Lots of up to date information and if like me you read the kindle version lots of electronic further link reading. A holistic insight into resetting your your habits and hormone levels. I wanted to read this as it’s been on my radar for a while. I have some inflammation in my hip area and wanted to see what Petronella suggested. I haven’t followed her rules and I don’t know if I will. But it makes interesting reading.

I followed this diet almost perfectly for the full 12 weeks. Let me be honest and tell you that it was extremely difficult. Luckily I had a very good friend do it with me and I am certain that got me through to the end. The diet did everything it promised. My reflux went away almost immediately and my sleep improved tremendously. My aches, pains and headaches also disappeared. It has been almost 5 months since I first began HBD and I am now 30lbs lighter. I still follow many of Petronella’s guidelines. Starting my day with 16oz of water before coffee or eating is a game changer, so is waiting 5 full hours in between eating. No more snacking. The first 14 days of the diet were extremely difficult. Lots of restrictions and weighing of food. But I did lose 15 pounds and started to feel better almost right away. The 12 weeks after that teach you how to eat and reintroduces foods. You get a weekly treat meal which really gets you through. I also started to love the square or two of dark chocolate I could have with a meal. I learned that my body does not like cow products or wheat. This truly is an amazing diet which can change your life if you follow it. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to feel better.
First off, I will say that it is not the easiest diet to follow because of the limitations and the weighing of food. Aside from that, the diet is amazing for how you will feel and how will start loving everything you eat. I developed an appreciation for the food I was eating, food that normally I would not have chosen to eat. I lost weight very fast the first 16 days. I had an amazing 14-pound weight loss. Then I went on vacation and got out of the groove. Going to restart this because I want to get rid of the inflammation that causes me to feel bad and achy again. I also suffer from gastric reflux that totally went away with this diet. I never took anything the whole two weeks I was on the diet for it, and I normally have it bad.
This book presented a good plan and lifestyle shift that has been very beneficial for me. I have lost weight and feel better both physically and mentally.
Not great. Some poor references, some anecdotal stuff. Even some parts where she says ‘I’m sure that’ and comes a lot from an opinion. Not something I would follow. Stupid comments about not wearing spf.
