The battle against the White Whale has concluded, but Subaru's fight is far from over. He knows the Witch Cultists have their eyes on Emilia, so he's brought forces-including Julius the knight, of all unlikely allies-to ambush them and crush their scheme. But when things go a little too smoothly against Subaru's nemesis, the "Archbishop of Sin" Petelgeuse, a suspicion lingers: Is there something vitally important they've failed to realize...?
One white whale taken care of, let's get on that cult now.
After everyone worked together to handle the centuries long scourge of the flying monstrosity which was the white whale now they have the cult of the witch to contend with too. Subaru continues to grow stronger (if not physically then mentally/emotionally) and I get to see some satisfying carnage for those that almost broke Subaru and hurt Rem badly in other volumes so this book made me happy indeed. However things do not always go as planned as fatalities occur and misunderstandings have to be rectified. Time to break the fingers of Sloth.
Ram is back too. Subaru & Co. have taken a big hurdle. The next opponents will be more devious. It is always a pleasure to read and the plates are really beautiful. Could Subaru be the embodiment of the sin of pride? Curiosity high
