In a desperate bid to escape the fate that her pack has planned for her, Lori makes a run for freedom the night of her 18th birthday. But she has no idea just how high the cost of her freedom will be... Lori finds herself lost and alone until she comes upon a town that is seemingly perfect on the outside, but the pleasant exterior hides darkness within. Grayson, Corey, Wyatt, and Kannon are banished from their home after a violent takeover from a rival pack. They find sanctuary in a small town far from any other wolves and never expected a lone female to wander into their territory. *This is the first book in a slow burn reverse harem series. Everyone has dark moments in their life that we sometimes wish we could erase or forget. But sometimes it's the pain and struggle that we have gone through that gave us our inner strength.
For me, writing started as a way to confront some of the demons of my past so that I could put them behind me forever. Most of my characters have a dark or troubled past and my books follow their progress as they emerge from the darkness that has held them down for so long.
As the darkness fades, hope for a better future starts to emerge (like the sun after a storm). A piece of my soul goes into each one of my books, and my hope and faith in a brighter tomorrow is reflected in each one of my characters.
Books have always been a source of escape and enjoyment for me, so I hope that my work can help others in the same way:-)

It was a cute little reverse harem.. and since I liked it's adorableness.. I might dive into the next one. Key word: might.
New Beginnings was a cute and short-ish book. Not really but it was adorable. In it, the MC is a runaway. She went from a psychotic and abusive pack to being a lone wolf. She ends up at a strange town that she was kind of drawn to and starts to make it a place for herself. Unfortunately for her, there is a little bro wolf pack there as well. Things don't start off great for them because they kind of kidnap her and shit.. but it ends up turning out to be a great little thing for all of them.
Now I guess this book had some little romance.. but it was mostly hints. Here and there kind of little hints that did absolutely nothing for me. Again, it was adorable. I didn't really care for their little romantic feelings because everyone is kind of young at this point. I am, however, curious to see where things will head in the next book.
Other than that, this whole town is just weird - but interesting.
Sweet but a little too much of an young adultish feel. I liked her other series with Anna - this follows similar tropes of an abusive pack, but at least she had a supportive parent. I do think she downplays what she went through and it's slightly unrealistic with her actions, but the guys are sweet and the build-up with the strange school and Llamia testing is downright odd. Will probably check out the sequel later.
If you're curious on steam, there isn't any -trust me. You get a lot of food, ice cream, a few small wolfy runs but nothing introspective with the shifter side other than the pack bond that's not described much, wolves who desperately want to be part of a pack again, weird townspeople in a small and ignorant town.
This was such a fun shifter book. It wasn't very long, but it set up the world, the characters and the plot up perfectly.
We start off with Lori on her 18th birthday. Normally that would be a happy thing but not for Lori. You see, in her pack women are nothing but cattle. There for breeding and nothing else and now that she's an adult she will be free game for any make in the pack. She wants more for herself and more than that so does her mother who has an escape plan.
Unfortunately all goes NOT go well and Lori ends up on the run on her own until she stumbles into a small town where she settles and starts to feel safe....until she is confronted with 4 strange, young, male wolves who want to know what she's doing there.
The guys are all different and yes I admit a bit cliche. We have 'the leader' Grayson, 'the smart one' Wyatt, 'the rebel' Corey and 'the sweet one' Kannon. Despite the cliches flying around I enjoyed getting to know all of them.
Plotwise I'm interested to see what happens next so definitely a serie I'm putting on my list to explore further. Not going to spoil anything else, this is a book worth picking up.
This started to be good from 30% onwards... I did not like the summaries of some scenes like the one were they *spoiler alert*.... bonded. It was like ?! Why was such an eventful and probably emotional scene just cut???
So yeah it is good but I feel like the author was kind of... lazy? And did not feel like writing a complete book just the idea of it.
I will however continue this series because even if it's not so good it is also not so bad.
This was just okay, a stronger beginning than the Sea Side Wolf Pack, but not great. Lori is a wolf shifter who is turning 18 the day we meet her. She belongs to one of the packs that treats women as property. Things happen. She ends up alone and on the run. Lori decides to settle in a small town where she meets four other wolves.
So why was this just ok? To begin with, I felt like it didn't make sense for any of them to be in a small town. Being in a larger city would make much more sense for hiding out and avoiding packs. Packs need land. Cities don't have land. Packs won't have large cities as territory. Next, it.doesn't make sense that none of them go Austin or.at least call the Seaside pack up for advice. From Lori's perspective, her mom obviously had a plan and wouldnt have them escape one abusive pack to run right to another. It was stupid of her to ignore her mom's planning even if she didn't know anything about Austin. From the guy's perspective, they obviously know about Austin, know he runs his pack differently, know about the counsel and Austin's role. They should have at least reached out. Master still could have had them end up on their own for the time being under the guise that they couldn't get a hold of Austin or Austin promised to get pack to them but was dealing with some stuff with his late right now. The guys could have decided not to push this as an emergency thinking it was a long shot anyways and found the school as a stop gap or alternative until Austin and Seaside enter the picture in whatever future book that happens in. I also felt like Lori trusted the guys way too quickly considering her background and they all dropped the ball on figuring out her story before anyone in the town saw them. If they werent going to come up with a cohesive story then why did we have to sit through the conversation about why that was important? And what is the guys' cover story beyond we are starting a garage? Why are there a group of really young guys with a minor with enough money to live to a random small town as and start a new business? And the whole we plan to share conversation happened Waaaaaay too soon.
It's an interesting story and a good spin off or world building for Seaside, i just think it is a little rough.
3 stars. I liked that the book wasn't too long but I don't really like books where every single time the hapless female is left alone, she finds herself in danger. In the space of a few short chapters, the FMC Lori escapes an abusive pack to find a temporary job at an ice cream shop where her new boss tries to assault her, and then she goes to sign an agreement with the Hollow Crest University lab, where she gets attacked by her old pack's new master. Lori isn't totally helpless -- she decides she doesn't want to be seen or treated as a victim, so she stands up for herself and she fights back... but it just seems like a lot of darkness is treated too casually and occurs too often for such a short book, and the tone of the book doesn't consistently match that darkness. The 4 MMCs are cute and sweet but the characters are a bit 2-dimensional. I think in the next two books, Lori and the guys will solidify their relationship, but in this book, there is zero spice... Which is good, considering Lori is mourning the death of her mother, and she's shaking off an attempted SA, etc... It's just not really the comforting lighthearted read as I was expecting it to be, even tho the author definitely tries to make it seem that way some of the time... I would've preferred that she stuck with those themes more consistently, since it's such a short read, and she might as well lean into the whole idealistic view of things.. does that make sense? Anyway, those are just my personal thoughts on it. To each their own. Cheers!

So I must say being a new book of CC's i really liked it. Is it original- Nope. I liked her other wolf RH book, but after book 4 i didn't care for that series any longer.
So i gave this one a try. I liked the main girl-even though she went through so much she was a strong character, and the guys were all likeable and i liked how they cared for her.
It was alright, I usually prefer longer books, since they usually (just like this one) doesn't give me the ride the I wish for when I read a book. The characters relationships felt rushed. It was unfortunate, but understandable since the book was so short. But still, a bit unrealistic development of relationships. The relationships themselves were cute and easy, not exactly my taste but it wasn't overwhelming so it worked.
I will read the second book and hope that it'll be easier to read.
If you want a book that's an easy read, with easy relationships and a more heavy surrounding story this book might be worth a shot.
DNF - Finished 100% of book one. Didn't start book 2.
It wasn't bad... It was just kind of boring. I had been going back to this book over the course of a week and finally finished it but I'm not gonna continue the series unfortunately. There wasn't really much of a cliffhanger, I mean there was plenty that still could happen, but nothing that I was like.. I need to keep reading! Which was kind of the vibe all the way through. Maybe this is part of another universe or something because a lot of it felt like I should know what was going on and didn't. Mostly with the Lamia? I think they were called. There was a lot to unpack there but the luggage was lost. You feel me?
This was slow and short, also there isn't much of a romance, but more of a building of a bond and the begging of awoken desire. The book is completely clean (unfortunately), but we can see that she will eventually mate all 4 guys. She runs away from an abusive pack that threats female as toys, slaves or breeding stock. She deals with her grief and adapting to her new surroundings. She meets the men and they build a bond slowly. I got a it a bit too slow for my liking, so had the audio book at 3x speed. The narration was excellent. Love Troy Duran 's voice hand interpretation of characters.
I really enjoyed this book, it was well written and kept my attention throughout . The MC is a great mix of strong and vulnerable , making her relatable to the reader , and keeping us engaged in her story . The guys are awesome ! You see their flaws not just the things about them the MC needs in her life . Making them realistic , and interesting as individuals as well as a group . Can’t wait for book 2 :)
Lori lives in a wolfpack where the females are passed around indiscriminately when the turn 18. Lori's mom helps her escape but Lori is now on her own. In a small out of the way town she meets four males without a pack and who are seemingly different from the ones in her pack.
This was ok, not great. I didn't get particularly attached to any of the characters. I don't think I will go on to the second book.
This started off really good but then it seemed to be rushed thru as it got to the end. I enjoyed the story line but I feel that more could’ve been explained or gone into detail. Maybe it will go into more detail in the next book...at least I hope so. All in all, I would recommend you to read this story and decide for yourself because I did enjoy it.
Loved this book. C.C. Masters brings to life a wonderful story. There are so many unanswered questions but there is much to love about this story regardless. Love the story line and the characters.
I really enjoy this author. I loved the Seaside Pack story line and this looks like it’ll be another good book. I wonder if Austin’s pack will feature eventually, guess we’ll see. I hope the rest of the books come out quickly!
Mc was easy to connect to and root for. The guys each had their own voice and a feeling of past history. The story moved along at a nice pace. I will definitely read book 2.
Love how CC Masters delivered another awesome story which will no doubt eventually tie in with the seaside pack! Love the new characters and their slow burn fun beginning
Dnf around 20% or so because it was all telling instead of showing and the MC just conveniently knowing the personality traits of the guys she had just met without needing to get to know them. I could just tell that I wasn't going to be able to engage with this.
Good world building, the characters were interesting and had some character development. Curious to know more about the witches and if the deal is as innocent as it seems or if there will be fallout later.
I actually really enjoyed this book. It's hard to find a good shifter book. I like how the author didn't just gloss over her drama and then make an insta love situation. Can't Wait to see what happens next
I enjoyed this. Love C C Masters Seaside Pack series and this new one that is part of that world did not disappoint. Love Lori the guys. Can’t wait to read more.
