Mail Order Bride #8

A Measure of Grace

Rate this book
Romance and revenge, hot tempers, and cold feet frame a gripping story set in rural Elkton, Idaho, in the 1860s. Young Jordan Shaw angers easily and lives wildly, experiencing prison and kidnapping before his family attempts to tame him with marriage. To avoid their choice, he seeks a mail order bride, pretty Diana Morrow, who suffers the abuse of a violent father before escaping her tumultuous family home. When Diana arrives in Elkton and finds Jordan suddenly missing, will a handsome distraction change her destiny? How three young people's paths entwine -- and how God meets each deep need with sufficient grace -- make this riveting story both vastly entertaining and faith-inspiring.

writing is not especially enthralling but the historical perspective was interesting...won't go back to read any others in the series though

This was a hell, fire and damnation book. I picked it because it was safe to read without pornography because it was a Christian book but I didn't like the story of everyone going to hell unless they were saved. I believe in a more positive approach to eternity. Fortunately, I have found other authors who can write without trash and talk of God in a positive way.
I usually read informative literature but at times need something light to relax. This definitely is not relaxing. I will not return to this author again.
