How many of you have been waiting--like me--for the conclusion of the Everything series? Man, does Kerry Lonsdale deliver. With her signature twists and turns, nothing is a given until the last, satisfying page. I cried, I bit my nails, I lost myself in the images of wild horses galloping across rural Spain, and I became full immersed in the journey through Ian's past and present. Even better, EVERYTHING WE GIVE tied up the last threads from Aimee and James's story. I felt as I rediscovered Aimee, too. You could read this as a standalone, but I would recommend reading--or re-reading--the three books back to back. Treat yourself!

Before I get into my thoughts I want to warn you guys that if you’re planning on reading this series and haven’t yet, don’t read any further because there will definitely be things that spoil the first two books. Everything We Keep is the first book and Everything We Left Behind is the second, Everything We Give is the third and final installment and I can highly recommend this series, it is such a blend of genres that it will appeal to a variety of readers. There’s a mystery, some romance and plenty of family drama all woven together in a seamless way.

This book is Ian’s story and I couldn’t be happier that we finally get to see his point of view. Of course you hear a little from Aimee which is always a treat, I’ve adored her since the first book, but this is truly Ian’s side of the story and it’s engrossing to say the least. Getting to hear about his past, especially his early childhood was fascinating and utterly heartbreaking, and it becomes clear that the devastating things he experienced as a young boy shaped him into the man he is now. As always, Lonsdale has crafted another complex character that I can root for and I was behind Ian one hundred percent, he had so many endearing qualities, I can’t say enough about how much I love his character.

This was a bittersweet ending to an amazing series, I’m so sad to say goodbye to these characters that I’ve grown to love over the past two years. I’m really satisfied with how things wrapped up though and I feel like things ended in the best possible way. A very solid end to one of my favorite women’s fiction series from an author I adore, I absolutely love Lonsdale’s writing style, she makes reading effortless and she’s so talented.

Everything We Give in three words: Emotional, Bittersweet and Surprising.

3,5 stars rounded up.
This was the third in the Everything series and I enjoyed it just as much as I enjoyed the first two.     Three very different yet intertwined stories, all three books have been centred around Aimee, Jamie and Ian.    Book One had been primarily from Aimee's perspective and was part mystery,  part love story.     Book Two brought us up to date with Jamie although Aimee and Ian were still in the mix.  In this third installment, Ian was the focus.   He and Aimee are now married and have a four year old, cute as a button, daughter Caty.    He's a successful photographer and Aimee's in the process of expanding her coffee shop business.     Despite their successful marriage and careers, Ian realises he's struggling to deal with unresolved issues from his troubled childhood.       As a boy he adored his mother Sarah.   He felt huge amounts of responsibility for her, but life at home was far from easy.     Alternating from the past to the present we came to understand just how difficult, unsettling and sometimes dangerous it could be for a child living with a largely absent father and a mother who suffers dissociative identity disorder.     This is his journey and we see the way his past influenced his adult life, his decisions and ultimately his happiness.

Can these books be read as standalone titles?   Sure they can but I'd recommend starting at book one and immersing yourself in these characters and their journeys.   I was  quite excited to read in the Acknowledgements that Kerry Lonsdale has plenty more stories in store.      I for one will be back for more and hope we won't have to wait too long to meet up with these characters again.    Thanks to Kerry Lonsdale, Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity of reading this digital ARC.

A tough one to rate and review, Everything We Give was, quite simply, just okay. Although I will say the writing and overall story played out better than the second book in the series, Everything We Left Behind, the third book felt drawn out and stretched beyond its limits.

For me, Ian never really felt fully fleshed out and his initial role in the series, as Aimee's love interest in the first book, was more evident than I would've liked. Ian seemed to be more of a collection of end results, rather than his own person: he is this because of his mom, because of his dad, because of Reese, because of photography, because of Aimee, because of James, etc. It started to feel like he was just a tad emptier than I was being led to believe. He felt more like a laundry list of things rather than being a person first.

The story was clearer and cleaner in this book than in the second, although the character of Lacy Saunders felt just as weird, even after the reveal of who she is, as in the other two books. I did enjoy the growth shown for Ian and Aimee's relationship, and thought Lonsdale did a solid job of establishing the continuing story for their marriage.

If you look at this book, though, as part of the whole, Everything We Give feels off-topic and it lacks cohesion to feel properly part of the series. There is no overall story arc, as far as I can tell, really connecting these three books together appropriately, other than the people. But these aren't deep enough to be character studies, and the story feels flimsy. To look at this book as a stand alone novel is difficult because of all the information you get about these characters' stories in the previous two novels. I just don't think this novel, nor the series as a whole, fulfills the ideas that the author set out to accomplish.

Don't get me wrong, they're generally okay stories, and I did fairly enjoy reading all three for the most part. I just don't know that I would recommend them as a necessary investment for reading time. Maybe these make better quick beach reads for people who understand better what that term even means.

I received this book for free from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This affected neither my opinion of the book, nor the content of my review.

This is the third and final installment of The Everything series and it does not disappoint! This book tells Ian's story. There is alot to learn abour Ian and his story just makes him all the more endearing.
This book, as with all the others in this series, was written beautifully and sends you on an emotional roller coaster. I thank Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book. Highly recommend!

Everything We Give is the final book in the Everything trilogy; it’s bittersweet to have the series end...I feel like these characters are friends...people I truly care about.. people with whom I’ve shared their joys, their triumphs, their tragedies, their sadness, and, mostly, their love. This book is a fast-paced romantic suspense story, filled with emotional highs and lows, and the twists and turns of the mystery of Ian’s traumatic childhood. Ian is a loving husband and father, but can’t move forward until he can confront and come to a resolution with his past. We’ve really watched the character of Aimee grow in this series, from being a naive young lady whose world is torn apart, to a woman who has become confident and secure. There were some surprises in this book as we follow along with Ian on his journey to restore his love and his life, and the scenes told in flashbacks are harrowing and painful. This book kept me up until the wee hours of the night, a minor sacrifice with such a fantastic story! If you have not read the first two books in this series, stop everything and read them before you dive into this one...you will thank me later!

Kerry Lonsdale gives everything away in this final book in the EVERYTHING trilogy, EVERYTHING WE GIVE. Questions involving an enigmatic woman, the mystery of her name and her identity, and her connection to Ian kick off what is a fast-paced and sensual story of suspense. Like EVERYTHING WE KEEP and EVERYTHING WE LEFT BEHIND, books one and two in this delectable and layered series, EVERYTHING WE GIVE is the frosting on the cake, delivering more than one surprise and a total knock-out punch of an ending.

This is the long awaited story I've been wanting for two years! You'll get all the feels with this one: elation, sadness, anger, happiness, karma, the list goes on and on. This book is Ian's story and readers should definitely read the first two books in the series before diving in to this one. I don't want to spoil anything, but if you were rooting for Ian in Everything We Keep, you should most definitely read this book!

Everything we Give is a hauntingly compelling love story that wraps up the lives that are torn apart, woven together, and how staying away is letting go, demanding courage, heartbreak and the joys of unconditional love. This is book #3 of the Everything trilogy and I am still swept up in the emotions this beautiful book gives, making me cry, making me sigh with contentment, and loving the way love is played out in so many forms. Ian's tragic past is told with alternating chapters, tying him to the present day and his love for Aimee and Caty which made my heart beat faster with each new event. Amiee's love story is also continued, the paradox's are sharp in each others characters journeys. I was totally immersed in this book, the authors lovely prose and rich descriptive details of the Galatian Horses of chestnut, with the sunlight on their flanks, galloping away kicking up dust and the way she described a curtain in the window, bellowing like an ocean surface. I could just feel those images as if I were right there...so captivating is this book.... I didn't want it to end.

This book was such a satisfying ending to the three-book “Everything” series. My heart broke at times for Ian, but I also really enjoyed learning so much more about his backstory. I love how Lonsdale tied everything together, but didn’t do it with some nice neat little bow. In the long run, each character got to tell his or her story, and by the end of the entire series, you were able to piece everything together.

I loved the added elements of Ian‘s career as a professional photographer and assignment to photograph the wild horses in Spain. Very interesting!

This book shines a light on mental illness, and specifically from a family member/child’s point of view. That also was very interesting, albeit heartbreaking much of the time.

If you’re looking for a great series, definitely pick up the three Everything books. You will be completely engrossed in Aimee, James/Carlos, and Ian’s story. The three of them are intertwined in more ways than one. You will get all the feels, shed some tears, and be riveted. Enjoy!!

Loved it! My favorite of the three, although they were all quite enjoyable. Sad to see the series end, but Lonsdale gave us a finely wrapped up story which answered many questions pertaining to Ian's history and the closure between Aimee and James. I'm excited to see what Lonsdale has next up her sleeve! Well done!

Do NOT read this review (or even the synopsis of the book), until you've read Everything We Keep and Everything We Left Behind. This novel contains major SPOILERS for its predecessors. If you're not planning to read Everything We Keep (even though you totally should because it was incredible and an instant favorite of mine in 2016), then, by all means, go ahead with this one. However, it will definitely make more sense if you read Everything We Keep first, followed by Everything We Left Behind.

Review may contain SPOILERS for the previous novels, so proceed with caution.

I loved "everything" about this novel. The pacing, the settings, the dialogue, the emotional tugs, etc. I really enjoyed getting to know Ian and seeing Aimee through his eyes. Aimee even got a few chapters of narrative, which allowed me to get back into her head and remember why I liked her so much from the first novel.

Readers will learn some interesting and disturbing things about Ian's childhood, growing up with a mom who was mentally ill. My heart broke for him so many times throughout the past and present. It made me love him even more than I did in Everything We Keep.

There are enough recaps to allow me to remember where things left off in the previous novels so that the story could move forward without being confusing. There was one point I did get confused about something from the second novel, but after it was explained to me, it made more sense.

I have a funny story to go along with this novel. I was reading a part where they mention Galicia, Spain. I then went to work and on my screensaver, there was a picture that was photographed in Galicia. What are the odds?

It was interesting to learn more about Lacy and where she came from, but I also felt her explanations were a bit anticlimactic after all the build-up. I was glad to get some answers and closure for the characters though.

Overall, I loved this novel and really wish Kerry would continue the series. I want to live in it a little longer!

Some casting I did for Everything We Keep,* plus some more for this novel, which would make an even more incredible movie, even on its own.

Ian: Emile Hirsch *
Aimee: Hallee Hirsh*
James/Carlos: Skylar Astin*
Thomas: James Wolk*
Reese: Phoebe Tyers
Sarah (past): Betty Gilpin
Stu (past): Taylor Kinney
Lacy: Nana Visitor
Ian (kid/pre-teen): Mason McKenzie

I loved the first two books in this trilogy and have been waiting patiently (not too patiently) for the final book. WOW - what a fantastic book. To get the absolute most enjoyment out of this book, you really need to read all three books in order.

Everything we Keep was mainly Aimee's story, Everything we Left Behind was James' story and Everything we Give is Ian's story - and what a story it is! Even though Ian is a successful photographer with a wife that he loves and a daughter he adores, he is haunted by his younger years and a mistake that he he made that drove his mother away and destroyed his family. With James back in the picture and a major photography trip for National Geographic, Ian has to decide whether to ignore his past or try to fix his past mistakes at the chance of ruining his future.

Everything we Give totally wraps up all of the issues from the first two books plus gives us a close-up view of Ian's life. This was a fantastic book and the perfect ending to the trilogy.

Thanks to the author for a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Ian is living his best life, he’s an award-winning photographer, married to the love of his life Aimee, raising the cutest daughter and and off to a big job.
But out of nowhere comes James. Not only does Aimee seem off since her ex showed up but he also offers Ian an opportunity to find his missing mother.

The one mistake he made, that destroyed his family and left him to raise himself, has been haunting him through all of his adult life.
But solving this mystery could cost him everything…

This book is giving me such a hard time.
I kind of love that Ian gets his own story. Because he has been so perfectly sweet and deserves it. And his family’s story is as spectacular as the whole James and Aimee story was in the first book.

But I feel like their story should have been concluded by now and Aimee’s behaviour ruined this one for me. I got it in the first book but now it feels just irrational and not in the least relatable. And therefore Ians way of being too understanding just made me mad.

Also even though it was really good, the story about Ians parents felt kind of out of place and having James deliver clues to Ian feels too coincidental.
I did enjoy the whole trilogy but now the ending left me a little unsatisfied.

I was fortunate enough to get an advance reader's copy of this gem of a book.

Once again, Kerry Lonsdale captures the reader from the start. The characters we've followed through the first two story lines develop further and we gain insight into who they are based on their history.

My heart broke for Sarah and the childhood that Ian was robbed of. Kerry paints a vivid picture of the beauty of the love Ian and Aimee share that allows him to truly overcome that loss.

I thoroughly enjoyed the twists of the story surrounding Laney. But I won't be a "spoiler" for those who haven't read the book yet.

If you haven't read the first two books in the series, do it! Then put the icing on the cake with this one!

Have you read Lonesdale's Everything series? I particularly enjoyed this latest and final installment about Ian, a man whose childhood mistake cost his mother her freedom and destroyed his family. Now a successful photographer and happily married with a family of his own, Ian must decide whether to take the chance to find his mother and learn the dark secrets of his past, when doing so might cost him everything.

The Everything trilogy comes to a bittersweet end with Everything We Give. In this final book, readers get to know Ian's story. Told in alternating chapters from Ian's childhood and the present, we learn of his growing up with a mother with mental illness and a father who was away too often because of his work. My heart broke for Ian as he tried so hard to help his mother. That's quite a burden for one so young and not fully understanding her illness, but he grew up to be a caring and loving man. One can feel his love for Aimee spewing from the pages, and also the anguish he felt for not being able to care for his mother. It made me love Ian more than before. There are a few surprising twists in the book that made a lot of things make sense. I love how this story came together and am so sad to see it end. Kerry Londsdale's writing is exemplary, and Everything We Give is everything I was hoping it'd be: a very satisfying read with characters that I will miss.

The end of the Everything Trilogy is here! You will not be disappointed with this book or how she wraps up the series.
I loved the characters and it's been a joy watching the characters grow and evolve.
Ian's childhood was difficult. His mom dealt with mental illness and as an only child, Ian felt it was his job to take care and protect her. Unfortunalty her mental illness was more than a child could handle.
Ian's journey to landing his dream photo job, making amends with his wife, James, his father and finally his mother brings his story full circle.
I am sad that it has come to an end. I just loved these characters!

*Everything We Give is the third and final installment of the Everything series. I highly urge readers to read the first two books in chronological order before reading this one, to avoid spoilers.*

This book is the perfect climax and denouement to a wonderful series! We've read Aimee's story and James' story and now to tie both of those up: Ian's story.
Ian's story touched me to the core. The first two books were also touching, but there was something about reading about Ian's past, about the lost little boy trying to keep his family together, to take care of his mentally ill mother, and all the dangerous situations that her mental illness landed him in, that spoke to me. He was just so alone. It explains why he loves Aimee so much, what she and Caty mean to him, and why he is still so adamant he wants to find his mother.
James, Aimee and the mysterious Lacey Saunders all contribute to this story. Readers finally find out the connection everyone has to one another. These characters and others introduced in this book are realistic and relatable. The sadness and reality of mental illness is portrayed to full effect. Ms. Lonsdale's rigorous research into mental illnesses, as well as her knowledge and research of the Rapa des bestas in Spain is apparent, as it has been throughout the series.
This is a very poignant and beautiful story that emerged from heartbreak. I think it's my favourite of them all, a truly fitting ending to the Everything series, as sad as I am to see it end.
Highly recommend!

If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. That is just how much I loved the conclusion of Kerry Lonsdale's Everything series.

Readers (myself included) have begged Kerry for Ian's story since Book One (#TeamIan), and let me tell you, Everything We Give was worth the wait...the long agonizing wait!

Ian's story is quite powerful. Kerry writes with such detail that you can feel all the emotions Ian is feeling. It will bring you to tears and make you smile. He is one of the strongest male leads I have read in a long time. He has such an intense love for his wife Aimee, and their daughter Cat that most would dream for. How he ended up this strong is nothing short of amazing.

This book will leave you with a nice book hangover, and definitely still wanting more - though this does tie the series up very nicely.

Kerry is one of my top go-to authors and with Everything We Give, she knocks it out of the park once again!

She won’t tell me what, though.” “Who said something to her?” My voice is as cold as the chill that’s settled in my chest at the mention of his name. “You didn’t know? James. He’s back.”

Ian devotes most of his time to his photograpy,he is the most passionate about capturing images that means dear to him. Despite the fact that he has an adoring wife Animee, he is more in tune with the pictues that he does for a living and it has granted him opportunities to do things across the globe that he never would have done if he was in a different profession. However despite his growing love towards it, he still wonders if his wife is as supportive. The history that the two share wtih her ex is a rocky one and somtimes he questions if he is enough. Ian's childhood is one that he will like to forget but he cannot help but wonder if his jealousy towards Animee history with James is a reflection of his abandonment as a child due to his motther negillence. The two tie together in this epic drama love story about confronting your demons even when the demon may be yourself.

This book actually surprised me...That does not happen often because I was guaranteed to not read any more of Lonsdale worka after reading Everything We Keep, I was not impressed with that novel at all. It was nothing like my favorite book, Everything I Never Told You but I pressed on because I wanted to give it a chance. To be honest, I don't even rememebr the content of her previous book, as it was that forgettable. I understand that this was a triology but I only enjoyed this one and the first one, so there were a lot of gaps to my overall understanding of this novel.

However, the one thing that struck out to me was Ian's childhood. Reading through all that trauma made me rate this book so high because it was so touching. I really loved Ian, he was my favorite character in this book, I felt so sympathetic towards him. I wanted to hug him constantly, he loved his mother so much deespite how she treated him.

Splendid consistency, amazing characterization and a beautiful ending to this trilogy.

This was one of the rare novels that surprised me to enjoy only book three and book one of the series.

Everything We Give by Kerry Lonsdale is a beautifully written finale for this wonderful series! Even though this is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone book without any problems. Of course, you need to start with Aimee's story in Everything We Keep! This third book in the series features Ian, Aimee's husband. The story is very emotional and heartrending in scenes from Ian's youth. I do not want to post spoilers, but I felt the author captured the difficulties and conflicts within Ian's family with a very respectful skill. When the mother in a family has a mental deficiency or illness, the whole family dynamic is off-balance. The story is carefully crafted to reveal the understanding and love Ian has for his mother when her detrimental actions are beyond her control.
Aimee is the love Ian has longed for all of his life. Aimee has had some heartaches in her past, but she has confidence in her love for Ian. When James comes back to talk with Aimee, things do become a bit tense. I was so worried! And Ian leaves!
Ian needs to go to Spain for his biggest assignment ever, and he hopes to secure a coveted cover with National Geographic magazine. There he meets up with Reese, a woman from his past. Uh-Oh!
I would be remiss if I did not mention the trip to Spain and the wild Galician horses. The author writes of the pride of the villagers as they keep a tradition alive and interact with the herds to keep the horses healthy. When the Rapa das bestas festival is over, the horses are sent running wild and free!
All actions lead to a reaction. The story reinforced being respectful of the requests of others, even when we disagree or maybe do not understand why we are being asked to refrain from a certain action. Sometimes loving a person is not enough to help them in the way they need, but we can always be respectful of their inabilities to change, and love them from afar.
Everything We Give is as powerful as the first book in this series!
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I wanted to like this book, really I did. However, I felt like reading it was like a marathon. I started out with lots of energy, ready to conquer it! Halfway through I felt exhausted and didn’t know if I would make it through or if I should just duck out and pretend I never tried. By the end, I was just desperate for the finish line, gasping for breath to survive as I tried to cross it.

Trilogies are sneaky.

When you are a person who doesn’t like to quit on a book early, there is somewhat of a commitment in starting a trilogy. You start reading the first book, knowing that if it’s really bad, you don’t have to read the second. Oftentimes, however, the end of the first book hooks you, and you decide to go for the second. (You can justify a slow-moving first book as the author just trying to setup the main story, whether it be introducing characters or establishing the world.) You might finish the second book kind of neutral, but by that point, you are 66.666%, so why stop there? Then, you trudge through the third book, wondering if you are some sort of sadist for embarking on this boondoggle to begin with.

Though that scenario is not true of all trilogies, it was true of this one. The characters were flat and there wasn’t enough action to make up for it. This third book was no more exciting than the first book, and I kind of wish that I could get back the time I spent reading it.

Why two stars? It’s not everyday that you read a book about characters that have serious mental health issues. I am always supportive of raising awareness and reducing the stigma of mental health conditions.

I have torn through each of the books in the Everything series very quickly. I'm invested. I love the characters, I love the story line, and I especially love the way that these books shed light on situations and issues that oftentimes get swept under the rug in today's society. In the first book, I fell in love and cried with Aimee as she sought out her lost fiancé. In the second one, I got to know her fiancé, his dark past, and how he was going to shape his future as a man who lost several years of his life due to a fugue. And in this book, I fell in love with Aimee's husband, Ian, and the way that he loved his wife and his daughter.
I wasn't sure I was going to like Ian's side of the story because we learn so little about the intricacies in his character in the first two books, but it was fascinating to learn about his past and the people who influenced him throughout his life. He is a complex person with a complex past, and I had a much larger appreciation for him after finishing this book. He came out of tough circumstances and instead of letting them ruin his life, he let them shape who he was for the better.
The most captivating part of the story to me was learning about his mother and her multiple personalities. I have never known someone that lives this way, so it was interesting to learn about what it is like to live with someone who shifts from one persona to another. And it sheds light on how scary that can be for someone, particularly a young child.
In the end, I think this book was the resolution that all the characters in the series needed. I still think there's room for another book from Sarah's point of view - fingers crossed we can squeeze one more out of Lonsdale!
