentioned and not condoned, a main character orders beer, but we're never told he actually drinks it, a wildfire threatens lives, and there are minor injuries along the trail. A bank robbery and its victim are also mentioned. Nothing is gratuitous. The romance, as I said, is clean.

The continuous head-hopping and lack of commas created, for me, a jolting reading experience at times.

This is a clean book and one I can safely recommend to readers thirteen and older.

This was my first encounter with the author Danni Roan and although I thought the book was good I just wasn't fully in love with it. I really did think the story was well written but somehow I just didn't feel any connection to the characters Daliah and Spencer. I felt like the story was slow moving in some parts and focused so much on the wagon trail part that the relationship between them moved sort of fast and didn't truly develop. That being said I am not basing my opinion on this book on the authors writing. I will definitely be seeking out another one of her books and giving it a try to see if maybe I was just in a reading funk. I know we all get those.

All opinions are my own and if you like Christian Fiction and clean reads then this book is definitely something you should pick up! If this is not your genre definitely walk away from it.

If you have read any of her books and can recommend another one I am all ears! Thank you!!

Happy Reading!

Daliah Owens is a young woman who has no family left. First her parents passed away and then her brother. He was her rock. She obtained the job he had in a bank as a teller as a means to support herself. She was boarding with an older husband and wife. They were like a second family to her. Then her world fell apart again. Unfairly accused of stealing from her job, she was let go. The couple she boarded with decided to see Texas and asked her to go with to start over. What else can she do but go?
Spencer Gaines a widower with a young child has spent the last few years running from place to place trying to forget
his wife and situation. He finally agrees to join his younger brother in Texas. He agrees to bring a wagon train of people with to the struggling little town with no name. He is immediately drawn to Daliah, but struggles with that, due to the fact he no longer wants to let anyone get close to him ever!
Along the trail to Texas many things draw them together, including his young son Chad. Can he escape his attraction? Does Daliah want his attention?
Danni Roan's characters are so intuitive and they reach out and pull you into the story quickly. This is a wonderful Wagon Train story. You will enjoy it from beginning and not want it to end. A great start to a new series and I am looking forward to the next book!
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.

Daliah A Needful Bride is book one in the Brides of Needful Texas series by Danni Roan. I enjoyed the beginning of the book. The pace was good, and I instantly liked the heroine Daliah Owens. However, the pace began to slow with the journey to Texas. And I kept waiting for a villain to appear - anything to build the tension of the story. And though a villain does appear, it’s not until the end of the book. I also longed for more descriptive passages - of setting and of the individual characters. I did enjoy seeing the hero Spencer Gaines change from harsh to kind. Overall it is a good story with some weaknesses. I won a copy of this book.

Daliah and Spencer 💞

Daliah lost her parents and then her brother, but was able to stay with a nice older couple in town named Mr and Mrs Hampton. She had a job at the bank, but was accused of pilfering the money from her till. Not too long after she was fired, a plan had formulated between the Hamptons and some other town folk to start a wagon train down to Texas.

Spencer Gaines is leading the train. He's a gruff natured man with a young and rowdy son named Chad. Spencer's wife died a couple years ago, but he has no desire to have another woman in his life. Then he meets Daliah and his heart has a mind of its own.

Sweet story and I enjoyed the wagon train adventures. It was a little confusing with some names that had gotten switched around in the early part of the trip, but soon after, apparently the editing had improved. For anyone who hasn't read this yet - Aida is really Alice, and Terry is Trey.

Looking forward to the next book in the series!

Migration of an Ever Expanding Group to Needful, Texas

This book is a fictionalized account of the founding of Needful, Texas. A young bank teller was accused of stealing money from deposits in the bank. Rather than being arrested and imprisoned for a crime she did not commit, she and several members of the town set out for Texas and became a community while traveling by wagon train to Texas. In traveling by wagon train, there are always opportunities for danger and the travelers learned to work together, cooperatively. As is usually the outcome in these stories everything worked out.

Read this book to to learn the details. I enjoyed the book, did not put it down until I finished, and found the conclusion to be satisfactory.

This story has very little complexity; it's a clean story about a wagon train going to Texas. It begins with Daliah losing her job at the local bank for two shortages in one month. Having no family left, Daliah decides to leave town and travel to Texas with her landlords. Spencer Gaines is the wagon master and has a small child. He's at a difficult time in his life because he hasn't resolved his feelings about losing his wife and has been moving endlessly. Now, he's decided to go to Texas and join his brother in a cattle/ranch venture. There are problems and difficulties on the trip that stress everyone. As they get closer to their destination, hope starts to increase.

This is just a simple story; the author needs the help of a proofreader -- badly.

A fun and clean read.

Deliah became an orphan at 15 depending on her older brother to care for her. Her brother is killed in a ceasefire which then left her all alone. The Hampton family took her in and have treated her like a daughter. Finally at age 20 she has a job in the local bank only to be falsely accused of robbery and fired. She has no where to turn when the Hampton's invite her to travel to Texas with them by wagon train. Spencer is a single father, bitter with God over losing his wife. He decided to take his son and head to his brother's place in Texas, helping assemble a wagon train for this trip. His hard heart gradually softens as he witnesses the young lady that he learns of her many hardships yet is so helpful to others.

Daliah Owens is innocent when she is accused of stealing from the till at the bank. After her manager fires her, she travels to Texas by wagon trail to pursues another path in life. Her expertise in herbal remedies quickly gets her known as an essential healer.

Spencer lost his wife and has been bitter since. Will a tragedy get the best of him, or will he put his faith in God and soften toward Daliah’s sentiments for him?

This is a beautiful tale to take you away from the busy, chaotic world. It is laden with struggles, lessons to trust God when all else fails as well as intrigue and romance.

Daliah needs to leave a town where her reputaion was in shreds because of a false claim. Accompanying her landlords on a wagon train to Texas provides the opportunity for a new start. Widower Spencer gathers folks from Missouri to develope a new town in TX where his brother has a ranch. These two lonely souls make a connection. The story provided an ineresting plot. But the author shouldn't have relied on her own proofreading skills because a paid editor would never have missed all the spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes that kept pulling me out of the story.

2.5 ⭐️ The book was fine. Didn’t really keep my attention. For me, it would have been better if it would have put more thought into developing the main characters romance story. I think it was kind of look over. Not a lot of details and just general information about their story. There was no dept in their love. They just one day were interested in each other. And they were just one day in love with each other. It had so much potential but i feel like i was left hanging. Still not a bad book. I was able to finish it without to much difficulty.

Needful of an editor

Cute story, although largely predictable until things took a turn at the end there. My hand was itching to grab my red pen throughout the book. If this had been a hard copy edition, I might have done some marking for sure. There were far too many misplaced commas, run on sentences, fragments, and awkwardly worded sentences. I was hardly surprised when she opened a "vile" of medicine.

"Daliah", first in 'The Brides of Needful, Texas' series tells a simple story fairly well.
A young woman, 20, alone in the world, joins a wagon train to Texas.
Along the way she discovers a talent for healing and finds a husband.
It's all very nice and bored the hell out of me - too much God and not enough depth to the story.
It could have done with a tighter edit.
Definitely not my cup of tea.

Lovely 😍

Even in the darkest moments God can answer prayer and make a road in front of our eyes.
Daliah lost her parents and later her only brother, with her faith strong, and trusting God, she found an old couple, the Hamilton, that welcome her into their lives as a daughter; and the journey of her life begins.
Find out what happened to Daliah and what a blessing she is to others.
Good reading.

I enjoyed reading about the characters in this book and their experiences. However I was a little confused as partway through, the older couple's names seemed to keep changing from Hampton to Hamilton and back again. And about halfway through my copy, it jumps forward to a scene from after they are in Texas, then returns to the next chapter. So that was a little confusing. The writing is good otherwise and I will read more by this author.

I enjoyed this story. Yes, there were a few small issues, but not enough to distract from the story. I love the little town of Needful. My dad's mom would pronounce my mom's sister's name as Daliah instead of Dalia. I had never heard Daliah before. So, I thought of that a lot. It was nice to see how this town got it's start.

This Christian clean romance was enjoyable. The romance between Daliah and Spencer developed at a slow pace which was fine because it felt authentic for this time period. I'm a bit surprised that the problem at the beginning of the book took as long as it did to become a thorn in her paw but am pleased with how it was resolved.

It was the first time to read a book from this author. Sweet story and it moved along quickly. I enjoyed the journey on the wagon train. Mostly straightforward, a little confusing in places (don't want to say where to avoid spoilers). Memorable characters and some terrific descriptions throughout. Looking forward to reading more in the series!

The author did a wonderful job of pulling me into the book and characters. She has a way of making a person feel warm and fuzzy inside while reading this book. I would recommend this book to any western historical romance reader.

Daliah

It's sad the value some people put on other people lives. Its ok to falsely accuse someone who you believe of little or no worth. Daliah was falsely accused and couldn't prove her innocence.

Cute

Thoroughly enjoyed this sweet story about a wrongfully accused young lady who goes west and finds love with a cranky man and a mischievous son. I smiled several times throughout the story about the young child’s antics.

She got dismissed from the Bank for something she didn't do

The couple she boarded from invited her to go on a wagon train with them. I liked the way the story put the two of them together and how it ended.

Delightful Romance

I enjoyed this sweet romance about a bank teller let go because of missing money. This is the start of a series about a town in Texas called Needful. I enjoyed the characters and can see several being staples in future books. A good read.
