It pains me to give such a low review, but going back and forth about it I decided that—as a reader—I would prefer to be warned.
1) First of all, the set-up suggests an enemies-to-lovers premise. This is incorrect, as Wulf forgives Luc ridiculously fast. It’s so weird that he says mean stuff about Luc and then does a complete 180 right away as soon as he meets him. Then—bam!—they’re in love despite not interacting for the previous 20 years.
2) Luc engaged in disturbing behavior in interactions with his “son” and I don’t feel it’s adequately addressed.
3) I can never—NEVER—condone violence to another person in a relationship. When Wulf beats on Luc at the end because he’s angry that was not okay with me. There’s no justification for abusing your partner that way.
4) I found the setting rather confusing and there were elements of the story that didn’t making sense—there were a bunch of throw-away aspects of world-building and mentions of characters that were not fully explained.
Overall, I was quite disappointed because the angst and relationship development I expected to see wasn’t there. Plus, the plot and setting were confusing. However, ultimately why I gave the book 2 stars rather than 3 was the physical violence between the two MCs.
Look, there are people who enjoyed this book, so maybe these aspects won’t bother you. If so, go for it, I just want you to know what you’re getting into.

I thought this story was ok. There are some elements that didn't work for me: Wulf's acceptance of Luc's darker side, especially regarding Senthys, without really working through it; Wulf and Luc's love in general (aside from the sex, I couldn't tell why they loved each other - the last time they saw each other Wulf was barely an adult, and suddenly twenty years later they are in love); and sometimes the dialogue was just too sugary (an abundance of "I love you" and "don't leave me" and "I cherish you," etc. that didn't align with their personalities, especially Luc's). I will say though that I never had a taste for champagne, but I quite like the use for it at the end of the book. :-)

So this book wasn't good nor bad. I get that it was an erotic book, but I just felt like the whole thing was over sexualized, and I'm still kind of confused on what the whole plot was. I liked the spicy scenes cause it was descriptive so you know the imagination is there. But the none spicy scenes were either dull or way too over the top. I will say this was my first dom/sub book. Overall quick read not awful. Can't say that I will finish the series though.

I received the KINDLE version of this book through a holiday giveaway on FaceBook, and the following is my honest opinion for this book. I read this book between March 9 and March 10 and I’m only now getting around to posting my review for it.

Being a Book Reviewer affords one the opportunity of reading books of every genre imaginable. While I’ve already reviewed books which contain futuristic, science fiction and romantic elements, as well as a M/M short story, this is the first time I’ve read this last element in a real novel.

I like the way Ms. Allen has melded all of the various genres this book contains into a single novel. There are surprises which are continually popping up especially when you consider the relationship between Wulf and Luc, a pair of guys who previously have been adversaries. I found this book to be a page turner because of this.

Just as it takes a certain male author to be able to write a decent romance novel, regardless of the sub-genre from a woman’s POV, it takes a certain woman to be able to write a M/M romance novel well; and apparently from my limited exposure to this genre, Ms. Allen succeeded.

If you’d like to read a different romance genre, which you’ve never read before, I’d consider reading this book.

Given the above, I’m happy to give Kayelle Allen 4 STARS for her endeavor here.

5 Stars for this Fabulous Gay Scifi-Romance

I found Wulf, Tales of The Chosen Book 1 of this wonderful series, captured my heart with its great characters, intriguing places like the well described setting of the Tarthian Empire. I was struck how talented the author was in building this solid world for me to believe in. BTW, Ms. Allen actually wrote the book on worldbuilding (the Tarthian Empire Companion), another awesome book to put on your TBL. Luc is my favorite hero in the empire series. He's tall, dark, and savage. An alpha of alphas. Wulf gives as good as he gets and Luc has to work hard to claim him. I give this book 5 STAR because Wulf kept me on the edge as he and Luc overcome their mutual distrust and learn how to trust each other.

4.5 stars rounded to 5 Whoa! HOT, just the way a MM romance should be

Wulf, universe-renown model and a good friend of Yvan and Trink's (owners of Batchelors), is in big trouble. For years he's been manipulated and lied to by his manager. When he tries to end their contract, he's threatened—in a very overt way, with death threats and attempts. Yvan and Trink recommends he seek the help of the only entity powerful enough to take on this agent and the company behind him, The Man. The Harbinger. Luc Saint-Cyr. Wulf rejects the idea. Why? Because he thinks Luc killed his father—and made him watch. The shift as Wulf finds what he thought he knew as a child is not real is interesting, if (maybe?) a little fast. As a man, he accepts his role os Luc's Chosen. He admits he loves Saint-Cyr and falls into a Dom/sub relationship that's hot as a Texas August afternoon.

This is a different kind of book than the others starring Luc, one of my favorite characters. For one thing, the scenes are explicit and (to me) tended to take greater precedence over the action of the book. I enjoyed seeing Luc's interactions with Senth in his teen years—just as stormy as human teen/parent relationships! Though Senth drives Luc crazy, his pride and love for the youngster are endearing. Even though there is a story that drives Luc and Wulf's pairing, The only real criticism I have is the nibbling scenes at the end where they sample a wealth of foods before sampling each other. I applaud Ms. Allen's foray into the open, wilder side of Luc Saint-Cyr and look forward to the next book in the series. I recommend.

Wulf Gabriel is at the top of his game as a male model. He's paid very well, but has to work long hours. He heads to the restaurant owned by some friends, Trink and Yvan, who are lovers as well as business partners. They have the kind of committed relationship that Wulf longs for, but despairs of ever finding for himself. This time, he explains to them that he's being threatened, and asks for their advice. They tell him they've both experienced that sort of thing, and were helped by the Man, AKA the Harbinger. Wulf knows who that is quite well--Luc Saint Cyr--the man his father worked for. But he never wants to see him again.

When the threat intensifies, Wulf reluctantly drops in on the man he never wanted to be beholden to. As the son of Luc's then-"Chosen" one, Wulf knows that Luc is a Sempervian--an eternal being who has lived for thousands of years, and probably will continue to live for thousands more. He's also one of the most powerful men in the universe. He's surprised, but gratified when Wulf asks for his help. But he insists that things will be done his way--and that Wulf has no choice but to obey him. They soon discover together that Wulf is a "natural submissive," and Luc briefly tries to fight his attraction to the young man. But that doesn't last long.

I was a bit confused at first, because there is so much referred to, that is obviously a part of the lore of the Sempervians. There are many books written about this world the author has created, and plunging into it with a book that's in the middle somewhere, creates more questions than it answers. But the love story between these two is steamy. There are detailed descriptions of sexual activities referred to before the story even starts, as BDSM practices that should only be tried under the supervision of someone who knows what he's doing. They must be humanly possible, though since Luc is immortal, he's sure to survive anything. Wulf is the one who has to be more careful.

Note: this book is a free download, to get you into the series. This book is a great introduction to a world that the author isn't done with, since she's still publishing books in this series.

I was given a copy of this book by Voracious Readers Only in exchange for a review, which I give willingly.
Oh my ... This is a naughty book!
Set in a distant future, in a multi-planet universe, where immortal beings seem to play a game with life ...
Wulf, a universally known super model, is threatened by his agent, and turns to his friends for support. They in turn go to the one person Wulf least wants to be involved ... The Semperverian (immortal) Luc, the Harbinger, who Wulf's family have served for generations, and who Wulf believe was responsible for his father's death.
But Wulf's feeling quickly change and the pair become lovers.
This really is an erotic gay science fiction book, and I will definitely be buying the next in the series!

I was immediately engrossed by this story of Wulf and Luc. Human and Sempervian. Wulf’s feelings for Luc go from hatred to love quite quickly despite events 20 years before and those feelings are reciprocated but Luc has secrets he cannot reveal, even to his new lover and Chosen. The world building is exceptional and the heat is plentiful. I liked the interaction but I wasn’t quite sure about the role of Luc’s adoptive son, Senthys. Maybe it will be revealed in a future book in the series but I loved the Android butler, he was perfect. The story background does feel a little incomplete but again hopefully it will be revealed in another book. There is a HFN for Wulf and Luc with a promise of more to come plot wise. I would definitely recommend this book.

Wulf and Luc romance could have been more detailed but somehow everything felt rushed. The sex wasn't my style either, I couldn't see the connection between them there. It seemed to me that Luc was after his pleasure only at the cost of Wulf's pain. I don't know. I'm just not a fan of BDSM. That aside, the book rested its oasis more on the duo than the challenges they were running from. Am afraid I was disappointed that the author didn't go deep on how Luc put that agent to task, it was just few sentences.

Well, with that said, I believe she is a good author. She makes you turn the pages and keeps one afloat, hoping for more. My favourite character was Senthy...he is the best.

This was a really interesting read for me. A M/M romance with sci fi and erotica thrown in!
I wasn't sure about the street slang used at the start of the book and felt that if this was how the characters were going to speak I would struggle. No need for that though as the language returned to 'normal' after a few pages.
I found it hard to reconcile that Wulf would fall in love so easily with Luc but that's what books are for - suspending belief.
The sex was well written and hot, not sure about Luc's treatment of Sentys but again I needed to suspend belief and just enjoy the tale. A good one it was too.

Wulf is under attack, his agent is determined that he is going to take his career in a certain direction, or he'll force him to. This forces Wulf to get help from Luc Saint-Cyr. The last person he wants back in his life, nevermind that he's been having hot as hell fantasies about him. Luc has been hoping for a chance to get Wulf back in his life and he'll do anything to keep him safe.

This was a really interesting read. I enjoyed reading about how these two men figure out not only their past but also deal with the fact that Luc will live forever. I like that Luc takes ownership of his mistakes and I think that Wulf is really brave for opening his heart up. Also Luc as a father.. wow. I wasn't sure about certain parts but you could tell he did really care for his adoptive son. Overall it was a really interesting story.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book through Voracious Readers Only.

Enemies-to-lovers isn't one of my favorite tropes, but I did enjoy the characters here, and the world-building is pretty descriptive. I inadvertently read the second book in the series first, so this one added some interesting backdrop to that one (after the fact.) It was interesting to see the beginning of these characters relationship after reading where things went in book 2. Intriguing and spicy story.

This was unlike anything I have ever read before! It’s like sci-fi set in the distance future where all kinds of being exist. The author explains the characters very well and gives us an insight into their pasts and why they feel/act the way they do. It has some extremely, super steamy scenes with M/M and is an enemies to lovers in the end!

Action, suspense, hot, and sexy. This story has it all. Wulf is a top model and is being threatened. He goes to the one man that can help him, Luc Saint-Cyr. There is history between them and hurt, but Luc will do anything for Wulf. I wish this would've been a bit longer. I wanted to see them age together and help Senthys mature past school age. I also wanted to see Luc submit to Wulf for once.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review. What I didn’t realize until I went to leave a review is that I already downloaded this book for free back in March. 🤦‍♀️

Pretty good and very interesting read.

Recommend if you like these tropes.

I got this book from Voracious Readers in return for an honest review.

This is pretty different from the stuff I usually read but I enjoyed the book overall. The sex was hot, but I do think the storyline from them being enemies to lovers was rushed.

I must start by saying that I met the author at an FB party. She was a guest author and I had the pleasure of winning three of her books. I didn't know anything about Ms. Allen or her books at the time. When the books arrived, I have to admit I was a little skeptical as I had never read books of this genera (MM). But I am glad I did. The story was fun and exciting. So much so that after I read Wulf (the 1st in the Chosen series), I continued reading the series to date.

Wulf is a successful model in a futuristic world. When he gets into a spot of trouble, he has to turn to Luc, the one man he vowed to never have any type of relationship with due to events when Wulf was a young. Luc has secretly longed to be a part of Wulf's life but has respected Wulf's wishes and stayed away from him. When the two get together to solve Wulf's troubles sparks file - squabbling on the outside yet lusting on the inside. Will the two settle their past differences? Will they ever trust each other? Is Luc really what he appears to be and has Wulf misjudged him? Will they act on their lustful feelings or part ways? Wulf's story is sinfully wicked and the book's subplot, that continues through the series, is very interesting and will keep you wondering what will happen next and with whom.

Highly recommend and if you haven't given Ms. Allen's Science Fiction Romance World a try - I highly recommend you do.

Wulf is a very complicated story. It is part of the Tarthian Empire, one of the Tales of the Chosen.

Luc is a Sempervians, an immortal creature who aged and died but alwayw reborn to new lifes. Wulf is the son of one of his Chosen, human people choose to serve and protect the Sempervians. When Wulf's dad died, his mother move with him on Kelthia, another planet, and Luc lost his heart. Cause he loves his Chosen, and had loved Wulf's father like a friend and Wulf like a son.

But now, 20 years later, Wulf return to him and his love is something else: he wants Wulf like lover and no one can deny him something.

I like Luc: he is the master in this affair, but he is also much more "human" than the real humans; he feels pain and cries, he loves and hates. Wulf, instead, is an omega male, very smart in intellect, but fragile when feelings are involved. He needs the strong figure of Luc, and when he finds him, he willingly gives all he has to him.

The world that Kayelle Allen creates is very complex and huge; she can set here many stories without problem. Maybe so huge, that only one story isn't enough to better understand it.

YES! Top of my favorites list

I was totally engaged by this story. I had no expectations as I began reading, but if I had I would not have been disappointed. The characters here are unique and captured me. I would highly recommend this book to my best friends as well as strangers with only the warning that there is some BDSM involved, though for me it was light and further developed the characters involved. A question raised for me: given the advanced date and technology, what would have happened to cyborgs? Their characters and status is not clear and could have major impact in the society described, imho.

The blurb implied one plot, but after ch#1 the book continued with a basic, sex-heavy romance?? IMO the blurb should be amended as misleading. A great start, vivid characters, dramatic plot, promise of intriguing worldbuilding - then disappointment for me.
