A really extraordinary read, a first hand account of the Terror; in particular the imprisonment and eventual execution of King Louis XVI written by his valet. I was surprised at how moving it was to read what is really a quite brief, straightforward account. It genuinely gave me new incite into this well known and somewhat romantisied period of history.

This was a wonderful find, a really interesting book looking at power and fear and worth reading.
I think it's humbling and important to see the human side of such events as the terror and the fact this is real account is very thrilling. A nice quick read too.
Wonderful.

Definitely worth reading. Very solemn but also very fascinating to have that first hand account of the Reign of Terror.
