The ultra-practical third-year in junior high, Yusuke Yotsuya, is still stuck in this alternate universe where his next quest is to “transport cargo.” While on the journey, he and his party rescue a platoon of soldiers being attacked by monsters who join them on their way. However, the soldiers, who hail from a military power, had actually been on their own journey to publicly execute supposed heretics in their custody―including a child! As if this political dissent and religious conflict weren’t enough to contend with, Yotsuya and the gang then find themselves trapped in the dungeon of an ancient cavern. Yotsuya’s a far cry from the “ideal hero” in this world, so what secret plan will he concoct to get them out!?
This volume really reminded me of that song by Armin van Buuren: "All we ever hear from you is blah blah blah So, all we ever do is go ya ya ya And we don't even care about what they say cause it's Ya ya ya ya Blah blah blah blah" It was really a lot of chatting. And at times I just found myself tuning out, my ADHD wandering and just na na naing. It was bored, and I agreed. Also tons of gore and stuff. And weird things. There were good scenes. Like how we got a new player in the party (a girl that our MC saved in the real world). And how we got a new member to the party (who is part of the fantasy world). Loved the various classes. Loved how they tried to figure out things (though please, less chatting). Not sure if I will continue.
I like the idea that what you do in the real world can have bearing on the 'game' world. Yotsuya is definitely interesting, and I can't wait until we learn about his past, because out of all the 'player characters', he's the one who appears to have the most issues.
My review hasn’t really changed. I would probably say the same, I had some laughs and me not really liking the main character. But I do like the girls!
