I loved the mini references to the holiday issue, and that we got to see more of Susan and McGraw's chemistry since they're the best couple ever in love in modern media.

"I didn't think you even liked Nina." "She's a hilarious amazon studying physics and astronomy. If you don't want her, I'll go out with her."

Although I'm a bit disappointed in this issue, I love Nina and I hope Ed and her patch things up.

Welcome Back!

In my quest to cleaning up my Goodreads currently-reading shelf, I am trying to review the books and graphic novels that have been sitting on there for a long time but I have actually finished! As many people already know I am a huge Giant Days fan, I started reading the series late but fell in love fast and have never stopped reading. I know the series is coming to an end soon and this is super sad for me, however, I have been slowly buying all the volumes and will be rereading them often. Since this is so far into the series, like usual I will keep my summary as spoiler-free as I can because I do not want anyone who is new to this series to be spoiled.

SPOILERS AHEAD

In this issue, we get to see a little more of Susan and McGraw's relationship (which I have my fingers and toes crossed will end happily because they are perfect for each other) but we also get to see more of Ed and his newish relationship with Nina. They are both done with their casts and their therapy, they are freshly back from their trip to Nina's home (which I think there is a spin-off issue for, I am looking into this) and now things are returning to normal for them. But can the relationship survive normal Nina and Ed? Nina has gone back to her old friends and her partying ways but will this be too much for Ed? This was definitely an interesting dynamic to see, I have always wanted Ed to be in a relationship (I think Ed and Esther could be cute together but I am open to other characters as well) but I do not know if Nina is the right fit for him, I guess we will find out soon! I enjoyed this issue a lot and I was glad to see more of our couples, I am giving this issue five stars on Goodreads!

P.S. here is my usual announcement if you have not read Giant Days yet, what are you doing!!! Go read this series!

It's quite possible that I'm completely blinded by all sorts of comic book love and lust because it's been so long since I've gotten to read about the gang but UGH. This was what I needed today. This is my pick-me-up-series after a long, bothersome day. So naturally it was an easy 5 star read. Everything in life should be turned into a Venn Diagram. Especially love. And if mine were to be, it would look like two perfect overlapping circles. Joansie. Giant Days. Maximum harmony haha!

(Spoiler - to comment on the story, I'm glad Nina is finally taking initiative to tame her inner she-hulk. Ed doesn't need any of that!)

This issue felt more real and bleak than most, dealing with Nina's drinking problems. Still, it's a big thing in college, having friends/significant others who drink too much, so it's important to cover it, just a little bleak...

Another Ed focused issue! The relationship ups-and-downs between him and Nina felt a bit sudden, as I can’t quite recall if Nina’s drinking problems were mentioned previously. But it does feel like all the characters were treated with respect and Esther and Ed’s continuing friendship is lovely.

Bit of an odd cliffhanger at the end. Are we going to either have a noir Susan issue or Daisy having a driving panic attack? Let’s see....

Another great issue from Giant Days. I missed the special that came out last week (I know, I’m so sad), so I’m not entirely sure if I missed something or not there. I didn’t have any issues (no pun intended) with following everything here though, so I think I’m okay.
This was an Ed heavy issue, with Susan and Esther getting decent appearances as well. Daisy got a cameo as well, but it was pretty minor in comparison (I think she was in one page’s worth of panels?). Still, Ed’s character could use some extra time, since his tends to get the most neglected, but he’s got the whole romantic subplot going on now.
I was surprised by how intense the whole Ed/Nine plot got. Not in a romantic sense, that is. They took the time to show us an issue that happens to real life couples…and it was actually pretty cool. I mean, I’m not happy that they’re having this issue (more specifically, that Nina is having trouble and Ed is trying so hard to support her), but it’s nice that they’re throwing that realism in.

Another really great issue! These books are just always so entertaining and lovely and they make me smile, even when dealing with bigger problems (like the one Nina exhibits throughout the pages of this one). I love how sweet and supportive Ed is and it's always fun seeing him get more page time. My favorite parts, however, are usually always the bits that have Susan and McGraw. I love everything about them and I really enjoyed getting to see their thoughts on Ed and Nina.

And now the wait for the next issue begins...at least it's only three weeks this time!

Another great issue!
I've missed this group and it's so nice to see the girls still coming into their own and Ed!
Oh my dear Ed...he's such a cinnamon roll and having most of this issue focused on his relationship was a great change as I got see Susan and McGraw be "that" couple 😂

I really like how the team is adding certain realism into the storyline and a new relationship definitely has it's own tribulations so I can't wait to find the next issue.

Pobre Ed... É evidente que ele está em um relacionamento tóxico. Espero que ele vai enxergar isso logo.
