The first 4 books in the Tavonesi series, with #4 being the weakest in my opinion. All of them have star baseball players as the main protagonists, either with a rich or advantaged background, or having achieved wealth through playing, and as female counterparts women with similar backgrounds regarding wealth, and interesting professions on top of that. A bit far-fetched, difficult to relate, one might think, but their characters and the good storytelling make up for this. The last one was too much of "poor little rich girl" for me, and I would have been interested in the town inhabitants' reaction to her after her announcement (hope that's not too much of a spoiler, trying to be cautious here.) All in all, hours of reading enjoyment and worth getting.
I really liked the storyline and the way that the individual stories connect. But the was so much extra, over-the-top description that added absolutely nothing to the plot or helped move the story forward. I don't like to skim because I don't want to miss anything but I really should have for this series. Maybe others like repeated, internal re-hashing of past issues or potential future issues but these just ruined the read for me.
There were four books in the bundle. I thought they were all well written. Each a stand alone but the characters intertwined. Perfect amount of information so you understood the connections between previous characters. A little too much detailed sex but easily skipped over. I really enjoyed them.
They're a bit more sexually oriented than I like (they tend to feel driven more by lust than character) but that's me. Otherwise not much to complain about. Genre expectations fulfilled. I read for a happy ending.
This was a great story & well written.Cara Ryan caught you interest & held to the last page,It was warm & lovingstory abouthow peoplewuth money & how they are some times treated.Being a baseball players heiress complicated it. Great book.
I really enjoyed reading the first 4 books and can’t wait to read more Once you start you want to keep reading to see what happens Loved them all Thanks for writing them
This series is one that I have truly enjoyed the whole way through. Ms. Aares is gifted in my eyes. I really have felt like I know her characters and the scenery they moved through. The romance is written with warmth and decency. Thank you! 💜
I loved all the characters in this series. I liked the style of writing and that there was an actual story playing out and it wasn’t all about sex. One thing that did bother me was the fact some pages didn’t show on my kindle so had to keep swapping to my iPad
I loved the books in this series. Beautifully well composed stories. Lots of research on baseball, I’m starting to love the game. Tha happily ever after is a bonus.
I enjoyed the glimpses of the thoughts, practices, and strategies of the players and management, with regards to baseball. Very cool. The emotions and reactions to 'events' seemed pretty realistic and relatable.
I enjoyed this series of exciting love stories. When the heart wants what the heart wants the big, strong, handsome guys who happen to be star major league baseball players step up to the plate. After all life is more than just baseball.
An English aristocratic Doctor, who has had heartbreak from an elite athlete previously, encounters a mesmerizing man, that causes her body to react, even before her heart and brain can register. Unfortunately, he is a pro baseball playe, amongst other things. Can the sort their own mistrust issues out, and make whatever chemistry they have work?
Book 2 Thrown for Love After meeting at a Gala dinner, two people's lives become entangled in love and a life of baseball. Unfortunately, a pitcher and an owner of a baseball team, especially the one that pitcher is under contract to are deemed not to have a relationship, as far as social protocols go. The two fight a lot more, as others try to undermine the clubs foundations. It is as much a romantic story as one of drama and intrigue. A good read.
Book 3 Fielders Choice Another delightful baseball romance, with a serious side of decisions on a life with a step child, and the relinquishing of carefree life, for one of commitments and duty. Yes a truly delightful read.
Book 4 Love on the Line
Cara: A recluse heiress, had opted out of high society, and taken up residence in a small coastal town. Using her mother's maiden name, she tried for three years to fit in. She seemed to be achieved acceptance, then fate took a hand. Ryan: Having brought a farm, with his dad in mind, he wanted to set the place up as a Donkey refuge. He never saw the attraction to the local school bus driver coming, until he was bowled over heels. This story shows how difficult life can be, even for those with billionaire status.
I read the first 2 out of 4 and stopped there. They are each pretty quick reads and are cutely hallmarky love stories. But for me they just didn't have enough content or character development to be compelled enough to read the rest. I loved the baseball details but felt at times felt the descriptions and non essential plot stuff took up more time than the good stuff ... I did some skimming. Those parts would have been great if there was a bit more meat to the story. The stories kind of intermix but the timeline seemed off a bit with the first two. Overall just ok
Would I recommend: no Would I read more by this author: yes
All four of the books in this box set are amazing to read. They all have their ups and downs along with secrets that seem to lead in the wrong direction. It's reading about each different one and how they managed to work things out.
Loved these four books. Looking for more to read from Aares. Reading series books back to back is one of my favorite kinds of reading. Loved all four of these stories and how they intertwined.
