Story takes place in the Omegaverse. Hobson Hills Omegas: Book Four
Dean Wagner hasn't had an easy life. He was raped and forced to give up his newborn when he was eighteen, then pushed into a marriage with a horrible alpha. Fortunately, he left all that behind when his abusive husband died and Dean was reunited with his eldest son. The silver lining of his life has always been his children - his beautiful omega sons. Now that he and his family are safe and happy in Hobson Hills, can Dean finally dream of more?
Raymond Potts is a thirty-four-year-old beta. He is a beta completely, irrevocably in love with an omega. He has been Dean's friend and confidant for months now, but Ray is afraid to take the next step. Can a beta and an omega work? Is Dean even ready for a relationship after all he has been through? Ray can't decide and he doesn't want to lose his friend and the adorable children he has come to love.
The two men work to build a lasting relationship despite age differences and societal expectations. However, Michael Cook is still out there, and his attention just focused on the omega he hurt so many years ago.
Author's Note: Around 37,000 words. This is a m/m, non-shifter, mpreg love story with no angst and no cheating, just a HEA. The MCs are an omega and a beta with an age difference. There are a few potty mouths, so beware. 18+ readers only, please. It is the fourth book in the series and should be read after "Romancing the Omega."
I have been self-publishing since October 2018. My books are extremely light and fluffy m/m romance with mpreg, and while they span a few subgenres of romance, they have similar themes of found family and love at first sight. Besides writing, I enjoy reading everything I can get my hands on, especially m/m romance. My personal favorites are mpreg, sci-fi, fantasy, and paranormal.
This was book 4 in the " Hobson Hills Omegas " series. Dean Wagner has been through a lot he was raped at 18 and forced to give up his baby he was forced to marry an abusive Alpha who mentally and physically abused him for years. We met Dean in book 3 when his son Yeo and the Wilson's and Benson's rescued him and his four son's after his alpha died. Beta Ray Potts is one of Carter's best friends he was also there when Dean was rescued. He knows that Dean isn't ready for love so he becomes his friend and patiently waits. This was a really sweet read both of these characters think they are not good enough for the other Dean because he has scars from years of abuse and Ray because he grew up with a stepfather who was mentally abusive. Ray is a non violent person he is good with computers and finding people. When trouble comes there way he will do anything to protect Dean and the boys. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Rating: 4 stars After reading the events in the previous book, I was really interested in reading Dean’s story. This one was a bit darker than the previous ones, although there were many more lighthearted moments. Also, as the series progresses it gets a bit more difficult to keep the characters and their multitude of pets and children straight. I was glad that Dean actually went to therapy to help him deal with his trauma. Too many times authors use true love to solve mental issues and while it's nice in a fantasy, it isn’t realistic.
Overall, I continue to enjoy this series and look forward to the next installment.
The Hobson Hills Omegas series just got better!! C.W.Gray has created a fantastic world. It will pull you in, make you a part of it, not let you go. The characters, old and new, are so full of life! This book does stand alone. But, if you haven't read the first three books, do it, now. Dean is a "broken" omega. Finally free from the clutches of two abusive relationships, He and his children have found a safe haven. He has found farm work both satisfying and therapeutic. His best friend Ray, watches the kids, cooks, and basically takes care of Dean and his brood. Too bad he's beta, right? Or can a beta and an omega find the love they both deserve. There are bad guys still out there who threaten everything and everyone Dean loves. There is family to rescue, a totally unexpected pregnancy, loyal friends, bravery, courage, hopes and dreams. Did I mention steamy MM sex? Babies? Lots of kids? Cute and very protective animals? You are gonna love this book! Due to language, mature themes, some violence, and MM sex, this book is intended for 18+ readers.
I was eager to read Dean and Ray’s story. Dean is Yeo’s omega dad who’d been abused by Yeo's other bio dad and the alpha who married him later, the father of his other children. Dean’s horrible husband was killed and Dean and all his children were brought to Maine to live near Yeo. All that happened in Yeo’s book, Romancing the Omega. Ray, a private detective and best friend of Carter (a MC from the first book) also helped bring Dean and his boys to Maine.
Dean and Ray struck up a friendship that’s gotten closer over the past year. Ray is at Dean’s place every day helping out with the kids, including newly adopted Min, who’s around a year old. It’s all so domestic. Min even calls Ray Dada. They may be just friends but each man wants more. Dean feels broken, like he’s not good enough for Ray. It’s always been drilled into Ray's head that omegas (like Dean) are supposed to be with alphas. With Ray being a beta, he’s convinced Dean would never want him as more than a close friend.
All that changes with help from a bunch of kids and nosy friends and townsfolk.
I’ve read books with loud, nosy families. This series kind of takes the cake. Each time it looked like Ray and Dean might have a few minutes alone, somebody else popped up. I’m not talking about their kids. I’m talking grown people who were trying to get them together but wouldn’t allow them any privacy to be together.
Even so, I liked Ray and Dean together. There’s drama from Dean and Yeo’s past that takes a little while to be handled. I was a little surprised with how it was handled.
There’s a bit of humor and one particular scene that had me rolling my eyes. There was a cat fight over Ray with a woman calling him her ‘chocolate stallion’. I didn’t find it funny at all. It all came across as silly. There’s a lot of talk about women being all over Ray and trying to get close to him. I was thinking, “Okay, we get it. The man’s big and he’s hot. Move on, please.”
Fawn, Summer’s mother and Yeo’s stepmother, is in this book a little. I’m not a fan and probably never will be.
I liked all the kids and all the animals. I like the large Wilson family well enough, but the more I read about them, the more I’m wanting them in smaller doses.
This is a nice romance. I would have liked it a whole lot more had Ray and Dean had more than a few alone moments. They couldn’t even go on a date without nosy friends and family jumping in and being part of it.
I’ve read all the books and shorts in this series up to this one in only a matter of days. I think it’s time to walk away for a little while and come back to it another time. I'm still enjoying the series but the 'people always being around thing' is starting to get old.
Read this book if you want to smile, laugh, and cheer as the bad guys go down.
In this book Dean (O), Yeo’s omega father, is settling into Hobson Hills and the Wilson family with his sons and newly adopted baby. Ray (B) is over everyday helping out. Both like each other and want the other but both feel unworthy. Ray believes that because he is a beta, he will have to step aside when Dean meets an alpha he wants. Dean believes that his internal and external scars from years of abuse and his age means that Ray would never want him. Many problems arise for the characters and the large extended family jumps in to help when it can.
This book continues the subplots of the side characters and what is happening in town. There are a lot of different threads coming together in this book, both from the previous books in the series and the Hobson Hills Shorts. While this book continues with an overall happy outlook, there is more depth to this story than the previous books.
This book is rated 4 Stars. The story is like the previous books in this series and is fast paced, hurrying toward the HEA. This book flows well, however, there is a superfluous amount of ecstatic word choices. While this keeps the story upbeat, there are a lot of bad things the characters are dealing with that might be better served with a more serious tone. This book also introduces us to a new character who is gender fluid.
Side Note: The side characters you are introduced to in this book have, or may in the future get, a book of their own. Every character is unique and the individual books in this series reflect this.
Personal Note: I like this book more than the previous ones in the series. However, the relatively easy solutions to PTSD and such within this book frustrate me. I felt like there was a lot more depth, comparatively, to this book than the previous books. My favorite part of this book is the scene where Ray and Dean finally go on a date… And the cops have to get involved. That had me cracking up!
Ok, so this series keeps getting more and more ridiculous but I can't seem to stop. First of all, there are SO many people to keep track of (even with the helpful family tree). On top of that, there are way too many names starting with J, including duplicates like Jackson. It just makes it harder to enjoy the story if I'm trying to figure out who's talking and which family they're on. Secondly, this series has a habit of having these ridiculously out of control bouts of conflict that feel a bit out of place within the story. There was a scene in this one where Dean and this waitress, Linda, basically go feral on each other in the middle of a diner because Linda was sexually harassing Ray. It was just super dramatic and there was a lot of hair pulling and scratching, like angry cats. Dean is supposed to be 47 years old so I'm having a hard time envisioning a man that age doing any of that, let alone this random woman screeching about Ray being hers, sitting on his lap and forcing her tongue down his throat in broad daylight at her place of work. It was just over the top and made the story seem a bit ridiculous. Then we get to the main conflict with Yeo and Dean's blood relatives, who are apparently just as unhinged as this waitress, running drugs and sending armed men to Maine to murder their offspring. Wtf? Granted this has been an ongoing theme in each of these books so far, but it's getting a bit predictable at this point. And I don't know who's related to who anymore and random kids keep showing up to get adopted by one of the family branches and I'm just really confused. But for some reason I'm going to keep going. Maybe Abel's story will be different?

Dean Wagner has endured a lifetime of trauma — losing his newborn after an assault, surviving a cruel marriage, and only finding peace once his husband died and he reunited with his eldest son. Now safe in Hobson Hills with his omega sons, he finally lets himself hope for more. Raymond Potts, a gentle beta who’s fallen for Dean, worries about risking their friendship and the bond he’s built with the children. Still, their connection grows as they try to build something real despite age gaps and society’s expectations. But danger resurfaces when Michael Cook turns his attention back to the omega he hurt years ago.
This story beautifully shows the deep love and steady care Ray gives Dean and his family as Dean continues to heal from the abuse he suffered under his late husband. I loved watching that gentle support slowly grow into something deeper and more meaningful between them. Just when everyone thinks the danger is behind them, it resurfaces — and Ray is right there, protecting Dean and standing firmly by his side. It’s a sweet love story with touches of danger and drama, written in a way that’s easy to read and easy to feel. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.
I've been looking forward to reading Ray's and Dean's story. The horror that Dean has endured along with his children is despicable. It might have been stopped, but those in a position to intervene never did. Dean and his sons had been so broken mentally (and Dean physically) they themselves had no way to escape without outside help. This came in the form of the Wilsons & Bensons & associates riding to the rescue.
All of this violence has made Dean very self-conscious of his looks, physical disabilities, nightmares, and desires for the one man he can't have. Ray was prepared to wait as long as necessary as long as he could remain in Dean's and the boys' lives. Ray knew despite his intense attraction to him, Dean would eventually find an Alpha, after all he was only a Beta.
Though they spent time together everyday these two weren't talking to each other, but everyone else knew they were destined for each other. The realization was a magical moment for the both of them.
This would have been just a sweet sweet romance except the villainous Cook family. They were vile, cruel, and ruthless. Be warned. The violence in this book can be disturbing.
To my ratings: A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year), it's like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok) It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
These are cotton candy mpreg romances with some drama from the outside and sweet romances with with lots of animals and kids.
This is a loverly one with a friends to lovers vibe though Ray has always been into Dean but Dean needed time to come into his own. Dean has been really mistreated but is a wonderful father and has found the son (or the son found him) he was forced to give up for adoption. He is starting over in Maine.
He comes into his own and Ray is a kind man who loves him and his childern. One of the main villains of the series gets his and that is always fun. You should read these in order but if you are looking for sweet simple mpreg with deep HEAs, you should like it.
Two beautiful souls who find a true and beautiful love. Dean truly deserves all the happiness and love in the world after everything he went through and Ray is the perfect man to giver it to him. They are great together and I was so glad that they could finally find their happiness together and form a beautiful family. I wish they didn't have to go through what the Cook family put them through but everything worked out in the end. I really liked the narrator's performance much better in this story than in the previous one. His character voices were very concise and I could feel more emotion in this one. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.
Healing the Omega is the fourth book in the Hobson Hills Omegas series by C.W. Gray. It is a sweet love story between Dean and Ray - an omega who had a rough life but does everything he can for his family...and a Beta who sees the true Value of the battered but strong omega. The story is sweet, funny and has little drama. I smiled through this story.
The characters are fun and entertaining. I love how they interact with one another. This family is amazing and I cant wait to see what happens next in this series.
I love this series so much! I love all the extended family and friends and all the cute animals! Ray and Dean's story was amazing, even if at the beginning they both thought they coudn't be more than friends with the other, their relationships evolves seemingly effortlessly into love when they both admit their feelings. I love the narration by Kaeomakana Tiwanak. I love how in this series there's always a background story of something or the other going wrong, behind the romance, but in the end it's not teh focius and it doesn't detract from the characters' love story!
The descriptions create characters that the reader easily grows to love and care about. The acceptance of non-binary and gender variant people is beautiful. As the parent of a gender-fluid young person, I truly appreciate that there is an author that handles the topic with such grace. I can't wait to read more about the people and love in this wonderful little town.
My love for these books are everything! I absolutely love this Author. This book was just as the others to me Amazing!!! There is only one little tiny thing I would add to this book and that's I would have liked to have more lol but no seriously I would have like a little more like I would loved to have read about them getting married but overall it was awesome most read if you read the other ones
This was another great addition to the Hobson Hills Omega series. I loved getting to read about Dean and Ray. Dean had had such a hard life so far and I great seeing him get his HEA. I also loved that so many of the other omegas got out of their abusive relationships. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, which is a story about Justin and Tanner. I read this book using the Kindle Unlimited program.
Very few authors can make me laugh and cry in the same book and still make me want to read more and C. W. Gray always manages to do just that. The story was amazing and so well put together. If I could have given it more stars I would have. Very rare that I ever give a book five stars.
I really love the series and the characters so far But I must say that the characters are little bit overwhelming I mean there's a lot of them and it's kind of hard to keep track of who's with who ,who's kid belongs to who and who's pet belongs to what family but overall it's a really entertaining story. I like it
OMW... even with the charts my head is spinning with names and relationships... ;p
As usual, it is the characters that lead me to read the next book! I think that if this author didn't write such amazing characters I would have probably just walked away from this series by now, but alas, I just have to KNOW who is getting their story next and what "bad" guy is going to go down next! *grin*
I don't know how these books keep being enthralling and awesome. I love how families are reunited and how the families add more and more pets and have love for everyone. The characters keep building and I highly recommend reading the first book and so forth. Thank you C. W. Gray for these amazing books! Wished the wedding was included!
Another sweet story for this series. I love reading about characters who experienced bad pasts getting their happy endings. Dean really had a tough past, he was abused terribly but still managed to protect his children. Family love, adopted family and biological family, is such a core feature of this series and I adore that. Family is everything. The animal menagerie grows! I love it.
This is a one click series for me and this one did not disappoint. It had all the feels and animals I could handle plus one seriously sweet beta and an omega who deserved his first real shot at love.
I really love this series. All the characters are great and it is awesome how the Wilson family looks out for their friends and loved ones. It was so nice it see Dean get a happy ending after what he went through and to see more of his boys.
This series is very good and so far I’ve loved all the books. The only that disappoints me about all the books are the quick summarized ending in all the books, the author rushes all the ending to quickly end on a HEA ending.
I cried so much because what they all went through as a family. By the end I was so happy that they all got their happy endings. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series
Ray and Dean's story is about redemption. Dean comes from a extremely abusive marriage, he is brought to Maine to start over with his 4 Omega sons. Ray helps Dean heal and well you have to read this book!!!
A whole series of books - lots of insta-lust, love and sex with sexy MC's and secondary characters who get their own story next, and so it goes throughout the series. Very entertaining and easy reading. Glad I planned to read them all, they were definitely best read one after the other in order.
Poor Dean couldn't catch a break. I didn't like how Ray barely did anything when that waitress, Linda, was all over him. He should've been more stern and fended her off.
Overall, the book is way too sweet and fluffy for my liking.
With a little help from friends, family, and protective pets, life is so much better and fun, too! Enjoy how Ray and Dean make the leap from friends to boyfriends, fight off the bad guys, and find time for adult, steamy moments!!!
