I am sorry to say but I hate the new art style.
The old one was lovely and round and fit the characters and the story much better.
I don´t know if I was just distracted by the new art but the story felt off somehow.

A bit distracting with the sudden change (yet again) of art styles, this time back to the original creator John Allison. Have to say at first I found it jarring, only having seen the Giant Days cast in his style for the prequels, but after a few pages it all felt fine.
A fun wedding issue with forward-thinking drama as our characters think about life after university and what'll happen to their friendships and relationship after their final year. The Esther and Daisy bonding was especially fun, but seeing Susan's insecurities added a bit more dimension to her character.

Wow!
I feel like it's been a little bit since I wrote a Giant Days review. For a little while there I did not read another issue, it's not because I stopped loving them or did not want to. I just got busy reading so many other things but now I am back visiting the world of three of my favorite characters ever and so happy to be there.
SPOILERS AHEAD
In this issue we see our trio heading to attend McGraw's brother's wedding and we see the wedding as well. Daisy and Esther share a hotel room at this little inn that is frog themed where Daisy momentarily contemplates if she likes Esther as more than a friend. Meanwhile, Susan is struggling with her arch-rivals and feeling like she is good enough for McGraw's family.
Overall, this was a cute issue with some very real issues (they are really good about doing that in this series) however, they changed the art style again. For me, this change was so jarring. I was like woah, I had just gotten a new Kindle and honestly at first I was like there must be something wrong with this thing (it was the first book I was reading on it after all) but nope I checked on my phone and laptop and they changed the art style again. It's not that the new art style is bad it's just such an adjustment and I miss my old style (maybe they will go back to it in future issues?). The one other point I wanted to touch on about this issue were the things our trio was experiencing Susan worrying about how McGraw's family feels about her is a totally real thing that happens to a lot of people in relationships. Seeing the Daisy and Esther inn sleepover was sweet and adorable. Overall, I enjoyed this issue and I am definitely planning to read the next one but this is not one of my top five issues of all time. I am giving this issue three stars on Goodreads.

Speedboat feelings stay away. Go and plague another gay. (boy did I feel that)
Okay. Two things:
1) Why do they keep changing the art style?????? It's not even that I don't like the artwork in this issue, it's just that I don't think it fits the characters or the story?? It completely distracted me and I'm not even sure I understood or even enjoyed everything I read?
2) The plot! I was so excited for this issue and it fell flat. It was weird (almost OOC) to have Daisy wonder whether she was in love with Esther, or Susan be jealous of Esther while she danced with McGraw...

Loved it, as usual. This might also be one of my most favorite covers yet. It's just so cute. I was quite surprised when I opened the book to the first page and my first thought was "OMG this looks like Bad Machinery!" Then I paid closer attention to the credits page and saw that John Allison illustrated this issue and that made me love it more. I love John's art. It's more angular and so fun, especially the depictions of Susan when she's angry.
I might be the odd one out here who appreciates every time the art work and illustration changes. I think everyone that has illustrated this series so far brings a new perspective to each character that still fits the character really well.
This was the issue I had been waiting months for, since learning of its synopsis, I think back in either December of January. Susan and McGraw are my two favorite characters and I love their relationship, so I was very much looking forward to seeing that play out at McGraw's brother's wedding and meeting more of McGraw's family. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a lot of scenes together, but the references to their relationship and it's growth were very satisfying. Susan was quite adamant about the fact that she never wants to get married, and in a panel with Esther, McGraw comments that he'll never have anyone give a best man speech about him. I really appreciated this because it showed how much he loves Susan and how's he willing to accept that he probably won't get married because Susan doesn't want to, but ultimately they want to stay together because a piece of paper doesn't have to be the only way prove how they feel. They seriously have grown so much since their first panels together in issue 1 and I just really love reading about them.
Esther and Daisy were also so cute in this issue. I love their friendship and their openness.
Is it next month yet, because I can't wait for issue 49!

Another fun issue for Giant Days! Okay, I’m pretty sure that Susan wouldn’t agree with me there, but whatever. This issue was basically everything Susan would prefer to avoid; weddings, family, and (one of) her archenemies. But that just made it more fun for us!
Honestly though, this issue did have a few serious points around those plots. Such as both Susan and McGraw truly realizing what it means that Suzan never wants to get married. And coming to terms with it, too. That’s the most important part.
Daisy and Esther also made appearances, and they were adorable, as per usual. Actually, these two had me cracking up this issue. I love Daisy and didn’t want to see her suffer by asking those questions of herself for too long – and the solution to that problem was so perfect and hilarious. Exactly what the doctor ordered.
My one complaint feels small in comparison. The art style changed again. Honestly, I don’t mind the art style itself as much as I just don’t love the way the new artist is interpreting the characters. I hope that makes sense. I think if they stuck closer to the images in my head I’d be a much happier girl.

This issue felt extremely disjointed, and while I'm overjoyed to see John Allison's art back, Susan's plot just didn't make that much sense. (Were we supposed to remember who the Shaws were? Did they ever appear before?) I liked the frog place, though. But Daisy better not have a crush on Esther.

1 just for the cover
I really didn't like the art in this "volume", but loved the style used in #47. It was a few volumes ago that this art style started turning me off the series, and its one of my all time favourites, but then got better again, then went back to this. I dunno, its frustrating, but I'll continue on unless the art changes permanently to this style. Maybe by then I'll get used to it?
The characters, particularly Susan and McGraw also just seemed out of character.

Fun story but I really disliked the art style. The old style was so much better. It really expressed the characters personality and made them feel alive on the page. I loved the old way Esther was drawn. She had a wonderful presence on the page and now she's so robotic looking. I hope this doesn't last.

This was a great single issue looking at the McGraw family!
I loved the interaction between Daisy and Esther at the Frog Lodge but more than anything, McGraw's fam!
I wasn't a big fan of this artist and certain panels just looked really weird but I'm looking forward to the next issue and hopefully the regular artist.

There were some turns of phrase I couldn't follow, and Allison's art really threw me for a loop--I'm so used to the regular artist.
The story was very good, and this my be one of my favorite covers in the whole series.

This issue didn't have much going for it. John Allison took over the drawing as well as the writing duties, and the characters didn't look like the characters I've grown to love. Also, with all the insanity that can happen at a wedding, it was rather boring and tame.

honestly i'm really disappointed in this issue. the art was bad, i'm sorry, but why susan's teeth look like she turned to a shark? also, the story telling was bleeh.
i really loved this series and loved everything about it, and mostly how the art and the story was smoothly going, but now i don't think i'm gonna pick it up. i don't know..
