The Beacon Street Girls books are inspired by all the preteen girls I've ever known. I wanted to create a world where girls can go to have fun and learn about who they are, while modeling real-life experiences. The first book, Worst Enemies/Best Friends, explores creating and testing friendships, skewed first impressions, and being the new kid at school. In the end, true friendship conquers all. Welcome to the world of the BSG!

Everyone knows that Maeve's dream is to be a famous actress someday, so when her father, who owns the Movie House, tells her that the New York Film Academy will be running a summer film camp right in their theater, Maeve feels ready to explode from happiness. Their new business partner is Walter von Krupcake, whose television commercials star not only him, but his daughter, Madeline. Imagine attending film camp with a real actress!

With the investment of the "Krupcake King," the Film Academy will be sprucing up their Movie House and bringing in the world renowned film director Artemia Aaron to direct the camp...as well as her son, the child star Apollo Aaron, who will also be taking part in the camp activities. This chance to work directly with true professionals is the opportunity that Maeve has been waiting for, and she can hardly wait.

Right from the first day of camp, Maeve is impressed with Madeline and the glamorous lifestyle she leads, so she's honored when Madeline chooses her to be her new friend. While Madeline has a gigantic house, hunky servants, a limo to ride around in, and a seemingly endless supply of expensive, collector's-item dresses, Maeve figures that she can learn a thing or two from her new friend.

Luckily, Madeline really seems to value Maeve's natural talent and big ideas on what they can accomplish in the camp, so Maeve feels no hesitancy in sharing her time and effort. But what happens when the student movie can only have one star, and both girls want the position?

This BEACON STREET GIRLS special adventure, starring Maeve, feels appropriate on all levels when taking Maeve's character into consideration. With a dramatic premise, a rather obvious emotional conflict, and an over-the-top finale, regular readers of the series will enjoy watching Maeve turn the tide of the situation to her own favor.

At the beginning, all Maeve wants is to be famous and get the lead role in whatever film they're doing. When Maddie (The Krupcake Princess) befriends her, she starts to act like she's already famous. She is rude to everyone-especially her family and Apollo-and turns into a clone of Maddie. She's all "Darling, I need fancier!" and annoying words like that.

But when Maddie steals Maeve's idea for the film, Maeve decides that Maddie isn't worth her friendship. Then when she overhears Mr. Von Krupcake (Maddie's dad and the producer of the camp) telling Artemia (the camp director) that if Maeve got the main role of the princess he would make the movie house look ugly again...Maeve learns that all the people who are famous really just are mean to get what they want. She doesn't want to be like that.

That's not the way to act. People won't like you if you're mean to everyone and stuck-up. If you're nice, people will appreciate you. Then they might give you what you want. No one likes a mean liar.

After Maeve becomes the maid, Sufoo, she becomes much nicer to Apollo and all the other people at film camp. Everyone loves her, and they realize that Maddie is a mean, lying, stuck-up diva.

This book taught me to always be nice, and people will like you. So now, i'll always try that way and never be mean.

Another great beacon street girls book. This book is an awesome book for people who love movies and these kind of books. This book is a special adventure book. It is told only through Maeve's point of view. That's what a special adventure book is. And it has a very exciting ending! They go to __________. You have to read it to find out the answer to that blank! If your like movies and the beacon street girls you should TOTTALY read this book! This book is about how Maeve stays home during her break, I think it's winter break in the book and sghe gets to attend a film camp for ten days! The best part is that there making a movie! And she becomes best friends, or so she thinks, with this girl named maddie. But that friendship doesn't turn out well. Take it from me. You have to read this book! Anybody who is reading this review.

Ok so Maeve had a sleepover with Maddie and it was pretty good. They became best friends though. That might sound like a great thing but it isnt. Maddie just used Maeve and became her best friend to steal her awesome movie idea for the new film. Maddie also told the director tha Maeve only helped a little bit.Maeve is obviously now Maddies friend anymore. Maeve is now working her butt off to come up with a new and better movie.Maeve also wants to be the princess of the movie to blow Maddie out of the water!

I would recommend this book to girls in my class because it's about a girl named Maeve and Maddie that they are best friends but then they are not because Maddie stole Maeve's idea of how to make the movie. This book has a lot of drama in it and at the end, it is about how they all became famous for being part of the movie. I gave this book a 4/5 because in some parts I got bored of reading it but on the other hand I was so interested in the book because it had lots of details.

By the way, a tradução do livro em português deixou a desenhar em vários pontos!

Back Cover: Dearest Movies Stars in Training,

I am THE happiest girl on the planet. A very famous Holiywood director is coming to our very own Movie House to run a film camp and – hold your breath – she is bringing her dreamy actor son with her. Can’t you just picture moi and the star of my very own romantic comedy?

Of course, there’s the small matter of Madeline, the beautiful, talented, and ultra-rich daughter of the famous Krupcake King (Gotta love those Krupcakes) She wants to star in the movie, too. But hey, I say let the best ach-TOUR win! Honestly, does life get any more fabulous?

XOXO, Maeve

Mine: This is a wonderful Young Adult series. I’ve read 2 so far and would highly recommend. There is wonderful story of relationships (Parents-children, Sister-Brother). It also is a story about listening to each other. Sometimes parents can be totally clueless. Why put two people that you know will not get along together. Maeve is into acting and her father owns a theatre (movie house) what could be better than to have a movie camp come to town. The only problem is the sponsor has a daughter who thinks she rules the world.

It was really good. I always thought that Maeve was an interesting character to me. At first I liked her because of her personality and then I stopped after reading some of the books in the main series where she thought she could have any guy she wanted. I don't like Flirty Maeve but I do like Entertainer Maeve. Seeing that Maddie Von Krupcake (sappy name, by the way) would pretend to like Maeve and then go behind her back and steal her ideas and not like her anymore. The story itself is predictable but still, very sweet.

I honestly didn't like this book as much as the others. It didn't keep me on the edge of my seat wanting more and didn't even compel me to read on. I stopped in the middle and just flipped to the ending. For one thing, I hated the characters. Mauve can be so dimwitted sometimes. Her constant crying and being rude annoyed me but I did enjoy what her little brother Sam did at the ending. Go Red Fu (read the book to know what that means).

I really like this book. It is so interesting because it talks about this girl's dream to becoming famous. It was really sad on how she got the lead but it was stolen from her because her newly formed enemy blackmailed her into it. Its pretty messed up on how a little 13 year old goes through a major change-- like chubby, out of fashion, brunette to stick skinny, designer clothed blondie. And, amazingly that was little Maddie, Maeve's Ex-bestest friend for life.

This book was kind of superficial, it had a lot of really girly things in it that weren't things that I really care about. The story was kind of interesting; it was well written, and the words flowed easily. The story was about following your dream, but don't get carried away and forget your priorities, such as family and true friends.

I really liked this book. I loved how Maeve thought that Maddie was her friend, and when Maddie betrayed her, she found some true friends. And I also liked how she wanted the main role, but got a really cool, minor role. I reccomend this book to everyone who loves the BSG!!!
