Brides of Sweet Creek Ranch #4

The Cattle Rustler and the Runaway Bride

Rate this book
Wyatt Haven enjoyed spicing up life with dashes of humor and excitement until his antics ended in a tragedy. He makes the painful decision to leave his beloved home and family and join a Wild West show, but a beautiful Englishwoman’s plight waylays him when she accepts his impulsive offer to help her save her horses. Even by his standards, marrying a runaway bride and stealing six horses from the cattle baron who hates him is the most dangerous exploit in a long line of reckless stunts. The angry cattleman vows he’ll hang for this latest insult. Sickened that his risky ways could cause more harm, especially to Kitty, Wyatt determines to do all in his power to protect this brave and resourceful woman he’s falling for.

A family scandal has forced British heiress Cathryn Cliffton to accept the hand of an American cattle baron twice her age. Upon arrival in the frontier city of Cheyenne, Kitty discovers her fiancé’s promise of a breeding ranch for her polo ponies was a lie. Worse, he has ghastly designs for them. To save the horses, her whole world, she takes them and runs away with a charming cattle rustler. Instead of a safe life of tea and polo matches, Kitty finds herself marrying the rustler, hiding in an outlaw camp, and being chased by her vengeful fiancé and his six-gun-toting men. Uninhibited and audacious, Wyatt Haven is unlike any man she has ever met, and she finds herself drawn to his good humor and kindness.

He is too wild. And she cares only about her horses.
Theirs was supposed to be a marriage of convenience.

Wonderful!

I hated to see the end of this series, and hope we will see at least a couple of !it's books with these characters! Great plots and descriptive places make these books feel more like real people instead of just tales! Loved each of them! Great reading!!!

Honestly, I didn't like the characters (A woman who puts her horses above everyone? The man who makes everyone laugh and demands that she marry him to protect her reputation, but is basically a felon and has no problem stealing horses without even asking why? A 10-year old boy who calls women "beautiful" as an endearment was creepy, and the whole Second-Chance Boys thing confused me. Were they all adopted "brothers" or were any of them biological brothers?) and, by the time they got to the Hole-in-the-Wall (or whatever it was called), it felt like a different story altogether and I lost interest. I did not finish.

A really fun book about a cattle rustler and a runaway bride. Kitty’s father promised to leave the polo pony’s to her in his will. Her brother used up his inheritance and then told Kitty that she had to marry this cattle Barron in order to get the pony’s. She was willing until she found out the prospecting bridegroom did not plan on letting her keep her pony’s. She arranged with the cattle rustler to help her steel the ponies. WyTt said in order for her to travel with him they needed to be married to protect her reputation. As they grow to love each other it is fun to watch how they grow.

Exciting Times

I loved all four books. Right from the beginning they pulled you into the story. As soon as I would finish one, I would start the next. From the start you like the Haven brothers and all the adventures they go thru. One of the bad guys, a weasel named Amos I wanted to squash like a bug. I was sorry to finish the cattle rustler and the runaway bride because I want more about this family.

Great Book

I really enjoyed reading this fourth book in the Brides of Sweet Creek Ranch Series. Since I have already read the first three books in the series, the Haven's already feel like family to me. This book kept me looking forward to seeing how the cattle rustler and the runaway bride were going to care. I was thoroughly entertained by Wyatt's antics and I hope this series continues. I was left with wanting to read more about the Haven family and the Second Chance Boys.

Wyatt and Kitty

This is an unusual sweet story written by Wanda Thomas. Wyatt is one of the second chance brothers and 100% joker. Kitty is a European lady of great wealth. Upon her fathers she, her mother and her coca addicted brother mover to America. She had been betrothed to a wealthy disgusting older man with a heart of the devil. There is plenty adventure and excitement. You will enjoy discovering how Wyatt and Kitty find their happily ever after.

Great book!

Every book in this series has been fantastic, I've thoroughly enjoyed every one of the books. This book is about Wyatt and Catherine's love story. It certainly isn't easy for them to have their romance because of mean cattle batons and a hateful brother. Throw in some polo ponies, a gambler and some outlaws to make the story interesting. I'd recommend this book.

Great western

This book was about Wyatt finding love with a runaway bride. I liked how Wyatt was very much the same as he was in the first book—-kind, funny, a great cook, and a gentleman. And Kitty- girl was great, although I had trouble picturing her as English but I don’t know why. Anyway, a very enjoyable book.

Humorous love story i

Wyatt was the jokester of the family, everyone loved his charm and sense of humor except Seth, who blamed the death of one of the second chance boys on him. Wyatt also blamed himself, then along came Kitty with her Polo ponies needing help to escape an evil cattle baron. Love of family and Kitty was very evident throughout this book.

This is a well.written historical novel with some romance, mystery and a whole lot of action. You start as Catherine and her family move from.England to America so she can marry to save the family name and estate. But Catherine decides she doesn't like the plan and make her own!

This was another awesome storyline!

I loved this book, the polo ponies, the way she married to get her horse's away from the rotten rancher instead of marrying him! I was glad that it pointed the awful practice of tail docking instead of wrapping as they do now! Now for the next book in this series!

Sloppy Editing

I have enjoyed the other Haven Brothers Books, but though the story was fine, the editing could be improved. There are many non sentences and phrases that don't make sense. I found this jarring. I needed to reread sections to make sense of what was written. The story suffered from poor editing

The Cattle Rustler and the Runaway Bride

Another good book by Ms Thomas. Wyatt got his wife and managed to stay out of jail and received the relief from Seth. Now have to wait for next book. Praises for Ms Thomas.

A true Western Love Story

The Wild Cowboy and the English heiress, come together in a mad scheme to save her Polo ponies. A great read that does shoes the closeness of those in the Old West.

Good storyteller

Good story! I had to question possibilities of some things but good relationships among characters made reading enjoyable. Second chance boys was a heart-warming idea.

Hoo wee...

That's what the cowboys say, that and horse hooey. This was a slapstick cowboy love story, but its real hard to swoon over a goof ball H. He was silly and always clowning around. No chemistry with the English h. Waste of my time.

Wyatt has been full of fun and angst since the first book in the series. This time he might have bitten off more than he can chew.

Still smiling

It never ceases to amaze me that one author can weave so many threads together so cunningly that the fabric of several related books is whole and unblemished.

Good continuation of this series. Glad everything worked out for Wyatt. Not sure why Jed was not arrested. Do wish courts worked as fast today. Good read.
