Iris Boys #4

Cross my Heart

Rate this book
What kind of person falls into a relationship with several men? Now I know the answer. Me.

I’ve finally realized that and I’ve come to terms with it. But it seems that fate has one last challenge for us to overcome. Theodora “Teddi” Vandersen, otherwise known as Grayson’s mother, has apparently been following me for weeks now. She thinks it’s my fault that Grayson’s done with her.

Whether it is or not, all I know is that the wealthy socialite will stop at nothing to tear Grayson away from me and the guys. He just found his home with us. I’m not going to let her destroy that. If it means I have to go against her, myself, and risk everything, then…

So be it.

Love this series

You would think getting Knix, Marv, Texas and Bellamy used to the idea of Grayson would be the problem. But no. While things aren't always smooth, the guys have taken things in stride. Grayson's mother on the other hand, is causing big problems. Stalking, threatening, she will do whatever she can to get her precious boy back home with her. After everything they have been through to get where they are, will one small woman be able to ruin it all?

I have adored this series from the beginning. The characters all draw you in and make you love them. The stories are always entertaining and hold your attention. This book is no different. We just have a more personal case this time. I have to say that Grayson, well I had some issues with him this book. In the end though he pulled me back in his corner.

While Teddi is the main focus of the book, we also have some other things going on. Harlow gets taken on a lot of emotional trips. One that had me breaking down. She gets a visit from someone in her past though and let me tell you, she didn't take any crap from them. I was so proud of our little Harlow.

Now this series so far has been a little slower on the sexy times side. Well baby, Lucy cranked up the heat in this one! Overall, it was a well balanced book that I loved. And that ending ❤❤❤❤ My heart is full. Great job by this author and a great series.

Best One Yet!

I just love this series of books. Harlow was just so strong and had such beautiful heart. The boys swoon worthy! I have no favorite one, cause the all are awesome. Texas and me laugh the most! Great read

Ok, I’m going to be very unpopular and say I didn’t love this final instalment. I loved this series up until this book. Then I just couldn’t get into it. Plenty of heat, ties up some loose ends and kind of just finishes on the expected warm and fuzzy note. It was ok, but didn’t have the suspense and intrigue. Still, it did finish nicely and comfortably.

So unexpected but so good!

Whenever a Reverse Harem book is concerned it’s mainly about how one woman does it with several men. In this series thoughit’s all about Harlow becoming a woman on her own. About her strenght and how the men she met along the way only added to the force she had inside of her. i really enjoyed the Iris boy series and I hope I get to read more about them !

Cried like a baby

Where do I start, I've been anxious, happy, frustrated, sad, fearful and shocked that's just a few of the emotions I've gone through reading this. I'm so excited to see there will indeed be a 5th book phewwww. I love all the characters usually in books like this I find I'm more drawn to some. However I love all of their personalities and even Alex he has a heart of gold. This book kept me intrigued and booked until the end. I finished it t within a few hours as I couldn't put it down. Usually with new releases you expect a few grammatical errors but I can't recall any. Another brilliant write and beautiful epilogue. My actually stand out bit was the way they all used their individual nicknames for her at the end. I truly hope the next book is about iris and a job they all have.together. It was definitely the most emotional out of the series so far.

Wonderful ending!

Sad the series is over, but it was a wonderful book! Harlow has grown so much since book one, and this book really highlights that and brings her story to the ending she deserved!

A fitting ending

This iris boys was one of the first RH books I read. It was different and exciting, and this book didn’t disappoint. There were still trials and tribulations but they all got through it together.

Good ending

Tied up some loose ends, enjoyed watching the relationships between Harlow and the boys develop and grow together. Not as much action and intrigue as some of the others, but all in all a good read and good conclusion.

The last book in the series, and I’m sad to see the Iris team go. Where in the last few books, the team have had cases to focus on, this book is very much about them and a somewhat unexpected threat from Grayson’s mother. It jumps straight in there, and I do feel like this may be the fastest paced of the books yet. It’s not that there are big things going on, but there’s always something going on, and there’s a certain amount of urgency knowing that this isn’t a case. This isn’t something they can walk away from at the end; these are their real lives. Something could break up what’s only just started growing.

Grayson is now officially a part of the harem. And while this has been a pretty slow/medium burn series, it is no longer slow. The chemistry is all coming to a head in this book (my inner pre-teen is giggling), with sexiness to be expected across the board.

This is a fantastic conclusion to the series. In many ways, it’s only just the start of their story (and I hope the author will continue to revisit this group occasionally), but the end of this story was fitting, and it felt like it was done; it felt right. There’s a difference between wanting a story to be continued because you’ve simply gotten attached to characters and wanting the story to continue because it doesn’t feel finished. This book is definitely the former, and I think Lucy Smoke got the balance right with this series.

The end is here

That bittersweet moment when one of your favorite series comes to an end, that is where I am at right now. I have loved this series since page one, and this last book did not disappoint. Harlow, Knix, Bell, Marv, Texas, and Grayson are some of my favorite characters that I have ever come across. None of them were perfect, which made them perfect for each other. While I am sad to see their story end, I will continue to relive it with every re-read I do.

I loved this series so much and I hated to see it end! It loved every second with these characters and I wish there was more. I enjoyed it so much and although the ending was literally perfect and left you at a good place I just can’t help but want so much more of them.

Really sad to read the ending of the series! Really enjoyed reading Harlow as they finally deal with Graysons mother. Sad ending, which had me chocked up, but the epilogue has me smiling again!

Harlow loves five men. She's in a relationship with five men. She's come to terms with it. She's grateful for each day with them; grateful for their love. However, not everyone is as accepting of their relationship. In particular, one beautiful rich socialite Theodora “Teddi” Vandersen, also known as Grayson's mother is very against her relationship with her son. She and Grayson are recently estranged and as Teddi sees it, this is Harlow's fault. She is determined to have her son back and is willing to go to extraordinary lengths to get Harlow out of his life. Despite her fears, Harlow is not willing to give up her newest love. Grayson is family now and Harlow will fight for what is her's.

The Iris boys are back. This time it's not a case making their lives difficult, putting their family at risk. This time it's personal. This is the most emotional book in the series so far. So full of feels. I laughed, I worried, I swooned, I teared up. It's also the steamiest. Lots of sexy time! I absolutely loved it. This one was more reality-based and it worked spectacularly. Harlow was so relatable. Consumed with love and gratefulness, she was still fearful, doubting that it could last. Who wouldn't feel this way? She was protective of her love and willing to fight to preserve their family. The guys each had stand out moments. Old faces resurfaced to round out the real world feel. I don't want to give any spoilers but the emotional roller coaster ride was everything I could ask for. I once compared this series to the Ghost Bird Academy series. There are definitely superficial similarities but this one outgrew the other and claimed it's own place in the RH world. It moved at a much more satisfying pace, the characters took on their own clear personas and the relationships. solidified.

Finally, the ending was everything. Little Bit, Sunshine, Sweetheart, Babydoll, Spider-Monkey Princess. Knix, Marv, Bellamy, Grayson, Texas. Then to find out there's even more...

Ok I'm gonna say it.... It's extremely unlikely that a female with X5 boyfriends sleeps in a bed on her own most nights and only sleeps with one guy like each week, I really with there was more steam in these books. It honestly just doesn't hit the mark for a RH.

I also think it's weird that Marv went from basically sleeping in her bed every other night to not at all ...

I like all the boys characters I think she did a good job building them, just missed it with the relationship side. It just doesn't feel believable 🤷🏼‍♀️

The adventure continues…

Cross my heart is book 4 in the Iris Boys series and the drama is still unfolding. Grayson takes the forefront in this story as his family drama affects the group. Get ready for found family, friends, love and heartbreak. The group grows closer and Grayson is accepted into the fold but grab your tissues for the end of the book!

The Iris Boys series should absolutely be read in order and makes for a great binge read! I am off to read the final book in the series… Forever & Always!

What an emotional roller coaster this series has been..and this book has to be the most emotional of them all! This book is all about the Harlow and her men overcoming the personal obstacles instead of fighting for their lives. This book has a lot of ups and downs and it really keeps you invested from start to finish. Great conclusion to a stunning series by an extremely talented author!!

Good finish

This was a good finish and the book wrapped the story up. There is nothing wrong with it, and the pace was fantastic, but I feel the author rushed it. By it, I mean the character's physical relationship when it finally happened and the issue with Grayson's mom. Those reasons are why it got the 4 stars.

Well, this one packs a punch and then some. What could go wrong you may ask...how about a psycho mother of one of the guys you love. Along with heartache that just is gut wrenching...Harlow doesn't disappoint though. This series is a must read! How can it come to an end?
