Luck knew two things when he left Harem Station months ago.
One. The silver-haired Cygnian Princess Nyleena was still safely frozen away in her cryopod. And two. There was a good chance she was his soul mate.
He left anyway.
Nyleena is what you might call feisty. Or sassy. Or maybe just… feral. She is wild. Much too wild for Luck’s taste. But now that he’s home there’s no way to deny it.
Like it or not, she is his.
Lucky for him, all Cygnian Princesses have one true weakness. They cannot resist cooking up crazy plans to tackle unsolvable problems. And he’s going to use that irresistible urge to tame her savage spirit.
Nyleena has plans of her own and none of them involve Luck. She is out for blood. All the people who made her life hell will be dealt with, and she’s going to find every single one of them and take them out.
Right after she solves this one last unsolvable problem…
How not to fall in love with your soul mate.
Lady Luck is a sexy, hate-f**k of a story about a wild, savage princess, six hot brothers trying to tame her, bad relationship advice from killer sexbots, your favorite evil, but misunderstood, dragonbee bot, and a repentant AI trapped in a sex prison with a succubus.
KC Cross is the Sci-Fi Romance pen name of New York Times bestselling author, JA Huss and Lady Luck is the fourth book in the Harem Station series.
The following ratings are out of 5: Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙 Romance: 💙💚💜🤎❤️ Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔 World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎 Character development: 🫢😤😡😊🥰
The heroine:Nyleena - a silver Cygnian Princess, who is a literal bomb, created to take out planets. Her and all the silver and pink Cygnian Princesses were genetically altered to blow up under certain conditions. Her fated mate is Luck, whom she hates.
The Hero:Luck - Luck is an Akeelian male which means he has purple eyes and not one, but two huge, fat, f’ing spectacular parts of his anatomy that women seem to really love. He and his seven friends escaped when they were young and ended up on Harem Station which was abandoned and run by an A.I. called ALCOR.
The Story: Luck and Nyleena know they are fated mates, but they hate each other. Both of them think they hate each other because the other is mean. However, they rub each other the wrong way whenever they are together and so end up being mean to each other. However, because they are mates and are utterly attracted to each other and can’t stop thinking about each other unless they hook up at least once a day, so they have regularly scheduled daily meetings meet their needs.
Nyleena is unbelievably bored on Harem Station and is a bit crazy. She does zany things which break the laws of Harem Station and get her into trouble out of boredom. Luck is tasked with getting her to calm down a bit. He knows that Cygnian Princesses are schemers and can’t resist a challenge so he subversively challenges her to get a job. She decides she wants her own sentient ship and wants to go out into the world on her own.
These Harem Station alien romance books are so good. They have complex plots and must be read in order. They also have some terrific aliens, technology and are super steamy. There are things like auto shoppers, auto cookers, bots that do all kinds of things around the station, spin nodes and more. Not only do the Akeelian males have an amazing anatomy, but the Cygnian Princesses have this luminous flux that builds up and bursts free, lighting them up when they orgasm.
In this book Nyleena is scheming to get her own ship and to do that she has to get some information for someone. She finds that to get that information, she has to do a favor for someone else, and to do that she has to do a favor for another person and so on. Pretty soon she is scheming to do all these favors in order to eventually get what she wants. There are so many great secondary characters in this and some plots that go from one book to the next.
This book is told in alternating points of view in dual narration by Jacob Morgan and Emma Wilder. In dual narration, a male narrator reads the chapters written from the male perspective and does all the voices in those chapters (both male and female), and vice versa. I like Duet narration bette where the male does all the male parts and female does the female parts. Though I was happy with this.
The one thing I didn’t really like about this book was that it was quite a while ago that I read the last book in this series and I was lost more than once. I didn’t remember anything about the Succubus A.I. which is mentioned more than once, what happened with Vaila, the difference between the real ALCOR and the A-hole ALCOR who is in the pleasure prison and a few other things. Like why these seven friends and their women are all hiding things from each other.
This book leaves us with even more question but with a bit more of an understanding of how or why the things that are happening to. And the purpose of the Princess and their colors are starting to make more sense too.
The relationship between Princess Nyleena and Luck reminded me of a song called Beautiful Crazy by Luke Combs. Luck is driven crazy for her and it’s a hate, hate relationship for a long time because she can’t and won’t let go, she also doesn’t trust anyone. He thinks she is mean and she is insane, unpredictable which again she is, and arrogant haha which again she is. But hey she has pretty hair! LMAO. Where the song comes in is once he realizes his feelings well he loves her beautiful crazy and as we learn she is crazy and insane, and, and, and lol. But all of that makes up who she is. I love how she loves; it’s not easy for her so when she does she loves with her whole heart.
I do love that Luck can find something positive in it all. The way they open up to each other is beautiful because they both had to give to let it happen. I love that books like these are not so cut and dry. We see the struggle the emotions and then how it evolves.
I am sucked into this world and I can’t wait for more. I am waiting with bated breath seriously the way this one ends!!! AHHHH
People laugh at me when I tell them I'm going to go read me some alien romance. But you know what? When you get a book by JC Kross aka JA Huss writing up this stuff - you're hooked. It doesn't make sense. It's absolutely far out. But I'm 100% invested on finding out what's to come with the Harem Station, the Akeelian men and the Cygnian princesses because it only gets better each time.
Another amazing read in this series that had me hooked. Nyleena and Luck’s love/hate relationship will have you glued too your kindle. With secrets revealed and Nyleena & Luck growing closer this book will have you reading non stop. I absolutely love these characters and I love trying too figure out what is going too happen next. Truly another 5 star read that’s out of this world.
Oh my goodness, my head is spinning, in a good way, just so much happened in this book and the number of unanswered questions is growing with each book!
Luck & Nyleena were such an entertaining couple . I enjoyed the scavenger hunt that Nyleena found her self on, although it turned out to be so much more than she was expecting.
I felt bad for Luck, everything changed for him, he not only lost Beauty but then Valor basically abandoned him with no real explanation.
I loved being back on Harem station with all the brothers, after being away for Jimmy & Delphi’s story.
Everyone is keeping secrets, they all have their own schemes & agendas & I can’t wait to see how this all plays out.
I don’t always follow the “science” aspect of the story but it doesn’t detract from the overall read.
I’ve really enjoyed all the couples journeys but Luck & Nyleena’s has been my favourite so far
This series just keeps getting better and better!! This time around we have the feisty silver princess Nyleena who happens to be soulmates with Luck. But they can't really stand each other, she's too wild and feral for his tastes. And she doesn't really like most people. They can't seem to stay away from each other since they are soulmates and they have urges that need to be satisfied.
Being a Cygnian princess, Nyleena loves to solve problems and if she hears the word "scheme" she can't resist getting involved. And boy, is there a shit ton of scheming going on in this book! It starts when Luck tries to distract her from her master plan of leaving Harem Station, and it snowballs from there. Next thing you know, Nyleena is on a huge scavenger hunt to get information for just about everyone she's personally involved with.
I swear I don't know how Julie keeps all the twists and turns in this series straight! With each book in the series I read, I come up with a whole list of questions, and some get answered in the next book, but some have still been sitting out there, waiting to be anwered. And as each story unfolds, Julie gives us a little more information on what exactly these princesses are capable of. And just how crazy some of the characters are, and those characters aren't even human!
Julie has created quite a complex world within a world here on Harem Station (and off it). I don't know much about other science fiction series since this is the first one I've read, but man am I enjoying this!! What I wouldn't give to have an AutoCooker and an AutoShopper, and maybe a couple of those servo-bots to clean the house... Anyway, back to the story! Things are ramping up on Harem Station, and the ending of this installment left me saying, "Oh no she didn't!" And I'm not even going to give you a clue as to who the "she" might be...
I am so excited for the next book to see if I've guessed anything correctly, or more than likely I don't know what the hell I'm talking about and I need to leave the plotting to the professionals! Julie is seriously kicking ass with this series!
Received ARC from Author for Honest Review! I Give this Book a 4.5/5 Star Rating, listing as 4.
I need more! This series just keeps getting better and better, and I’m craving ALCOR’s book by every read! I love how I get surprised by new developments & twists that I never saw coming, this is a very unique alien series and I’m so looking forward to book 2!
This series is getting better and better. I loved how all of these characters are unique and so out of the box. Nyleena and Luck were a real good haters to lovers story. What a cliffy! Im so eager to see how things are going to be revealed in the next book.
Myleena is one real pain in the ass and I dont know why the author thinks she is the best princess out of those in the series. At times felt that luck and her were just a pair of teenagers fighting with each other. Story didn’t really start making sense till 50% through. Different kind if sci-fi read.
Ok, so I’ve really enjoyed this series thus far, but this book was hard to get through. The first 2/3 of the book were repetitive. Nyleena and Luck complained about the same things over and over and over and over with no advancement in the storyline until the last third of the book. I only continued so that I could get to Tray’s book.
Just reading the blurb to Lady Luck had me excited to get stuck right into Luck’s story. This book was so much better than I even expected (but who am I kidding, all JA Huss/KC Cross books are amazing). There was so much information, I’m still trying to get my head around it, a lot of hilarious moments that I couldn’t stop laughing at and some really great interactions between Luck and Nyleena. These two are easily one of my favourite book couples, there was just so much about them that I loved (I mean what wasn’t to love!). All their hate-fks and make ups (everything that led them together) were written so well as well as the rest of the book with all the interactions with the other characters. I absolutely loved Luck and Nyleena together, I loved the fiery side they both had and when they faced each other with those sides things just exploded and I absolutely loved it. I loved the way their relationship grew throughout the entire book (I did miss their hate-fks just a tiny bit by the end). I really enjoyed all the scheming Nyleena did (and that huge MIND-BLOWN moment towards the end had me excited to know more), it was very entertaining to read about and was a definite page turner for the whole book for me. I loved getting a-hole ALCOR’s chapter and getting inside his head too. All the other characters have grown so much as well and I can’t wait for more. There was suspense and a whole lot of new information in this story that I never saw coming and I am beyond excited to see what happens in the next book, I need more answers!
Omg, so I do love me some space-opera romance and bought book 1 with that in mind... Honestly the way the author intertwined her plots and characters... I am nothing short of amazed. It felt a little superficial and silly at first, but keep reading!!! Each book is better than the last. I need to know WTF is going on!!
I am a reader who can always pick plot twists and anticipate outcomes but with this series, no idea! And I'm loving it. I'm loving it so much I have not done my standard and read ahead to solve the mystery, just so I can go to sleep.
This is exceptional storytelling. It's the first series i read by this author, despite always buying her books. I can't wait to catch up all all her other novels.
I honestly thought I've read so many books that I could never find another ultimate favourite author. Not so. J AHuss/KC Cross you have blown me away. I cannot wait to find out what on HAREM is going on here in these stories. Thank you for sharing your talent with this humble reader. Xxx
This book was so disappointing after the previous ones. The whole scavenger hunt concept is interesting but the characters were just not connectable.
I mean it's a great literary device to kind of stretch out your content and do that divulging of bread crumbs which are going to want you to read the next book, but I felt like there could have been a little bit more here. The book got much better than the last quarter but there was a lot of part of it where it was just, well boring. Contrasted to the absolute humor and moments of emotional torment that the previous book had, this was a real let down for me.
Female narration was good. BUT the male narrator was obviously the wrong choice. There were points where I was like talk about phoning it in. He was just reading it like a script with no emotion. Then you could tell in other parts which were recorded at a later date there was more enthusiasm and interest in the character. But it left the whole experience kind of at the point where I was ready to put it in double speed just to get through it. And that sucks.
This book is where it starts to get obvious that you're only getting part of the story and that it's highly probable nothing is as it seems. Beyond that though, this book could be summed up easily as Nyleena goes on a scavenger hunt for information where each person will only give her what they know if she gets them information about something else. For the most part the descriptions are very good and make you feel like you might actually know what sci-fi mumbo jumbo actually means which is needed in this book as the techno babble gets kicked up a notch. A word of warning if you're listening to this audiobook drifting to sleep... don't. You'll wake up having zero clue what's going on as you actually need to focus on some parts to make sense of all the info dumps.
Throughout the series, KC Cross has built the world of Harem Station. She has not only built on the pages of the book, but in my mind. This has continued in Lady Luck and has only intensified. I found myself truly wishing I was there in the world that I can already see so clearly in my mind.
From hate-filled lust, to like, and beyond... you are fully immersed in a story of two people that you can’t stop caring about, rooting for, and loving!
In case anyone is doubting it or new to the world, this is graciously filled with the super sexy exploits that we love and anticipate KC Cross!!
I really was not a fan of Nyleena for the first portion of this book. I thought she was annoying and overly hot tempered. But she won me over in the end. Mostly due to Luck. He was so understanding and patient (in his own way) with her. They complimented each other so well.
All the scheming, up until the end, had me cross-eyed, but the last maybe fourth of the book had me on the edge of my seat. All the back and forth with no answers was getting to me but Julie twists it into a perfectly executed plan by the end of the book. So worth the confusion I felt at the beginning of the story.
4.5 I have to have a good story, and I understand this is all subjective. But I don't read erotica just for the juicy scenes, I need a good story. And this series has that in spades! As much as I hate cliffhangers and this books leaves us on one, I am not mad about this one. So this is a sorta enemies to lovers but more hate sex to love situation. The brothers know they are bound to find their destines mates with a princess, just who is part of the journey of the books. I love Luck! But really all of them. This station and the mysteries that are swirling is so interesting. I can't wait to get the next book in my hands!
*** Lady Luck is book four in the Harem Station series and it should be read according to order. This review may contain spoilers if you are not yet caught up in the series. ***
Luck and his predestined soul mate Princess Nyleena don't agree on much, except for maybe their daily scheduled sex meetings. And while he has been ordered to work at reigning in Nyleena's crazy antics, it's all Luck can do to just keep her from injuring him. Until he plants a little seed of doubt for his restless mate, and Nyleena starts a project all princesses can't resist... problem solving.
Cygnian Princess Nyleena is feeling pretty stifled in her new home. With only a few connections on board, and one of them being a soul mate she loves to hate, she is left feeling at a loss of what to do with herself. But with the offer of a ship of her own, and with it, endless possibilities for her future, Nyleena sets out on a fact finding mission that might just reveal too many secrets for a station the size of Harem to handle...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lady Luck was the ultra sexy and utterly intriguing next installment of the Harem Station series. Nyleena and Luck have nothing in common except their need for each others bodies, but when Nyleena sets out on a mission to find a way out of the Harem Station, Luck starts to realize just how much he really needs Nyleena in his life...
Nyleena is a feisty Silver princess, who is as rare as she is dangerous. With her need for Luck bringing them closer together, she refuses to give all of herself to a man who doesn't give her the respect she deserves. With a knack for problem solving and a whole lot of restless energy, she puts everything she has into figuring out the myriad of secrets being kept on the station.
Luck is a man who has searched the farthest and most dangerous of places in his quest for materials for the station. He definitely doesn't get along with Nyleena, she talks too much and loves to hurt him during sex, but when his need for her gets more and more frequent, Luck starts to discover things about Nyleena that no one has ever known.
Wow!! Things are getting more complex and dangerous for the residents of the Harem Station. With a few answers and many more questions than ever before, this elaborate story just keeps getting better and better!! Nyleena and Luck's hate sex fueled love story adds a whole new level to the intricate issues plaguing the Akeelian men and their Cygnian mates. This fascinating story will continue in the next book, Prison Princess, which is scheduled to release on August 19th.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
KC keeps us on the edge of our seat wondering what is happening.with all this scheming! Luck and Nyleena are perfect! Their secrets are enlightening and lead us to more questions. Of course this rabbit trail Nyleena has been following can get confusing at times, so her mental bullet listing is greatly appreciated! KC loves a good twisted plot and we definitely get that here! I love the unpredictability of her writing! So many unanswered questions that am glad to hear most will be answered in the next book!
Thank you to the author for an ARC of this. I think this one is my favorite of the series. So far, at least!
From page 1, I was pulled right in. It had a lot to do with Luck’s voice. I really enjoyed his chapters, and just his character overall. He was romantic with Nyleena even when she pushed him away. He got frustrated with her during all her annoying moments. I found all his reactions and emotions toward her appropriate in how he tried to get her to love him, but then he too was also human (as human as they are anyway) and reacted to her moments well.
I also enjoyed the story in this one more than the others. In the other books, we watch the couple find each other and then fall in love. This one, they already know each other, know who they are to one another, and still have sex regularily to meet the itch, without bringing feelings into any of it. Basically, what the other books build to, this one already does for the most part. The issue with Nyleena and Luck is that they’re not looking for a relationship. Later on, we see Luck considering how good it would be with her, but she refuses to think like that and uses all chances to push him away. There is no love, emotions, and feelings for much of it. Nyleena runs around the Station looking for ways to get her own sentient ship. This opens up all the doors for the end of the book. Which I will get to shortly. In the meantime, Luck tries to keep her out of trouble, which sparks fights, and thus hate-sex by the schedule. Or as the novel progresses, he is starting to feel things for her and convinces her of such, in which they fight, and hate sex occurs. See the theme?
But it’s okay, because I do promise a HEA for this couple. The other fantastic thing about this book is that it’s basically a turning point for the series. We learn a lot about the ongoing plot in this one thanks to Nyleena’s determination to get her way. Also, a lot more questions are opened up and the next book is set up. So I can’t wait for the next book to see this story unfold.
The one thing I wasn’t loving, was the ending. The Rebellion. I think I’m confused with what is happening and the sides that have been divided. I’m sure it’ll all come together eventually, so I won’t worry too much.
As feisty as our heroine, Nyleena is, this story unfolds even feistier! On the surface to everyone around her, Nyleena is a loose cannon. By the end of this book, you'll appreciate her in a totally different way! I loved her spunk, determination and intelligence in puzzle solving...all while keeping her wry sense of humor, especially with Luck! These two are equally hot, sexy and hilarious in their personal "game" to try and outwit and out-think one another! This story provides some of the answers to the ongoing mystery, and throws in a few more new twists and turns. I think we're going to need Nyleena's sleuthing and puzzle solving skills to untangle this crazy web!
The first book was pretty straightforward. Boy meets princess, they fall in love; explosively. Hints here and there, foreshadowing. I wondered if I could even like the MCs of this one. They were not likeable in the beginning. Through some really complicated scheming by practically everyone, we began to get the shape of the series. Oh. I did fall in love with the MCs by the middle of the tale
Luck and Nyleena—enemies, of a sort, to allies, of a sort, to true soulmate couple. Not an easy journey for them, even though it all takes place within a few short days (depending on how you count days after turning back time once or twice—yeah, that happens!). Strap in for a fun ride 💜
This book had my brain working double time trying to keep up with this silver princess and all the secrets she was hunting. I really hated Luck at first and then I started to swoon once he decided to embrace the whole soulmate idea. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
This one started out a little slower than the others for me and they are not my favorite of the couples but the story still drew me in and left me wanting more! Can’t wait to see what happens next!!
Great addition to a great series, with strange and wonderful new twists to SFR. I read all the time and sometimes have so much troublefinding new books to love I end up rereading old ones. This series was so who fearful I have not been able too pour it down
I listened to this in audio and it was fantastic!!! The chemistry between the main characters has been my favorite so far. I swooned so hard. Also the plot is top notch. This series is such a wild ass ride.
Lady Luck (Harem Station #3) is a sexy, love/hate read with a wild princess and her horny soulmate. There’s plenty of sex and suspense as enemy’s with benefits Luck and Princess Nyleena make it their mission to find answers to some pretty important questions whilst navigating the minefield that is their relationship. I loved it!
The titles of the first 2 books almost made me pass this series by. But, it is so good! So many twist and turns and awesome world building. So, glad I gave it a shot and this book is the most intriguing so far. I’m about to download the next one.
