There were a lot of characters that I did not know in this volume. It was a huge, climatic battle that was full of fun action and a new Zord. The stuff with Tommy and Kimberly was great and easily my favorite part of this story arc for me. It just hit really well. I am very curious to see how things proceed after this.

No solo se unieron todos los rangers para acabar con Drakkon, si no que al parecer se van a unir un personaje icónico de Power Rangers.

Me encantó el momento en que Andros ver a su hermana Caron (Astronema) pero ya cuando es una power ranger. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

What a wild ride this book has taken us on. This volume ends the multiverse epic that introduced me to many members of PR beyond the OG cast that I had not met before and ended up caring about a little more than I’d like to admit. This volume had some dope moments and was maybe a little tougher to read on an emotional level given recent news of JDF’s unfortunate passing. The themes of togetherness, friendship, and hope over power and desolation ring strong throughout this one.

Shattered Grid is basically Kyle Higgins' magnum opus on Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, the story he's been building to since the series began and it definitely shows. All of the plot threads, all of the focus he's placed on Tommy, everything he's put in place with the characters comes to an explosive head.

The scale of this story is something unto a (good) Marvel event, pulling in Rangers from across the history of the franchise as Lord Drakkon's plan comes to fruition in a multiversal adventure that keeps the focus firmly on the Mighty Morphin' squad at its heart. With more than a few twists and turns, and one gut-punch of a cliffhanger for the first issue of the series, Shattered Grid is a rollercoaster ride right from the off, and it leaves an indelible mark on the history of the Power Rangers even as the conclusion of the story springboards a whole new direction for the book in Beyond The Grid.

On art we have Daniele Di Nicolo, who steps in as series artist after Hendry Prasetya's departure. Di Nicolo isn't as individual an artist, but she handles the intense fight scenes and massive crowd shots without missing a beat, and most of all she got all these issues out on time (or with only a week or so's delay), which is a godsend when it comes to event comics, so I'm not complaining at all.

Shattered Grid is everything you'd want it to be and more - take note, future Power Rangers writers, this is how you do a Rangers event.

I think this volume is for the fans of the TV show beyond just the originals, cause I had no clue who half the characters were here.

The Power Rangers are going against Drakkon and this time it's the final showdown. However, just as the heroes think they might have a chance Drakkon goes all out and becomes basically an unstoppable force. The only thing that will stop them is the inner demons of this vicious villain. At same time we have about every power ranger and ranger hero, crossover and all that in one.

I didn't really like this volume much. Some cool moments, cool fights, but confusing and the ending was like 'Uhhh what?" Yeah. Not a fan of this volume. Easily weakest for me. Excited to move pass this event though.

Wow, um, I’m a little out of breath after that one, I’ll tell ya.
That was . . . wow. I just. Where to begin?
The art.
My. word. The art. I just haven’t seen a comic like this before. And trust me, I’ve read many. The way color was used was just insane. The pale pinks, and the yellows, and the greens, and oh my the blues! The color was used in this gorgeous, visceral way that just doesn’t show up in mainstream comics. During the fight scenes and the explosions and even in the heavier emotional scenes, the characters were drenched in color and mood lighting that set this comic in a class of its own.
And don’t even get me started about the incredible two-page spread when the reinforcements and survivors are all coming in like shooting stars of yellow, pink, and green. It was so hopeful.
Really, that gets to the heart of what makes this comic, and this series, so good. MMPR is filled with hope. Even after numerous character deaths, very intense moments, and all the loss that these characters suffer, they still stand up and fight for justice, mercy, and peace. The story maintains this hopeful tone throughout the depths of despair, and it never once gives in to the misery that so many stories are saturated with. Power Rangers as a franchise is so uplifting, and I think that’s the reason it’s endured all this time. The characters are genuinely good, kind, and gentle people. And they are never disrespected for their soft hearts. In fact, the only characters who are hard-hearted, individualistic, and unforgiving are the villains. And it is shown time and time again that pushing others away is something that makes one weak, not strong.
To that end, I cannot stop thinking about the way Lord Drakkon’s arc was resolved. For me, it’s the fact that when he was given a chance to remake the universe to be how he wanted it, he subconsciously made it one in which he was loved. It was a superficial love, but that’s the only thing he could understand. Adoration and idol worship were the only way he could see himself being loved. It’s tragic, but ultimately, Drakkon is the only one to blame for his present suffering. He is the one who pushed away love. He is the one who rejected his destiny. He is the one constantly grappling against his own self image.
But Tommy. My. Word. I cannot get enough of this guy. Drakkon literally attacked and stabbed Tommy in cold blood, yet when given the chance to get revenge, Tommy chose to invite Drakkon to live a better life. He invited the horrible, murderous, spiteful, cruel villain of the story to come home and make things right. It was so obvious that Tommy was not angry at Drakkon. Not even a little! He called him out and then called him higher. And ultimately, Drakkon refused the olive branch and turned his back to Tommy’s outstretched hand.
And Tommy was genuinely saddened by that.
He's just so kind, guys, help
Yeah, I’ll admit, some of the timeline details lost me, and I am not a fan of the whole “to restore the timeline we must forget that any of this happened” deal, but the writers gave us a Kim and Tommy kiss out of it, so I’ll allow it.
Needless to say, I am very ready for the next installment.
10/10 “Well, I guess on the bright side, we’re not saving the world this time.” “We’re not?” “No, we’re saving all of them.”

It's SHATTERED GRID FINALE time! I read these books as they come out in trade paperbacks, so I was somewhat familiar with what was going to go down thanks to social media. But, there were still so many wonderful surprises! The biggest smiles on my face were brought from how many times the HyperForce rangers show up in this book. I enjoyed that series so much and am still hoping for Season 2 so seeing those characters alongside classic rangers was excellent! The Beast Morphers are also in this book, but they make more of just a cameo appearance.

One of the great things about this Shattered Grid arc was how many different rangers from different eras make appearances and are integral to the story. They aren't just cameos. Jen Scott and Lauren Shiba are two that really shine in this volume. I absolutely love the interactions between Jason and Lauren. They co-lead the teams wonderfully. Some other characters that I really enjoyed were Andros, Coinless Skull, and Commander Cruger.

There are so many beautiful panels in this book. I had seen some revealed online before, but there were even more that I just sat and took the time to check out every detail within. The final issue in this volume really surprised me.

The ending was perfect. Kyle Higgins did an excellent job with the over thirty issues that have gone into this story. These are characters that I first met when I was 5 years old. Now, I'm 30. Higgins brought everything that I crave in storytelling to this story. A Multiverse. Good vs Evil. Friendship prevailing.

There's another short story at the end of this volume, continuing Blue Centurion and Ninjor's adventures. It's a cool team-up, but pales in comparison to the rest of the issue. But it's supposed to be just a fun story anyway. There's also a preview of Vol.9 Beyond the Grid included as well.

I obviously give this a 5/5. It's excellent storytelling. It's the culmination of over thirty issues. I'm so thankful that Boom! Studios made this happen. I obviously am looking forward to what happens Beyond the Grid!

I read that some fans disliked the ending, particularly the final battle . I can't help but feel like those voices, as well as the ones calling the climax a Deus Ex Machina, are missing the point entirely.

Drakkon showed us, across almost eight collected graphic novels, that the Rangers weren't going to overpower him and call it a day. In addition, from a meta perspective, the Shattered Grid arc has featured beloved, fleshed-out characters from the later franchise, mixed with the original, almost-blank-slate six kids from the start of the series. Having a more emotional climax, and giving these once-boring, now-developed-after-eight-graphic-novels heroes an ethical and philosophical way to win, brought the entire comics run full circle.

This volume is definitely the 'Power Rangers: Endgame' to volume 7's 'Power Rangers: Infinity War' vibe, even eerily hitting a few of the same story beats. It's fun re-reading and catching the similar way Higgins leaves loose ends for the next writers to pick up. As with the MCU, you finish this grand finale and come back because hell, at this point, you're invested in this world.

This is one of those events in comics that is so all encompassing in its scale that it’s difficult to see how it can come to an end in a reasonable time, with an ending that makes sense, and in a way that allows the overarching story to continue. That very often means short cuts being taken and cheap story mechanics being used, and both definitely did happen here, but it worked. Despite the chaos of the storyline I didn’t feel lost, and whilst the ending felt reasonably quick, I do think it maintained its credibility and it was satisfying. I say that, of course, as a Power Rangers fan, so I appreciate I am be giving it more leeway that someone might if they’re not a fan. But I’m ok with it. On the whole, this was the first five star story arc for me in this series, and I’m excited to see where the story goes from here.

The first half of this is a definite 5-stars from me, but after that not so much. The ending to this huge arc feels a bit deflating (quasi-cliffhanger ending heading into a new series, Drakkon just walks away at the end, everyone seems to be resurrected but without memories of these events?) after some solid action and sacrifice in the first two issues. The scale felt like the end of the MCU Thanos arc! I’m also so perplexed by the inclusion of the Ninjor and Blue Sentry issue at the end…I barely remember what that story is doing but also it felt tonally disruptive to this piece as an ending to a really big narrative buildup over many, many issues.

I've really enjoyed this series, it's been a lot of fun without feeling like toxic nostalgia. This whole Shattered Grid storyline left me cold though, which is a shame since it's also Kyle Higgins' last volume. I just have zero attachment to any Power Ranger series after the first show, so the whole big multiversal team-up did nothing for me. Also, I know for most people, the whole Tommy/Kimberly thing is endgame, but it never did anything for me as a kid or an adult. I prefered this series when it was focusing on all the Rangers equally and not just everyone's FAVE4EVA.

But I'm also a year away from 40, so maybe I should quit harping on this.

The previous volume nearly lost me with its heavy focus on setup and later-season fanservice, but I have to admit this event came together nicely in the end. Drakkon feels like he's channeling Superboy Prime here, and I’m still wondering why anyone thought Finster-5 was a good idea.

The volume wraps up with a preview of the next event, Beyond the Grid, and honestly, I’m not exactly thrilled to dive into more multiverse shenanigans right now. Here’s hoping for a return to form in future volumes, because I could really use a palate cleanser.

Drakkon makes for an excellent arch-villain, and watching his plot unfold is both satisfying and terrifying. Had the potential to spill over into cheesy territory, never did. Didn't love the final chapters, but loved the overall arc concept.

And here we are at the payoff of the fantastic event, Shattered Grid. I LOVE IT! We finally get to the end where Lord Drakkon has essentially conquered all of existence and the only ones who can truly stop him are the Power Rangers. They've fought a losing battle this entire time but are finally able to come through and have a chance at taking out the mastermind. Finished this quickly and on to the next one!

The culmination of shattered grid, what this series has been leading to since it's beginning, was perfect. It's very hard to pull off a major story event like this but Kyle Higgins did it great! I'm becoming a huge fan of his work.

I would give the entire series up until this point a solid 4 or even 5 stars. But this finale really missed me with it. Too convoluted for my tastes. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t well written or drawn. Just too messy for me

The Power Rangers comics just slap. I stopped watching the Power Rangers regularly a long time ago so I'm as surprised as anyone that the comics reached out to me. Comics or even animated is probably the ideal medium for Power Rangers as there is just more that can be done with the franchise.

I gobbled it quickly. I enjoyed it. But it's a common trend lately to do time travel stories, and I'm maxed out. It's almost cliche. With that said, I still loved it. Can't wait for the next one.

Kyle Higgins surprisingly solid run on Power Rangers comes to its climax with a Crisis On Infinite Earths style crossover that, while epic, is as equally confusing as the DC event that inspired it.

This volume felt a bit disjointed as the story reached its climax. Drakkon grows more powerful with each power morpher he absorbs into his own morpher. With each new power set, he grows more paranoid and unstable.

The team is seemingly defeated and transported to Drakkon’s ideal world where our Tommy is helping to undermine the spell of Drakkon’s efforts. The rangers ultimately succeed, but they each must sacrifice friends, potential relationships, and steps they’ve made to bring back the world to how it was before Drakkon’s spell.

Like Part 1, Shattered Grid Part 2 was a pretty satisfying conclusion. It brought all the Rangers in an Avengers Endgame style finale and it pretty much paid off with the cameos. Though with the Blue Senterion story it was a bit weird. But overall, Shattered Grid was an excellent crossover with all past Rangers throughout history.
