Alhamdulillah, selesai baca.
Buku ini setebal 160 muka surat terbahagi kepada 6 bab iaitu exploring senses, coordinations, art and crafts, games and movement, language and stories dan out and about.
Wallahualam.
I would divide the ideas in this book into three categories: *Pshaw ... I could have thought of that or I used to play that as a kid *Meh ... That could be fun or it could be boring. *Wowza ... What a fun/cool idea! I can't wait until my baby is older than 2 months so I can try that.
It's not much text and easy to flip through in an evening.
This was another excellent resource for specific activities to do with your child. I should warn you, it says there are activities for babies, but in reality it's for children that are a year or more. She gives a nice little timeline and description of the development you can expect for each year of the child's life up until about four years. The ideas are more Montessori-inspired than they are strictly Montessori, but they are fun and easy to put together and execute. Plus, I'm not so tied to the Montessori Method that I won't consider modifications.
The Quick & Easy Review: This book is great. Grab it at the library if you want to take a spin through it, but I’d highly recommend just grabbing an inexpensive used copy from Amazon. It’ll be one of the best $1 purchase you’ve made in a long time. (Talk about a great “Montessori dollar menu” item!)
A neat little book of activities and ideas. Some are pretty common, like "I Spy," but I'd forgotten about many of these activities and this book serves as a nice reference. My favorites: "Advanced Target Ball" and "Sticky the Squirrel."
I didn't care for the lay-out of this book and none of the activities were new (or all that interesting) to me. Although, when we give Odin a cup made of glass to drink his milk out of at dinner, we call it "going Montessori" so what do I know?
Good games and I’m not sure why I didn’t get into it more — maybe it was the graphics/layout, or maybe it’s just reading versus seeing games being demonstrated, not a fault of the book itself? Regardless had a hard time getting into it even though the material is what I was after.
This book is literally the opposite of my parenting philosophy: parent-directed learning, learning artificial things we are told are important to know rather than about the real life you live....
