plastic covered, superbly kept hardcover reder. This book came from the Larry Edwards Bookshop in Hollywood, California!!! Clean inside an dout. A lion of a book (get it? MGM...)
This was a good overview/introduction to early Hollywood and the most influential studios and executives of the first half of the 20th century. A little difficult in the beginning (lots of examples in each para), but then it gets more concentrated and detailed after the initial chapters.
Although it only takes the story up to 1969, this is a fascinating and wittily written account of the pioneers of Hollywood. Not a likeable bunch, but definitely interesting.
