“What if you found out someone had lied to you about something important? Could you forgive them?...have you ever been so desperate for something, you’d have done anything to have it close to you?” After years of corresponding with a journalist, socialite Nick travels to her rural hometown in Washington for Otatop: “It’s potato spelled backward. It’s our biggest crop, don’t ya know…You actually have a potato princess? Here she comes!” Pretty. “Somehow that single word changed everything.”

Nick “came to find a wise, independent, honest older woman who would help me set my life back in order. And what do I find…A beautiful young woman who could have my heart with the snap of her fingers.” It wasn’t just her eyes; “it was what he saw in her eyes that made her so extraordinarily attractive. Caring, compassion, humor. All the things he’d searched for in his own life and so rarely found…She was a woman who stood up to the world and did as she pleased…She was…a woman who lived on the edge and made her own rules, and lived the truth.”

Although wealthy, Nick is a loner whose “experiences in talking with women consisted largely of bedroom banter and dance floor flirting.” Until he meets Juli under “A huge, red-gold harvest moon hung suspended in the charcoal-hued sky, its color muted by a nearly transparent pewter-gray cloud…My grandad calls that a Liar’s Moon.”

Unbeknownst to Juli, “Nick himself cared nothing whatsoever about any metal–including gold.” In attempt to maintain Nick’s good opinion, Juli keeps up the princess pretense. “The lies were an invisible wall between her and Nick, every deception a brick that kept them apart…burying her in the rubble of her own deceit…He slowly opened his eyes. And saw the frame she’d given him. It was still flawlessly beautiful. But…Empty. Without a painting to lend it color and vitality, it was a lifeless, useless piece of carved wood. Like Nick and Juli in his life.” Check out Kristin Hannah’s “Liar’s Moon” in Harvest Hearts to discover the ending to this charming Cinderella novella!

“The secret, she withheld from Mildred and Gladys surge to the forefront of her mind, bringing with it a bittersweet smile. She loved Nick; she had from the very first moment she’s seen him, and every letter over the last few years, solidified her feelings until they were as strong and secure as a rock. As much a part of her as breathing.”

This is of romance book with four novellas in it. I read it because Kristin Hannah wrote the first one. The four titles are:

Liars Moon By Kristen Hannah
Far Beyond Pearls By Rebecca Paisley
Autumn’s Song By Jo Anne Cassity
Cotton Pickin’ Cowboy By Sharon Harlow

these were enjoyable, cute romances, all set in the season of fall. The authorizes a little bit of a blurb at the beginning of each story describing some of their favorite fall moments or memories.

The only story in this book that I read was the Kristin Hannah one, Liar's Moon but I really enjoyed it. It's been so long since I've read it that I can't really remember the details but it was nicely written and an enjoyable read. I'm sure that the other stories in this book are good as well, but I primarily bought this book because of the Kristin Hannah story.

I loved every one of the stories. Especially liked “Far Beyond Pearls” by Rebecca Paisley. I was surprised that I liked it more than “Liar’s Moon” by Kristin Hannah because she is my favorite author.

I read them all when I first bought the book. The one story I come back to is “Far Beyond Pearls” by Rebecca Paisley. I love a good found family story.
