Pretty much same thing as 2 previous books, just with different characters. Forced/unwanted/loveless marriage, constant lack of communication, as cute as it was to listen to it for the 1st time [1st book], by 3rd it got, well kind of boring, which is a shame as i think Isobel and James were my favorite from the series, the fact their story was almost same as the previous ones, took a lot of enjoyment away for me. But not to be completely negative, it was still fairly cute and would do better as a stand alone, for someone who not read 2 previous books ;)

Not bad
This is the first time reading this author and the story was good. I love the trope of the hero rescuing the heroine, so I’ll gobble up a plot like this anytime.
The story could’ve done with an editor; the writing—for the most part—was ok, but the misuse of punctuation marks was aggravating. The author has a tendency to use a period when she should’ve used a comma, so the sentence seems to have ended and it was jarring to read the next sentence and realize it was continuing from the previous one she ended with a period. It created a reading experience that wasn’t smooth or fluid and was quite jerky and discordant.
The other small quibble I had was there was no mention if the hero was faithful while the two were separated (he wasn’t faithful since meeting heroine years before, as the author tells the readers excessively that the hero was a STD-trap manwhore, sliming around with any skank willing to let him into her body. But AFTER marriage, no mention is made if he was able to exert some self-control over his overused dick and keep it out of other females during a period when they’re not together. This is why the story is only getting 3 stars.)

There was OM/OW drama. heroine was “compromised” but not due to any sexual activity with losers on her part, and I didn’t like how she would respond with “tingles” when the OM would dance with her. OM also forces a kiss on her. That’s as far as it went, tho. No abuse, and cheating is ambiguous, as it’s never mentioned either way if hero was with other women after marriage. HEA with epilogue and babies.

I actually read this one a while ago. I came back here because I just read a short story on Kindle Vella by this author.
It ties into this story because it features Isobel's maid Maggie. Maggie gets her HEA with a man who is linked to a Duke named Marcus from another novel. I'm having fun trying to piece this all together!

Have complete sentences become obsolete?
While the cast of characters is interesting andcthe plot beguiling, I had to put this down after only a short while because it was close to unintelligible. Whether the editor was a third grader, the author has no grasp of punctuation, or she was experimenting with the odd combination of a historical novel and avant-guard sentences I do not know. What I do know, however, is that the current sentence fragment scheme found here makes comprehension difficult

This was an o.k. story. It drug out a bit too long in the middle and wrapped up way too fast. One of those stories where one person saying what they feel would end months of agony for them both. Made me just want to bang their heads together.

Another kind and interesting romance
I have read all 3 books in the Stafford sisters trio. Even though these books are part of the trilogy, each can stand alone. Isobel Stafford is starting her third season. She just doesn't find any of the handsome, eligible young men of the ton to be interesting. Isobel finds herself in a situation that can be thought of as comproming to her reputation. Enter James, Earl of Burkenham. He studies the situation, then offers marriage to her himself. Thus goes this lovely, Regency romance. This book has adult themes which I found dealt with in a most tasteful manner. I like Ms. Snodgrass's writing style and look forward to reading more of her work. Enjoy!!

This was ok. I found the hero obnoxious (does a lot of smirking) and I had trouble buying his love for the heroine, which he didn’t acknowledge to himself until very close to the end of the book. The heroine was young and immature. Nothing unique about her. Liked the ending, even though I thought the hero’s declaration of love felt a bit rushed. All that said, the book was entertaining. I look forward to reading more of this author’s books.

I really liked this story. To me this story really an example of a person not expressing themselves to the one they love. Isobel had three coming outs and she really needed to find a husband. The man she married was someone had verbally spared with many times. This a very interesting story. You will enjoy this

The last Stafford sisrer
I can't wait to go back and read the two previous books in this series! Isobel's story is so engaging, filled with acts of caring, surprising compatibility, and decision that make you want to smack the characters "up side the head."
You be drawn in, unable to put this book down. Enjoy!

It was okay. Not much of a story. The main characters spent little time together. Didn't get to know each other. More sex scenes and the FMC thinking about how much the MMC didn't care about her. Had potential, but fell flat.
2.5 stars really. Well written. I enjoyed the characters, but the story needed more meat to it.

Isobel is looking for a husband. James is watching over her for his friend who is her sister’s husband. James and Isobel have never gotten along. When a scoundrel tries to compromise Isobel, James announces that he and Isobel are engaged. This is a fascinating story of two people trying to navigate a new relationship.

The 3 book Regency Romance concludes with this occassionally hot tale of the youngest Stafford middle class sister and her relationship with her handsome young bachelor noble landlord. 4.75 stars. Loved this new to me author and narrator is good. Presentation of narrator was excellent, although I wished for a British accent for this Regency Brit story.

The expected scene plays out in this book as the final Stafford sister is wed. A glorious story of frienienymies finally finding each other. Another well written recency story that makes us romance story lovers but these books. Thanks again Ms. Snodgrass.

Ye gods, where's an editor?!
The story wasn't bad but I've never seen such a mess of sentence fragments in my life. Maddening. Usually, its commas and running sentences that are the problem.

Delightful
This was a great read which kept one engaged and wanting to find out what happened next. Both were reluctant to admit that they were in love until a life scare caused them to be honest with each other.

A VERY BRITISH LORD
Is a good book.... Both hero, JAMES, and heroine ISOBEL are stubborn ! He a duke, she a commoner find joy in each other... I would have enjoyed more conversation and development of their relationship.

Incomplete
I enjoyed the story but the ending seemed rushed. The characters were built logically but the capitulation seemed too early. I was ready to have more drama before the happily ever after.

The low rating is from two points. The lesser is a need for better proofreading. Awkward spots requiring a reread to decipher and wrong word errors. For example, the men are "viral." But the bigger issue relates to resolution and development. The most crucial moment of the book happens in a few paragraphs. The book builds then it's like it got long enough so it got tied up in two paragraphs. It demeans the change.
