This is a combined review for Books 1 through 6 in the Caveman Aliens series by Calista Skye
Someone suggested I give this series a try. It’s on Kindle Unlimited and since I had a free subscription at the time I gave it a go. It wasn’t bad. It’s a silly alien sci-fi romance that you can read in a day. Not much plot or substance to it. Sometimes you just need something silly and with no substance to read.
The books are an alien abduction survival type read. The books are all a little bit silly. They are slow moving in parts and a bit choppy.
The concept of the Jurassic planet was interesting. It’s a planet with dinosaurs, weird bugs, plants, and Caveman. Their are no women on this planet.
When the series starts we meet several different women who are all College age students working on a project when some aliens come to earth and kidnapped women only. Those aliens that kidnapped the women end up crash landing on this Jurassic plant. The women are trying their best to survive on this Jurassic planet and soon learn they aren’t alone.
The romance in each book is very quick. Each women ends up being kidnapped by a different kind of Caveman. They pretty much fall fast and the sex is hot and primal. These Caveman end up take the women back to their tribes and we soon learn that not all the men in the tribes are good. Most of the men want to capture and force the women into being breeders aka sex slaves or the Caveman want to kill them to complete this prophecy to bring back The Women.
As the series goes on we learn their is a small underline plot on how these Caveman came to be on this Jurassic planet and what their purpose is or was.
In book five we get a brief recap of what has happened so far. This is where we learn about the underlining plot and find more women are alive and have been trapped on this star shaped land island due to a Dragon like creature.
In book six we learn why and how the Caveman came to be on this plant and their weird belief system. I didn’t care for book six. This is where I became all Caveman’d out. The issue I had with, six, was how slutty Delyah became. I get the weird water makes them lower their inhibitions, but this was over the top.
One thing that really frustrated me in this series was that each women even after they found their Caveman lover they still think they can get home. After 10 months wouldn’t it come to your mind that you aren’t getting home. Even if you do find another spaceship… How are you going to fly it?
As far as things go. The Caveman Aliens series was just ok.
Finally, all the lab coat girls are happily married, not is the Dragon girls turn (hopefully). I can say much because this book has a lot of action and great twists, you will never see it coming!
I took me an age to finish this simple story because it was soooooooo bad 🥴

★Review★
Probably the best of the series so far.
Finally get an answer to Bune
Finally someone has the sense to say - "hey maybe not a good idea to get back to earth even if we can, as you have an alien husband and half alien baby that might not go down so well with authorities..."
Also it was tense and a bit creepy at times and probably the best writted of the series too.
A bit of a complaint with the series though - I sometimes get the feeling that it would not matter which caveman and woman end up teaming up - they would end up together. It is like they meet, caveman all gaga over a female, woman all gaga over caveman and horny and decides to have sex with caveman to either reward him!!! or as a why the hell not and then off into a relationship they go - I feel like you could put any combination of huan woman and caveman together and they would end up as a couple.
But I am carrying on with the series so make of that what you will ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
This was a fantastic addition to what I believe is a phenomenal series. It is quite different, and the action is unlike any I have encountered thus far. In this series about 14 (?) earth women were abducted and dumped on a prehistoric-type planet where even the most innocent looking bush may be deadly, and they must devise ways to survive because earth is light years away and there is no way off the planet. I was also thrilled that book 6 is about Delyah, an African American woman, who has a near photogenic memory, is a veritable genius and has been been appointed the leader of their little "tribe". Each book has nail-biting, suspenseful action, conditions and occurrences. Never a dull moment in any of the books in the series. The next book features one of the women (which have been dubbed the "dragon" girls in Book 7, which I believe is coming out in early 2019. I cannot wait!
NB: I would say that it is imperative to read the books in order to get the full picture from the beginning. Also, these books do have explicit sexual content for those who need this info.
I really like this series and have read them all. It's a little different than most of this genre and having a group of survivors makes it much better, and makes the world-building easier.
That said, read this series from the beginning, or it just won't be as good. All of the books and personalities are very different.
Meh nothing to write home about. Just filled the void while I’m in the between-a-book-series-to-obsess-over phase.
D was okay, not as badass as she was in the previous books. I was also disappointed that she hated being a leader so much. She wined too much about her “responsibilities” yet she didn’t really have any. Like she would occasionally offer up her knowledge on a subject but she didn’t really make any large decisions or lead the group in any way. Yet when the time came to reap some benefits that came with being a chief while visiting the other tribe, shes all for it.
I also didn’t like how she kinda set feminism back a bit. Like she’s constantly talking about how the men in the tribe she finds should do all the heavy lifting in the huge “fight” against Bune but never once says the women will contribute anything. Look I’m a feminists as much as the next lady, but that wasn’t feminism.
And don’t even get me started on how she sexually harassed B’sometin.
B’somethin was pretty cool (as to be expected from all the cavemen on the planet). He was collected and smart despite being a “caveman”. I also liked the small mystery about him throughout the story when the lights would leave his eyes.
My only complaint about B’somethin was that he kept bringing up the whole “I’m terrible why won’t you believe me” thing for no reason at all. He never actually does anything negative as himself. So constantly saying that about himself -even to just mess with D- got supper freaking annoying really fast.
The plot with Bune was hella creepy and I loved it. I wish there was more focus on that other than having the main couple bang bang bang and fall in love out of thin hair (how many times do I have to repeat that SEX DOES NOT EQUAL CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND RELATIONSHIP BUILDING!) Anyway, the entities they find is hella creepy and gave me the goosebumps. *shudders* Totally worth it....but I do have two problems with it.
First is that it was hella short.
Second is that it wasn’t executed as smoothly as I think the author believed it was. What I mean by this is that the big secret of Bune is revealed as if all the puzzle pieces that were given to us are finally falling into place....only we weren’t given some of those pieces for long enough. Like we’re give little hints at the begging from the author but they’re kinda half ass thrown at us and then all of a sudden it’s *poof* secret reveal. And I feel cheated out of a epic moment.
My favorite part is H’spoiler. I’d say more but...spoiler.
Overall I’d say that CS’s writing has definitely improved; the first book was absolute hot garbage but her skills are getting better and the story is flowing smoother. Though this book was far from great, and not quite good, it’s a solid okay.
Delyah may have been an army brat but that doesn't mean she wants the responsibility of being the leader of the their little, but always expanding, tribe! But the girls looks to her for answers and she won't let them down. When Bune starts a light show which rivals Las Vegas, she goes off to see what she can find out. Whilst there she meets the giant that is Brax'ton. He is like no Caveman she has met so far. His stripes are black, his vocabulary I way above the norm and he has a very, very acute intellect. Not that the others in her tribe are thick, they just have different talents.
Brax’tan is keeping some major secrets from Delyah when they meet but some are so secret, they are even being kept from himself! He loves Delyah's curves and the rest of her equally. She would make an excellent partner and lead of the tribe but first he needs to deal with the bizarre calling he feels towards Bune!
Brax and Delyah's story was not straight-forward and there were lots of twisty bits. I even managed to work out some of them before they were revealed (Go Me!!) The banter is brilliant and they can be so deadpan when trying to downplay the tug they feel towards each other. I can't wait to see what else is going to happen to this happy little tribe!
I love this series as well as the “Fire Planet” series by this author. I love the ridiculous adventures of these smart but ditzy college girls as they stumble and bumble their way to love and HEA’s. I thought by the end of the six girls that I would have my answers and the end of the series, just as the other series ended as that core group of girls married off.
However, the author introduced more characters that I’m not invested in and I feel the story is now over, except for the hypothetical enemy that may one day appear. I have all the answers I need with the end of this book. You could probably stop with this book and not read the next three books with the new girls. I’m not sure if I will continue. I think that is a flaw in the authors writing. She didn’t really write this story to continue indefinitely.
Otherwise, I enjoyed the series so far. I was highly motivated to keeping buying each installment to see how everything and everyone turned out. I was rooting for the six girls to find their feet and their happiness in this harsh new world. And while I felt the author sometimes made the girls too immature and other times too intuitive it still made me smile with every book.
Of the original six girls that crash landed on xren, Delyah’s book was my most anticipated. The elected chief of the earth girls was someone I wanted to know more about and I knew that ‘caveman’ she fell for would have to be someone special. Brax’tan was fantastic, funny and witty and secretive without even knowing! I adored their interactions and their verbal banter was both funny and engaging and really really enjoyable to read. I am blown away by the revelations in this book and was ecstatic that we finally got some answers to the mystery that is ‘Bune’.
Initially I thought that this was going to be the last in the series but with the arrival of the ‘dragon girls’ and the revelations in this book I’m so glad and happy to see it is going to continue.
This series has evolved and grown so much from when I first started it and I have to say it is one of my favourites. The author has taken the sci-fi romance trope of abduction and created something that is new, original and totally fresh. I’m looking forward to seeing the direction this series will go.
>Book review – Caveman Alien’s Secret >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 6th in the Caveman Aliens series and ends in an HEA. Delyah is the unofficial leader of the women that were kidnapped and dropped on this threatening planet. She goes off to investigate a buried space ship to see if it is fly worthy. On her journey she meets an alien caveman, Brax’tan. Brax’tan is the leader of his tribe, one who is finally a good, strong leader that everyone respects. >One of the main secrets in this series is why are the tribes there? Who is in control? These questions and more are all answered in this final book in the series. This couple didn’t seem as romantic, as Delyah tended to throw herself at Brax’ton, while Brax’ton was never surprised when he learned something earth shattering about his old beliefs. >This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this story 4 stars. I wish the previous couples could have had some sexy scenes in this book to showcase how tight the new tribe is now.
Possible Triggers - Violence, sexism, alien shenanigans, kidnapping, death, blood, gore, murder, sexual situations, and more.
•••
Tl;Dr - Being the only not pregnant person means Delyah investigates the strangeness of Bune alone. There she meets the smartest caveman of all, Brax’tan, with whom she investigates the mountain/ship. Hes kinda… weird though at times…
•••
The Characters - Delyah: The leader… but hates leading? I guess?
Brax’ton: Oh Brax’tan, you would have loved Excel.
•••
My Thoughts - And this is where I part ways with this series. I’m so happy I read the books for the OG gals and that I’ve seen the conclusion of their story. Getting answers about Bune was spectacular and I genuinely enjoyed Delyah’s story.
But this series is really stale for me. The plots are near identical, Brax’tan showed the most variation of the bunch and it was still the same. I feel good about saying goodbye here.
I enjoyed reading this fascinating & entertaining caveman alien romance. The characters are quite well-developed and react with realistic emotional feelings to the situations they find themselves in. The story-line and plot is well-thought out and written with suspenseful unexpected incidents, it keeps the reader’s attention This book is about: a group of young women are trapped on a strange planet but one young woman (Delyah) decides to take a alien caveman (Brax’tan) captive but she does not realize that he has devious plans in store for her. There is: alien cavemen, human females, dinosaurs, a crashed spaceship, caves, alien intelligence, robots, intrigue, twists & turns, fear, defiance, doubts, betrayal, conflict, threats, verbal banter, happiness, contentment, love & some steamy scenes. I look forward to future books from this author with great anticipation and would recommend this caveman alien romance to people who like to read this genre.
I've read the whole current series and overall it's entertaining and fun, with good likeable characters and creative settings. I feel like this last book suffered a little in terms of pacing and plot. Delyah and Brax'tan getting together so quickly felt kind of contrived and clichéd. In the beginning she is introduced with social problems leaning toward autism almost, so it seems pretty strange to have her suddenly be chatty and flirty. Also, I feel like she should have been a virgin; it would have been more understandable in her situation and it bothered me that none of the other girls were. It felt like an untrue statistic that none of them were virgin. At least 25% of all college students are virgins. Other than that it is a well put-together series. Though I have to say that I like her Fire Planet Warrior series better. The plot/world building was a little more in depth there.
Incredible storytelling - a must-read! You would think that, for as long as the girls have been on Xren, there would be few surprises left for them to encounter. Not so! We are shown new wonders, new (to our girls) scourges to beware. It’s fascinating watching Delyah peruse situations, settings and come up with brilliant reasoning for what is happening. I think she and Brax’Tan make the best pairing yet. They are both so obviously leaders. A delicious sense of humor prevails between Delyah and Brax’Tan that gives me great pleasure. Some incredible things are happening in this story that will require many adjustment for the future. This story is not to be missed! I’m sure there will be changes in their way of life in ongoing stories in the series. I’m already waiting for more!
First can I say, wow, this novel is a whopper. It’s rare to have something this universe shaking in book 6 in a series that at first I thought would be just a fluffy read. The author set up enough foreboding throughout the earlier installments that when Delyah and Brax’tan were inside Bune I was really creeped out and wanted them to get the eff out of there. This series is not to be underestimated as “just” (ps I think that would be a put down to the genre) a rom-scifi series. There is character development, excellent world building, and not only that, each character feels different. Way to go, Calista Sky!
Wow! We finally get a lot is answered questions that had been raised through the series from the moment the girls where dumped in this inhospitable planet with Jurassic animals and hot cavemen. Delyah and Brax'tan takes on a journey packed with action, adventure and danger around every corner and this time the whole tribe is in real danger. Will Delayah and Braxton be able to prevent a war and rescued her tribe mates before is to late? Great plot! With a fantastic wirld build. Highly recommended
I would have given this a better rating however the spelling and grammar mistakes were too many to ignore and something a simple check should have picked up, but at the very least would have been picked up if there was proof reading. It got so bad I sometimes had to read a sentence more than once to understand the meaning which takes you "out" of the story.
This was a pretty fun and cute series. The character and world building were really great! I sadly am not finishing the series due to I have no want to read about the nonmain girls even though I wish to know what happens with everything. I lost interest in the main girls in the very first book and when they returned it just didn't spark my interest again. But the series overall is a 4-star rating and the individual books are all 3 for me.
Caveman Alien’s Secret Book 6 By Calista Skye Kindle unlimited purchase Delyah is the elected leader of the little tribe. She spends a lot of time studying the old wall paintings in the cave, trying to figure out what Bune is. Brax’tan has heard the rumors of a tribe of women but he never thought he would come upon one. Everything is answered. So, what will the rest of the books be about? Sold to the Beast Mated to the Beast Broken Out by the Beast Claimed by the Beast Rescued by the Beast Kidnapped by the Beast Tamed by the Beast Secret Baby of the Beast Rocked by the Beast Protected by the Beast
I've the first five books in this series and they were all terrific. But this one really blows it out of the water. I'm really new to Calista Skye as an author. But this won't be my last book. The only issue I might have is the way it's written it feels like it's a finale but I know there are other books to the series. I can't wait to continue on and see how the tribe grows.
I love this wonderful, fun, sexy, steamy series. This is the sixth book in the series and it is just as amazing as the other books. No two books in this series are alike other than, they have great world building, great storylines and amazing characters. From beginning until the end, I couldn't put this book down. I would definitely recommend this book and this series.
Good all the girls have their mates..the ones that matter..This book has a lot of action...twist and turns...but good ones..😉I loved all the girls and their cavemen....dragons was a added bonus..excellent series...not sure about book 7...don't remember the other girls..well I will wait and see...😐
Loved it! The book was just as great as all the previous ones and only gets better as the series goes on. A love story with enough action, drama, suspense, mystery, family love, passion, and steamy hot sexy scenes that leaves you saying ahh with awesome characters. Highly recommend and so ready to read the next book in the series.
