Shay goes to a museum and consults with the AET. Then, she doesn't come home on time.

Brownstone goes on a rampage when he learns what happens.

Using his contacts, Brownstone gets Tyler involved when he learns that Lt. Hall is in trouble.

The criminals are powerful, and clever.

It seems the hit on the Los Angeles Museum was planned far in advance.

Well, planned or not, if you come into Brownstone's area and kidnap his woman, you have a problem.

And that is just Shay. That doesn't include when James gets involved.

The Professor is concerned that the heist is bigger than anyone realizes. Now he is hoping Brownstone and the missing Shay can help him recover the artifacts.

And how thoroughly Shay mystifies Brownstone as she tries to uncover what makes him tick.

NOTE: This book contains cursing. Perhaps humorous cursing, but cursing nonetheless. If this offends you, I don't suggest reading this book.

After Alison returns to school the focus of this story falls on Shay when she is kidnapped by a group of museum thieves. There is lots of action when Brownstone gets involved and a new set of ‘super’ villains to contend with.
I’m not sure about ‘The Council’, but I expect them to reappear in the next book.

Alison has returned to school so the book focuses on Shay.
This book was packed with action and a lot of violence.
One thing we learn about James, threaten his family and you die gruesomly.
Maria wasn't as bad in this book and even Trey wasn't as obnoxious.
The humor felt forced however.

Seriously awesome humour

I truly love how humour is so intertwined through all of the books. The growth of the characters and their relationships with each other is fascinating. I love seeing how Brownstone has been forced to move out of his KISS comfort zone and do complicated. This is an excellent series, and Michael doesn't disappoint in this one either. Awesome!

Fantastic addition to a great series! Lots of thrills and action. Not a lot of development but that was ok, absolutely great!

Another great adventure

Love how this urban family is growing and kicking a**. At times I wish James’, Shay’s, and Allison’s stories were all in one volume, it would make each book longer and help with incongruent time lines with the three series but probably lessen the $ for the authors

This book was wonderful.

It really focused on just how protective James Brownstone really is, with the women that he loves.

When the Summer holidays end, Alison reluctantly goes back to school, but is also looking forwards to being with her friends, once again.

This leaves both James, and Shay, missing her dreadfully.

But, when a local Museum starts advertising a new exhibition, with Oriceran Magical Items as it's main event, Shay decides to go there, to take her mind off missing Alison, and also to see if there was something there to inspire another of her Lectures.

At the same time, Lieutenant Marie Hall, of the AET, also decided to visit, as neither the AET, nor even the local police, had been asked to help beef up security for such a rich exhibition, of both magic, and precious items, and this made her very suspicious.

When the women meet up in the museum, they are both immediately determined to find out why so little had been done, to protect the Museum, so they go off together, planning to go back after eating, to catalogue all the problems that were glaringly obvious to them both.

But, just as they turn up again, the place is invaded, and both women are downed with a sleep spell.

This is the start of both James, and Marie's sometime boyfriend, the owner of the Black Sun Bar, Tray's, determination in getting both women back safely.

James is determined to show every single one of the heist gang, that they should NEVER have touched Shay, or endangered her life!

As usual, with James Brownstone, this involves a LOT of explosions, and fiery death, for a lot of men! Lol

This book took me back to the pre-Shay James, to a certain extent, which I thoroughly enjoyed, but it also brought out a much fiercer man, where protecting his loved ones is concerned.

It also showed just how much more that his alien armour had been learning, absorbing, and adapting, in order to make James a more lethal killing machine.

It's really fascinating to think just how far it will go.

But, with this book ended - and I laughed at the splendid ending it had - then I looked at my reading list, to see what book is next, in my Oriceran journey.

It turns out I need to go back to Alison's School of Necessary Magic, with book five: 'Wicked is Her Smile', being the next one to read.

So, once I've done so, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know just what I think, about Alison's new adventures!

Another great book and I was pleased to find that by the time I finished it the authors had another in this series waiting for me. They actually have three concurrent book series' which means I could almost live with what they are collectively writing because they are writing these things just a tad slower than I can read them. As always the mix of action and romance are where I like it, I'm not a huge romance fan but a little breaks up the action nicely. The lead character Brownstone is a Bugs Bunny in that much of the story is him wrecking havoc on his opponents who are total assholes. Given the world we live in is far more nuanced I find this clear distinction between good and bad refreshing as is the unrealistic the good guys always win part. That's the way I'd like the world to be realizing it isn't but not caring because I get enough of the nuance shit in real life. One interesting thing is that in the notes after the book he talks about killing Brownstone's dog in the first book, which is a John Wick like element in that it founds Brownstone's anger and showcases he is a living nightmare to anyone that hurts something he cares about (his adopted daughter, girl friend, truck, or dog). He is a very simple man. But the question asked is whether he should get a new dog. I'd say yes and I'd vote for a Schipperke that arrives in a basket on his front door with a collar and an amulet similar to Brownstone's as a gift from an unknown benefactor. Schipperke's are highly protective just like Brownstone but the amulets could then have conversations, the dog wouldn't again be at risk and represent what could become another complex character, and the mystery of who provided the dog another story line, you could also make the dog a were who turned into a beautiful witch who loves Brownstone creating some additional drama but I think that would be overreach (on the were thing a wolf might be more appropriate but I think, given he drives an old truck, that a smaller but kick ass dog would make more sense). Anyway loved the book.

kindle unlimited, deleted most of the blurb, due to spoilers and misleading/wrong info given. This was better than the last couple, should have been, gave last one a 2 and one before a 3, skipped last Shay one to go ahead and read Brownstone one, about to get back to the Shay one

Shay goes to a museum and consults with the AET. Then, she doesn't come home on time. Brownstone goes on a rampage when he learns what happens. Using his contacts, Brownstone gets Tyler involved when he learns that Lt. Hall is in trouble.

4 Ride The Crazy Sisterhood Into Hell Stars

One Bad Decision is the tenth book in The Unbelievable Mr. Brownstone series by Michael Anderle.

Some major insight in this book. Especially in regards to the amulet. We definitely got to witness more powers and abilities it offers. That James was able to lock Shay in place with the power of the artifact. That it has consistently responded to, and had conversations with James. Then there's the empowered anger aspect of two of his battles within this book, and the conversation they had about the amulet converted his telekinesis skill into more defense.

I am concerned about this Council that was mentioned. It appears to be Oriceran in origin, perhaps? They would have to be to have any input in the artifacts making it to the museum. I wonder if the Head of Security at the museum was an inside man for this heist, he seemed far too fishy. While they may have taken down all of the Earth antagonists, they were nowhere near the head of the operation. Given that the main, and most concerning artifacts made it into the bad guys possession, it's obvious we can expect them to have deeper and more orchestrated plots in motion. Hopefully, Brownstone and Shay will have help from many avenues, given the AET's involvement recovering the stolen items, and Correk and the Professor's concern over their intended use.

I wonder what Shay was up to, and what else she was hiding about her return to school for her second year?

I enjoyed Maria and Shay's paling around, especially in concert with Tyler finally becoming a more integrated part of the team. While Peyton and Heather definitely had some fun competing against each other in regards to their hacking skills. The group and their abilities, and coverage is growing steadily.

One Bad Decision - a review by Rosemary Kenny

The bad decision is, as we soon learn, that made by the Museum thieves caught in the act by Shay, (MC James Brownstone's fiancee), when they kidnap and threaten her, in the amazing Michael Anderle's 10th book in The Unbelievable Mr Brownstone series. BIG mistake - as JB's the ultimate fighting, unforgiving (of wrongdoers) Terminator meets Wyatt Earp killing machine (though with a marshmallow centre for his woman and his adopted daughter Allison and his dog).
The Professor is JB's associate and tells him the stolen amulets are magic-enhanced and the thieves/kidnappers used spells to escape capture,by police, while overpowering and capturing Shay.
What happens next will bring very different outcomes for the guilty and the innocent and you'll be glued to the edge of your seat with excitement at the thrilling action scenes and paranormal events. You'll also laugh out loud at the hilarity of the BBQ competition between Shay, Logan and JB at the end of the book. Get yours today!

Must read!! You wount want to miss out!

Another great book for this author!! Action packed with amazing characters you will fall in love with!! Bounty hunter, Ex-killer turned Archeologist, information brokers, and Magical artifact and wispy doom chain(I love this chain. It's so funny) you don't want to miss out on this read. It's light, fun and a pallet cleanser for more action packet reading!! Ok. Spoiler alert!!! Don't read further if you don't want to ruin a potential surprise...
Ok, author here is my suggestion for a dog for Mr. B ---> GERMAN SHEPHERD. Mr. B need a dog that can handle himself and be a partner if he needs one and protect the family! German Shepard and extremely smart, loyal, tough and are family oriented dogs. He needs a GERMAN SHEPHERD!! Lol. Just saying..

Those that cross James Brownstone come to realize that he isn’t just a bounty hunter. When push comes to shove he will defend what is important to him. Overall though, the book is a little over-the-top even for a Brownstone novel. Sometimes I think the author makes the characters a little too powerful.

Well written and fast paced, it was a delight to read. More over the characters continue to show emotion and growth, though not very much in this one. This particular novel is more about showing the protective nature of James and the brutality he is willing to dish out.

Overall, a really good fast paced, action oriented read. Could it have been better, yes. Was it worth reading though, also yes.

Whispy doom

I am loving the byplay between James and whispy doom. It's freaking hilarious. A lot violent as well, but I guess that goes with the territory. Enjoyed this book where Shay gets kidnapped and The bad guy guys just can never seem to learn to leave his family alone. A lot of unlikely people come together more firmly in this to beat the bad guys. And then bad guys have a whole lot of artifacts to fight back. On to the next. Worried about whispy doom, but also loving it.

Yes

Of course James should get a new dog but not some NORMAL breed a breed that is unique or at least rare like it's about aliens and magic so what about a hellhound that can have impenetrable skin but Alison finds it at school takes it home and James finds it when he was making sure everything was okay and Alison tells him and then it hatched and she leaves it because it won't be allowed at school because there's already a Dragon there.!!!😳😳😳😳😳

Awesome

Brownstone once again kicks major bad guy butt!!
I enjoyed the interaction of Whispy Doom & Brownstone.
Laughed out loud several times over their snipets of conversation.

Brownstone needs a Wolf. He too manly for a dog now. How about a dragon? He should have a dragon. Or griffin.

How about a contest to name a new creature he finds. Something ferocious and killer.

As the author notes state, not.much growth of.character, but action bloody action

Yes, a number of angles were played in this story, including moving the cop and information broker story along, Shay and James getting their relationship further refined, and the amulet moving further forward into prominence. More Oriceran crap coming to the fore, with Correk and the mysterious 6.
Looking forward to the next book in whatever series he's playing with.

An unclassic museum caper - read it to believe it!

Back to the basics of Brownstone with a little extra added: ol' "Whispy Doom" is talking and sometimes surprising Brownstone, but always with the same goal - get stronger and kill their enemies. With Allison back at school and Shay at home, James thinks they will have a little time for themselves. Then chaos erupts and the fun begins! Don't miss this episode of their story!

So much magic!

Instead of the good magic was supposed to bring Earth, magic became weaponized. And it always comes down to money. Just as there is never enough money to take prope care of the poor, there is never enough money to give police officers (and firemen) the appropriate equipment to do their jobs safely. That came crashing into my head during the last good guys vs. bad guys battle. This was another excellent book from Mr. Anderle.

Bad Decision

Shay, James and Alison, oh my. What an amazing story! This book has enough badassery for anyone. Magic artefact thieves using magic potions, spells and artefacts to fend off elite police, James, and Shay. You're going to want to be there for this one. Thank you Michael for a great read.

Great Read

Fun, fun, fun till someone threatens Briwnstone's family. The perps won't like it when he is angry. I like the action, humor snarky dialogue, and romance. The three series are coming together nicely. What else can Brownstone's amulet do? I look forward to another book.

Danger..Will Robinson......Dang-zzzzzt!

Watcha doing Willis...? Da things which bother us hoomins don’t register muchly with Mr Brownstone. Except for his luv of BBQ he’s generally harmless. Until the perps vocalize their nefarious intents towards his fwrends. Especially his adopted daughter. Allison Brownstone.

Awesome series

This series unlike a lot of others keeps getting better and better. Anderle has a gift when it comes to keeping you interested in his characters in whatever series he's writing. As far as a new dog for brownstone goes sounds great should be one he has saved i think. Whatever the writer decides no fought will be a winner.

Action packed Siri’s

A great action-packed urban fantasy series. A great cast of characters. In the near future magic returns to earth and with it some criminals use magic and there are bountyhunters that go after those type of people. Follow along as James brownstone and his friends take down the bad guys. And extraordinarily entertaining and action-packed Series. Check it out

Still number one

James and Shay are still kick butt and taking names. Great series and so fun to read. Glad to see the BBQ take off so well. I am all for team Brownstone. Love the authors notes too. I’m thinking James would be good with a bull dog or German Shepard, just think lots of slobber or dog hair to help his OCD with cleaning. Lol. Happy reading.
