Who doesn't love a Regency House Party? There's always a great mix of new characters and characters from previous books making cameo appearances. This one starts off with a wonderful scene between the handsome and charming Lord Bolton and the ever proper Miss Felicity Honeyfield. The odd encounter leads to some confusion in a couple of other scenes which made me smile as I wondered how Lord Bolton and Miss Felicity would handle it.
I found it humorous that Felicity needed to remind her chaperone, Mrs. Dotting, of her duties, and thought Miss Tittering's name fit her so well. 😊 When Felicity reminds herself that she belongs there as much as anyone, and is reminded not to bring up her mother, I was prepared to find out it might be something scandalous, and was surprised to find out it was something quite the opposite. I read quite a bit of Regency books and still find it odd that Society and the ton looked down on those who made their money through trade, as if it were obscene and those people were beneath them. I loved the fencing scene between Lord Bolton and the snooty Lord Ridgecrest. The author's description was great. I think more Regencies need fencing scenes. 😉
I think my favorite part was when Lord Bolton takes Lord Ridgecrest down a couple of pegs, and sings Felicity's praises at the dinner table. My heart swooned. *happy sigh* Felicity learns that respectability and honor are two different things. That the ton could revere someone without honor and that someone might have an impeccable reputation and not be entirely trustworthy.
This is a clean romance with just kisses. I received a complimentary copy and all thoughts expressed in this review are my own.

I thought the novella started out well--I liked the way they met and their interactions at the house party--but about 60% through, it seemed like the writing just wasn't as good. It felt more rushed and a couple of scenes struck me as odd (like the scene where Lady Honeyfield is having a treat with the housekeeper and another houseguest whom she has just met and is a little too open with her feelings). I still liked the romance and liked seeing Lady Felicity and Lord Bolton together, but the writing wasn't as polished. (I did read an ARC and there's a possibility that revisions were made before it went to publication, but it wasn't so much grammatical errors as it was the style not being as good, so I don't know if the author fixed that or not.)

Love in unexpected places (or people)
The house party was fun. It is the first so have read in this series. Felicity goes to the house party to win the hand of a family friend by the name of Ridgecrest. Lord Bolton goes to win the hand of Miss Tanning. But Lord Bolton and Lady Felicity meet outside the grounds before arriving to the house party under unusual circumstances. They becomes friends of sorts as they come to agreement on helping each other to make matches with those they are seeking. But they don’t anticipate having feelings for each other. Lord Bolton needs to refill the family coffers and Lady Felicity needs to make a match with a respectable gentleman that will help bring greater respectability to her family name. But can they accomplish this with a love match between themselves and if not is love worth it? This was a clean sweet read by an author that I enjoy.

Charmed by His Lordship is the first book in the Havencrest Regency House Party series I’ve read and I’m excited to read the others! This one was overall enjoyable. From the moment of Lady Felicity and Lord Bolton’s charming meeting, they have a wonderful connection. The only problem is: they’re both at the house party to make a match with someone else. They decide to form a friendship of sorts in order to help one another win over their desired match. The plan seems perfect, but what neither of them anticipates is developing feelings for the other.
I loved both the hero and heroine and thought their ‘not proper but not improper’ interactions were delightful. Lord Bolton was charming while remaining honorable, and Lady Felicity was really sweet. I thought the premise of them aiding one another’s courtship efforts was a fun one, but I felt it never realized its potential. While there were several instances where Lord Bolton helped Lady Felicity understand how to win over a man, she never helped him in his own quest. As the story went on, the love square became more tiresome, especially since I didn’t understand Lord Ridgecrest’s inconsistency and didn’t find Lady Felicity’s reasons for wanting a respectable match a strong enough motive to reject Lord Bolton. I’d have liked to have seen more development in order to realize the plot’s potential.
Despite this, the characters were charming and their romance cute, so overall it was an enjoyable read.

I love the way Felicity Honora and Abraham met. Highly improper. ;) The friendship they started was beautiful and I love how they "helped" each other while growing closer together. I'm grateful they both finally listened to their hearts. Sweet, fun Regency story.

I will not summarize this story because that information is already given in the description of this book and I do not want to give more of the plot away.
What I liked:
• The author caught my attention right from the beginning and drew me into the story's inner workings.
• Abraham and Felicity were very likeable characters and thoroughly developed. Their banter was witty and fun.
• Felicity's and Abraham's romance developed slowly and was believable. It grew out of their interactions at the house party as they tried to navigate the matchmaking scene.
• The supporting cast of characters added dimension to the story. They were very well fleshed out and they played active roles in this book.
• The pacing of this story was good. Not too fast nor too slow. There was a smooth, coherent flow to this book.
• My favorite part of the story? All of it.
• There was a lot of social action in this story. Some of the action was predictable and some not.
• The descriptions of locations and emotions were well done and easy to visualize and to feel. I felt a part of the scenes.
• The story was well edited with just a few minor mistakes that did not interfere with story comprehension.
• This was a clean read and I appreciate that. I believe it is harder to write a good, clean story than it is to write one full of swearing and sex.
If you like a witty and funny Regency romance, you will enjoy this one.

This was such a wonderful story! I love how this group of authors is writing different stories for different characters at this house party. It’s fun to get to see glimpses of the other characters you’ve already read about. And each story is so different and original! I loved the second guessing, friendship, self-realization, and other traits I saw in the characters. The love story was sweet and clean. I love the happy ending! Great story all around!

Jen Geigle Johnson paints characters that stick with you. Who could forget Mrs. Garvey and her penny-pinching ways, Mrs. Daw and her comfortable kitchen and the rest of the mismatched house party guests? This book brings us a most unusual young lady, Lady Honeyfield, a kind but desperate gentleman, Lord Bolton, a less than attentive chaperone, Mrs. Dotting, and other guest whose true colors will come out. I totally enjoyed this story and look forward to more.

Abraham and Felicity Honora, not improper
I loved that Felicity struggled with knowing what was proper and improper, even though she clearly wished to act properly. She had to decide what was most important in life, as many people do. I loved that Abraham was flirty and funny, but absolutely honorable. I giggled at the stories Felicity told. She was certainly clever and her tales were funny and preposterous. Such a great fun couple. And I loved the name Miss Margaret Tittering! It fit her so well.

I enjoyed this story. The opening scene was a very fun start that clearly showed the personalities of the main characters. I enjoyed the banter between Felicity and Abraham from the start. I was amused by them and their dedication to marrying the right person and promising to help each other obtain their goal. It seemed that every time Felicity promised herself to avoid Abraham she was drawn to him like a magnet. Loved them together.

I loved reading this book! Both parties were trying to romance the wrong party but found each other. They found their HEA. I recommend this book to anyone who loves clean books!

This is a clean read, with a happy ending. The parts I thoroughly enjoyed were the interactions between the two main characters - particularly the hero & his internal dialogues. I like how at first they didn’t quite get along, but soon developed a lovely friendship. The parts where they’re interacting with each other, I thoroughly enjoyed.
I generally love reading books by this author, her other books are amazing & so interesting as they feature historical events & make it come alive for me. This story is of a completely different genre & of course, being part of a series would have to follow specific guidelines I suppose - being such a short novel as well, this is a fast moving story, so the main characters weren’t as completely developed in my opinion as this author normally does. I missed the normal style I’ve come to expect from this author. Nothing against the story itself. I just didn’t enjoy it as much as I had hoped I would.
I can still happily recommend it for a quick, light & enjoyable read.

Charmed by His Lordship by Jen Geigle Johnson was so, so good!! I've been dying to read it since I read the Amazon preview of it (and got hooked), but in between life and ARC's I kept postponing it until I finally managed to find the time to read this novella today, and read it in one sitting (it was that good!).
I loved Lady Felicity Honora Honeyfield as a character, but I especially enjoyed her meet-cute with Lord Abraham Bolton. So funny!
I don't know if it's been a while since I read the other books in the series, or it's the way the authors designed it to be, but I can't remember seeing these characters in the following books. Still, and even though we do have descriptions of both the settings and scenery, I loved that we get to know these two for themselves. I loved pretty much their every interaction, and how they kept coming to the aid of each other.
Of course, once all the secrets are out, and the confessions are made, I couldn't have asked for a better ending. Seriously, I have so many highlights from the last two chapters (both funny and romantic moments, oh, and those letters *swoon*), it may as well have been the whole of them ;) ~ 5 stars and completely recommended

Not the Snob!
Titled and above the rest! How horrid. That is what Felicity had her sights on. He was a life long friend and from a proper family. Her mothers family bloodline was not quite so pure. She has been taught to marry well. Her father though titled married for love. Now she must see two very different gentleman one who will love her and one who looks down on her.

Loved it!
I came to know this author through the “Regency House Party” series. These books are fun to read to follow each of the people’s stories. The characters in this story are fun and the author does a good job to make them feel real. I found myself laugh and amazed by the personalities of others. Good storyline, but above all... It was a clean read.

This book was so adorable and funny. I loved Lord Bolton's character. He constantly made me chuckle and I thought the needlepoint scene was so cute. I also really liked Lady Felicity and Mrs. Daw. Mrs. Daw seemed like a friend everyone would like to have. Jen Geigle Johnson is quickly becoming one of my new favorite authors.

This was such a sweet, delightful read. I really enjoyed the gradual change of plans both parties underwent as their feelings came in direct conflict with their original ideas.

I always enjoy books where the characters attend a house party. The characters were varied. I really enjoyed how dedicated some of the attendees were to finding the "right' person to marry. Overall, a sweet clean read.

Poor Lord chases rich Lady. Poor Lady seeks stable Gentleman. Poor Lord meets poor Lady falls in love. Rich Lady meets stable Gentleman falls in love. The end. Very sappy love story but very entertaining read for a quiet afternoon.

The writing in this story was so choppy that it was distracting. The characters weren't well developed and the resolution of conflict felt rushed and not believable. I've now read multiple books by this author, pushing through them but usually wishing I hadn't, and I don't plan to read more.

I throughly enjoyed this book. Sometimes the head and the heart are speaking different languages. I loved Lord Bolton’s fun, light hearted personality. I enjoyed reading Lady Felicity and Lord Bolton’s blossoming romance right under their noses.

Clean romance
Very enjoyable and fun. The characters are witty and easy to like or dislike as the case may be.
The storyline continues the house party theme from the other books in the series yet is a stand alone. I find them more interesting if read together.

Easy read
Would have liked the nasty lord Felicity wanted get much more of a consequence as his ungentlemanly manners and his behavior in front of ever should not have earned him a lady at all

I need Lord Bolton in my life!
I love the thought that there is someone who can see your worth! I loved the story line and the “unlikely match” type love story! The hero and heroine are made for each other! Can’t wait to see what’s comes next from Jen!

Great story
So many romances now are 400 or more pages. Sometimes they are too long. This story was almost too short! This was a well written story of friendship turning into more. Loved it!

Fun read; pretty generic. It fits its description exactly, without too much extra. It’s a shorter read, so characters need to be a bit more transparent in order for the story progression to work properly. It was an enjoyable read, though predictable!
