I've dealt with my share of homelessness. I've endured being the bad gal in the room. I’ve taken a lot of life’s punches on the chin. But never did I expect to be forced to attend an academy full of power-hungry delinquents. Born with powers far too great to control, I ended up homeless at eight years old. With my family gone, I lived on the streets, learning quickly that the world was just as cold as my beating heart. Because I carry all eight magic elements, enemies sought me out from every dark corner. Luckily, I was saved and taken in by Alaric Masters, headmaster of Tracker Hive Academy. My name is Jade Storm, and I’m the youngest recruit to become a Tracker. Now that I'm eighteen, Alaric is insisting that I attend the academy. I’ll do it, but on my own terms. My only goal is to learn just how powerful I am and breeze through the next four years. I have no interest in joining any cliques, and I’m not here to make friends. If there’s one thing life has taught me, it’s that I work best alone. However, the Troubled Four — Zeke, Zion, Zackery, and Zeus — have other plans. Quadruplets who together carry all eight elements, the boys are desperate to make me submit to their trickery. They’re stupid to think I’ll play by anyone's rules but my own. I can handle whatever threats, traps, bullying, and schemes are thrown my way, because I'm not here to be a good student. I'm here to keep my secret safe from those who will do everything to see me perish. Game on. This is an 18+ Academy Romance.
This is a preachy porn book wrapped up in a fantasy tortilla. Sure, you think you're going to read about a young woman with powers who is attending a cutthroat academy and solving a mystery with the help of four hot guys, but what do you actually get? Half-ass preaching attempts and erotic scenes.
Jade is awful. She's supposed to be independent and sassy, but she comes off as a bitch. She's rude to her adoptive father, her tutor, her trainer, basically everyone. And most people (unless the plot needs them to do otherwise) just shut up and take it because Jade is oh-so amazing.
The guys? Well, you really only get to know one of them. Zeke is the flirtatious bad boy who hangs all over Jade and slobbers on her like he's a starving dog and she's a piece of meat. The others you don't see much of. They each get a chapter dedicated to them and then that's mostly it because Jade is always flirting and screwing Zeke. She does have sex with... Zeus, I think, but it comes out of nowhere.
Calvin, the boy she saved from bullies who barely makes an appearance, suddenly proclaims that he's the villain's son and needs to right his father's wrongs. Oh-kay.
Shadow Jade... why is she a thing? She's a super simple, stupid version of Jade. She speaks in broken sentences, sings about killing people, and apparently no one notices that she's insane. When Jade pretends to be her, no one realizes that she speaks in complete sentences and they think she's Shadow Jade. The whole thing is just stupid.
The so-called mystery is about how students have been committing suicide and it's up to Jade to find out if there are nefarious forces behind it. Well, if you're expecting that, run away now. It's brought up once, and doesn't appear again until the end, when the answer neatly falls into Jade's lap.
I skipped the sex scenes. I found them crass and cringy. I'm not an erotica reader, but still. Ick.
This book tries to tackle serious, real issues of our world, but they're lame attempts and come across as preachy. Homelessness, wasting food, the environment, climate control, sexuality, law enforcement, mental illness, women's rights. They're mostly given a short, one paragraph spiel, and that's it.
Homelessness: Jade was homeless at age eight. Apparently people used to tell her she was worthless and to get a job. Huh? I could see passersby saying that to an adult, especially if they're panhandling, but an eight-year-old child? Riiiiiiiight.
Wasting Food: Because Jade was homeless, she hates wasting food, even if it's under-cooked, made poorly, tastes bad, etc. Sounds like a case of salmonella in the making, but that's just me. Apparently clearing your plate is good, because there are starving children in Africa.
The Environment/Climate Change: Recycling is good. Jade and Shadow Jade make a point to sort their trash. This would be fine, except it's brought up once and never again. It's just used as an excuse to preach about how landfills are overfilling and the ozone is dying and global warming is upon us. (Global warming isn't a thing. It's climate change.)
Sexuality: Tanner is revealed to be gay. Jade makes fun of him, but in the same breath says that it's cool because people don't choose who they're attracted to and it was the way they were made. Okay, sure, but maybe don't make constant jokes out of it? Not cool.
Law Enforcement: Jade looks down on forensic evidence, saying if you have trace amounts of something on your clothes from a crime scene, you will be arrested and falsely imprisoned. Sounds oddly specific, author. Also, she goes off on a tangent about the cops asking female rape victims what they was wearing and claims they were asking for it.
Mental Illness: Oh, boy. Pages and pages of Jade waxing poetic about how no one ever cares about people with mental illness. She had hallucinations as a kid, and people looked down on her. Medication is bad! Mentally ill people are all alone! No one ever helps! Ugh.
Women's Rights: Jade dresses like a slut and makes a point to mention it all of the time. When she runs into a trio of girls who do the same, she sneers at how trampy they look. Of course, she follows it up with how they can dress however they want, until they get raped and the cops say they were asking for it. Oi.
It's just a huge mess.
At the end, we find out that, once again, another author doesn't realize that you cannot hide important information that the narrator knows while in first person. Jade killed her family. Was she manipulated? Yes. Doesn't change facts. She's been spouting all book that they were murdered, without a wisp of a thought to how.
The only thing futuristic about this novel is the year. If you’re reading this in hopes of a mystery in a futuristic fantasy type world, move on. This feels like YA with shades of bad porn thrown in. The FMC Jade was a self involved brat with poor social skills. She annoyed me. The H were interchangeable, with the exception of Zeke they lacked clear personalities. “Shadow Jade” was a pointless character. The mystery which was the entire premise of the FMC & H(s) attending the school was sidelined in favor of cringe worthy (badly written) sex scenes. The writing was clunky all around. Oh & the dialogue was exceptionally bad. It wasn’t at all pleasant to read & I should’ve DNF’d it early in. TBH I kept holding out trying to decide if my dislike of the narrator was the reason I was having a hard time with the story. After careful consideration I came to the conclusion it all sucked.
I recommend this book to fans of Yumoyori Wilson. All others not at all.
It's the year 2504 and Jade is living on the street, after her family was killed. Not only is there nowhere for her to go, but she's also being hunted for her powers, by people that want to sell her on the black market. With only the company of the elements she commands, she's barely surviving - and the people she sees on the street treats her as she's something yucky under their shoe. This makes it hard for Jade to recognise friendliness and kindness when she finally sees it. However, Alaric Masters takes Jade in and offers up his home and protection, but Jade is afraid it will all come tumbling down on her, when he learns of her destructive elements. Enter Shadow Jade. Jade's element of Darkness likes to take on the form of Jade, and has her own eerie and childlike persona. Shadow Jade is one of the best characters! Ever!! All she wants is to protect Jade, destroy and kill things and collect as many dolls and plush toys as possible - which makes her extremely easy going. In order to hide how powerful Jade's Dark element is, Shadow Jade is enrolled as her twin.
For the first 30 percent of the book, I did not like the heroine, Jade, at all. As in not even a tiny little bit. What was an attempt at snark and sass just seemed like pure rudeness and childish opposition, at least to me. Especially in regards to Tanner, one of the grownup's who actually helps take care of her. And I was so disappointed the other adults didn't just encourage it, but also helped facilitate it. There was no real reason for Jade's dislike of Tanner, which almost borderes on bullying when her adopted dad and his girlfriend joins in. It seems that the fact that it entertains Jade and pisses him off is enough.
BUT THEN... OH MY character development!! I LOVE that Jade isn't one of the typical virgins in distress, but more of a romance novice. Reading about how she's slowly opening up (very slowly), which stays true to all that she's been through - and the trauma and scars she surely feels from her tragic childhood. As for the guys... well for once I didn't love them completely. Their relationship with Jade is filled with instant and sizzling attraction, which is fine. But the way it developed felt somewhat sloppy to me! It went from light flirting, a few stolen kisses here and there, to the biggest love declarations, all in a span of a few chapters.
I was very pleased to notice, that the author has toned down on the amount of blushing, whining and pouting done by the characters. Yumo is notorious for having characters in their 20's that do all three things, in extreme excess. So the fact that she's cut back on it makes it makes the characters more wholesome and emotionally mature. If I could rate based on the characters alone, I would give Shadow Jade a fantasillion hearts. She's the absolute best!! But since that doesn't seem fair, so instead I'll give the book four hearts.
Loved the book cover and the storyline blurb. Except, the mc was too immature. The skipping like a child just didn't make the mc endearing. I liked the mc at first but once she met the quadruplets it went down hill. It's all about insta lust, pornographic discussions on sex with the mc being 18, and the dialogues were crude/immature. There was no romance build up. The storyline tries to cover gayeism, environmental issues/recycling, and sex talk. I felt like I was being preached on. I do like a good RH book but this one was a bit forced. No build up to the romance. Disappointed on this one. Couldn't relate to the characters. DNF...Enjoyed the Witching book one from this author though. This book lacked the cohesive that the Witching book one had.
This one was just ok. Not my favorite of Avery Song's series, which stinks because I really enjoy the plot of the Tracker Hive Academy series. I love the concept, and on one hand I really, really want to see how it will all play out. I love the use of 8 elements, rather than the typical 4 or 5 in elemental based magic.
The main reason that I struggled with this book a bit, were the characters. The main character is all over the place. I found the storyline really interesting, but I can't get behind the characters motivations. They don't always feel believable or authentic to me. Maybe that aspect will get better in future books, and maybe I will try book 2 again at a later time, but right now, I have other books and other series that I am more interested in continuing.
If you are new to Avery Song, she is great! But I recommend starting out with her witchling series. I am between 2.5 and 3 starts for this one, so I will round up.
I enjoyed this novel, however I found it very confusing at times. I wasn’t sure who was talking at times. A lot of characters at once and not enough distinction of who was speaking. The story itself is a great idea though. I shall continue to book 2 x
OMG fucking loved this book, the mc was soo funny and i loved that she didn't care what other thought of her and she was her psycho/crazy ass self. The first half of the book was my fave part. It was great to see a build up/background in the beginning of Jade storm. The guys where nice , unique i guess i would say. That's why it was so easy to tell them apart, cuz of their emotions(sort of) and i think these are the first quadruplets i read about. Lovely
Pages: 414 My rating: 3 Read other books by this author in the future: MC: Jade, Shadow Jade, Zion, Zeus, Zeke, Zachary
This is an okay book. I did not like the Insta love aspect. It was not well executed. At the end I did not feel like I should read the rest of the series.
The Tracker Hive Academy: Year One is book one in Avery Song's Jade Storm Tracker series. I have to say first of all...I LOVE that the author gives the reader Jade's early years. When I realized this I devoured that section of the book. Normally authors give us flashbacks or little tastes of life WAS like for them, but we got to experience it with Jade as she stayed on the run from the men who wanted to drag her to the Black Market for her unique and rare abilities. Fast forward 10 years and we get to the good stuff! I truly enjoyed this book. I will admit that the author had me fluctuating back and forth on whether I really liked Jade or not. One minute I did and then came the snark and inappropriate commentary and I was like "ack!" I can't help it. I was the good girl growing up and when she does crazy stuff I keep waiting on a reprimand, but it's obvious that her adoptive father has learned and perfected his best way of handling her...very hands off. It bugs me for a bit, but then I'm just like...eh. I'll roll with it. I do think it's a bit crazy that my favorite character seems to be Shadow Jade. She's so cute! LOL! Weird..but cute and that I can relate to. The better I get to know Jade though the more I can understand her and on some levels relate to her as well. For me, this story ebbs and flows. It has fast-paced moments and then it slows down. When the story slows down in places I get anxious for some action, but then the author gives me something to sink my claws into. I like the intense moments that Jade finds herself in. I appreciate the author showing me her more vulnerable side in those moments. They are few and far between, but I'd like to see more. I like the twists and the way the story weaves together to see if you're really paying attention. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I can't wait for more of Jade, Shadow Jade, and these four sexy guys! I love how the author gives us so many unique characters, situations and surprises. I can't wait to hear more of Shadow Jade's "Kill" song and hilarious moments. If you are a fan of Avery Song, like me, grab this book! Totally worth it!
I tried, I really did. Jade was highly annoying especially with her weird monologues. The whole "Im an 8 year old whose whole family died and I live on the streets so pity me" was overplayed and got tiring. Cry me a river. [Sounds like I'm a terrible person but trust me. No bueno] The boys were irritating and if there is one thing I can't stand in a RH is when one boy — in this case Zeke — is favored over the other guys. Maybe it would’ve gotten better at the end but I wasn’t going to waste my time.
It wasn’t totally terrible and I did enjoy some parts, however Everything else was just so Bad.
I think this was among the first RH books I ever gushed about to my friends. I was just a tiny kid. I still had two month to fourteen, I think. I remember talking about Shadow Jade and her kill song in my language period to my friend and basically worshipping Jade. I was so young then, lol.
Right now, I enjoyed this book but it wasn't as mind-blowing it was to me back then. I'm not gonna change the rating but this was probably only a four star now. On to the book...
Jade was orphaned at eight. Her unique and extremely rare ability to wield all eight elements put a bounty on her head and several people were searching for her with the intention of selling her in the black market. After a year of surviving on the streets, Alaric Masters, another person with eight elements just like Jade finds her and adopts her. From then, Jade has been training to be a Tracker so she can finally defeat her demons and kill her family's murderer.
We have our hot-as-hell Maxwell quadruplets, the Trouble Four:
Zeke, Tracker of Light and Darkness Zion, Tracker of Water and Earth Zackery, Tracker of Wind and Ice Zeus, Tracker of Thunder and Fire
I don't have a favorite. Or rather he's not in this book kinda. You'll know as the series progresses.
The book touches on a lot of sensitive topics like bullying and triggers. I think that was the initial charm that drew me in. A lot of Avery Song's FMCs go through self-discovery in their books and at that time, I guess I really just needed to feel that, lol.
A good book. If you like this book, you should probably check out all of Avery's other books too. It's all a part of one huge HUGE prophecy that you'll come to know about later. I'm talking about Supernatural Spy School, Spell Traveller Chronicles and Blazing Academy. Even though a few of these books grated on my nerves with all the drawn out dialogues and deep talks in later books in all the serieses, (Is this a word? Not a native English speaker, sorry 😬) I'll still come back because I have to know where all of this is going.
Also, I just thought I'll have to mention this, there is sex. Like good adult sex, not vague descriptions. Not graphic but not that vague either. I mentioned I was in my late thirteens when I read this so if any other young one has this idea, you should probably think it through. I'm not gonna discourage you because I'm guilty of the same but if you haven't read books like these before, you should probably think again.
This book was absolutely amazing! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves YA/paranormal/RH series. Cannot wait for the following books to come!
Quick Info Standalone/Cliffhanger?: Cliffhanger Part of a Series?: Yes ---------------------------------- Meeting the Characters Jade Storm Zeke Zion Zackery Zeus ---------------------------------- What happens? Jade is enrolled rather reluctantly into the Hive academy for Trackers. On her first day she is introduced to four other new students all quadruplets with Z names (I won't list they're right above..) Jade is some what against following rules and tasks set by authority figures and so causes problems wherever she goes. Final thoughts I love Jade. She was what I wanted Bri to be. Shes sassy, shes kick ass, she is a bit annoyingly rude in some situations but its a front for the secret she is hiding. I also love the quad. Completely inappropriately in love with them. I don't think I could share but if these were real people I'd probably be tempted. Jade isn't a shy unbecoming virgin, shes had sex before she just has never done the love and relationship situation. I really think that is nice for her that we see her character evolve even towards the end of this book into being open with that. Would I read again?: Yes Would I read this author again?: Yes
This was a well written book. I like the story, world and characters. The book doesn’t get into the academy and the four brother until a few chapters in, but I liked how the author was able to build Jade’s story from her childhood and build the world around her. The relationship between Jade and the four brothers was interesting and well thought out. Identical but different personalities and magic. I think this may be the first reverse harem with quadruplets that I have read. The brothers had their relationship with each other and also how they dealt with their relationship with Jade. I also loved Jade’s shadow and the other characters around her. I would have liked to see more about the school like and other students as it did focus very heavily on Jade, her family and the four brothers. Thumbs up to cover art as well. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it. Looking forward to continuing the series.
While this is supposed to be of someone who is an adult the story mostly reads like a YA novel with sex. It starts off interestingly enough but then starts to gloss over events to move the story forward. I’m not a fan of this, granted I know not every moment can be told in the present not every time needs to be upon reflection. The relationship was very one dimensional. And all of a sudden they are saying I love you’s which I don’t think Jade would be open to saying right so quick. It was too insta love for me.
I’m intrigued by the elemental idea and how their powers work and manifest. I’m intrigued by the Hive Academy though we barely get much insider knowledge of that. I also wish we had a bit more hard to get for the four before she took them as her men.
Overall the story is pretty standard, nothing that ooohhhed and aahhhed me.
Jade is my new best friend!!!! This chick is awesome!! She has a really tough childhood that only gets better when a nice man saves her and brings her into his home. She gets trained with all right of her powers (she's a rare one like that) making her pretty awesome even before she is forced to go to the Academy. Her personality had me laughing so hard which only gets better when the hot quadruplets were introduced. I was unable to put it down! A total must read! I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
Exceptional start to Avery Song's new series. Jade is a quirky lovable character, and her elemental "twin" Shadow Jade is one of my favorite characters. Both join an Academy of magic users that are the delinquents of the community. They meet the hot quadruplete Maxwell brothers and join them to track the ones killing students. A great read filled with snark, and laughter. Looking forward to book two.
I am really confused with this whole book, it has some serious "come on" issues. (Not in any order). when she's found living on the streets and is found by her adoptive father, he right away helps her and kills the bad guy, takes her in and starts to care for her telling her how important trackers are and the need to protect them from the ppl who kill it sell them, we do not know who these ppl are, if they are normal ppl, trackers themselves, ECT, we don't know anything because there is zero world building or information about this? anyways she's on the streets she thinks about 10months at age 8, fast toward 10 years she 18 and required to attend trackers hive academy, so as she's about to go to school and they are telling her that bullying is welcome? Fast forward a few pages and when she ask what she's really here at the school to investigate it's kids dying, she right away says well kids die because of fights between the trackers at the school and that's normal,? What now, so your telling me that the trackers help other lost trackers to invite them to a school were they are bullied and possibly killed by trackers and also hunted down by ppl unknown ( scratching head) so her first day this kid is getting bullied and he thinks she's gonna save him She tells him why would I help you, your nobody to me and walks away? So ur telling me a girl who knows all about being attacked just turns her back? Wdf, so she ends up fighting the guy who attacked this nerd guy as they all call him, he gets a hero complex for her and starts kinda following her around to be her friend it seems and she's annoyed and wishes they could kill him, honestly she's a c*****, I just disliked her by the minute, she's a complete psycho and I was tired of her, we get info about an attack that happened to her out of nowhere in a gym bathroom? I guess to feel for her, we read about her ptsd, and how her being homeless taught her to not to waste food, how ppl treated her horrible at age 8 telling her how pathetic she was, to get a job, these adults made fun of her? What? What adult does that, it's so unbelievable it's down right ridiculously eye rolling. So she goes on a few times and talks about her homelessness which is weird because it was 10 months, then a year but she's wearing Louis vuitton? Couldn't even sell that s**** to me, oh please, how she learned to recycle cause of global warming but is a complete mean person all round?. 74% and I was seriously tired of this book, she goes on a date with one of the guys, has sex while he says he loves her? Where did that come from? Then we hear she takes medication for mental illness? Stuff is just thrown in and it's like where did that come from?! And yet with all this added stuff we have no idea about a real back story, who is after these trackers? Who is this council? Then! We read jade was attacked by some guy ( the guy who killed her family) we never really hear about what happened? But we get a little later on, that this guy wants her to become who she's meant to be while having a nightmare after sleeping with zeke? This is 74% in that we are just hearing about it now, once again something that is just thrown in there, like oh yeah this is happening to me as well. Come on! Why does this have high ratings? Jade is a horrible person with some serious mental issues that everyone seems to let her get away with. This book has none of the information that you actually need, and there seems to be a lot of last minute oh yeah and this happens to me, or happened to me, with a lot of I've had a hard life which is so unbelievable since she walks around and acts like a spoiled brat, with her credit cards and tons of cloths. No sense
It wouldn’t have normally taken me 9 days to read a book but I was on vacation last week and had a ton to do, so reading was put on the back burner unfortunately.
This was, however, a pretty quick read once I sat down and started. I am in love with this series already. Jade is badass and I wish I could be like her lol. So Jade meets these hot and sexy brothers and it’s like insta-love. Normally I hate that but in this book it just worked. Jade and her men all fit perfectly together and I love how they compliment each other. The ending about gave me a heart attack so I’m definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series
Avery Song, I am in your debt. I had about 5 books I was in the middle of reading, nothing was holding my attention and I stumbled upon this book. I honestly didn’t go into it with high hopes because of the book slump I was in but this book totally surpassed my expectations. I absolutely love Jade’s personality and her bluntness. The storyline kept me intrigued the entire time and I am so happy I found this book only a few days before the next one is supposed to be released because I cannot wait to devour it. Thank you for getting me out of my book slump. I will now be stalking you to see all the other books you’ve written that will hopefully keep me as equally entertained.
What a cruel world that an 8 year old is spit on and laughed at for being homeless. How some people took pity on her by donating necessities yet never helping her.
The person who rescued her, on day one, she decided to call him dad. Isn't there an order to these things?
Reading the comments some say the book gives a Yumoyori Wilson vibe, and personally I'm glad I got out.
Jade is flipping amazaballs. The world and character building in this story was brilliant! I couldn't put this book down. This was a unique story with magical elements and individuals blessed with powers. Those with more than one are specail and sought by the black market. Jade and the trouble four are power houses...no spoilers you need to read this if you enjoy action, mystery, magic, and a Medium burn RH.
This book was so good. It had you hooked since the first chapter. My favorite character is actually shadow Jade lol. She cracks me up. This is a must read.
Surprisingly Steamy, Violent & Captivating!!🔥💥🙏😍 (Read using Kindle Unlimited)
This is a much more grown up, messed up, sexy & violent Academy Read than most of the ones I've read & I've read a lot of them.😃👍 It gripped me from the start with its darker story & main character - Jade.
Jade's family were slain in front of her by dark, manipulative forces when she was 7 years old. She was placed in 'the System' but the poor kid was constantly being chased & attempts were repeatedly made to kidnap her, for her elemental magic.⚡🌀 She ended up running away & living on the streets, still being chased, hungry, terrified, heart broken & only her determination to survive for the family she'd lost, keeping her alive!!😔😭
After a year she's nearly captured when a stranger steps in & saves her, offers her understanding, safety & a loving home!!💚💞 Aleric Masters is the Headmaster of the Tracker Hive Academy. The institution trains young adults, 18+, in their element's as well other more deadly activities!! The hope is that these young, strong but so far unruly & untrainable people can be taught to go out into the world & bring down the bad guys that but & well kids like Jade!!🌟🙏 Its a worthy & noble cause and future career. Aleric asks that Jade attends the Academy once she's of age - agrees!!👍
As Jade grows we get to see her brand of crazy!😂 She's a bit like a cross between Harley Quinn (Suicide Squad) & Black Widow with a small side of the Hulk (The Avengers) 😂🙈😂 The Hulk part is due to Shadow Jade 😍💥
Her first day she quite literally bumps into identical quads - the Maxwell brothers - Zeke, Zeus, Zackery & Zion. Their elements all ready extremely strongly with hers & for someone that doesn't mix well with others, this throws her for a loop!!🙈 Especially the Insta lust she feels for all of them🔥🔥🔥🔥 Is this the start of a beautiful friendship or is it the beginning of the end for Jade & the Academy??😳😔💥
Hot diggity dog I LOVE this book, and the main badass character of Jade! Talk about being scrappy, having perseverance, a huge heart, combined with deep seeded insecurities and the need to protect the innocent. Her entire family dead before she turned eight, Jade grew up a street rat. Having an unprecedented eight elements within her had her running from people constantly trying to kidnap her for the Black Market. Thankfully someone found her and took her into his home, becoming her foster father. And so began her new life learning to become a Tracker. Once she turned eighteen she promised her dad she'd go to Tracker Academy even though she knew most of the curriculum anyway 😉. What she wasn't expecting are the FOUR super yummy identical brothers who arrived to said Academy on the same day. Nor was she expecting to become bait, or past terrors coming back to haunt her in present day. Intrigue, mystery, lots of bad ass adventure, hot guys, and at the center one slightly insecure yet seriously awesome female called Jade. All for one? This Hive is out for blood. Nobody messes with Jade 😊. I loved this start of a new series and can't wait for more!!!!
What just happpppennned! I just finished a new book that just released and I loved everything about it!
A quirky and strong FMC and a sexy group of men who not only understand her unique personality but also support her emotionally; plus a hot boyfriend who bakes her cookies!
Jade Storm had a rough life after her family was killed when she was small, she was forced to live on the streets and fend for herself. Viciously hunted for her unique set of powers, she was able to survive, even though she sometimes wondered what she did to deserve the unending nightmare. But just when she had lost all hope, Jade is saved by a man who not only saves her from being captured but later adopted her and teaches her how to safely use her powers. Her new father is in charge of the Tracker Hive Academy and as soon as Jade turns eighteen, she is enrolled and her fun begins.
