I believe the saying is "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." 3 people were killed because of his restrained, delayed wit. Cream is by far the worst hitman I've ever read about. but in a way I semi understand. It did look like Kenzie was being replaced even though it wasn't like that at all.
As for Alani, I get why she refrained from telling him. she really wanted to move on from him, but the bond that grew between her and Bella kept him close and she knew a baby would only bring him even closer. (less)

Done. Period. The end! I honestly don't think I have the emotional strength to make it thru a third book! Don't get me wrong, Ethic and Alamo have a beautiful love story. But I am drained emotionally! I am feeling so bipolar right now. I want them to get past all of the hurt, but I feel like there really is no getting past everything that has happened in these two books.

I love how all of the characters have blossomed and grown into their own skin. Bella is my girl. Not quite a child, yet

Okay so this is where Ashley turns it up a few notches. This installment was filled with so much pain it was hard to listen to at times. I really wanted to shake BOTH Ethic and Alani. Alani turned into someone we hadn't met before but grief can certainly do that to you. Ethic's daughter Bella really came into her own in this one. My favorite part of this book is when Alani introduces Bella to reading. That really warmed my heart. It's these moments when I recognize how much Ashley is in her own ...more

Half way through I began to lose patience with Ethic and Alani. I love the Messiah and Morgan love story.

This book was an emotional rollercoaster. One thing I love about Ashley is her way with words. Everything is described into details. She puts so much into words you have no choice but to feel it. Reading this I felt love, anger & sorrow. Throughout the story Bella was that fresh energy that both Ethic & Alani needed. Bella didn’t realize how much of an impact she had. Such a thoughtful and caring spirit she has. Deep down I want Ethic & Alani to work out but deep down I know it will ...more

OMG...I could read 20 books in a row about Ethic. Ashley knows how to manipulate my emotions with this character. He is just amazing and I just can’t understand why he can’t just get his happy ending...damn.

Omg this book rocked me to my core. I have never read a like this before Ethic is once special type of man. I loved him in this book. I’m so Tru for what happened to him and Lenika baby. Messiah is one mean and different type of dude that doesn’t want to hurt Morgan and I believe in due time they will get their relationship together I hope they do. Morgan loves the ground Messiah walks and and he feel the same why but he’s a street dude and she is a good girl that he’s not trying to turn bad. I ...more

Ethic & Alani

I went through so many emotions reading this book. I went thru a phase of hating Alani for being so hard on Ethic! Yes she lost a child but like her Stylist said he was man enough to Admit his wrong doings! She waited to late to want to be inlove despite what happened! She also hid her pregnancy from Ethic he could have kept her safe!!! I was happy Bella found a mother figure in her though. Seem like the hole in her got filled quickly! I wish Mo & Siah would tell Ethic

Magnificent. Magnificent. Magnificent. This book spoke expressly to my heart and brought some memories flooding back that simply brought tears to my eyes and a whole lot of pain to my heart!

You owe it to yourself to read this series. I am declaring it a classic!!!

This second part sent my emotions into overload. The continued storyline was excellent. The dialogue and scenes between Messiah and Morgan were captivating as they figured out each other. Morgan having her hearing has matured her in so many ways. Aria is a good friend for her to have. But--those scenes between Ethic and Alani were out of this world. I could feel their pain as they tried to get it together. Cream needs to be gone. The accidents as well as the apologies were heartfelt. Little

Ethic 2 by Ashley Antoinette is a totally different than part one. Once again, Ashley does a good job. She’s definitely a beast and amazing writer.

Ethic needs someone to love him because him and he needs someone to understand what’s he’s going through in his lives or not be afraid to be around him. Ethic is a protective, provider and loyal man for his family. Bella is my favorite character for this book. Alani needs to see a doctor for her mental health.

I can’t wait to read part 3 of Ethics

This book for me was not as emotional as I heard it was. However, Ashley gave u Ethic in his most vulnerable state through out the book. It was a breath of fresh air to see such a complex character show sides that readers dont get to see much of from this man. Thats what I enjoyed the most of. Ashley showed us the MAN!!!

So much sadness and heartbreak my goodness! This was just exhausting.

I know the 4 stars and the way I began the review is a contradiction but my emotions are everywhere. Like dam one child wasn’t enough?? We gotta have one per book now? Uugghhh!!!

I love Ethic & Alani and I want so badly for them to get their ish together!

Messiah & Morgan are still annoying the hell out of me. In this book they seem more like background noise. Morgan’s still so insecure and now I find out that

Where do I begin? The emotions the author evoked were just unbelievable. I’m stuck in the middle of Alani and Ethic. I’m mourning with them but I can’t help but think Alani cursed herself. Ashley dropped so many gems in this one but the most important one was the power of the tongue being careful what you ask for. She put her all, her soul, and then some into this book.

When I had made it half way through this book I ask myself why Alani Harbour so much hate. I understand the death of her daughter, but she also battle with the love she now feels for Ethic. Her daughters death was truly an accident. No one regret that more than Ethic. But her brother, well that’s a horse of a different color. Keeping it real even I couldn’t say how I would react if I found out the man I had fallen in love with kill my child. However he tried to warn her. He kept telling her he ...more

This was a different type of book and emotion I felt while reading. Alani finding out the truth but still loving Ethic was something I felt in the pit of my stomach. This pain was another type of pain, this Love was a different type of love, this man(Ethic) is a different type of man and this book is just a different type of book. I say all that to say Ashley pinned something that made me feel something I never felt before while reading. This book was so full of love, pain, passion and

Ugh! The misery is daunting throughout the entire book. Man, can Ethic get a break? Can Alani get a break? I was anxious for it to get to the ending so I could just have it all tied up and get it over with already so I could stop feeling so sad and sorry for the characters, but nope. There is a part 3. Well, I'm going to have to wait a while to read it, because even though this book was good, it's too damn depressing to read another one right behind it that may be just as depressing. I just hope ...more

As I sit here and cry with Ethic and Alani I'm just at a lost for words. No matter how hard they tried to stay or to part ways it never worked out for them. Messiah and Morgan I love their love but really would like Morgan to enjoy being 18 and in college. Messiah and Ethic love their characters flaws and all. This was a beautiful story thst was hard to put down.

1. Love the feel of the book cover. so smooth.

2. I love that this book has a playlist. I've never seen that before.

3. I can see why so many reviewers were annoyed with Morgan.

4. Favorite line was "She don't gotta fuck with me a day in her life and that'll still be me."

5. Even though I like the way Ashley puts emotions and thoughts into words, I did do a lot of skipping to get back to the action which is why I left 4 stars. The redundant detailing started to make the story feel prolonged. Like

Beautifully written, if not a little dramatic (again)? The second Ethic is a study in relationships, love, family dynamics and conditions. What is an absolute extreme condition that would make you NOT be with someone you love? Whether intentionally or unintentionally could you be with someone who killed your child?
Family dynamics... Bella and Alani's relationship... They each has what the other needs a daughter needs a mom. A mom just lost her daughter. Drawn together by loss and one man.

Great Book, Ethic 2 Really Moved Me!

I cried for Alani and I cried for Ethic, this book really moved me! Although I never lost a baby before I did feel some of her destruction.....I hated what she did to Ethic, but I understood. I was hating him in the first book and I didn't want her to forgive him, but I think when she was fighting to stay away from him, I was standing there with her, but when she needed someone to go through some of the long and heavy days, I believe that she should have told
