No for me

This is a huge no for me. I did lots of page skipping about 50% in because of how ridiculous this RH is. It's so rushed and half the time they need to flirt with the heroine's friend slash not friend anymore ( which is not explained ) and then kiss our heroine behide closed doors then go back to the friend they think is their mate. I was really like come on! She was side chicked so hard most of the time! And with all that going on the story is just so rushed and crazy, like the reason she was taken or that the area that they live in is the wolf's land? This stuff is just dropped like bam! Some of the guys affection toward our girl felt weird, or not really even there, actually the end when she's with one in particular who hasn't showed her an ounce of interest all the sudden is into her was creepy and not right. Won't be finishing this series.

Available via KU. I think this first book in the series has a promising premise. I like that we get enough reveals to keep the reader involved but there are some twists in there that caught us unawares. I think what kept me from upping the star power on this book was a combination of things. First off we have a insta connection type scenerio here but in a twist everyone is fighting the connection because they think they already know who their mate is and its definitely not a human. That of course influences my next point of feeling that there was a disconnect between the characters. By the end I was really wishing they had, had more time..maybe?, to actually develope feelings despite them fighting it. More time to just be a group of people that shared more than this connection. I realize that these two points may be in slight contradiction to what the author's vision for the series was but I can't help but wish that I felt their connection more, or that it was more depth full.

Piper is desperate for freedom from her father's rules and abuse, but first she has to save her money and bide her time for proof of his nature so she can save her sister in the process. More than anything she just wants freedom for her and her sister. Finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel Piper is sure her goals are in sight. That is until the local bully takes a shine to her, and uses his connections to her father to get her to go on a date with him.. All this and there are new guys at school that she has some weird connection with. The date comes and Piper is thrust into a world she didn't know existed, a world she never could have believed was real, or that she belongs there. All of Pipers past comes to light as well as the truth about the town she lives in, and Piper must fight for the freedom she has been dreaming of.. or maybe she doesn't want the freedom as much as she thought... maybe what she really wants is a life for her and her sister, a life where they are loved and feel like they belong.

I like the story line enough to continue but I'm really hoping for more from the characters as this story progresses. I would also like Piper to come into her own and own her life and make it what she wants... so thats what I'm hoping to get from this series as it continues.

I really enjoyed this book. I’m always a sucker for a damsel in distress and Piper is just that. She’s smart, resilient and dedicated to sticking it out for her younger sister. As we see in the prologue Piper is more than she thinks she is and in fact her life as she knows it is a lie. A few weeks before she turns 18 she meets ‘the guys.’ Four to be precise although to be honest for awhile I thought it was only gonna be three of them. There’s insta-attraction on all sides but not much is acted on as the story progresses. Pipers plan to escape never included guys and I enjoyed watching them ‘mess’ up her plans. Honestly I felt like the story could have all been finished in this one book with a few added hookups between her and all her guys. From the story POV much is taken care of, secrets are revealed and I’m curious how the author will progress the series. I think maybe more will come into play with her sister but who knows. I enjoyed all the guys even the broody Kai so I’m looking forward to her fooling around and bonding more with them all. At times the story did have a few high school feeling moments but nothing like the usual catty females or bullying. The story is more focused on pipers actual life than her life at school-it’s just a setting occasionally thrown in, if that makes sense. So far I’d recommend this’ll, it’s a quick easy read and again if someone wanted to I feel they could stop here but I’m all in for the next one.

I feel Their Shifter Princess was a great start to this series. I came into this series having already read the sister series, so I know how things end up, just not their journey. I wish I would have read this series first, and in order. But I still enjoyed the beginning just the same. I would suggest if you are new to May Dawson and want to start out in order, start here. If you are like me, starting out later, this is still a great read, and can be read as a stand alone series.

So we have lots going on here with an great female lead, who is strong. Sexy swoon worthy guys. A good storyline, and a fast pace.

Overall a great read, and one I would recommend.

Good!

I read Maddie’s story before I fell into Piper’s , so I already know the final outcome of this saga.... but I don’t quite know HOW they get there. Book 1 is all about introductions, how Piper first meets her guys and why... and that why matters. It matters a lot. Piper isn’t what she thinks, her world isn’t what she thought and even her sister is not the sister she’s “always” loved. It’s interesting, explanatory and satisfying.

Great read!

I love these kinds of stories, sort of coming of age kind of thing-where the reader knows when they open the book that there’s something paranormal going on, but the main character is clueless. Well written and a great read. I loved how everything fit together and isn’t like other books. I can usually guess everything that’s coming in a book, but the author was able to pull some epic surprises!

Are you really a princess if you dont know that you are a Princess?

This werewolf shifter story was a lot different than what I've read in the past. The pack looking for their long lost princess, and not realizing that they found her until its almost too late. I hope the next book in this series picks up from where this one left off because I want and need to know more about the members of this pack, and how they do and handle things amongst each other.

Not Bad

I liked this more than I expected to. I do feel like things culminated at the end a little quickly, though. It's not like the revelation was a surprise to anyone other than Piper and Callum. Josh, Kai and Nick were already pretty much convinced. Still, things turn out happily, at least.

I was in a slump and really enjoyed this reverse harem.

Key words: Hight school, not insta love, unknown fated mates, she doesn't know she's a shifter, parents dead, wolf pack of 4 men are her mates,

Book starts in the past. A rare baby girl shifter is born in a castle, and a party is thrown. Witches come attack and kill everyone. Four young boys escape, and the baby is taken by the witches.
Fast forward 18 year, she is living with her "father" the witch who stole her and him and his clan are using her powers to fule themselves. she has no idea.

She is a loner at school, until three new boys attend. They are drawn to her but don't know why. There is immediate attraction but not insta love. Josh (charismatic), Kai (quiet and broody), Nick ( loving and friendly), and Calum ( the alpha, leader and oldest).

After escaping from a beating from her father, she acccidently runs over Nick while he is out in wolf form. From then on the boys are drawn to her, but don't think they are the girl they are mean to be with so they are torn.

At the end Alija puts a collar on her to take her magic, her dad takes her into the wood and tells her the truth, and then the coven comes to take her. The pack comes and saves her.

Bad guys: Elija is a guy in her class and wants to date her and bullies her and her father.

One sex scene at the very end with Josh. But lots of kissing throughout with all four men.

overall a cute story, that i enjoyed.

I keep starting "unwanted" only to realize it starts in the middle of a series. This is the first book in the series (I think)

So, I've read this before and as I'm reading it this time, I remembered why I didn't love it. So the guys (wolves) are in town searching for the pack princess who was kidnapped as a baby. The issues (for me) arise because they believe another girl is the one they are looking for and this causes them to dismiss (repeatedly) the MFC. It's like they choose this other girl (feels like cheating)

I'm only 1/2 way through on this reread, so I'll update when I finish.

I was pleasantly surprised If not shocked by this book. I had been putting it off until it was about the only thing left to read. The title really threw me. I expected a trite, simple, obvious book. That wasn’t the case at all.

The book was pretty solid with very few flaws. It didn’t overuse all the common tropes. There was a good balance between the plot and the characters development. Good dialogue between the characters.

The series ended up being a good, solid, entertaining read. I ended up reading the author’s other series.

"I wish I could be special for you."
"Don't you worry about being special, just be mine." book 1 pg. 134

"I'll kill anyone that threatens us. So you have have peace." book 2 pg. 56

**Review is shared for entire series**

Overall, I loved this series. The plot was great, most of the characters were great, the love story was swoon worthy at times. I did give this series 4 stars overall because of this. But there were some things that were lacking.

If you are looking for a shifter romance, with MANY mates, insta-love, and a damaged yet strong FMC that brings her mates together, this book is perfect for you.

The biggest thing being that the series (the first book especially) seemed super rushed. I wished it had a little more depth. Despite that, the author does do a good job of not having any huge plot holes, making the relationships feel real, and the plot does feel complete.

***Spoilers Ahead***

I also found some aspects of the FMC's relationships annoying. Kai is an assh*le throughout the entire series and literally at the end she is still saying he hates her but loves her more. Like, talk about the bare minimum.... And Piper is suchhhh a pushover with all arguments but with Kai it is super annoying. Nick and Piper's relationship is pretty much non-existent. In the first book, he is barely there, in the second book of course the Northern pack is barely with Piper, and in the third they are literally apart the entire time. I loved him but he felt like an extra character. Logan is literally so confusing. He was a complete assh*le out of NOWHERE for like one scene in the second book, and then this strong man is completely insecure in the third book. It just felt like his changed what his personality was like every other scene. Arthur deserved to grovel, and it never happened which was just a huge disappointment.

That being said, Callum, Josh, Sebastian, and Finn are perfect book boyfriends, lovelyyy.

The other thing that just kind of made me shake my head and skim was the sex scenes. Especially in the third book. This is not the first series I've read where someone has been able to heal their mate using sex, but I feel like there should be another way when it's written like the third book was. I know it's a paranormal book, it's not supposed to be believable. But a girl getting down and dirty while her sister and some of her loves are possibly hurt or dead is just... too much. And pretty much all the sex scenes are during that time so it was just weird.

Piper is a high school senior, and she walks her sister Maddie to school on her way every morning. On this particular morning their walk is interrupted by Eli Kingston, his father and hers are friends although business rivals. She knows it's trouble and send her sister running the short distance to the elementary school gates.

Eli wants a date and Piper has the perfect excuse, she's not permitted to date, her father won't allow it. Eli won't take no for an answer and Piper's getaway is perfect. Unfortunately, in the process she lost her wallet and fancy calculator. It's already been a long day and it's just beginning.

She's leaning her head on her arms and concentrating on her breathing when someone behind her asks if she's okay. This is an unusual occurrence since no one ever asks. It's one of the new boys, Josh and he's attractive and seems nice.

With no wallet she has no lunch, so she heads out to her favorite hill to read. Only it's already occupied by Josh and two others. Josh's brother Nick and cousin Kai. They'd moved here with their Uncle Callum. While they ate she got the impression from their questions the like Missy and wanted to dethrone Eli.

Ther repercussions from her encounter with Eli that morning comes to a head when Eli shows up with his father after dinner. This is when we see her father's true nature and it's not pretty.

Her father also finds her cash stash in the process of having her empty her room except for her schoolbooks. He engages with her in the garage where she's putting her things. She manages to get away before he hurts her too badly and drives one of the cars away. She heads out of town to find a place to feel safe for the night. A dog dashes out in front of her car and when she jams on the brakes the car spins. When it comes to a stop, she checks to be sure no one is following her and then checks on the dog.

Josh is surprised when Piper is with Kai when he brings in the dog. He does help her feel safe and comfortable though.

For the reader it's easy to put two and two together and realize the dog is actually Nick. However, it's a while before Piper learns about all of that.

There's a lot of deception and secrets with Piper's father, and secrets extend to Josh and his family and Eli's as well.

There's plenty of suspense and lots of angst as this story unfolds. So many secrets revealed as Piper, Josh, Eli and Nick begin a relationship.

This was lovely. An engaging plot, likeable main characters with clear and distinctive voices, and a female “rival” who isn’t a lazy stereotype, how unusual! Above all, I want to point out how impressed I am with Piper and her choices, as unlike most

The guys were also great, including Kai, the token asshole. His abrasiveness is never bad enough to alienate the reader, and thankfully doesn’t last too long. If anything, my only issue with the relationship would be

That said, I still very much enjoyed the book. Regarding the audio version, I wouldn’t say either narrator was great, but neither would I say they were terrible. Their performance wasn’t memorable (I really feel they missed the tone in some scenes, such as the final school lunch scene, which I felt should have been ‘lighter’), but it was also not so distracting I will be changing my reading format for the next book.

So all in all, I am happy I read this book and will certainly be both finishing the series and checking out other works by May Dawson. This is the first of her books I read and I am happy I did, for it was a lovely experience.

Great story! Could use a bit of editing and maybe tweaking at the end

This book kept my attention throughout. The plot was pretty great. Eighteen years prior, a baby girl was born to a pack of wolf shifters. That night, they were attacked by witches, and she was taken away. Growing up, she was raised by a man who she believed was her father, who abused her. He was a powerful, wealthy man who had a lot of influence, and she was doing what she could to get her and her little sister out from under his thumb.

Meanwhile, three new guys start at her school. She's drawn to all of them, and they SEEM to be drawn to her, but for some reason, they keep flirting with her ex-friend, Misty. She doesn't understand it, despite one of the guys begging her to trust him.

As time goes on, secrets are revealed, and truths come out. By the end of the book, you can technically choose to leave it as is as a HEA, or you can continue to read the next book.

I loved the characters, especially the three younger guys. I liked Callum, too, despite him being a bit less... "attached." I understand where he was coming from in regards to keeping his distance from Piper, of course, but I wish he had used his instincts a bit more rather than just telling the other guys that they were wrong. However, that was just a part of the overall plot.

This would have been possibly a 5 star rating if there weren't issues with spelling. At one point, there were three or four words (one of which was also misspelled) in a sentence that were totally random and not a part of the sentence at all.

Also, near the end, Piper revealed to Callum what she learned from her "dad." Yet, after what had just gone down (I won't give any spoilers), he should have already known to a point. It was the whole reason stuff had "gone down" to begin with. They had even talked a little bit about it after the fact! It wasn't a huge deal, but it didn't quite make a lot of sense.

I'm sort of debating continuing the series, but I'm curious to read Maddie's story which comes after these books, so I'll likely push forward.

This is my review for the series as a whole

Book 1: 3 stars
Book 2: 2.5 stars
Book 3: 3 stars

Well, if you like reverse harem books then you will probably enjoy this series. The main character piper grows on you and you understand her motivations and there are well written erotica scenes while not compromising on having a compelling plot. (Note: the sex scenes were great but definitely not as kinky as they could have been but that’s up to one’s taste)

Book 1 was good but underdeveloped with characters, plot, and with the world building. Piper and the main boys in this book seem to get along and work things out among each other and with her almost too easily to be believable and the villain was a bit strait forward and pipers actions made her seem very unrealistically naïve which gets fixed in the latter books. The reason none of the books got above a 3 is the world building was practically non existent, that being said, the character building(of all the characters including the villain), is good and is much better in books 2 and 3. Book 2 didn’t quite make it to three stars because it didn’t have a real conflict or climax in the plot, it was more of a filler and character development for book 3 but book 3 was fun and had tons of action (in both senses of the word). I will say that, although I liked the ending and leaving it a bit open, I definitely thought (and wanted) it to end with piper in a different position which will probably be obvious once you read the books and what I thought May Dawson was hinting at but I guess not.

Overall, it was a decently fun quick read with enough plot to keep me going and some really hot sex scenes so I’ll definitely want to read the sequel series but I probably wouldn’t put this series on my favorite books list or my reread list because there was nothing groundbreaking about it, it was just fun!

I enjoyed this first book in this shifter RH trilogy. I had been eyeing this (the cover always grabbed me) and was happy I got it during the big end of summer audible sale. I am not disappointed at all so far! I am already in book 2 because I was sucked into this story and didnt want to let go.

I think for me, this audio is effortless in terms of enjoying. Not sure if it's the performances that were great or if the relationship building and storytelling were stellar. It does have some higher angst in book 1 because of Piper's horrible father and the things he puts her and her sister through. I could tell some of the twists early on but it didnt detract from my enjoyment. I love the animalistic part of shifter romances, especially the pack mentality, protecting mates, easy breezy love sometimes. This wasn't always the case in this book, because the characters didnt have the full story, but I like how despite thinking Piper wasn't theirs they didnt care/started to fall for her regardless. I was hoping the older character would be in on it too, so crossing my fingers for that in book 2 😍

I loved the female narrator, I have listened to her a bunch of times and enjoy her rendition at 1.4-1.5X speed. I have listened to the male narrator before and I think the only critique I would give is his breathing can be distracting (sharp inhales/over-exaggerated breathing) which would take me out of the story sometimes. I think if he wasn't doing it so often I would give the overall narration a 5./5 but I am going giving it 4-4.5.

Definitely would recommend this for anyone, but specifically those who are looking forward to getting lost in a new book, that wants stories that arent too dark but has some angst, and those who love the bonds that form between shifters in PNR romances. Can't wait to finish up this series ❤️

Piper is a small town girl whose father has owns half their town. However her life is far from perfect with no real friends and her father often goeing overboard on punishment...she counts the days until she turns 18. She has a plan to save her and her sister. However as she become friends with the 3 new boys in school she funds new desires awakened. The boys have their secrets too they are werewolves and are searching for their pack princess kidnapped 18 years ago who they believe is her friend Misty. As the coven closes in and Piper finds herself caught in the crossfire will the boys put aside their pack to help her?
The is a sweet romance where the boys find themselves being the good guys and trying to save Piper and her sister. The characters are well written and the authors descriptions are detailed and paint a perfect picture.
My only issue is the book was a bit predictable but sometimes it's nice to know what to expect. I put the book down with satisfied feeling of "I knew everything was going to work out!" Sometime good does defeat evil.
There is a lot of kissing and tense moments of attraction with only one fairly detail sex scene. With the book being about kids in high school I'd suggest it's audience is older teens and young adults depending on their maturity.
Warning there is physical and mental abuse by a parent and other bullying by kids in this book that may trigger some.

The storyline was ok. I read all three books and they all were mediocre it wasn't spectacular, but it wasn't horrible either. I had big aspirations for this book so I was disappointed, but it was not as horrific as some other RH books I've read. There were a lot of typos and the author got her characters mixed up on what happened to who. I really don't like how Maddie is acting like a spoiled brat when all her sister has ever done is protect her and make her life better. I'm not sure where this came from, but why would she ignore her sister when Piper literally sacrificed herself for her?!!? A lot of places in the books seem like random thoughts and ideas were spontaneously put there as an afterthought and did not get reread to make sure it actually fits. Piper and Misty never formed a friendship even though it was hinted at. She completely abandoned school. Also in the third book, I am not sure why there are sea monsters. That came out of the left field and smacked an outfielder in the face. There also didn't seem to be a lot of relationship forming. They ignored her one day and thought she was useless then the next they were helping her and professing their undying love to her.

Audio book review

Book 1 in the series. I have listened to May Dawson stories . May knows how to write gripping attention grabbing characters . The hero’s are strong, has a strong mind and knows what is important. All the hero’s there are 4 hero’s that are werewolves. They are trying to find the lost baby from their pack that the witches stole and killed the pack .
Piper doesn’t feel the love from her father , she gets abused but she doesn’t know why . One day at school Piper meets 4 hot guys , she’s drawn to them . Piper finds out who she really is and why her supposedly father hates her . Her powers are contained .
The wolves are confused by their feelings for Piper . Pipers mates think another girl at the school is their lost princess . Pipers father ( the witch ) has plans for her which isn’t good . A war breaks out between the witches and the wear wolves . Who will win , grab it and get lost in a great story .

The performance of Stephanie Rose and Chris Chambers was great . They did all the characters perfectly

Piper is a seventeen young woman living in a house with her. "Father" and younger sister Maddy.
Since she can remember her father his subject to mood swings and takes his frustration on her. Appearances and power are essential in his life.
As if her life wasn't complicated enough, little rich boy Eli, with the pea size brain, spoiled to the core, football star without talent and, overall bully with the following that these cretins attract, wants to (his words)"own her" sentiment that makes Piper sick.
When three boys arrive at school to follow courses, Piper feels a certain attraction towards all of them and the sentiment is shared.

The author creates a much familiar story about teenagers, their raging hormones and their bravado that knows no bounds.
She grips the reader from the start and take him / her on a virtual adventure where you cannot do anything but root for Piper who lives with such tourments. The many twists and turns as well as Piper's dedication to the well being of her little sister makes this book, one that I highly recommend and rate 5 Stars.

It was interesting to see how it all started. I loved Their Shifter Academy series and was curious about Maddie’s childhood and wanted to see how Piper became who she is “now”.

I know that it’s a trilogy and everything is going to progress with each book but I was ready for something more intense, I think. I’m not a fan of reading about child abuse and I’m strongly against it - not only because it’s WRONG but because it’s triggering for me - but I was ready for it here. Yes, there’s one scene with a car and in a cave. I was imagining something more descriptive 😅 On one hand, thank goodness, on the other, it was anticlimactic.

I wasn’t invested fully into character’s lives. The pacing was slow for me too.

Most of all I liked Maddie and she is not even a main character here 👀

Although, while watching Piper I was thinking about my own sister and how much I’m grateful for her. Going to call her and say it in person. So there’s that.

Not sure if I want to continue with the series yet.

Love could cost me everything.
It’s love that keeps me coming home, to the beautiful house full of ugly secrets. As soon as I’m eighteen, as soon as I can take custody of my little sister myself, I’m going to run.
Survivors don’t fall in love.
But my world is turned upside down by four mysterious men. The heat between us is intense. Their protectiveness feels real. Overnight, they become gods in our town. They can’t seem to stay away from me. I can’t resist them.
Lovers don’t survive.
I can't risk my chance to save my sister, though. Not even to save my heart.
Is there any hope I can take care of her…and still lose myself in the arms of these men?

Heather's Notes
So this book is suppose to be a reverse harem, but she is only with one of the guys, which I guess is ok for the start of the series. To be honest, I expected more heat and steamy scenes. Instead we got a lot of "looks". The plot was good and I did like the characters. I am very satisified with were the book ended and do not go if I will go any further.

This book was SO good. To me, it had everything in it for me to want to rate it 5 stars and give it a 5 star review. It had action, suspense, alpha males that were sweet & multi-layered, romantic build-up that didn’t take too long but wasn’t immediate either. Sex that wasn’t too graphic but just enough to leave you breathing heavy but not so much sex that it is all the book is based on. Amazing writing. Witches, wolves, a strong heroine who fights her own battles but has her guys behind her, willing to protect her if she needs it. At the end a beautiful friendship between her and a girl, the sweet bond she has with her sister. It takes a lot for me to find a book that I rate 5 stars and write an actual review. This book did NOT disappoint and I am SO looking forward to seeing more of ‘Piper’, Maddie, Josh, Callum, Nick & Kai.
Applause to you, author! You did it with this one! Amazing work.

I liked this book a lot. Things could have gone a lot worse, but it definitely takes you on an emotional ride. I will say that it's quite transparent in terms of being predictable. I liked the guys and how each of them have distinct personalities. Piper is fierce and loves her sister deeply. It's their fight against their father that kept me turning the pages even more than the romance between Piper and the four guys.

The romance was sweet sexy, thought a little awkward and easy too in some ways. She never seemed to question much why she was so drawn to all four of them or why they seemed to be fine with it. The nature of the romance falls on the border between young adult and new adult. Since she turns 18 in the book, I suppose you could just call it new adult.

Their Shifter Princess is a wild supernatural ride full of heart. I look forward to reading more about this wolf pack!

Their Shifter Princess was a lot more bland than I was expecting. The shifter elements weren't any help either, sadly.

On paper, the storyline has potential. The core elements of missing shifter, broken pack or the mistaken identity all create interest yet it's not executed in a way to build on this initial interest to get invested in the story. At all times, we just floated on this surface level; things are happening and sometimes they just feel random and superficial. I wanted to connect with Piper and her situation yet we never go enough in-depth to feel for her.

The harem was disappointing. The guys have barely any characterisation and I couldn't feel anything from their interactions with the FMC. Even as a pack, they don't give me the vibes I expect from my shifter books.

The end was a mess. Things happening in a rush to reach some point the book wants to reach to the point of making all of it looking hollow.

Not sure I’ll read on, but a decent start.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

Good pacing, retationship development and some action keeps the story moving. There are multiple POVs which is always my preference. No big surprises, but not exactly formulaic.

It feels like some scenes are missing for explanations like how the pack has this much money, how could the house remained unsold (trust fund?), does someone have hacking skills to change records, wouldn't Piper get an official visiting to tell her the witch died (or maybe they just hadn't been found in the woods which would be good since the fauna would help reduce the evidence), who gets all his assets, etc.? Hopefully more backstory is filled in on the guys and how their lives were in foster care in the next book. I have a really hard time believing no one would report her obvious mistreatment, but maybe more magic was involved.
