Picked this up at the library because the artwork was bright and fun. Kiddos(8 & 11) read it first and thought it was a lot of fun. Insisted I read it. Not my fav as an adult reader but perfectly fun for the kiddos. Rating based on their enjoyment of it.
I do love the colors and movement in the comic art. Also all the extras in the back were fun.

This book is so random. It jumps around from thought to thought like a kangaroo on a pogo stick. Also, the main character, Wolfie, is so lacking in Intelligence that it's almost like the author is mocking people who have a mental incapacity. (I don't think this was the author's intent. It is NEVER said or implied in the book that Wolfie has any specific problem mentally, but there is no other reasonable explanation for his moronic actions. Of course, since nothing else in this book makes logical sense, perhaps his stupidity does not have to have a reason, either.)
Kids might like the randomness and silliness of the book, but I think even most kids will be put off by the amount of nonsense and lack of substance.

I found Wolfie Monster and the Big Bad Pizza Battle to be delightful. Wolfie is naive and sweet, and just enjoys life. He is so full of joy! Elementary children would love reading it (I’m an elementary teacher), but there’s humor there for all ages. The illustrations are very colorful and eye-catching. Children will enjoy the pages at the end with lots of fun bonus material - drawing lessons, hidden pictures, games, as well as Wolfie’s family album pictures. It’s obvious that this book is a labor of love - very detailed illustrations! Great job, Joey Ellis!

Wolfie and his brothers run the Magik Cheez Pizza Parlor which the corporation Happy Leaf wants to take over along with the rest of the town. Lord Mupant, the owner of happy leaf has a plan to take over the world by turning everyone into money spending zombies by adding Happy Leaf Juice. Wolfie discovers that Magik Cheez pizza cures the zombie plague and leads the effort to win Oak Hollow back. Slapstick humor, bright cartoon illustrations and tons of action move the story right along in this graphic novel that should appeal to elementary school aged readers.

This was super random. Three monster brothers share a pizza place that somehow they got from his vanished uncle (this is never explained) when Amazon comes into town and starts turning everyone into zombies. They will need to somehow save the day and take back their business.

The bad guy's second in command is an evil gazpacho.

There's a bunch of activities at the end, where you will also find some easter eggs. We saw Dogman and Sparks, which coincidentally we had bought a few days earlier.

Fun graphic novel with great bubbly cartoony artwork. This one is about a monster family who own an inherited pizza shop called Magik Cheez Pizza but who run it very badly. Their business is threatened when Happy Leaf comes to town. But is it all it seems? Wolfie Monster is contagiously happy and optimistic and a joy to read. Hope there’s more adventures to come!

Silly horror as Wolfie, and his brothers Jackson and Roy find themselves up against Lord Mudpant as he moves into Oak Hollow to take over their pizza parlor and from there world domination with his army of zombies.

Some junior graphic novels are universally good and enjoyable by all ages, but this wasn't one of those. Would recommend for its target age range, but not past that.
