Exquisite picture book bright bold colors featuring lots of bright golden yellow tones in every illustration. Five black spirituals accompany the illustrations.
A very appropriate one verse of biblical scripture is included for the various segments of the nativity. Definitely a title for inclusion on the read it every Christmas list.

This one has mostly music, a scripture verse for each of the 5 spirituals and beautiful illustrations. We listened to YouTube videos for each song since it was bedtime and I couldn't sing them properly. Other than Go Tell It On The Mountain which we sing every year in church around Christmas, the others were new to me.

Feel like this is a simple Christmas program in a book, especially if you could share the beautiful illustrations.

There is a short Bible verse or two and then a song, repeat through the whole story from prophecy to Mary having a baby to shepherds and kings.

I am reading some of the longtime guests on my to-read list. Just as with anything done by John Langstaff, this is marvelous and I wish to own it so that the songs and music can be part of my music library.
