John French is a writer and freelance game designer from Nottingham, England. His novels include the Ahriman series from Black Library, and The Lord of Nightmares trilogy for Fantasy Flight. The rest of his work can be seen scattered through a number of other books, including the New York Times bestselling anthology Age of Darkness. The Spirit of Cogs by John French - a disgraced magos tells a former sister of battle about that time he went looking for a titan.

At the Sign of the Brazen Claw part 3 by Guy Haley - this time it's Prince Maesa's turn to share a tale with the guests waiting for the next airship. How specifically did he meet the spite Shattercap?

City of Blood by Matt Smith - Jesca Veil was hiding out in Scavtown, but she's been spotted. Time to escape... but she's not the only one being hunted.

Dismember the Titans by Graeme Lyon - Blood Bowl isn't the point in this story, instead it's the backdrop to a murder mystery!

The Unlamented Archpustulant of Clan Morbidius - An election is being held, and Rattagan Borkris, Malfeasant Superior of the Church of Gnawing Ruin, only has 9 out of 21 votes. He only needs 2 more votes to secure victory!

In the Mists of Chaos by Rik Hoskin - With no assistance whatsoever from Sigmar's Stormcast Eternals, the town's militia must defend themselves from Chaos... the odds are not good.

The Book of Transformations by Matt Keefe - after treating a horrifically injured man, the town's apothecary is visited by a like-minded soul, eager to discuss his research on the art of transformative healing.

The Weight of Silver by Steven B Fischer - A platoon of Cadian survivors have a new lieutenant, too new for this band of veterans.

Bonegrinder by Josh Reynolds - Topek Greel doesn't rule, not yet. But his time is coming soon, he knows it. And the Scrap Lords want to parlay.

Empra by Nate Crowley - everyone worships The Emperor in their own way, even feral voidborn who can't remember where they came from or where they're going. This need to worship can be twisted though, luckily an angel comes to show them the way.

The Emperor's Light by Robert M Leahy - incomplete and never to be finished. RIP

Once again, not a single bad story. Amazing how Black Library can keep the quality so high. Obviously the big draws are Guy Haley's Age of Sigmar serial and Josh Reynold's Necromunda short story, but the best part of this collection is hands down The Unlamented Archpustulant of Clan Morbidius. David Guymer can do no wrong, and he's in top form here!
