This title was originally published in Melanie Shawn’s Hope Falls Kindle World as Kissed by a SEAL. Elements of the world, including characters, are used with permission. It connects to Snowed In, a Hope Falls novel by Melanie Shawn (where you first meet Julie), and Fall Away and Fall Fast, two SEALs Undone novellas by Zoe York (where you first meet Jason).
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Zoe York is a busy working mom of two young boys, wife to a very understanding soldier, and creator of modern, sexy, small town contemporary romances.
She lives in London, Ontario and is currently chugging Americanos, wiping sticky fingers, and dreaming of heroes in and out of uniform.
This series ended with a fizzle. A very lacklustre last entry in the SEALs Undone series, this book was mostly the sexual activities of the two protagonists while they go from meet cute to marriage. We are never actually shown much of their relationship at all. The story often skips forward by weeks each chapter and we see the two going from sexy time to sexy time. I’m not sure how they even got engaged and got married as they didn’t really spend any time together. We get glimpses of their emails back and forth, some phone calls and then just sexy times. Very fast moving relationship but I didn’t really believe their connection. The characters are also completely undeveloped, other than him being a good looking, nice guy and her being curvy and kinda flighty (ha pun intended, she’s a flight attendant). Anyway this one can be missed and didn’t really do much for me, it was completely forgettable. Too bad as this series was a cute, quick, low angst go to for me.
WHY.IS.IT.OVER?!....this is what I'm screaming right now. And not because the story needs more, simply because I was enjoying the journey of Julie and Jason so much!
It's a simple journey. You're not gonna find much angst or darkness here. It's simply a smooth insta-love connection between two people.
It's a story of right now. It's not a story of Jason's past and how he got here today. Nor is it a story of Julie's past and how she got here today. It's a story of Julie and Jason today, in the now. And it's perfectly done ... #TRUST
Boy, I wish every writer would take notes from this author about what makes a fun and sexy romance. In this case, it's two people with complicated jobs - Jason, a navy SEAL and Julie a flight attendant who meet at a mutual friends and realize right away that they've got something special between them. But just because it's attraction at first sight, doesn't mean things are going to be easy. Because of all the travel involved, they have to plan if they want to be together (though sometimes spontaneous visits work out just as well) and from the start they are willing to do that. They share some sexy scenes together, but are also willing to share the deeper stuff. Half the fun is the texting and the messages back and forth as they dive in head first to this new relationship. It's a wonderful addition to the Hope Falls world, and I loved the epilogue! It's a short novella, but a perfect read. 5 stars.
Note: a copy of this story was provided by the author for review.
Decent character development for a short, this one was engagingly written. It wasn’t my favourite premise by far, but the author managed to make it a little interesting. I skipped all the graphic intimate scenes (they’re really not my thing) and I need to figure out if all the installments of this series are like that. All in all, a sweet and safe read. No OP drama.
Loved this fun quick read! Jason and Julie are so cute together and it shows that a little effort is worth it in the end. Jason is a SEAL stationed in San Diego. Julie is a stewardess home based in San Francisco. Their story is one of insta-lust that quickly turns to love even though their careers and locations through up all sorts of obstacles.
The story is wonderful and even though it's a short novella, the characters are well developed and will grab your heart. I highly recommend this one.
This book was really adorable. It was a short, sweat and emtional kindle romance, I loved how Jason and Julie always fought to make each other happy and support each other no matter how far away from each other they were. I would like to read more from this author.
I love these Kindle worlds where authors bring their characters into the world of another author, and in this case the authors are bringing their characters to Hope Falls.
Zoe York's full-length stories are absolutely great, but my goodness, the woman can write a novella. She has figured out a formula that works -- the storylines rarely feel rushed, the love rarely feels instant, and you leave the story feeling good. They always feel real.
As with all of her SEAL books, this one was quick, and while Jason may not be one we've read about a ton, he has made an appearance. In a previous SEALS UNDONE book, we met Jason (best friend of Nathan). Nathan and Jason are best friends, and upon a meeting, Jason meets Nathan's fiancee, Emme, and her friend (another flight attendant) Julie. Julie has sworn off men, and Jason is convinced there isn't a woman out there that will understand his life right now, so watching these two as the attraction boils and the chemistry sizzles, yet still fighting what they (think they) want to hold on to... It was a fun story.
To help with the whole insta-love thing from happening, we get a time jump or two, and with it we see some really cute Jason moments. This big bad SEAL certainly has his cute, lovable times. I loved that our characters had to work to be with one another -- he was a SEAL after all.
I would have really loved to see this story longer -- I obviously understand why it was not. I didn't leave the book feeling like I was missing anything, I just didn't want to give these two up! I wanted to know more of their pasts and I wanted to see more of their future.
A great read for the Zoe York SEALS UNDONE fan, but also a really great read for the reader who doesn't know Zoe York's style. This little piece will certainly whet the appetite and have you wanting to read her other works.
*received a copy of the title in exchange for an honest review.
The awesome thing about Kindle Worlds is that you don't have to be a fan of one author to fall in love with another. This is another outlet to introduce readers to talented authors in an unconventional way that works surprising well. I received an ARC of Kissed by a Seal in exchange for an honest review. I love to read and don't always have a lot of time to explore that passion. With Kissed by a Seal Ms. York supplied a book that is short and sweet but doesn't shortcut on the story. Right away that appealed to me. This novel gave me the things I seek out most when reading a book. A good story that centers around my favorite genre (romance) and a series that I can revisit again whenever I want. Whenever I read a Zoe York novel I know it will be a book that is not easily forgotten with characters easily loved. This was no exception.
I love it I was not able to stop smiling through out the whole book - I got it as part of the ARC and I cannot wait to hear more about Julie and Jason's story. Love at first sight or Lust at first sight; it does not matter as long as the trip is full of laughter and romance. The road may be small but it did not lack emotion and they deserve (or we do) to have a happy ending. This book was the perfect break from a crazy weekend and I cannot wait for more
Well, the allure of a quick and steamy Zoe York novella was too strong for me to resist. I was gonna save this final story in the SEALs Undone series for another time...but then I didn’t.
And I’m so glad because Fall Easy was SO good!
Julie, a flight attendant from San Francisco, and Jason, a SEAL stationed in San Diego, meet through mutual friends Emme and Nathan (from Fall Fast - SEALS Undone #5, which happened to be one of my favorites from this series!). Their first night together gets interrupted and cut way short when Jason gets called back to his base early, but he makes sure they exchange contact information before he hurries off.
When Julie doesn’t hear from Jason for a week, she’s disappointed. Just as she’s beginning to convince herself that her feelings for Jason must have been stronger than his, he calls and convinces her to give him a chance. They spend the next several months trying to arrange their busy schedules so they can spend any time together they can.
I love a story where the hero is willing to play the long game to get the reluctant girl. Hot and heavy instalove is fun and all, but there’s something inherently romantic about the couple who pine for each other because they’re separated geographically and the relationship develops through flirty emails and steamy texts.
The only thing that wasn’t completely satisfying is that this novella was originally two separate stories (novella-ettes?), so we get to see them declare their love...then there’s a time jump of five months where now they are engaged and planning their wedding. I loved Julie and Jason, so of course I want MORE of them. And to leave out such a pivotal and presumably romantic part of a couple’s story was like eating a fun-sized Snickers bar at 2PM when you’ve skipped lunch. But the rest of this story was such perfection!
So now I’m finished with the SEALs Undone series. I'm equal parts satisfied - I DO love finishing a series, after all! - and sad, as I am when finishing a series with stories and characters I loved. But I’m sure there are several books in this series I’ll visit again and again because they were just that good.
Julie has been dumped for the eight time and fears engaging in a rebound, so she asks her friend to stop her. But then she meets Jason, a Navy SEAL and all bets are off. Even though she'd put men on the back burner, Jason is worth trying again. And even though they're relationship would be long distance, with her being a flight attendant and him being called out for his work all the time, they both agree that whatever they have is special and worth a try.
This wasn't bad, but it just didn't do much for me. Maybe I was feeling nitpicky about Jason, but I couldn't really appreciate the fact that, even after being told she wasn't in a mindset for starting anything flirtations and he acknowledged it, he still jumped straight into possible sex that night. And despite both of their protestations that this was more than sex, it basically felt like insta-lust and sex. Even Julie worries that Jason only wants sex - he calms her down and says he wants to get to know her, but that as soon as he sees her face-to-face again, they're jumping into bed together. Maybe they were both open to having more, but they jumped into the sex SUPER fast, without knowing anything about each other. So this definitely had the chemistry and the passion, but not so much the romance...although Jason's declaration of love at the airport was pretty damn romantic. Also, the whole long-distance relationship with a SEAL thing doesn't do much for me either, so if that's not something that you mind, you will probably love this. It's still a good story, but not really my preferred kinda romance.

Can a SEAL and a flight attendant who live in opposite ends of the state really make a long distance relationship work?
Jason and Julie have so much trouble getting together not only because they live on opposite ends of the state but because of her flight schedule and his deployment and training schedule. Scheduling time together when you live in the same city with their schedules but they have to figure out the distance thing too. And Julie is a lot gun-shy because of so many failed relationships . And her last boyfriend broke up by text. Can they really make this work or will she protect her heart and not truly give it a real chance?
I loved everything about the story. Very hearts and flowers and light.
I liked Julie coz I can totally relate to her and Jason was just so romantic! The entire story was realistic enough to make me interested every page of the way.
I loved the entire SEALs Undone series and Zoe York has a special place in my heart.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Jason's and Julie's story! From the start Julie gets a clear picture of what dating this Seal will entail, but the rewards definitely must be considered. Just the right amount of sexy with loyalty; personal and country. You'll enjoy it!
I loved the way Julie and Jason meet - at Emme and Nathan's apartment, with Nikki as her wingman. I really loved the chemistry between them. They made their relationship work. Thank you Ms. York for a great ending for a great series. Can't wait to start another.
I loved how these two just fell into a relationship, no questions, no qualms, just meant to be! They were sweet together, they were hot together, they were just happy to be together. Their wedding is a perfect cumulation of this series <3
I love this story more than all the rest and I will read this series again and again. This is absolutely a must read. I would recommend this book to everyone.
