Coldest Fire is book four in the Dominion series by Juliette Cross. This is the final book of this series and what a way to go out, with Uriel, the Archangel, his quest for revenge, and the woman who reawakens his heart.

Uriel is now free from the time he spent imprisoned by the evil demon prince, Vladek. He has healed on the outside, but inside, he still rages. He wants revenge for what Vladek did to him and so many other innocents. He has a plan. He will fight in the pits until he can work his way up to the main event, the pit in Vladek’s circle. Then he will exact his revenge. But he can’t just waltz into these demon’s castles and volunteer to fight. He needs help getting in. That is what put him on the witch Nadya’s doorstep.

“I’d always been Uriel, the merciful one. The benevolent. The healer. But no longer. Those parts of me had been cut out.”

“Ending Vladek would be the catalyst to bury my hatred. Once and for all.”

archangel

Nadya was a witch who had escaped her own torture at the hands of Vladek. Now she lives alone in a small cottage deep in the woods. But then Uriel was brought to her, asking for help getting back to the place she never wanted to go near again. She recognized the same pain in Uriel that she herself feels. She wants nothing to do with this plan, but also understands Uriel’s need for revenge.

“She was good. Beautiful in her pristine purity and compassionate heart.”

“She wasn’t a creature of the dark after all. No. She was a luminescent light like no other.”

emilia clarke

Uriel had a deep distrust of witches. But the more he saw Nadya, the more he realized how good she was. And the more her light started to melt his frozen heart. Until the mission was no longer about revenge for what happened to him, but for what happened to her.

Wow, what a way to wrap up this series. I knew Uriel’s story would be epic and it was. He was so filled with darkness in the beginning. It was so wonderful to watch Nadya’s light slowly seep in, for all of her goodness to melt the ice from around his heart. Uriel was everything I hoped he would be. At first you get the idea that Nadya is helpless. But oh how wrong you would be. She is strong. She stands by Uriel’s side and together they find a way to conquer the evil that tried to imprison them.

gothic castle

You can read this as a stand alone, enough details are given to piece together the back story. But really, you would be missing so much if you don’t start at the beginning. I have read all of Juliette’s books and I can assure you that every book is an experience you don’t want to miss.

“My light, Nadya. You are my light.”
“This was my paradise. My heaven on earth.”

A kiss was a caress of souls. An intimate entanglement of breath and affection.

What a fabulous ending to a magnificent series!!! Uriel's book was everything that I hoped for!!! And the cover was perfect too! I've never been into fluffy cherub angels,I want the biggest, baddest kickass Angel their is and uriel is this and more. And he is so fucking alpha sexy and has a dragon too!!! What he went through at the hands of the black demoness witch lisabette should have broken him,but if anything it made him stronger, after kiling the witch that held him captive and escaping he has lived for revenge against vladek the demon king who captured and gave him to lisabette to be her pet. He needs Nadya to get to vladek but even though she helped him one night from another beating by the sick bitch lisabette,he see's her as just another evil demoness witch and it doesn't help that it's whispered that she's also vladek's secret concubine. I don't want to say anymore about the plot other then to say things aren't always what they seem and their is a twist that I didn't see coming! Juliette cross is a fabulous storyteller and so descriptive that I can picture not only this world she has created but her characters as well! I love all and will miss this series so much!! I was hoping read more about the hot sexy legion General maximus with his beautiful black wings and one of my fave demons skaal ,I love this guy!! And Yorick for a bad guy was yummie too! This was a steamy hot sexy read and the chemistry between nayda and uriel was hawt! If you haven't read a Juliette cross book your missing out,all her books are 5 star reads! I can't wait to see what comes next!! Until next time luv's💖💋

Coldest Fire was everything I wanted and everything I needed to end this awesome series.
The final installment has Archangel Uriel and witch Nadya beautiful love story.
Everything started with them seeing each other when captives in Valdek and Lisabette castles in the first book.
Now Uriel needs Nadyas help to get to Vladek by fighting in the demon pits.
It starts as a slow burn , both of them fighting their own demons and tortured past at the hands of the same evil. Two souls that are going to get connected by the same pain and wounds they suffered.
Nadya is a shy human, still living in a remote cottage in the middle of forest , but she is so much more than what Uriel tough at first sight: selfless, kind, beautiful, strong and courageous.

"Knowing we’d walked parallel paths through hell and had come out, stronger than before, I wanted something other than revenge and blood. Something softer…sweeter."

Uriel is full of anger and revenge , understandable for what happen to him for months being a slave, but he opens his soul to Nadya and when he at least accepts his desire and love for her everything is like an explosion of feelings .This men is very powerful ,confident , persevering , sexy and gentle with Nadya.
"My light, Nadya. You are my light.”

They were hot and passionate in bed exactly like a firestorm.
"Because, Nadya, when he comes for you, when he figures it out, it’s going to be a firestorm."

We get to see again all the other couples we loved in the previous books , their friendship and caring for each other very touching. And the final battle was glorious !!
I would love to get a book of Skaal too, I think he deserves his happy ending ..who know..maybe?

I've been waiting this whole time for Uriel's story and man was it EVERYTHING. Uriel has intrigued from the start. I'm drawn to the cold and dangerous characters. There is just something about reading a character like that finding his other half. This book had me giddy with how Uriel slowly thawed for Nayda. It's everything that I love to see in a couple.

Nayda was an amazing heroine. I love it when an author can create a woman to admire and respect. She was such a sweet person who cared more about others than herself. She has reason to fear so much but that never stopped her from doing the right thing. She was perfect for Uriel.

Their love story wasn't the only thing that held me captive. Finally seeing our favorite characters go after Vladek was so satisfying. His rein of terror lasted too long and who better than to take him down that the two who were most effected by him.

I'm sad to see this series end. Every book has been captivating to read. I've loved all the characters. Each of them have been unique in their own way and brought a lot to the series as a whole. This kind of series is one of my favorite type to read. I easily get hooked on a story where good fights evil and wins. This was an amazing series and I highly recommend it for all you paranormal lovers.

I'm in love with an archangel!! When we first met Uriel, he was tortured and chained to a dark witch who had bespelled him with black magic, dampening his powers to have her wicked way with him. His unrelenting strength and his vow of vengeance kept him going. In a life full of darkness, there was one bright light - another witch with compassion in her eyes and a burgeoning need to ease his pain. But how can one of them be a beacon of hope? Once rescued, Uriel lived to fulfill his promise, to satisfy his thirst for revenge and only one person could help him deliver... Nadya, the same witch who was there during his time of captivity. I was so excited to read about how Uriel and Nadya not only got their revenge, but how they found eternal love. Cross never fails to deliver and this story definitely gets my ringing endorsement - one of the BEST reads of 2019!

Uriel in his black garb was striking. Uriel in his plated armor was magnificent. But Uriel in nothing but a white towel wrapped around his waist and beads of water covering his perfectly sculpted and bronzed chest was utterly devastating.

Juliette Cross has brought the Dominion series to a close with a fantastic bang. There was tons of action, I got to see my beloved Dommiel, and those fighting pits really came to life for me. Am I sad to see it all go? Of freaking course! Not only have I met and loved some amazing demons and fallen angels, but I just met an incredible archangel and I want more. However, I'm thrilled with everything I got and all that I've read and I can't wait to see what this author will gift us with next!

Oooh have I been nervous. My love of the Archangel Uriel has spanned the entirety of both the Vessel Trilogy and the Dominion series so far...six books, so I needed him to deliver the goods.

description ...finding your own happiness in this world, whatever that may be…is worth sacrifice. Is worth risking everything.”

Bring on the bubbly because my angel was everything I was hoping for as he shows us the lengths he’s prepared to go to in his revenge against demon prince, Vladek. He suffered at his clutches, as has demon witch and unlikely ally, Nadya and, as these two damaged souls grow closer, their hearts open up and they realise they’re stronger together than apart.

description I saw myself in you. I saw the scars behind your eyes. And I knew that,” she dragged her mouth over mine, “I knew that I wasn’t alone.”

I loved Nadya and Uriel together, they complimented each other perfectly, and along with Juliette Cross’ amazing world building, painting rich, detailed, visual battle scenes which have you holding your breath along with delicious romantic tender and passionate moments paced to fit their circumstance, you know the pay off will be worth the wait.

description You were the one flicker of light in all that darkness.”

This series kicked off with a bang and Coldest Fire sends it out the same way, and although gutted that we’ve reached the end, I’m thankful that not only Uriel and Nadya but all the characters we’ve met along the way, were given the stories they deserved. I can’t recommend both series enough to any lover of PNR/urban fantasy romance.

“No. Just an angel.”

Angels, Demons, and Witches oh my! Seriously what more can you ask for? as always, like time and time again Juliette Cross nails it and I have to say, I absolutely love her paranormal fantasy works. It’s always filled with action, romance and swoon worthy characters that mesh so well together. The dynamic between Nadya and the Archangel Uriel is different from most due to their past relations long before this series starts and it was amazing to see the previous characters from earlier installments make an appearance. I think this series concluded well but I have to say… I need Skaal story and I need it now. I know this is Nadya and Uriel’s tale, but I couldn't help but sympathize with Skaal and what he has done to save our lead heroine. If the book gods could grant me any wish, its for them to have the author write the next tale on our fallen angel, Skaal. Just saying.

What a stunning conclusion to this series! I couldn’t imagine a better way to end things.

description

Nadya has eeked out as peaceful of an existence as she can since her time with Vladek. But when Uriel arrives at her home in need of her assistance, her life is thrown directly into the battle of good and evil. Uriel is unable to forget the last time he saw the witch, Nadya. He doesn’t trust her kind but the more he gets to know her, the more he realizes that perhaps he has judged her unfairly.

’He was created to exact justice on evil.’

description

Oh my, how my heart went out to Nadya. What horrors she has lived through, yet she was so strong. Extremely strong, even as she feared Uriel and all that he made her feel. And especially when she takes a stand to bring down the demon king that marked every faucet of her life.

”It’s just that…sometimes…the past can leave scars that dig too deep. That can never be erased. And so, we have to be content with a half-life once we’ve flown our course and made it through to the other side without burning.”

I’ve been waiting for Uriel’s story since I first met him so long ago. He definitely lived up to all my expectations. After his time as Lisabette’s captive, his heart has hardened and all he lives for is complete vengeance upon Vladek. He’s pretty stony going in, but his warming towards Nadya captured my heart completely. And it doesn’t take long for that warming to turn to total conflagration.

* ’My, how I’d fallen so fast. Thousands of years in this world and no mortal or immortal had clawed inside of me like the lovely Nadya.’

* ’When I wanted something, I didn’t give up. I only hoped Nadya was ready for my kind of perseverance. Because claiming her and making her mine was quickly eclipsing all other goals in my life.’

description

One of the most beautiful moments I think I’ve ever read was when Nadya shares her greatest shame with Uriel. His response is what romance is all about. This moment, this scene, is the true magic of this story and worth reading this book for if not for any other reason. But there are definitely so many other reasons.

With plenty of action and drama, we get to witness firsthand Uriel’s abilities as well as watch the previous characters of both this series and the Vessel Triology come together to fight against evil. I was totally captivated by each action sequence as this author presents us with such a clear picture of what is happening, you’ll feel as though you are in the midst of it all along with this hero and heroine.

I can't believe it's over. The final chapter of The Dominion Series is a beautiful ending to an incredible ride. A fantasy landscape with a romance that resonates with modern-day realness and I will hold out hope for more to come in the future.

Juliette Cross fills her books with quote-worthy passages and a stylized way with words that make her books unmistakably her own. She is right up there with the powerhouses of the PNR industry; Kenyon, Iona, Ward, and Harris.

I'm sad it's over, but thrilled to begin a re-read!

I first discovered this author when I read her Vampire Blood series that took well known fairy tales and gave them a whole new twist. Now she's given readers this series that takes Angels and Demons and brings them crashing down to Earth !
Uriel is a powerful Archangel but he made the mistake of being too trusting which led to him being taken prisoner and now he's escaped he is out for revenge that's bloody and fatal ! Nadya knows more about the Demon that Uriel is set on confronting then she's letting on but her innate goodness means when the terrifying Archangel shows up at her door she agrees to help him. Together they go back to Russia for a final showdown but can Uriel really forgive the woman who stood by and watched him suffer ?
I loved that the author gave Uriel a Dragon because it just added yet another magical element to this story. The couple are just so perfect together but I have to point out that all the characters here are just so delicious and it was wonderful to have previous couples appear in what I'm guessing might be the final book. If I have to criticise anything it's that cover because it looks nothing like how I imagined Uriel and if you haven't read Darkest Heart yet please do because that is a cover worth drooling over !

This review was originally posted on Addicted To RomanceI received this book for free from Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Coldest Fire is the third and most recent installment of the "Dominion" series from this beloved author Juliette Cross. I meant to have this review out way earlier but it took me longer to read this book than I had planned ( last half of 2019 I had a pretty bad book slump) So I finally got this read and man why on earth did I WAIT so long for this book because it kicked my booty y'all!! I had such a fun time with this beloved story. Now I first want to point out that unless you are like me and can catch on pretty quickly, read the previous books. It has this world-building that is pretty extensive and other character lines that will probably make more sense if you read the connecting books to make sense of everything. I was a bit confused in parts and yeah that is my fault. But this story is still one of the BEST mythological fantasies I have ever read and I need more
I saw myself in you. I saw the scars behind your eyes, and I knew...I knew that I wasn't alone

Our story begins with our heroine who is Nadya, who is a demon witch and is in hiding from her enemies. She lives on the outskirts in a cottage and gives to others whenever she can with her healing abilities. But then she gets some unexpected visitors that need her help and Nadya knows she owes it to Archangel Uriel. Uriel is out for revenge, he is finally freed from captivity and wants to destroy his enemy but he needs the help of the witch to get into a series of mythological fight pit circuits and so he and Nadya join forces.
“I’d always been Uriel, the merciful one. The benevolent. The healer. But no longer. Those parts of me had been cut out.”

“Ending Vladek would be the catalyst to bury my hatred. Once and for all.”

But Nadya has her own personal reasons for helping Uriel, she feels shame in not helping him more and also she wants to get even with her evil sister but by joining with Uriel she not only will have to face her greatest fear but also discover a transcendent love with Uriel ....but she will need to learn to fight for the man she loves
Do what you must to survive, to protect what belongs to you, and what you love

Coldest Fire ....WHEW.....this book blew my mind away and I totally didn't mind it hehe honestly though why have I taken so long to read this lady's work before? Because I am going to buy the previous books and read them as soon as I possibly can because this book was spectacular in every way. I would describe this as a mix over between Mythological Fantasy and Urban Fantasy with plenty of delicious romantic entanglements in between. Now I want to say that if you are the type of reader that needs to read a series in order so you don't get confused or lost by certain events or character connections---do NOT start with this book like I have done. It does have other connections and storylines that I was missing out on. Now I am the type of reader where I can catch on to it but many readers aren't like that. So just beware of the world-building elements beforehand. Despite some moments of confusion I simply adored this story in every way.
"I want the impossible dream," I slid my fingers into her hairline, stroking my thumb along her lovely cheekbone "I want you. I'm willing to burn my wings and fall to my death to have you"

The romance that builds between Uriel and Nadya was breathtakingly beautiful and precious. I felt so touched by their connection. Now at the first its a bit of an unrequited love especially from Uriel. He is pretty focused on his revenge and does view Nadya has an enemy at first but he warms up to her when he sees her true character and that she is vastly different from others he has known. Both Uriel and Nadya have both been traumatized and abused by their previous captors and so they actually have quite a bit in common. As they start to work together to take down their enemies, a burning desire builds between them and quickly turns into a deeper sense of love and devotion to each other.
I'd die in the flames and fall from the sky---happily, joyfully--if it gave me one more second in your arms. For there's no question now, Nadya. My heart. My love. You are my greatest dream, and I'd burn my wings to ash if only to have you as mine

Overall I found this story to be so exhilarating and this story so well written this author is up there with all those other dynamite authors like Illona Andrews, JR Ward, and Nalini Singh. I honestly can't recommend this book enough especially if you love UF, Fantasy and PNR.....its a book that will blow your expectations out the window and captivate the hearts and minds of its readers....A TRUE JEWEL!!

I loved Uriel and Nadya’s story! She wasn’t shy and mousy, but a subtle force to be reckoned with. And Uriel? Well, that man had so many layers I couldn’t wait to unwrap and reveal! The attraction was obvious to everyone but these two, and let me just say the wait...soooo worth-while💗

And hail, hail, Uriel’s awesome team make appearances! What good is a battle without friends? George, Kat, Xander, Carowyn, Anya, my forever favorite bad-boy Dommiel (who provides the best tongue-in-cheek and yes, sometimes crudely sarcastic remarks around) and Circe, Uriel’s lovably stubborn, yet devoted dragon who, I think, had the best job of the book-They’re back and fighting mad in fantastically charged scenes that had me breaking table manners and reading at the dinner table.

In a nutshell, Uriel and Nadya’s book was intense! From the pulsating action sequences, a sexy little romance, sarcastic humor, and an angry archangel bent on revenge...oh my goodness, Coldest Fire was the PERFECT wrap up to the Dominion series!

I would definitely recommend reading previous books in the series because:
1. Dommiel -who can resist a not-quite reformed bad boy/demon, and yes, I am shamelessly plugging his book here.
2. Dominion is a great fantasy series.
3. You’ll really get a feel for the bonds that tie all these characters together!
4. Did I mention this was a great fantasy series?!

I received an ARC from NetGalley and this is my honest review.

A new installment in the fascinating and complex dystopian future world of the Dominion series where otherworldly creatures have conquered humans and rule the planet.
In this brilliantly creative book we get a modified enemies-to-lovers story where Archangel Uriel is forced to work together with one of his enemies, a witch named Nadya. Only, she's not really his enemy. She's an outlier for her kind with a sweet and gentle nature who wants nothing to do with the demons most witches associate with. Sparks flew between these characters from the moment they were both on the same page and smoldered until Uriel finally got a clue and caved to the heat.

I love reading a paranormal romance that reminds me why this will always be my favorite genre. Thank you Juliette Cross for a super-charged, smexy, highly satisfying read!

Ahh... the beauty that is picking up a book and knowing it will brighten your day before you even start. That is what Juliette brings to the table every time. I never worry or wonder if I will like the book, I know I will. Coldest Fire was exactly what the blurb promised: a story of a good hearted angel ready for vengeance and to fight the world to make things right; a story of two souls that have been to hell and back and need each other to fully heal; a story of vengeance, but also passion and love :)

Uriel may come across to start as a moody and broody male, but he really isn't. He is an angel, a softy at heart. Always wiling to help and to protect those who need and those he cares about. And boy does he care!!! I think that is part of why he comes across so closed off at first, he cares a lot, he cares too much, and he is hurting bad from all that was done to him. But he is also healing, and going after the ones that hurt him is part of it.

Nadya if both the same and the exact opposite. Although she does not come across as closed off as he, she also feels too much and is hurting, she is also healing. Helping Uriel helps her.

They are both wonderful good hearted characters that you just wanna snuggle with - or at least I do. Yah yah, Uriel also happens to be a killing machine, but that is part of his charm.

Needless to say (for those that have read the previous books), Dom is my hero! the handful of scenes with him made me giggle and love him even more. He is incorrigible and I adore him for it. It was nice seeing the previous and well loved characters make an appearance.

Could you read this as a stand alone? sure thing... but I think that this time if you did you would feel like you are missing something. I would recommend you start from the beginning. This is just book 3, you can do it :)

All in all this was a fantastic read! The battle scenes were all well written - I specially loved Vladek's ending! The romance built up nicely and the chemistry was on point. There wasn't anything about the book that I did not like, it just didn't hook me in the same way my bad boy Dom did. Nothing will really... ***5 ‘My Domina’ Stars***

I don’t want the series to end (mostly because I don’t want to leave my German demons ~ but that’s just me) but as far as endings go, this one rocked! It was sweet, a little bit gory, funny and all kinds of smexy and swoon worthy goodness.

I adored Nadya and Uriel. They’ve both been to hell and back and despite all that was inflicted on them, they’ve come out stronger for it in different ways, though they both still bear the scars in one way or another. Their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun. There were some dark moments, but I loved how they helped each other work through them while becoming more entwined with each other as they got to know each other. The chemistry between them was HAWT and their bantering was a lot of fun. There wasn’t a lot of angsty moments between them, something I appreciated since there was enough drama going on around them to keep things quite interesting and in the end, I loved how everything worked out for them.

This book definitely gave the series a great send off. All of the issues plaguing our heros were tied up well and I didn’t have to give the author the evil eye like I have in the past *BSEG* I loved catching up with Dommiel & Anya, George & Kat and Xander & Carowyn and getting to know Skaal, Circe and Deimos...and of course my German demons ~ Axel, Wolfrick and Gustav ~ who I would LOVE to see more of in maybe another spinoff??? Maybe?? But, if not, this was still a great series, so if you’re into angels and demons battling it out and finding love while doing it, then this is a must read for you!

Holy. Freaking. WOW.

I knew Uriel was going to be one seriously badass archangel set on revenge but damn! he totally blew me away with all his alpha badassery.

While the romance between Uriel and Nadya is a standalone and it can be enjoyed as such, I strongly suggest reading the first two books in this spinoff series, Darkest Heart and Hardest Fall. I’d even go as far as saying if you really want to know Uriel, starting with the Vessel Trilogy wouldn’t be a bad idea. Especially when it’ll explain in-depth how the world descended into the chaos, it is in and you’ll get acquainted with all the players on the board—good ones, evil ones and those in between.

Now, I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll just say Coldest Fire is full of action with pit fights, combat and all-out battles along with an incredibly sweet romance and hot as hell sexy shenanigans.

Uriel is one powerful mofo, and although he was understandably closed off in the beginning after the ordeal he went through, he almost immediately found himself being melted by the lovely Nadya. Once he let himself start to feel and the more time he spent in the company of the witch, the attraction and connection they shared could not be denied. Uriel was a totally dreamy H, all gruff and broody, protective, bossy and alpha sweet.

“If you don’t want him, you best make it clear. Because, Nadya, when he comes for you, when he figures it out, it’s going to be a firestorm.”

I must confess that I was a little apprehensive at first about Nadya. You see, Ms. Cross writes the most kickass leading ladies ever, and I just wasn’t sure how sweet, caring and timid Nadya was going to fit that role. She wasn’t a warrior like Anya, Bone, or some of the ladies in the Vampire Blood series, but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t kickass. Her devotion to helping others, right wrongs, and her determination to keep Uriel safe even if it meant walking into her worst nightmare made her one hell of a fighter and I loved that about her.

Even though I was a bit disappointed Genevieve and Jude didn’t make even a small appearance to kick some demon ass, I absolutely loved everything about Coldest Fire. This was an epic ending to a superbly well done and incredibly interesting series and I hope to hear more from this gang sometime in the future.

*I received this book as a gift in exchange for my honest opinion.

Are you kidding me?!!! This can't be over. Say it isn't so....I BEG YOU!!!!!!!!

Wow! I'm honestly not sure if I have the words to express myself for this one. This series has been above and beyond amazing. Each and every book has captivated me and pulled me toward a world that I seriously wish existed on some level. But this last one? Holy Goddess!!! Nothing beats Uriel's story....NOTHING!!!!

Yes, this story can be read as a standalone. But I honestly don't recommend it. Why? Because there are flashbacks and/or memories that, although the author does a great job explaining, would mean SO MUCH MORE if you'd have read the previous books. Jus sayin....

Nadya is human. But she's not just human, she's a witch. Ok, she's not just a witch, she's THE witch that has caused quite the buzz. After years living a life she didn't want, she's finally living a secluded life, free and unafraid. That is until Anya and Dom show up at her door with Uriel. Suddenly her past is staring in her present and everything comes crashing back. Does this mean she's no longer safe?

Uriel is an archangel. Well, he's more than that but he's also damaged, both mentally and physically. After being tortured by the evil witch Lisabette, now that he's free, revenge is the only thing on his mind. Except now that he needs Nadya's help to accomplish his task, revenge isn't the only thing on his mind. Is it possible to have both?

I'm crying while writing this. This book is such an emotional cleansing for these two characters. Both have been through the ringer and deserve some happiness in their lives. But they have to go through more hell in order to get to that place, and what an amazing ride it is.

What an epic ending to a heartfelt series!!! I'll miss it....

Who am I kidding? I'll be re-reading this bad boy for years!!!!

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars

Coldest Fire is one of my most anticipated books of 2019 and OMG I loved it so much!!! Coldest Fire is the final book in the amazing Dominion series — we finally get Uriel and Nadya's love story and HEA!! This book can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading in order. I've been dying for Uriel and Nadya since Darkest Heart and that level of anticipation made Coldest Fire that much sweeter for me.

Uriel and Nadya first saw each other when they were both held in captivity — Uriel was held captive by an evil witch named Lisabette, while Nadya was enslaved by the demon prince Vladek. At one point during their captivity, Nadya created a diversion so Uriel would get some reprieve from his torture. But eventually, Nadya managed to escape with the help of Skaal and Axel. It wasn't until much later that Uriel was rescued by Dommiel and Anya. Now Uriel wants revenge against Vladek and the one person who can help him is Nadya.

You guys, I was dying for Uriel and Nadya to finally meet again. The tension was insane!!! Both Uriel and Nadya have gone through so much torture and abuse. Nadya has isolated herself in a small cottage so she could start healing her scars. Meanwhile, Uriel continued his mission as archangel, but he enclosed himself and became cold as ice. I wasn't sure what Uriel would think of Nadya, but it made sense that he didn't trust or like her at first. After his torture at the hands of Lisabette, it made sense that he would view all witches as the same. But he decides to trust Nadya because Dommiel and Anya both trust her.

Uriel plans on fighting his way to the top so he can finally come face to face with Vladek and Nadya is the one person who can help him enter those fighting pits. As Uriel and Nadya spend time together, Uriel realizes that he was wrong in his judgement of her character. He sees just how compassionate, caring, and empathetic she is towards other people. I love how his icy demeanor slowly melts and Nadya makes her way under his skin and into his heart. Their romance is emotionally intense and steamy to say the least. Uriel and Nadya are both wounded characters who find love and healing in each other's arms. Their HEA is most satisfying and so well deserved.

The plot is also interesting and builds up to an exciting climax filled with action. Juliette Cross's imagination is incredible. She has such a knack for writing action-filled climaxes that are vividly epic. The epilogue wraps up the series neatly, but in my opinion, it also leaves space for future stories, should the author want to continue building this world.

On a normal day, I don't really read very many paranormal romance books, however, I decided that Coldest Fire looked very intriguing, and I was wrong! It was SO MUCH MORE than intriguing, it was straight up EPIC, and now I need to go back & devour every last book by Juliette Cross. This is the story of Uriel, an Archangel, who is determined to get his revenge on the evil demon Prince, Vladek. See said evil demon Prince had imprisoned him in the past, and while he appears to be healed now, he still carries some dark rage towards Vladek, and I couldn't blame him one bit. He has to ask help from an unlikely source, in powerful witch, Nadya, who had escaped from her own torture at Vladek's evil hands. So since like pain recognizes like pain in this case, Nadya sucks it up to help him. So, off they go on a HUGE & DANGEROUS journey that kept me on the edge of my seat, not bothering to move until every last page was finished. Oh the intensity seeped out of the pages, while the twists had me doing my best to actually drop f-bombs, though I felt guilty for it in this instance. Oh, I can't forget to mention that whole issue of maybe just maybe hearts thaw & awaken on this journey. If you want to find out for sure, then just hit that one click button! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

The 3rd book in the series, definitely better to have read the previous 2 books & not jump straight into book 3.
Uriel is determined to destroy the demon responsible for his being captured and enslaved to a demon witch and comes up with a plot that would enable him to challenge Vladek (said demon) in his own fortress. The problem is finding a way into the fortress first.
But Dommiel & Anya know of the perfect person to help him & Uriel comes face to face with the witch who had helped him when he was enslaved.
If there is anything incorrect with the book blurb it’s that Nadya holds no malice against her sister & only wants to be left alone to live her life in peace helping the humans in the quiet village where she has hidden herself. The total opposite of Lisabette, Nadya is a good witch, innocent and uses her powers to help others.
When she & Uriel meet again, sparks fly and the chemistry between is palpable & totally apparent to anyone who seems them together.
Loved the book! There’s action but the best part was the relationship between Uriel and Nadya; the way their connection develops in the story was fantastic.
Definitely recommended if you’ve been following this series.

While I’m excited to finally read Uriel’s story, I’m sad to see the end of this series. 6 books (the beginning/introduction with the 3 original Vessel series books and then the Dominion series to wrap it up) will get you hooked like that.

Uriel wants to end the terror reign of high demon Vladek. To achieve this goal he needs the help of the witch and Vladek’s former concubine, Nadya. Their journey through the fighting pits of the demon underworld reveals their hidden secrets and deepest desires turning the defeat of Vladek into the ultimate revenge.

Even though each story in the series is written as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading in order to fully immerse yourself into the world before and after the wall between good and darkness fell.

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review and man I'm gonna be honest. This is book four in it series and I am so so so sad I hadn't read the first three before reading this magnificence. Uriel and Nadya gave me everything I love in a romance book and their heat and desire for each other was so beyond what I expected. Cross does an amazing job of transporting her reader into the world she has created and making them feel as if they are there interacting and living. So good!

Uriel finally managed to get free of Vladek. But not before he suffered at the hands of a certain female demon. He wants revenge. Badly. But would he be willing to corrupt his very angelic nature to get it? He just needs the help of another survivor. But can he really face putting Nadya back into the clutches of the very man she spent years trying to escape from?

He needs to get to the fighting pit in Vladek’s castle. He needs a demon to "speak" for him. Enter Nadya. Former abuse victim of Vladek and little does Uriel know, she also has a past with her female tormentor.

Holy Moly! What a way to end. Jam packed with action, adventure, mystery and passion! Uriel is a really avenging angel, one entirely too near the edge of becoming fallen. Nadya may come over as meek and unassuming. But she has an inner strength that SHE doesn't even know she has. She still sees herself as the victim she was, not the survivor she is.

After reading (and loving) Darkest Heart and Hardest Fall, I was very happy to see that Uriel got his story in Coldest Fire. As you could have read in Hardest Fall, Uriel was taken captured by a witch and tortured and enslaved. When he got away, he promised he would revenge himself at the witch and the cruel demon prince who captured him, Vladek. But in order to get close to him, he must fight in the pits of hell to get invited into Vladek's castle. And the only way to be invited to those fights is with the help of Dommiel and Anya (yep, from Darkest Heart). They know a witch, who can help Uriel. But Uriel is wary of witches and he doesn't trust Nadya. Not even when Dommiel and Anya ensure him that she is not like any other witch. Nadya is living a quiet live, only using her powers to help others. She has escaped a terrible life, which was forced upon her by her sister.
So, not eager to get back into her old life and her old world, she still agrees to help Uriel out as a favor to her friends Dommiel and Anya.
Working side by side to get to Vladek, Uriel realizes that Nadya is nothing like the witches he encountered from Vladek's entourage. And Nadya discovers there is so much more to Uriel than meets the eye. They will have to learn to trust each other, to make it out alive of Vladek's castle.
Suspense, plot twists and of course sparks flying between Nadya and Uriel. Another great story from Juliette Cross and I'm looking forward to a new book of series! Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 18, 2019

Archangel Uriel is hell bent on revenge on the demon prince Vladek. To get into the prince’s impenetrable fortress, he’ll have to fight in the pits of the underworld. And he’ll need the help of the last person he can trust––the demon witch Nadya.

There is no way Nadya, who spends her days taking care of others, expected to find Uriel on her doorstep. He seems no happier about being there than she does. But helping him means evening the scales against her backstabbing sister, and she’ll do whatever it takes to make that bitch pay.

Using the fight pit circuits in the demon underworld, Nadya helps Uriel combat his way to the arena at the castle in Russia. Only she isn’t what she seems. As a matter of fact, she may hold the key to his redemption...and to his heart.

••••••••

REVIEW: COLDEST FIRE is the third and final full-length instalment in Juliette Cross’ post-apocalyptic, dystopian DOMINION fantasy, romance series focusing on the fight for control and power- the Great War- between Heaven and Hell. This is Archangel Uriel, and witch Nadya. COLDEST FIRE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. The Dominion series is a sequel to the Vessel Series

Told from dual first person perspectives (Uriel and Nadya) COLDEST FIRE follows the building relationship and romance between Archangel Uriel, and witch Nadya. For months Nadya had been imprisoned in Estonia by demon king Vladek, while Uriel found himself the prisoner and slave of a powerful witch known as Lisabette. Freed from his prison Uriel goes in search of Nadya, the witch he considers in league with the demons of hell.

Uriel is desperate to return to destroy the self-proclaimed demon king Vladek but his only way to Vladek is through the fighting pits with the help of a witch he doesn’t trust. After his tortuous months under the control of Lisabette, Uriel looks at all witches as a pock against the world. But Uriel needs Nadya’s help, and it’s with her help that Uriel will find himself falling for the woman that has stolen his heart.

The relationship between Uriel and Nadya begins as a business arrangement but our couple originally met when Nadya and Uriel were first imprisoned months before. Uriel needs Nadya’s connections but Nadya struggles with memories of torture and abuse at the hands of a demon Uriel is determined to destroy. As plans are made to get Uriel into the fighting pits, our hero finds himself falling for the broken witch. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without he use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of energetic and colorful secondary and supporting characters including demon king Vladek, Lisabette witch, high demon Yorick, and the high demon of Moscow Skaal. We are reintroduced to Kat and George (The Deepest Well .5), Anya and Dommiel (The Darkest Heart #1) and Xander and Carowyn aka Bone (Hardest Fall #2).

COLDEST FIRE is a character driven story of betrayal and revenge; of trust and forgiveness; of heartbreak and love. The premise is engaging, entertaining and thrilling; the romance is seductive, spicy and intense; the characters are sensitive, spirited and charismatic. Juliette Cross writes from the heart: her characters are enthralling, sexy and imaginative; her stories are brilliant and intense.

I've been a lover of Juliette Cross' books, and the Vessel and Dominion series, for a LONG time. This book is the latest and greatest by Juliette, and continues the story of what is happening during the apocalypse that began at the end of the Vessel trilogy. Angels and Demons are fighting on Earth, and humans are stuck in the middle trying to survive.

Uriel and Nadya have both been mentally, physically, and emotionally abused by their captors, and both are trying to heal in their own ways - Nadya by closing herself off from the world, and Uriel by seeking all-out revenge against the demon Prince who captured him. What they don't realize is that what they actually need to heal is each other. Through the course of the story, Nadya and Uriel both realize that their comfort, and their salvation, is right in front of them, if they only have the courage to reach out and take it.

I truly LOVED this story! Nadya and Uriel are the perfect balance for each other - Nadya's hopeful nature and belief that things will work out, to Uriel's physical strength and determination to make sure things work out. Between the two of them, the forces of evil stand no chance!

If you like books with angels and demons, fighting the good fight, and two people falling in love as they help each other heal their wounds, you will LOVE this book! Th en go back and read everything else by Juliette Cross - you won't be sorry!
