Rate this book
Centered on Northern Britain, this work ranges widely, calling on the battle poetry of the Cymry, the annals of the Irish, and the art of the Anglo-Saxons to enhance and enlarge its themes. It interweaves history and archaeology to create a picture of the period.

This book is not an easy read, but you will get all the information you could ever want about the Celts out of it, from politics, geography, weather conditions, trade goods and routes, weaponry and war and more. He even tells you how long it would take an army to move certain distances and details like what different colors of ink were made from. This book is a must read for anyone researching the life of the Celts. Thanks to Oxford professor Jonathan Jarrett for recommending it!
