I thought this was excellent, but it's important to understand that this is not really a romance novel, it's an urban fantasy featuring a gay main character. Dylan has the ability to heal himself through sex (and given his penchant for getting into life-or-death situations, he uses it a lot), and has a rotating cast of characters moving into and out of his bed as a result. Ordinarily this would offend my admittedly saccharine and sappy gay "white-picket-fence" sensibilities, but I got over it thanks in large part to Dylan's quite funny internal monologues and quips. He comes across as endearing and charming, even when he's (unknowingly?) hurting his suitors' feelings by "healing" with someone else. He's also actually gay, which to me matters a lot. Between the appropriately horrifying enemies--the oil barons--and the adequately fleshed-out supporting characters (especially Seph) I enjoyed this and am looking forward to the next one.

This is a low 3 star. I don't know why but it just didn't work for me. It wasn't bad, I just never cared for Dylan. He's so meh. He sleeps with anything thing that glances at him. He's a singer and seems to take that seriously but outside of that he's a walking disaster. He's so wishy washy and non-committal. I don't have much use for him. There's so many characters introduced, which it's the first in a series so of course, but since I didn't know what to make of most of them, it irked me. The plot was interesting, the reveal at the end was kind of telegraphed but even with that I'm curious how the next book goes.

This was not for me. I know its all about redemption and maybe the character will improve, but the MC was awful. It was a recoil and kill it with fire moment. The story is loud and despite all the assassination attempts going on, it still sounds like a casual walk in the park. The MC reminds me of one of the fake heroines in villainess frame up stories. One moment he's taking the blame for everyone to say its not his fault etc and the next he's flippant me me me. I was more interested in Seph. The whole Darius thing was sus and I didn't like the way the bodyguards got sidelined. Not one I'll continue.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I enjoyed the story and loved the characters but I had issues about having sex with everyone. Especially when it was clear that one character is in love with the main MC. I think I would have been okay if it was just the two hot bodyguards, but it wasn't. Anyway, Dylan is the last Siren and he has a huge bulls eye on his back. Dylan is hunted by a lot of bad guys who want to finally make the Siren's extinct. But he won't hide from the world, he is a rock star & loves all the attention that entails. But the human world does not know about the supernatural side & they are trying to keep it that way. When a message is delivered to Dylan that causes him hope that he can go home, he has no choice but to take up the task. He has been told that it’s his fault for the fall of his home and the death of his people. But, Dylan has some holes in his memory and he doesn’t know what is true. I can't wait to read more in this series. I have not read the Coldharbour Chronicles, which this series is set in the same world, but don't believe that I have missed anything. I do want to read that series as do love the paranormal world.

Real life told in a fantasy world.

Although I think part of this was predictable, I really enjoyed this story. I love the fact that the antagonists were oil barons. We've seen them pollute our oceans many times, see how they kill see life and poison the food that people may eat out of the water. The fact that the oil barons get rich off of destroying everything on Earth, I can only hope that the heroes win and the journey to fight against the antagonists is as exciting as the first book. I didn't think I was going to like Dylan Rivers, but I found him to be very charming. The writes gave the other characters good stories as well. Book 2 here I come!

Getting through this book was a job not a Privilege

I tried I really did but this main character is a dick and only seems to have the vaguest since of values or even enough brain cells to stop constantly lying to himself not a fan it was so slow and had too much of the famous person drama why would I want that type of angst

Found a NEW author to LURVE!!! 💜💖💚

🐬Under the Sea Lies Destiny!🐙

So I believe if we look close enough we might discover Adam Levine is a Siren. **giggle... At least that's how I pictured the sMMexxy pop singer/ gnome killer Hero in this book. 🐠

"Siren's Debt" 🐚 took me on a fantastic ride (like floating through the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at disney, only you must be an adult to get in the floaty boat- hee hee 😂).

There was so much going on in the MCs life that he barely had time to think. Poor thing had lost his family, his entire kingdom was taken over and destroyed by oil barons 🐙(which when I learned what that really was, kinda skeeved me out). HOWEVER, dude was a Siren! So, what do ya do when all is lost and you have but one gift? 🎶Sing of course!!! 🎶 So, for years he has used his gift and made himself a worldwide Pop singing sensation. 🎤 Shimmery Gold boy shorts and body glitter unite!😁

Things are getting even more out of hand in the MCs life of late, and gnome assassins are coming for him like never before. As he becomes enlightened as to why, a small group of faithful friends have sworn to stick this out with him to the very end.🐬🌈🐬

This is book 1 of a series that can be read as a standalone. You do get closure, more of a HFN than HEA, but it is satisfying. No cliffy to make you wanna throw you e-reader against a wall! 😋

This is fast paced, easy to read (minor errors), action packed, funny, and full of sMMexy goodness. 💕

I am looking forward to the next book!!! BRANG IT ON, HONEY! 👑

Hello, my name is ______ and I am addicted to Richard Amos books.

This is the 2nd dark urban mm romance fantasy series by Amos, and the 2nd series set in the Coldharbour Chronicles universe and damn, the man has knocked it out of the park again. If you've read the Coldharbour Chronicles you've sort of been introduced to Dylan Rivers already through the obsession of one of Jake Winters guardians Naomi, call me Nay, with his music. But now we get to meet the man behind the obsession.

Dylan Rivers is a siren. Check that, he's the LAST siren. The very last of a race slaughtered by creatures called the oil barons, who escaped to the earth realm. His very survival is a problem for the oil barons, and the fact that he's turned himself into an international pop star, beloved the world over, us just a bigger FU to them, to the point where they're constantly sending gnomes to kill him - and we're not talking your garden figurine variety of gnome either - these gnomes are kinda scary. And the attacks on his life are ramping up. But why?

There's a prophecy - there's always a prophecy - but this one could mean that maybe the refugees of the Siren realm could one day go home. Provided Dylan gets his memory back, and rights a wrong he doesn't even remember.

As intro books go, this one was fun, action-packed, and sizzling hot! Oh did I mention that sirens heal through sex? Guhhhhhhhh... there is nothing slow about the burn in this book!

Can't wait for book 2.

You either love him or despise him. Or just like him. Or tolerate him. Well, I guess you can do a lot of things. But whatever you will do (to him), you will do unto the book.

Because when they said (don't know who) that everything depends on the MC, this is the book they were talking about.

Because Dylan doesn't make it easy. He is kind of spoiled but not too much. He is also capable of taking care of himself - he also likes others to take care of him. In bed.

You can't be sure whether he is just repressing his inner hero or if he is just supposed to be like that. And I can't say I was impressed with the first chapter where we get to know him and if a side character pulled this sh..tuff? If a romantic interest pulled this? He'd find himself under the window (well, methaporically speaking since I read my book on kindle). BUT - he is pretty unique. I know a few male MCs and this one stands out so I told myself - why not?

And it was certainly a little different from other books and if a little break in the mould is what you're after? This one should be for you.

I’ve read the author’s previous series, and I really, really liked it so I was excited to be given access to this series starter not knowing if I would like it as much or not. Well, I loved it! I have to say the MC character Dylan was at first a little over the top, just what you would expect a pop-star diva to be. I loved how by the end of the book he became a much better person, and he knew, too, he was better person. I found the book well-written, the characters interesting, and the plot engrossing. I loved every minute of this one even more than the other series I’ve read by this author, and I can’t wait to see what is coming next for Dylan and company. And, I have to be honest, I didn’t particularly like one of his love interests, but I did really like the other one. I can’t say which because they were both great men, but I do have a favorite! LOL! Oh, and I didn’t know who the villian was. Nice twist! Highly recommend! I received a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I wasn’t sure about this one when I picked it up, but then a gnomes head gets hacked off in the first line and I was hooked.
Dylan is the last siren, oh yes he’s also a pop star!! Who has assassins attacking at very frequent intervals. He has his sirens song, which has different levels and uses. There is quite a bit of steam and heat in this book, one thing I didn’t like was how clueless he was about the feelings of at least one of his bodyguards and once he does how he pushes it to the sidelines.
Over the course of the book it comes to light that he may have been the reason his realm got destroyed, now he has a choice follow his destiny or stick his head in the sand.
I found it hard going for the first 50%, but then it really gets going. Ends on a bit of a cliffhanger as it continues on into the next book which I can’t wait to read, looking for to the next one.

I was really looking forward to reading this book because I absolutely loved the Coldharbour Chronicles series but unfortunately this is just an okay read for me. I like the storyline and the secondary characters are intriguing but Dylan is a jerk for most of the book and I could not get past my dislike for him. There are glimpses here and there of him trying to be a better person but by that point in the book it was too late for me. The lack of romance, world building and background information about all of the characters also bothered me. I really like Dylan's bodyguards and his manager as well as some of the surprising twists in the story. Overall I am a bit disappointed by this book but I also want to find out what happens to Andy and Pranay in the next book.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This is the first book in The Dylan Rivers Chronicles Series. A mixed feelings book for me the writing was good. I don’t have a problem with reading about a relationship that has more than 2 people as long as it is a relationship not just sex with a bunch of people. And that is how this book felt to me. I don’t know if that was the intended feel, so I will read the second book. The rest of the book and the plot were entertaining and the plot was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters intriguing. The characters were developed and thought out. Dylan is the MC’s of this book with more secondary characters (some of which may also turn into additional MC’s). This book isn’t for everyone, but it would be enjoyed by those open-minded. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Siren's Debt by Richard Amos is the first book in The Dylan Rivers Chronicles series. This is an Urban Fantasy MM harem romance, because why should the last living siren have to choose?!?. This beautifully told tale takes you on a journey that will capticate your imagination and make you crave more.

Dylan Rivers is a fascinating character. I enjoyed the introduction to what and who he is and look forward to seeing where his story ultimately leads. And oh the scenes between him, Andy and Pranay were hot! Actually there is a good amount of heat in here. There is also mystery, suspense, action, and humor. Cant wait for more.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

I received this book by the author and This is my honest opinion.

To be honest I wasn't sure if this was going to be my cup of tea or not as I was thinking pop star themed? Having had a fair few flops with that theme but I was swayed with the siren description and of course this is the same author having writ the cold harbour series which I loved.
Surprisingly though set in a somewhat pop star setting it wasn't what I was expecting which was a plus. This author has a rich imagination which portrays nicely in a rich world building that sucks you into the story. I enjoyed reading about all the creatures and dylan being the last siren has a target on his back so you had that intrigue and intenseness. I'm intrigued to find out what's next, but an exciting read and one I'd recommend.

Dylan Rivers is a pop star. Fairly selfish, huge ego, more lovers than he can count. He is also a Siren. The last of his kind. He knows there are hidden things in his past, he just can’t figure them out. He has an ongoing relationship with his bodyguards, a Fae and a werewolf, who would die for him.

Dylan didn’t start out as very likable, but he did improve as the story progressed. It was interesting to watch his demeanor change. Going from diva to hero trying to find his way home and protect the world around him from evil. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I received an arc of this book.

Dylan is the last of his species and is forever getting attacked as his enemies try to kill him at every turn. He doesn't remember much about the destruction of his kin and realm, but he jumps at it when he is given the chance to learn more information.

Dylan is a fighter, and when he learns the truth, he is set on destroying the evil that destroyed his kin and helping to right a wrong. While fighting for his life, he also develops feelings for two bodyguards he occasionally sleeps with. There were a couple of twists that I didn't expect, which made for some surprises throughout the book, but overall I enjoyed the book and will read the rest of the series.

I think this is the first time I have ever given 4-stars to a book I didn't enjoy reading, but it was a well-written very well thought out story... just not something that I usually go for and will probably not enjoy in the future. I really connected with most of the secondary characters, but Dylan Rivers? Yeah, that guy just doesn't work for me! Let me be upfront and say that "fantasy" as a general rule is not a genre that I read and this book didn't change my mind on that fact... BUT, if you really enjoy that genre? This one is for YOU!!! Have at it, and ENJOY!!! *grin*

Can a Siren really fall in love? I really did enjoy this once I got over the chaotic start of the book. But then I realized, this is Dylan life, a life of chaos. With paranormal assassins out to kill him, being a pop-star, hiding his paranormal side, and being a Siren means multiple lovers. But the biggest hurdle is his loss of memory. I really enjoyed watching his character grow, and his relationship with his body guards. Beware, this is an ongoing saga. And I can’t wait to find out if Dylan really does fall in love.

3.5 estrellas.

slow burn beauty

Richard Amos is the king of slow burn. This story, like a lot of his work, is set in London and features an underworld of elemental beings living alongside humans. Dylan Rivers is a pop star with a secret that is hidden even from himself. We know that the story will feature Dylan with multiple lovers, but it’s not quite clear who all the players in the romance will be. It’s delightful, full of adventure, and steamy scenes. Can’t wait to read the next and see who Dylan finally gives his heart to!

Dylan is a horrible character in this book. And I dont get why everyone loves him.
My biggest other peeve was: what does Dylan actually look like as a Siren?? We're told mermaids are seperate species and he has scales....other then that....he does have legs? So like a sea monster?
The first 50% was hard to keep my attention but it defiantly picked up toward the last 50%.
Onward to book 2.

Such an interesting idea! But such flat writing. Kind of interested in seeing how the author's writing improves throughout the series, but I think I probably won't be continuing. If you're engaged by the first few pages (stylistically), you'll like the book, bexause it builds an interesting world.
