Emily is delighted her lively new tabby kitten, Charlie, is settling in so well – if only he would just wear a collar! Then Emily is picked to join her school football team and suddenly she hardly has any time for entertaining a kitten. Charlie is bored now Emily has no time to play with him, so he ventures over the back wall to explore. There he meets a new friend, a cat-loving lady who makes lots of fuss over him. But Emily soon starts to notice that Charlie keeps disappearing and one night he doesn't come back at all. What if he doesn't want to be her kitten any more? A new story from best-selling author Holly Webb, perfect for animal-loving children.
Holly Webb is one of Britain's best-loved children's writers. She has written over a hundred books for children, and her work has been translated into over thirty languages. Holly lives in Tilehurst, just outside of Reading, Berkshire, with her husband, three children and several cats.
What was the story about? Darcy got a kitten called Charlie. Charlie got lost lots of times but he always came back. One time he did not return. Mum & Dad were worried about it so they helped Darcy put posters up. Their neighbour Rose found Charlie on her rug & bought him home. Everyone was happy because Charlie was home.
Who were the characters? Will, Dave (Dad), Charlie, Darcy, Mum, Rose.
What did you like about the book? Charlie kept loosing his collar like Olly. I liked it when Charlie came back safe.
When Darcy and her family get a kitten she's super excited but as she joins the school football team and is home later with less time for cheeky Charlie her new cat he goes missing, can they find where their lonely kitten has ran off to?
This book teaches the importance of pets and making them feel welcomed and loved especially in their early life and first days or weeks with you. It was a short but big impact story all children can learn from how to show their cat they love them.
I really liked that unlike all of the other books in the series in this one not all of the family members were crazy about the pet like they usually are.
