Cold Case Sergeant, Ronan O’Mara, is set to return to work at the Boston Police Department after the birth of his first child, when a knock at the door brings back a part of his past he thought was gone forever: his father, John. The only thing that Ronan knows about his father is that the man was a no-good drunk who was gone from Ronan’s life before his first birthday. Now that John is back, all he wants is a chance to tell his side of the story. Not surprisingly, Ronan wants no part of this reunion.
No one is more stunned by this turn of events than psychic, Tennyson Grimm. He’s been in contact with Ronan’s deceased mother, Erin, since he and Ronan started working together. Surely if there was more to the story about Ronan’s father, Erin would have told him. Caught between a rock and a hard place, Tennyson is left to navigate the minefield of this complicated father-son relationship, while trying to support the man he loves.
When John O’Mara finally gets the opportunity to explain where he’s been for the last thirty years and, more importantly, why he stayed away, will Ronan and Tennyson jump in to help him solve the decades old crime that kept him away from his family? Or will Ronan stand by what he’s always believed to be the truth about his father? A truth that might just turn out to be dead wrong.
Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse who’ s a fan of middle of the night plot twists.
In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. And I'm back with Ronan and Ten for the 11th time. This time Ronan's father John makes an appearance for the first time in 30+ years and it's throwing Ronan for a loop of doubts. Luckily for him he has Ten by his side and all of their found family that they have picked up along their way, both living and dead.
This wasn't my favorite in the series and I found it being a little repetitive from time to time but I loved how strong Ronan and Ten are together and how much they have been growing during these 11 books. (Just 1o more to go lol)
¸.•´¸★*´¨) ¸.•*¨) (¸.★¨*.¸¸.•`★More drama, more answers.
Ronan had waited over thirty years and the death of his mother to receive the answers he wanted. The day his doorbell rang, he never expected "I love you to Dublin and back" to be factual. An older version of himself stood on his door stoop and Ronan knew the past had caught up to him.
This was a story of forgiveness. This was a story of finding out that all you believed changed the realm of your life. The mystery surrounding his father had finally made itself known, now it would take Ro and his entire family/friends to hunt the truth and discover just why John O'Mara disappeared in the first place.
I cannot get enough of these guys and look forward to more stories from the Cold Case Psychics. And baby Everly Erin is certainly stealing the show. There is a surprise coming and I am shuddering with joy. Kevin and Jace needs a happy ending. Is it about to come? Be on the look out for Aurora Borealis now on pre-order.
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.

Ronan's dad's back, and he wants nothing to do with him. But when Ten's read on his mom's old ring shows that she was heartbroken to take it off, and their friends find some information on a mob boss with a grudge, Ronan is forced to admit there may be more to his father's thirty year disappearance than he thought.
A nice bit of heat between Ronan and Ten, now that things have calmed down with their new baby. Ronan finally gets to see some of the spirits. Ten has to interview a dead mob boss to get to the bottom of things.
Pandora Pine books are dependable mysteries with sweet couples, and interesting mysteries. The writing quality is consistent-- sometimes the plot drags a little between action and discovery, but I'd recommend the cold case books to anyone interested in paranormal cops and gay couples raising families.
Back to a Ronan and Ten story this time and the return of Ronan's father. John's arrival is timed with Ronans first day back from paternity leave and so Ronan is already emotional. It was good to finally find out why John left all those years ago and to see how he was going to fit into their family.
WHOA!!! Just when you think there can't possibly be more family surprises, Ronan's father shows up! Just like with every other book, I loved this. I really enjoyed watching Ronan and his father reconnect, even if it took a while. I did get a little annoyed with Ronan's constant doubting of his father even when Ten's gifts told him otherwise. He doesn't doubt Ten anymore, so seeing him do that annoyed me. I do get it; it was a much more emotional situation than normal, but still. I'm glad it all worked out, though. John and Kaye together are going to be a hoot. He doesn't take her lip. lol I do wish that Erin and John were reconnected in some way for closure. Perhaps down the road?? hint hint-pretty please. Absolutely fantastic.
I truly love this series. There are so many layers to it! The layer that had always been missing was where was Ronan’s father. What was his backstory. You find that out and more. I’m really going to enjoy getting to know him in future books. I like that this is not the end. This series is one of my favorites and I hope it continues for a long time.
I was surprised to find some situational similarities to things going on in my own life and I'm sad to say that it made beginning the book quite difficult. Once I went beyond myself and read for escape into a world I truly enjoy, the Crew gave me the good feels I was hoping for. There were many instances while reading that I could predict what would happen and quite a few others that surprised me. I found both elements quite comforting because it was true to the Cold Case Crew formula while also adding a couple surprises to keep it different and interesting.
But Ronan...forever Ronan will be my favorite. The man he is, the man he has become, to the man he'll grow to be...he has stunned me over and over again. With so much love, rationality, heart, determination, empathy, tenderness, and understanding he's pretty much the perfect male lead for me. He's quirky and silly when it's appropriate, he still has a bit of an Irish temper, and all of it is softened by how he shows his love and support and then strengthened by his sheer will.
The villain was a bit predictable and I wish the questions and feelings had been manifest into an actual suspect so they could get to the answer faster so more time could have been spent on Ronan and John. Their reunion and reconciliation kind of took a back seat to a few too many non-crucial things as well as the overall mystery so I'm hoping that we'll see more of their journey back together as the series continues.
At some moments it felt like the point continually made over and over regarding Ronan's concerns about John wasn't the one that needed that level of repetition. Instead, less on the possibility of the crime and more on the emotional separation and John's separation from the family he professes to love more than his own life. I won't lessen the importance of the ramifications of possible guilt because it's definitely a huge deal, I just think that the emphasis on that one issue was a little heavy handed, a little overdone.
Honestly, at the end of the day, there's something addicting about this series. Even when I had my doubts a few books ago about where the individual characters were going I couldn't give up on them as a whole. Their family is growing in so many ways, each person is gaining depth, each trial strengthens and reveals a new facet to them. I'm definitely eager for more.
The case of the reappearing father...will wonders never cease? This eleventh book in Pandora Pine's Cold Case Psychic series was eagerly anticipated by myself as I'm sure it was by many other fans of Ms Pine and her cop/psychic dynamic duo of Ten and Ro. It did not disappoint and I was lucky enough to get an ARC. It's never been a secret that Cold Case Sergeant Ronan O'Mara's father has not been in the picture since he was a little boy, so I was curious to see how one of my favourite authors would manage to pull this particular rabbit out of her hat...and boy is it a doozie! I love how Ten helps Ronan to come around to the idea that his father might not be the total loser he was always told he was. It was a very good story twist in the overall series arc to bring another wayward relative back into the family fold, especially since my favourite cop and psychic have been blessed with their little Miss at long last on Valentine's Day. I enjoyed seeing Ten's mom Kaye get properly told off for her standoffish attitude by Greely telling her some home truths that she can't deny. I love how John O'Mara gets a second chance at being with his family. It was very interesting to learn a lot of what Erin actually knew, but had to keep from her son for safety reasons...love conquers all in the end. Highly recommended as a thrilling rom com supernatural MM good read.
One of my favourite series and in book 11 we get to read another side of Ronan O'Mara after becoming a father, a promotion to Sergeant at work and a sudden reappearance of the father he hasn't seen for over thirty years. There's a lot of emotion packed into this story mainly for Ronan and Tennyson but also within the huge family they have surrounded themselves with. We also have two new fathers to read and the love, worry, and adoration shines through in Pandora's writing. The new character of Ronan's father, John, was unexpected but it was really exciting to get the chance to know more of Ronan and the history of his family. Along with the new family aspect their is a plot line that draws in some of our favourite men - Jude, Fitzgibbon, Greely - and has intrigue, action and a bit of mystery to keep you guessing as to the possible outcome for everyone involved. I always feel a part of the story that the characters are living through and their emotions right with them. I adore the world that she has created and I just fall right back into their universe when starting a new book, this one being no different. I cannot recommend this series and the spin offs enough. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
A book centered around my Ronan - what more could I want? We finally get answers to questions I have had since the beginning, about Ronan's father and why he left. And it was NOT what I expected at all! I loved the emotional journey Ronan goes through with his family and friends as he tries to figure out the truth about what happened all those years ago while also dealing with the sudden appearance of the one person he never thought he would ever see again. There are some really poignant moments in this story that had my heart either breaking or swelling, and some hilarious ones as well that balanced the more angsty moments well. I don't want to say too much because this one has a lot of surprises and really should be experienced as spoiler-free as possible... so I will just say Pandora Pine has done it again, Everly is the cutest little girl ever, Ronan and Jude = bromance of dreams, and maybe have some tissues with you while you read. A wonderful addition to the series for long-time Ronan and Ten lovers and new readers alike - but if you're new, trust me and just start from book one, and welcome to the dark side. We might not always have cookies but we have psychics and hot cops, so...
Ronan Expects A Friend... And Gets A Father. This was my first book of Pine's long running Cold Case Pychic books after having read both of the spinoff series Ghost Detective books so far. And despite being book 11, a reader truly can come into this series and not be lost - said reader will just know how several things turn out over the previous 10 books that will be spoilers to those tales, but with this being a romance series to begin with most of them are fairly obvious anyway.
In this particular tale, series original Ronan O'Mara answers the door as he heads back to his first day at work in several months expecting a friend... and finds his father there, asking for his help. The mystery here is fairly typical of Pine in my experience, with mostly detective based questioning people and finding evidence of things with a few tense moments of confrontation in semi-dangerous situations.
Great read, and a solid entry point into the series if you don't mind the mild spoilers. Very much looking forward to more.
This series keeps getting better and better with every installment and Dead Wrong is an amazing addition to it. It is beautifully written, emotional, sweet, full of surprises and unexpected twists, there is an intriguing mystery, has an adorable baby surrounded by her amazing dads and their doting friends, an excellent storyline and the usual fabulous characters. Ronan and Ten have a lot to deal with as Ronan returns to work and the last thing they need is for his dad to show up after being gone for more than thirty years. They have to determine if John is telling them the truth about his past and Ronan has to figure out how to deal with his emotions and feelings towards his dad. With the support and help of their friends they start to unravel the mystery of what happened all those years ago. I love the dynamic within this large group of friends and the secondary characters are one of the best parts of this whole series. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of this book but it is scheduled to be released on April 9th.
This is the 11th book in the saga that is Ro and Ten's life. We love all these characters but at this point I just need it to end. I said after book 10 I wasn't going to read anymore but this book FINALLY tells us what ever happened to Ro's dad. I'm ever curious and just needed to know. It is an interesting tale but the drama is high with this family. I'm also so tired of MCs giving people second and third and 400 chances to be good to them. I HATE Kaye and I HATE the idea of family being important enough to forgive them for incredibly heinous things.
Now that I've said my peace, I can say that this story is pretty classic Ro and Ten. The psychic elements, as always, are exciting and interesting. The crime elements are mysterious and feed my need for answers. In a nutshell, this was a good story but I'm just ready for this series to bow out gracefully.
Dead Wrong is another fantastic addition to Pandora Pine's Cold Case Psychic series.
If you've been following along, we now get Ronan and Ten with baby Everly. Commence humor. The mystery is again a great one, with twists and turns. Ronan's father is back and they don't necessarily trust him.
Pandora Pine's writing style is once again stellar. The characters are amazing, the plot is superb and the flow is perfect. If you haven't yet read the Cold Case series, do yourself a favor and do so now. It's the perfect mix of light hearted humor, romance, and family, in addition to suspense and danger.
Yet again, I need to applaud Pandora Pine for this series. Somehow these books continue to get better and better. I love the men immensely and am grateful to be able to follow their journey.
Our happy couple is dealing with Ronan's angst about having to return to work after his paternity leave, when Ronan's dad suddenly appears after having been missing since Ronan was a baby. Drama ensues, tempers flare, and the gang gets to work together to check out the claims John O'Mara makes to explain his long absence. I love this series, and I found this book to be a wonderful addition. I love seeing the characters, especially Ronan, change and grow over time. I still hold a grudge against Ten's mother, but I understand his desire to find a way to forgive and let her be part of his and his daughter's lives. All the characters here are still as loveable as always, and I feel happy and warm when I read their sometimes snarky but always supportive interaction. This book is another winner in a series I adore. I'm ready for more!
4.5 solid stars. Would have been a 5-star book if the mystery had been more compelling. The case at hand was both a minor point and a major one. 30 Years after walking out on Ronan and his mother, John O’Mara comes knocking on Ronan’s door and needs his help. When the truth comes out that John didn’t walk out, but rather went into hiding from a crime lord out to kill him after witnessing a murder. Now he needs Ronan and Ten’s help finding out who has named John as the hitman and put a bounty on his head. No spoilers, but suffice it to say things work out, old rifts are healed and everyone is HFN. I enjoyed the family dynamics and the healing of the fractured family, but the actual case was a snooze.
As usual, a good mystery blended with romance, lots of babies, ghosts, and comedic bickering that you usually expect from this series.
I like the way in which Ms Pine included the previous characters and their relationships, keeping us in the loop. The interaction between them is well written, and I enjoy the way in which they've formed their own family group and are totally supportive of one another.
The story's interesting and well written, and introduces yet more characters to the series. I can't wait for Greeley's story. I wouldn't recommend this as a standalone, the characters and former storylines are too intertwined.
This is only my second book from this series, but I love Pandora Pine's writing and her intricate character development. I love Ronan and Tennyson, and their extended network of family and friends. This book includes another murder mystery, and this one hits close to home, as Ronan's long absent father reappears to try to reconnect with his son. Ronan isn't interested, but is there more to his father's absence than Ronan knows...more than Erin's spirit has shared? Bonds and loyalties are tested, with many questions asked and answered. Plenty of angst, poignant moments, humor, laughter, and love.
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest, voluntary review.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Pandora Pine has done it again with this action packed suspenseful read that's also filled with love. To top it off the family got bigger too. Every time I read one of these books and the spin offs I learn so much about the family they have made. I don't know how she does it. I never want to put the book down and I'm always wanting more. True complex world created and the many connections that have been made in the cases as well as the characters shows just how talented and skilled the author is. A world I love to get lost in every time I read one of these books. I am looking forward to where the author leads us next time.
I received this book by the author and This is my honest opinion. I enjoy reading these books, the author has created a great bunch of characters that though the main characters are tenn and Ronan and they do get a good portion of on page scenes we also get the extended family as well. This one is all about ronans past and the unexpected 're meeting of his dad. This was quite the family drama of high emotions, whilst dealing with there new born girl in the mix. What peeved me off a bit was Erin as I felt she should of told ronan all the facts but it all workout in the end. I also liked the snippets of cultural history. Highly entertaining
The Cold Case Psychic group is back... and so is Ronan's long lost dad! Filled with suspense, paranormal themes, humor, strong sense of family and lots of sweetness and sexiness, this book makes the perfect addition to this series. I absolutely love these characters and the world created on these pages. I am never disappointed when reading a Cold Case Psychic book and this is no exception. I cant wait for another book.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
Another case to solve puts Ronan in a difficult position. He has to clear the reputation of his father who walked away from him 32 years before. This created so many emotional challenges for Ronan, and I really like how this novel explored his feelings. He was up, down, and sideways over the reappearance of his father, and we got to experience all of that with him. He really grew as a character throughout the story. The case was interesting, but not so complex that it took away from Ronan learning that he never really got over his dad’s absence. I can’t wait to see what happens next!!
Another home run by Pandora Pine. I'm not usually a fan of continuing to visit the same couple after the HEA, but Ronan and Ten have grown on me, and they've certainly been through adventures. This edition had some heart-warming moments and some that brought tears to my eyes (while sitting on a plane, no less), and once I got past the seemingly endless references to the baby, I enjoyed it. Don't get me wrong, baby Everly Erin is a sweetheart but I got over the diaper blow-out reference pretty quickly. Overall, a solid entry in the continuing Cold Case Psychic franchise.
Ronan and Tennyson are just getting into a routine with Everly, when Ronan's absentee father, John, shows up on his doorstep. He has a reason for missing the last 30 years, and wants Ronan's help. Can Ronan learn to forgive his father's absence? Can Ten and Ronan solve the 30 year old mystery that surrounds John and his reason for leaving, especially now that it seems someone is out to John and anyone who gets in their way? Love the family dynamics of these characters. Every story is a great one.
I love this series but I’m not quite sure why the books have such high ratings, never mind that I’m one of those people who rates them highly. They’re not very well written at all, there are too many characters that are all very similar, all their friends are wonderful and when they have issues, everyone jumps on board to help. Only Tennyson’s mother isn’t great but she’s coming around fast. Most of the characters are gay men and they’re all getting married and having babies. It’s kind of annoying.
But although predictable, the plots are interesting and suspenseful and thrilling with a fair amount of action. There’re a lot of hospital scenes and desperate worry about partners and friends. Just my thing.
This book was the same as all the rest, with the start being that Ronan has to go back to work and leave the baby. A lot was about Everly and her needs and how perfect she is.
Another couple of annoyances:
If there’s a fingerprint, wouldn’t there have to be DNA? Not that they can run it as fast as they were claiming.
They postulated that someone might be a home nurse because the man in the house was “over sixty.” They keep talking about him as an old man. For crying out loud, 60 isn’t old! It’s just entering senior years. I wish I were a healthy as my friends that age are!
You would think that after so many books the series would get boring but not this one. This one just gets better and better and I never tire of these characters and each new case. This one is definitely very emotional with the return of Ronan's father after 30 years. Another great mystery to solve, lots of action, and lots of love with the whole gang. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This is one of my favorite long-running series and this was another great book in the Cold Case Psychic series. This was an emotional read with Ronan's father returning to Ronan. Ronan always assumed he was dead. As always, Ronan had his husband Tennyson, and his mismatched family behind him when he felt himself reeling with the shock of his father. Another great story that kept you on the edge of your page, wondering what would happen next!
Family is not always blood. Families can be those closest us. It's about redemption. Forgiveness. The search for the truth even if it will destroy us.
This time, our favourite boys ate embroiled in another cold case. Despite Ten believing that having Ronan behind a desk means no more attempts in his husband life. His father at the center.
Hard choices were made. Truths come out. Enjoyed the book and looking forward to the next.
Book Eleven and still as big a page turner as ever. A new character. Family angst, in more ways than one. Ronan takes the lead in this one but all the usual back ups are deeply involved. The use of Tennyson’s gift was low key in this one, but Romans’ “visit” made all the difference. A very emotional read. An emotional series. After a very satisfying read the epilogue was lovely but seemed quite final. But I hope we still see the guys in the spin offs. .
Ronan's dad has returned after 32 years with a case that only the boys can solve. This 11th book is as good as the first, with cameo appearances from most of the family and one big surprise for Ronan. This is a great read with the characters that I love, it has a bit of action in and the usual snarky comments from the family. It is another winner from this fabulous author.
