This was my first book by Goddard. But not my last.
It is the second book in a series but It can be read as a stand alone. I did not feel lost at all.
I love a good romantic suspense story, and I was pleasantly surprise by this one.
You have to pick up a copy of this 4 star read, you are going to enjoy the story.

Well I had wanted to read this book slowly and enjoy it. Sorta didn't turn out that way though. Oh no worries, I definitely enjoyed it but I devoured it in a page turning frenzy.
Each adrenaline soaked page read fueled me on to the climatic ending. Surely not how I would have expected it to end! The suspect was a real wack job let me tell ya and not at all who you would expect.

As I read this book I realized more and more that I should have read the first book first. Not because this book can't be read as a standalone. But because I wanted to know more about this world and the McKades.

But I did certainly enjoy Heath and Harper's story. I have to say that I very much did not expect the twist that the plot took. At the beginning it appeared to be going one way, and I will add that it also seemed like just about every suspense book that I had ever read. But th

Romantic suspense novels must have non-stop action with death knocking on the heroine and the heroes door with a budding romance between the two. With Always Look Twice by Elizabeth Goddard, her story does definitely that. From the first chapter, I was thrown into a hair raising situation with Harper and wanted to know how the man behind the shotgun was too. Throughout the entire novel, Goddard did a fabulous job at tightening the noose around Harper's neck. Even so far as to have the police su ...more
Always Look Twice was a book that immediately grabbed my interest as it opened right into a moment of suspense and tension. Harper Reynolds was out enjoying nature, minding her own business, and trying to cross an item off of her bucket list when her peaceful moment quickly spiraled into a dire circumstance after she witnessed a murder. It was quite apparent, with Harper’s anxiety and inner thoughts about the situation unfolding in front of her eyes, that there was a traumatic backstory with her ...more

‘She focused her camera on the killer, taking a kill shot of her own.

This was just a really good book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Elizabeth Goddard continues her Uncommon Justice series with this second book. Harper Reynolds is on a sabbatical from her job as a crime scene photographer after the stresses of the job got to her. She finds that photographing nature brings her peace, but then she looks through her lens and sees a woman murdered.

Another page-turning, action packed, romantic-suspense by Elizabeth Goddard. Oh my where to start with this one. This series has only gotten better. The dynamic chemistry between Harper and Heath brings the two together in a believable way, you can help but root for them. Throw in a murder and you have a fantastic fast-paced story that'll keep you on the edge of your seat.
Wow! Always Look Twice was fantastic! This story quite literally started off with a bang and the danger and tension just didn’t let up. Whether I was frustrated with law enforcement for their doubts about what Harper saw, wondering exactly who was behind all of the death and destruction, or hoping that Harper and Heath could forgive themselves and make a future together, I was eagerly turning pages in this novel to find out what happened next.

The author kept me guessing until the exa

Always Look Twice by Elizabeth Goddard is the second book in the Uncommon Justice series about the McKade brothers.
This story chronicles oldest brother Heath, a former Green Beret and presently owner of a guest ranch and a part-time deputy.
Harper Reynolds and sister Emily are touring National Parks in Emily’s vintage, refurbished Airstream. Harper is taking a break from her job as a crime scene photographer at the suggestion of her therapist. The last stop on their trip is a town they lived in

Another Elizabeth Goddard book I could not put down! With her trademark flare for intense and fast-paced action and suspense, the author creates an intriguing tale where the past and the present coalesce when Harper, a crime scene photographer, returns to her hometown and becomes a target herself when she witnesses a murder. Heath, a guest ranch owner and volunteer deputy, is pleasantly surprised to see his childhood best friend return to their hometown but quickly gets embroiled in the trouble ...more

This is the second story in the Uncommon Justice series, which is about three brothers, but it easily reads as a stand-alone. I really like Ms. Goddard's writing style and enjoyed Heath and Harper's story. I thought the action was well paced, although I would have liked a bit more on the romance side. It had enough action to keep you on your toes, but not so much action that it made the investigators look inept, which I have ran into a lot lately, it seems. And as far as the villain, I had accus ...more

Always Look Twice ( Uncommon Justice Book #2 )
By: Elizabeth Goddard
Always Look Twice is book two in Uncommon Justice Series. Another page turner of action and suspense that keeps you turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. The story and the characters both are well written. I was captured right at the start and did not want to put it down. You just don’t know what a day of nature and picture taking will turn into . With an intense opening chapter that immediately draws you into the story, Always Look Twice ramps up the danger and mystery from the get-go. And then we find out Harper and Heath were childhood friends (and Harper may have had a little crush on said friend when she was twelve).

Both of these characters carry guilt and blame themselves for events in their past they had no control over. Neither feels like they can commit to a relationship, yet, despite their best efforts, the pull of a

“You're a survivor Harper. That's nothing to feel guilty about.” Heath's words drifted back to her. He was right. She should stop feeling guilty and do something this time about the murder she witnessed.

Crippled by a fearful past that lead to her become a crime scene photographer, Harper Reynolds takes the advice of her therapist and travels with her sister to Bridger-Teton National Forest to photograph peaceful nature scenes. As the book description says, she inadvertently captures a murder
Always Look Twice is a great new book in the Uncommon Justice series that takes place in the wilderness of Wyoming, near Jackson Hole and Grayback. Elizabeth Goddard does a wonderful bringing the setting to life with characters that are real and well developed. It's a return to the area after the prior book, Never Let Go, where we met Heath McKade, owner of Emerald M Guest Ranch, where guests can hike, camp, ride horses and many other outdoor activities. Wow! What a wild ride! This book was so good! I really didn’t want to put it down! I was hooked in chapter 1. I really enjoyed the characters and their struggle to find the killer. I was really surprised by who the killer was. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

This book grabbed me in the first chapter with its introduction into this plot!  Any time there is a murder in the first few pages of a book, you can bet I am sticking around to see where it's headed.  I felt like there was enough action sprinkled throughout this story to keep me guessing at what was coming next. I really loved that there were paragraphs here and there that were from the villains perspective, I felt like it allowed me to get a sense of what was motivating him and also prompted s ...more

Just the first chapter grabbed me and didn’t let go…

“Harper Reynolds inched forward, hoping she hadn’t made a mistake in coming there. After she positioned her camera on the tripod, she zoomed in closer with her long telephoto lens.”

She just wanted a peaceful, serene environment to take pictures of nature and then…

“She focused her camera on the killer, taking a kill shot of her own.”

Wow… What an opening! A bear, a killer, and a witness...made for a

This was quite an adventure! Just like the first this book had me hooked fast! The pace at the beginning was absolutely thrilling.

It slowed down a little for me in the middle and I felt a little bogged down by drama and details, but I still loved the story.

Once again I was thrilled with a unique career for the leading female character. A crime scene photographer was a new one for me and very intriguing.

Goddard is also excellent at keeping you guessing. She doesn't make i

Elizabeth Goddard has cemented her place among the few trusted authors that I “go-to” for Romantic Suspense. Their romances are always intense but you don’t have to worry about reading anything that will embarrass you. And the suspense - I’m not someone who EVER gets afraid of anyone or anything. However, last night as I sat intently reading ALWAYS LOOK TWICE, my dogs (all three of them) alerted to something at the front door. I almost jumped off the couch! Funny thing

Childhood friends reconnect in “Always Look Twice”, by Elizabeth Goddard (Revell), a romantic suspense story with more action and twists and turns than romance.
Heath and Harper are great characters, who share a strong, beautiful connection dating from childhood and realize when they meet again that they’re still “kindred spirits”. They’re both been broken and damaged by traumatic events in their lives and find healing with e

Talk about the edge of your seat, yes, this one will grab you right from the beginning, and it doesn’t let go until the last page is turned.
You won’t get to comfortable and you won’t think you know the ending, no, not possible, this one is non-stop action, and then more!
Now this is the second book in this series, and they are connected by location and brothers, but they are really stand alone, but don’t miss either of these they are excellent, and there is another brother!

What an amazing book from Elizabeth Goddard in her Uncommon Justice series!
Goddard is a favorite author of mine, in fact I reread a lot of her books because I have enjoyed them so much. She has a talent for weaving words together that bring the plot, setting, and characters to life for me.
This is the second book in this series, but for me it's an easy stand alone story. Yes, there is a common thread, but it's not necessary to read the first book. I do encourage everyone to rea

Always Look Twice by Elizabeth Goddard is a romantic suspense book. This is book 2 in the Uncommon Justice Series, but the story stands alone.

Harper is a crime scene photographer who has taken some time off to heal at the suggestion of her therapist. I am happy to see more authors adding in that their characters are seeking help. I think it helps people/readers understand that it is okay and more common than they may realize.

This is the second book in a series, and it's just as good, if not better than the first!

The action is there, right from the very first page.

I loved Harper. She is a character you can't help but seeing as a new friend.

This wonderful story has a lot of oomph. When Harper witnesses a murder while taking wilderness pictures and gets injured trying to run away she never expects her hero to be a cowboy on horseback. Especially when that cowboy was her best childhood friend, Heath.
