She never could have expected what was waiting for her in the sealed Mayan tomb.
Archaeologist Sera Cooper just made the find of her life...a sealed sarcophagus in a previously unexplored Mayan pyramid. She expected an archaeological treasure. What she found instead was a sexy ancient alien with an equally sexy partner. It's hard enough to deal with her career being upended - now she has to cope with government agents, an impending alien invasion, and two scorching hot aliens who both want to claim her as their own.
Beno and Theyn are refugees from the world of Ylia, running from the ravages of the Taluan Empire. They tell her that they share everything... and they want that to include Sera!
This is the end of everything she's ever known, but could it be the beginning of something better?
Amelia Wilson has dedicated her life to writing. She is a firm believer in the power of love to conquer all, and her works reflect this belief. Her paranormal romances are known for their love stories, action and suspense. She creates immersive worlds that are rich in detail and full of emotion. Writing has always been very close to her heart. When she is writing a novel, she travels into that world and attaches her emotions to the story. She expresses herself better in written words than she could ever do verbally. She believes in love, and that love can conquer all, which is the reason why she is a writer of romance. She wants all the people, who have been hurt in love, not lose hope as fate changes and soon enough you all will find your one true love. Her books are a great way to satisfy your craving for paranormal romance with action, love and suspense.
Due to the editing and flow, the story is a 3 star for me. The characters (Sera, Beno & Theyn) are likable & the story has great potential, I've not read anything similar to this before. The world building was pretty good, though it filters thru as your reading the story, not all at once. However the flow was very choppy. Some places felt like either several paragraphs or a page was missing from the book, & some places skipped/jumped around. I think this book could use some more details in the story to different things that were going on, or to what happened in places (it left me with a lot of questions & disbelief), maybe it could have gone thru some beta readers & more editing to fix these issues.
The cover does not match the descriptions of either of the aliens, it's never mentioned that they have any tattoos/markings, only some sort of scales that glitter/glow & some scarring on Beno's back.
An example of the editing issues for the word "brunette" used to describe Beno's hair- spelled multiple ways through the whole book. Also, in the beginning, Beno is described as a brunette with solid green eyes, where Theyn is described as blonde with solid blue eyes. I'm picturing an alien with dark brown hair & maybe an olive/Mediterranean type complexion, until the last 2 chapters where they are talking about hoping the baby has Beno's dark brown skin & Theyn's blue eyes. Wait, what?! Why was that not mentioned until towards the end so I can picture Beno in my head correctly? Little details like this affected my rating this book better.
This was a deeply engrossing and fascinating story. Usually if I’m looking for something with aliens it will be sweeping space opera – along the lines of Star Wars – or else high comedy a la Independence Day or Men in Black. And while this book has some elements of those, it’s also quite different. It has the romance, and this is going to sound awful but that wasn’t the part that held me captive. There’s also a rich political thriller in here with hints of dystopia. I opened this book wanting to be entertained. I wasn’t expecting to be hooked. I’m so very glad that the next book in the series is available now and I don’t have to wait for it.
This book is absolutely amazing! From archeological digs in Mexico to space and back again, it was non-stop action!!! You never knew what to expect!
Dr. Sera Cooper led an archeology dig at a Mayan pyramid site in Mexico, with Asa and Joely assisting her. To their great surprise, they found a sarcophagus containing an alien. Sera was removed from the site by the military and Mexican government, but felt compelled to check on the alien that she felt responsible for. She sneaked into the room where he was being kept, but a man told her to step away. He touched the alien’s heart and the man awoke! Sera went along with them as they escaped from the hospital. From there, they were on the run together.
The reader is pulled immediately into this exciting story. The characters are brought to life and show us exactly what their qualities and abilities are. The two alien men, Theyn and Beno, have been paired from childhood, which is explained fully in the book. Theyn also happens to be a full-blooded Ylian prince, the last of the pure royal line because he and Beno were off-planet when it was attacked and destroyed by the vicious Taluan Empire. They landed in a probe on Earth, where each prepared for a long sleep. The details of this experience are described so well that the reader would feel like an active participant. So many things happen during this story, both good and bad – definitely affecting your emotions. The story line is beautiful and scary and full of hope.
I can’t say enough good things about this book. I loved every single page I read and felt profoundly affected by this story. I intend to stay with this series and hope the authors continue to write it for many years to come! It was so good and so well written!!! This book easily shot up to my Number One favorite science fiction book. Wow, what a crazy, wonderful journey!
I liked Amelia Wilson's new book, Awakening. It's an exotic version of the menage a trois - with a pair of bonded alien males and a human who turns out to be not as human as she thought. There's an interesting pregnancy complication, plus a case of spontaneous telepathic linkage and several bizarre light-induced healings, on top of a mysterious viral disease that is sterilizing the alien males - ohh, and they're experimenting on the aliens - enough medical drama to make Shonda Rimes jealous. And political/military drama? Try an alien diaspora which includes several colonies with some very non-traditional ways of life, and apparently they don't get along. There's the US and Mexican governments in cahoots, the UIS and Mexican military, which may not be on the same side as their governments, and some fugly SpecOps types who seem to have their own agenda, all topped off with Earth-invading cannibal lizard aliens. So, lotsa 'pew, pew' with the stun guns, and thrilling fight/flight sequences. And don't even get me started on unique and smoking' hot alien sexual practices - MERCY!! This book isn't just a thrill ride, it's a whole bleeping amusement park!
I absolutely loved reading this series. Book one tells how Sera who is an archaeologist and is digging a tomb where she and her team find an sarcophagus with a living being inside, but on closer inspection they discover he is an alien being.
The last of the full blooded royal family and his bond mate find a human who they mate with after she brings them out of stasis before their time, but they develop feelings for her. Eventually they discover that she is pregnant with their child.
They are captured by their own people and taken to a city which is hidden from the citizens from earth. The royal prince and his bond mate are captured by soldiers and they are taken to a facility where they are subjected to experiments which Sera is allowed to be free and watched over by the CIA while her pregnancy progresses. They eventually rescue her bond mates and they settle into their new lives until their daughter is kidnapped and taken to another planet where the remainder of their people live.
There is lots of action, intrigue and romance, but they win the fight and they go forward to live happily ever after.
I voluntarily read and I am giving my honest review of this book.
So I really liked the book. Beno is awesome. He is my favorite because he is about it. He will do whatever it takes to protect and Theyn and Sera. All the guys are great though. Asa is dope because here is this Southern Texas boy with his good ole boy charm willing to protect his friends. Even willing to protect the aliens he just met. Theyn is cool. But he is probably my least favorite out of the guys. Nothings necessarily wrong with him he’s just too soft in moments, I feel, when he needs to be hard. Like when he taps into the Phoenix. But overall I liked Theyn because he was always the calm to Beni’s rage. And the voice of reason. They are perfect opposites.
My only issue is how the book ends. I did not like that needing. It’s like a cliffhanger but not since it just seems to stop. I’m kind of mad about it. But overall with respect to the whole book it was awesome to read.
I really enjoyed this book. I bought it initially because of the ménage aspect and expected the alien aspect to be delightfully cringeworthy, but I actually really liked the sci-fi aspects of this book more than the romance part. I loved the world building and the alien culture and technology. There were twists that I didn't expect and that kept me interested. The romance part seems like somewhat forced addition as is and maybe would be a little better fit if it was given more space in the storyline, and the editing is a little rough. But, overall, I felt like it was great and I hope the authors keep working together. What happens next? I need to know!
Even though I am not a huge fan of ménage stories, I enjoyed this book a lot. This is an action packed, full throttle adventure - full of sensual romance and intriguing suspense. Sera, Theyn and Beno are fantastic characters, each intriguing and likeable in their own way. Their chemistry is off the charts. The story is a unique rush of adrenaline - full of twists and turns that keep the reader guessing, along with streamy romance that will have you swooning. The plot is intricate and complex and the fast pace is breathtaking. An exciting and entertaining read!
This was a unique and exciting read that mixed romance and action in a sci-fi alien romance with a great plot. Sera is an archaeologist who discovers an ancient alien inside a Mayan pyramid. When the pod is accidentally opened, the events that follow take her on an amazing journey. Theyn and Beno just barely escaped the destruction of their planet by enemy aliens and crashed on Earth. When they entered their hibernation pods they believed they were the only survivors of their race. When Sera awakens them, they must first escape government agents out to capture them, only to discover their enemy is still around. But at least they discover they aren't the only survivors of their race. But things aren't as they remember them. All three of them must work together with the help of friends and even enemies if they are to survive the future. One of my favorite things about this book was the unique attributes of the aliens. I look forward to reading the next book.
this was a great book. the characters were very intriguing and so was the world. Ben and Theyn reminded me of another alien species from another series I read by evangeline anderson called the kindred.. just in the way they merge during sex.. it was a great balance between adventure and sexy times. it did seem at times like they couldn't catch a break but it just made u want to read more to see if they finally do. I would definitely recommend this one.
The back story is just as interesting as the current romance. I would have given 4 stars but I just couldn't get past some of the unbelievable in real life parts - being tortured and then going back to work for same people that tortured you, the whole archaeological dig timeline during the book, aliens sending ships to Texas undetected. If that had been tightened up and made a little more realistic, the book would have flowed really well.
meh - not as terrible as other books I rate as 2 stars ... but I wouldn't re-read it, so I won't give it 3 stars. There were notable typos, but I usually ignore those. I just didn't feel engaged in the story or interested in the characters' plight. Maybe too much was introduced too quickly? Or feelings and circumstances weren't fleshed-out enough? Not sure what the issue was, but I'm just not interested enough to continue this series.
I can honestly say this is they first book I've read like this, with the way the males mate, lol. But it is really good, I will quit reading a book if I can't get into it and this one drew me in from the first page. This is about the only reason I like kindle unlimited ( besides the digital book collection) I can read books before I buy the and I do buy them I used to buy books and they would be different than the dec
This is a surprisingly nice book featuring two hunky aliens and the woman they come to love. If you like alien love stories combined with action and adventure, complete with a happy ending, then this is something you would enjoy reading. Even though this is the first book, it did not end abruptly or leave you hanging. I liked that this book was a nice escape for a lazy afternoon of reading.
I’ve recently began an Interest in Alien romance stories And reading this was by far a great choice I’ve made. First off I love happy endings. Second this book had me at the edge of my seat with all that was happening. I really felt like I was in there right along with all of the characters and action. I honestly read this non stop until it finished. This author did amazing and a 5 star Review from me. Highly recommend this book to anyone!
Phenomenal storytelling!!!! A wonderful story of love and hardships between two alien men and their mate. When they try to help save earth the government uses their willingness to their own advantage and hurts the ones who have done nothing wrong but tried to save everyone.
I loved this book! It was fast paced and steamy. The end seemed a bit rushed, but still really great! No cliffhangers in this book, however, I can't wait to read the next installment of it. I got this book as compilation: Alien Romance Standalone collection. All three books in the set is by Amelia Wilson. A really great start to reading an author I've not read before.
Wow! I purchased this book as part of a box set and really loved it. The plot was so exciting that I didn’t want to put it down. I really objected to having to go to work and not finish it first thing this morning. The characters are so life like, that you can relate to them immediately. I am looking forward to reading more of this series.
I really enjoyed your book so much. The story of Sera, Beno and Theyn was sassy, funny, heartwarming , don't touch what's mine, and don't hurt the ones I love. In one word Awesome ! I can't wait to read more of your books . Thanks so much Colleen
The author is really creative, talented, and brings the characters to life. It's packed with adventure, action, drama, villains, love, and steamy hot scenes that are not over the top with awesome characters? A very good buy and so ready to read the next book in the series.
Sera didn’t believe in love, but when she found Theyn, she eventually changed her mind. Nothing is as easy as it should be though, as she found out. She was kidnapped, chased and shot at. And this was in the first few chapters. Believe me, this is not a book you want to miss. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.
A different kind of alien romance, with paired males, and multiple militaries at their heels.
A son of the Empress and his companion fled the destruction of their home planet to end on Earth in suspended animation for hundreds of years. Found during an anthropological dig, the Prince is awakened and all hell breaks loose.
There was so much unexplained or left out in this story and it finished so abruptly. I had so many questions that must remain unanswered. The characters were 2 dimensional , never questioning, just accepting. It was a basic attempt at what could have led to a good story in the right author's hands.
that i had a chance to read this story, holy cow! i genuinely believe you, amelia wilson are an excellent author. there are many grammatical errors that your beta readers should have caught, but the story and the characters were divine. so, so, so good.
This story was great, I enjoed the world building and characters. I look forward to the expansion in the next books of the series. I loved Sera, Theyn and Beno. And am thrilled with the birth of little Kira.
From the Sleep in the Past, to Awake into the Future
Great story of mystery, action and to run for your life. To find a lost friend of the Past and make new ones in the future. To making a family and start a new life.
An archeologist digging in Mayan ruins discovers a sarcophagus which has an old body in it that looks alive. They find modern features that is unique to this Mayan excavation. They eventually open the sarcophagus and find a live body. A body that is alien.
I read a preview of this and was hooked so I found the whole book and read it and I was not let down. This is not just an alien love story it's not adventure a kidnapping and hostage story. I will be reading more books by this aurthor.
An interesting take on Aliens. I enjoyed the story and the way they "mate". The book had editing issues, but otherwise it was another book I really didn't want to put down. The story just pulled me right in.
