Almost little book by Michelle. It was so sweet and yet super cheeky ♡
This is the start of a group of friends, Piper, Sadie, Olivia (Liv) and Katriel (Kat). Three of these four friends have not had their first kiss and so it is Piper' s goal to have each of them have their first kiss before the summer ends and they all go off to college.
Piper's first challenge is her best friend Kat. But Kat only has eyes for one, the one who she can't have. Why? It's Tate. Her best friend's older brother.
She's been crushing on him for years but she knows Piper hates all his girldfriends and she does not want to be added to that list. So like always she stats quiet and watches him with every girl.
But with only a few weeks of summer left, and Piper being pushy about her having a first kiss, will she have her first kiss be forgettable with someone she just met or will she try to get Tate's attention?

Katriel Pearson (Kat) has just graduated from high school her 18th birthday is only 8 days away. When Piper, one of her best friends, finds out at a post graduation beach party Kat's never been kissed, It becomes Piper's mission to get her kissed before the end of summer when they'll all go to college. But Kat doesn't want to be kissed by just any guy--she wants to be kissed by Piper's older brother, Tate, who she's had a major crush on for the past 3 years!
This story is about first times and finding yourself. Not just Kat's first kiss, but her first love, and figuring out what she really wants to do and having the courage to do it. She realizes she's always done what's been expected of her and not rocked the boat, but she doesn't want to go away to college because she doesn't know what she wants to study.
I don't read a lot of YA books, but these characters have graduated high school so there wasn't as much teenage drama. This is a fun summer read, and had me thinking back to my high school graduation (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth) and applying for a summer job like Kat did. I loved that her summer job is what helped her decide what she really wanted to do.
There were a lot of sweet moments like when Piper threw Kat a spur of the moment surprise birthday party, and when Tate gave her a box of her favorite donuts as a gift. Aww. Let's not forget that totally swoony, toe-curling first kiss. (sigh)

Her Secret Crush
What a fun idea for a young adult, high school age series! First kisses. In this book it's summer in a coastal town. Kat has been crushing on her best friend's brother, Tate, for so long and now she is faced with moving away for college, leaving everyone behind. She just can't leave without taking a chance to see if she can start something with Tate. The tension has a quick build and sparks fly. The first kiss scene was awesome! I would have loved to see this story a bit more layered in depth and longer. It was over before I was ready. But it was a sweet first love romance, perfect for the teenage crowd and a day by the pool or beach. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Kat has just graduated from high school and has never been kissed, but she's sure been crushing hard on her best friend's older brother. Piper, the friend, has a mission to see her three best friends kissed by summer's end. There's something always intriguing to me about this trope and it was fun to watch it unfold, especially with a few unexpected twists.
Summertime is magical, especially when you live in Florida by the beach, but when you add a first love, first kiss, and first romance into the equation, it's like unicorns and rainbows. Tate is a typical older brother and a huge flirt, but once he gives his heart, there's no question about where he stands.
Once that first kiss was given, butterflies erupted in an earth shattering movement across my stomach because Holy Swoon! That kiss was well worth the wait!
These characters are sweet and fun, but I wished a few parts had been developed a little more. I wanted more juicy details and wasn't completely satisfied--it was like eating half a donut, instead of the whole thing. But the story line is fun and definitely swoony, and I'm excited to read the rest of this new series!

This is a sweet YA. YA isn't my favorite romance genre because I think kissing and serious dating should be saved for after high school. Luckily, this book starts at high school graduation. It was fun to be reminded of that crazy time in life when everything is changing. Kat is trying to figure out what she wants out of life and maybe find some gumption in the process. Kat and Tate are really cute together. I enjoyed the friends to lovers/best friend's brother trope.

I really enjoyed this book. I started reading before bed and kept reading into the night. The pacing is good and keeps the reader involved. Kat and Tate are fun to read about. The group of friends dynamics brings back fun memories of high school. I highly recommend this book.

This book was so fun. Kat is smart and cute and spunky. I loved her friendship with Tate. The way they teased each other with a good sense of humor was fun. Things change between them though when Tate's sister Piper finds out that a bunch of the girls in her friend group--including Kat--have never been kissed. They've just graduated from high school, and this is likely their last summer together. Piper sets a goal for them to be kissed before the end of summer.
Since Kat has been crushing on Tate for three years and has always wanted him to be her first kiss, she's less than enthusiastic. Oddly enough, when Tate hears about it, he turns all weird. He's had plenty of girlfriends over the years but none of them seem to last. He even has a girlfriend right now. So why is he acting so weird?
This is a fun story about a girl who has to learn to speak up for what she wants--not just to Piper but to others in her life who think they get to decide what's best for her.

“I just can’t let your first kiss be with some random guy.” He came closer. So close I could see the different shades of blue in his eyes and the texture of his tanned skin. “Not when I’ve been wanting to kiss you for way too long.”
This is my first time reading this author's book and I liked this!
Kate has been in love with her best friends older brother Tate for a long time
But unfortunately, this relationship would be impossible in the first place
Tate has treated her like another little sister for years,
and her best friend would also be against this relationship
Tate has also had feelings for Kate for a long time but since she is a minor,
he hasn't done anything about it he has had many girls,
but not that he had feelings for them, just push his feelings away from Kate
But when he hears that his sister is planning Date for Kate he decides to intervene
It was a well-written bit of jealousy there is a lot of love between the two characters ❤️

Kat was just about to turn 18 years old. She had been crushing on Tate, her best friend's older brother for several years. But, she was sure he would never see her as anything as his little sister's best friend. Besides, he had a new girl on his arm at every turn. She could never tell anyone her secret. But her friend was determined to help "arrange" for her first kiss. Kat was determined that she would only be satisfied if her first kiss was from Tate.
This was a sweet, clean young adult romance that could be enjoyed by those of all ages. The chemistry was well written and the story has a happy ending. I enjoyed reading it very much.

A sweet, swoony YA contemporary romance
Kay is getting ready to turn 18, and is ready for her first kiss- especially if it can be with her best friend’s brother, Tate. The thing is, Piper, her best friend, can’t stand any of the girls’ her brother dates, and Kat’s afraid to upset her. Kat realizes though, that she and her friends are growing up, and maybe it’s time she makes her own decisions

The first half of the book is well paced and sucked me in....the last 25% felt like a rush to the finish line with a sprint for the last few pages and then an epilogue from a different POV that belongs at the beginning of the next book in the series. I just felt a little let down with the quick resolution to Kat's college decision, Tate abruptly moving out, and Piper's 180 about her feelings and ability to forgive & forget.

I don’t typically give 5 stars to shorter novels, and I would love to see more between these two characters, but overall this was a super fun, clean read. But I really prefer a book that takes me more than just a couple of hours to read! Great chemistry between the two characters and a sweet plot that brings them together. I enjoy their conversations and interactions with each other - the way they are written feels very natural. Now I’ll just have to read the other books in the series 😍

Loved it!
I really enjoyed this book. The whole series is great: sweet, fun, feel-good. The stories are interrelated, as they are about a group of friends, and I think that makes it even better. Definitely recommend this book and series!
