Shéa MacLeod has dreamed of writing novels since before she could hold a crayon. She totally blames her mother.
Her favorite poem as a child was ‘Jabberwocky’, and Her favorite authors were Agatha Christie and Edgar Allan Poe. Which probably explains a lot.
After a six year sojourn in London, England, a dearth of good donuts has driven her back to her hometown. She now resides in the leafy green hills outside Portland, Oregon where she indulges in her fondness for strong coffee, Ancient Aliens reruns, lemon curd, and dragons.
Because everything's better with dragons.
Shéa is the author of the SUNWALKER SAGA (a fast paced urban fantasy series with a kick-ass heroine published by Montlake) and DRAGON WARS (a post-apocalyptic series with dragons)as well as the Cupcake Goddess novelettes.
I found this book on Amazon when I was looking for Christmas mysteries. It was OK, but I almost stopped reading because of grammatical errors and a typo. The sentence fragments were almost too much for me. I can't enjoy a book when it feels like I'm grading a student paper.
Read this for my mystery book club. The story was weak, pointless, and had no substance. Plus didn’t even make sense. Fortunately it was a short book so didn’t waste much time on it.
Another hit & 5 stars of course! This is such a fun series I'm sure that everyone will enjoy it when you try the books. Of course reading them in order is the best way to get to know the wonderful characters from the start. They are stand alone books if you'd rather read them that way, but you'll enjoy them far better in the sequence they were written. This was a warm and Christmasy story with a bit of a mischief maker thrown into the "wassail" for a bit of spice! Soon Lady Rample has it all sorted out and Christmas day is once again a family, giving, sharing and more day for everyone. The only problem is that as delightful as the book is it was far to short!
Lady Rample’s Aunt Butty rents a cottage in the Cotswolds for an old-fashioned Christmas. The murder mystery is very thin but features minimum violence; the victim is a mouse that is killed “off-stage.” Solving the mystery of the “ghost" provides a cozy Christmas ending. Not a book for readers with a low tolerance for poor or non-existent editing.
It seems like the last two installments in this series have been a bit light. I'm hoping that soon we will get a few meatier mysteries in the future! The characters are fun and I hope to see more of them!
