A Hobson Hills Short
Hobson Hills Omegas: Book 3.5

Bennett Wilson should be perfectly happy. He has a loving husband, three wonderful children, and a house full of pets. His family and friends think he is crazy when he purposely gets pregnant with a fourth child. At his age, shouldn't he be eager for some "me time"? While baby Nate definitely makes Bennett and his husband, Marco, happy, when Bennett learns about a young trans girl in need, he knows they need to step it up.

Marco Wilson is a laid back, perfectly content alpha. He has his Benny, his four kids, and his ranch. His life is full of purpose and joy, so what else could he possibly want? When his omega comes to him in tears, heart broken for a young girl named Tali, Marco takes charge. He loves his Benny and will do anything to make him happy, even if it means adopting a million children. Marco just never expected to find his own happiness at the same time.

Author's Note: 14,428 words. Story takes place in the Omegaverse. This is a m/m, non-shifter, mpreg love story with no angst and no cheating, just a HEA. There are a few potty mouths, so beware. 18+ readers only, please. It takes place between the third and fourth book in the series and while it can be read as a stand-alone, it is better read as part of the series. This story is about an established couple expanding their family.

I have been self-publishing since October 2018. My books are extremely light and fluffy m/m romance with mpreg, and while they span a few subgenres of romance, they have similar themes of found family and love at first sight. Besides writing, I enjoy reading everything I can get my hands on, especially m/m romance. My personal favorites are mpreg, sci-fi, fantasy, and paranormal.

Sweet enough to rot your teeth but a really nice antidote to all the bitter in the world.

The villains are a bit flat and simple but this is one of my new favorite troupes in romance--I am calling it a mid marriage book. We have a committed couple and we get to see not a marriage on the rocks but a shift and a deepening, a falling more in love in someways.

This book is best read in order of the series. I love that Bennett and Marco are the parents of a hero from earlier in this series. Bennett has just had his fourth child in his in his 40's. He has a grandchild near the same age as his youngest.

This story is about his and Marco's love, family, pets (always so many pets in this series and they get fed and litter boxes changed and everything!) and the change to adopt a trans pre teen.

It is lovely, sexy, and heartwarming.

Bennett and Marco have been an established couple since the first book. Their kids are Harper (book #2 MC), Shawn, Hannah, and new baby, Nate. Both in their forties, they caught a bunch of flack from Marco’s mother (Grammy) and sister (Anna) for having another baby when it was very much none of their business. Bennett was several months along with Nate before they even announced the pregnancy. For some nosy reason, Marco’s mom and sister think they know what’s best. You know, for two adult men who are in their forties.

When Bennett finds out about a trans girl who’s having problems in foster care, his heart breaks. Tali’s not being treated well because she’s trans. Bennett talks to Marco and they immediately go through the red tape of fostering the teenage girl and later, adopting her.

Again, Anna and Grammy think it’s their business to butt in.

I really loved those two women in the other books but they really irked me in this one. There’s giving well-meaning advice to your adult child/brother, and then there’s being rude and judgmental. Even so, Bennett and Marco didn’t waste time going back and forth with them because, again, it was none of their business.

When they arrive to pick up Tali to bring her home to Maine – after nightly video calls – they find out about one of her foster brothers who’d been kicked out of the foster home when he turned eighteen. Tomás had been Tali’s only real protector. The foster mom is introduced briefly. I could totally see why Tali needed to get far, far away from the woman. Of course, Bennett and Marco immediately find Tomás and bring him home with them too.

Throughout the series I’ve watched Bennett and seen how much he adores children. Marco, his husband, is happy when Bennett is happy. Their hearts are big enough, open enough, for however many children they’re blessed with, regardless of what Grammy and Anna have to say about it.

Grammy and Anna got over themselves quick enough. I’ve just always had problems with characters like them who feel like it’s their job to tell others how to live their lives. Another thing to note is Tommy, a boy who bullies Tali in her new school in Maine. There’s being forgiving and there’s me thinking, “Here we go again. The author taking a super bad guy and trying to make him good.” I think it’s great that she wants to show that some jerks are capable of turning themselves around, but I also think it’s okay for a character to know when somebody does something bad that it’s okay to walk away from that person. Not everybody has to be forgiven.

But that’s just me.

Overall, a nice, sweet story.

This was a short quick read in the "Hobson Hills Omegas" series. Bennett and Marco Wilson have a large loving family with three kids and they just had a new baby which some of the family members thought they were crazy. When they hear about a kid in need of a family they know they need to help. This was a really good read about helping a kid in foster care giving them a home and letting them be themselves. I really like this series and the Wilson family they are always willing to help. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Bennett and Marco have just had their fourth child and not everyone has been supportive - surely these two men should be getting ready to enjoy their soon-to-be empty nest, not starting all over with diapers and tantrums? But Bennett and Marco are doing what they want to do - raising kids in a happy, chaotic household. And it is at this point that they learn of a child who needs them - one who is not being accepted for who they are. I love this story. I love how welcoming and loving Bennett and Marco are, how their children are the same way, and how their hearts know no bounds. So sweet!

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:
A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

Read this book if you want to smile.

This short story is about Bennett (O) and his husband Marco (A) who have been getting a lot of criticism from some of the Wilson’s about having another baby so late in their life. They eventually convince their family that having more kids is what they want. Together, they decide to open their house and lives to even more children through adoption and fostering. They are able to make a big difference for foster kids who are being treated poorly for their sexuality.

This short story is rated 4 stars. Fast paced with quick solutions and everyone gets along perfectly if a tad unrealistically.

Side Note: This is an important addition to the Hobson Hills series and should be read between books 3 and 4 to avoid confusions about characters in future books.

Personal Note:
I like hearing about families that will reach out and help kids who are not accepted for who they are. This book begins Marco and Bennett’s adventures into rescuing kids who need a safe place to be true to their nature.

LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!

I first downloaded this book because I needed something to occupy my brain because I was bored at a meeting. The next thing I know I'm heavily into this book and I read it during the meeting. I found myself giggling at some points, sniffing at some points, and livid at a point or two in the book. I was very impressed with the portrayal of one of the characters it was done in a tasteful way which I really appreciate. I no quite a few kids that are gay, a couple that are trans, and some that are still questioning. I actually allowed one of the young people I know to read this particular book and they were very tearful and appreciative of the positive spin on one of the kids ( you know when you read the book). Great job C.W.! And while I love all the pets portrayed I would be a little crazy having them all. That said, I currently have a menagerie myself.

Bennett and Marco were almost Empty Nesters, were it not for their 13 year old Hannah. Both boys were over 18 years old and living in their own places. Harper was married to Grey & had already begun a family of of their own.

Bennett and Marco had decided on one more chiid - a little Omega boy born along with several other babies within a few months of each other within the Wilson & Benson clan.

But the large house still felt empty. What better way to fill it than to become foster parents to teens that truly needed them. Not everyone was happy with the decision. It hurt, but the heartfelt gratitude & appreciation they received from their charges more than made up for it.

This book made me cry in a good way.

I wouldn't call this a romance if anything it's like a family romance if that makes any sense? A romantic look at family. It is very touching and I want to be Bennett with my whole heart. if I could write myself a life that would be it. I love love love this author and have read everything they have written and check for more every few days! They write so much so fast and I love all of it!

This book was so sweet and emotional. Bennett is enjoying being a dad to a newborn again while Marco is Marco. This means that he is happiest when Bennett is happy and adores his newborn. When Bennett discovers a trans child in foster care that is not getting the support she deserves, they start the process to bring her home.

I love how in love they are with each other and how they dealt with everyone's opinions of them having another baby and bringing in a teen.

I loved it!

This was a great addition to the Hobson Hills Omega series. It's a short story about Bennett and Marco and takes place between book three and book four. I loved Bennett's big heart and nurturing personality. He has so much love to share and I love how supportive his alpha is. Being foster parents is a perfect outlet for all of that love. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!I read this book using the Kindle Unlimited program.

Yes, this author's writing style is extremely simplistic, but I just can't find it in my heart to care!

These characters just grab your heart and won't let go! Bennett and Marco are the parents that every kid wants to be theirs! They have huge hearts of gold and thank goodness their five-bedroom house is just waiting to be filled up! Looks like these two "should be" empty nesters have different plans for their future than others had for them... so there! *snort* LOL!!!

Love+Work->Dream Fulfilled!

Omega Bennett loves children and to help others. His alpha Marco works their cattle farm just wants Bennett to be happy. Enjoy how Bennett and Marco handle their youngest son Nate, welcome Tali and Tomás into their family and manage to find time for steamy moments together!!!

😀 GREAT “EXTRA”/ADDITION FOR SERIES!👍🏻

👍🏻 BENNETT’S DREAM is labeled as a “short story” — maybe considered to be more of an “extra” book for the HOBSON HILLS series. Whatever you might want to label this book — I believe it is a FANTASTIC addition to the series.

Love Bennett & Marco!

I’m expecting this series to let me down soon but I’m enjoying it too much. Marco and Bennett are that couple who are just as in love as they were when they were in high school. I loved Tali and Tomas.

The way it should be

Marco and Bennett are wonderful parents and great role models. They're loving and accepting, and most importantly, non judgmental. I wish there were more real parents like them.

Love

There are some parts of the book that are overly idealistic, but even so it’s just so damn heartwarming. I love the Hobson hills gang. I’d happily live in their little world.

The story is sweet and touching. Love this series.

Right to the heart

This one stuck my heart hard. Although it's short and we all know that omegaverse m/m can focus a lot on sexual orientation and not be accepted the foster care thing really got me. Just goes to prove that family isn't always blood but bonds.

good

This was such a sweet story. Bennett and Marco are the best. They’re so loving and big hearted and just make the world a better place. It’s sad how close-minded people can be, forcing kids into “normal”.
