As the book started, Wendy gave money to Peter, who was begging on the London streets. Almost immediately thereafter, Wendy was ordered to clean up vomit in an orphanage where she works.

This is NOT Peter Pan. Though the writing seems adequate.

I'm giving this one star even though I have not completed it so people are warned.

This was hard for me to get into. I’ve never read a retelling of a book before so it was different for me. I kept picking it up and putting it back down to read other stuff but then I finally picked it up again this morning to finish reading it and it was that bad. Everything in Neverland is built and created by Peter and the boys and their emotions, at least that’s what I got out of it.

The boys and the pirates all get along and play games together so that was weird to read.

But overall, the book was a decent read.

A Delightful Take on the Classic Story

This book was fun, fast-paced, and full of enough fantasy and science fiction elements to make readers of both genres happy. Flauding stays true to the original Pan character, while somehow making him more likable. Wendy is a complex character with a strong backstory and the pirates (Captain Hook especially) are a delightful surprise. This needs to be made into a movie!

This is an interesting retelling of Peter Pan with magical twists. The writing is well done and the characters are interesting and well developed. I read this book with my ten year old granddaughter and she enjoyed it as much as I did. I look forward to reading more fairytale retellings by this author. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This is such a great book for those who remember the original Peter Pan story. I love this new take with gadgets and games that make the fantasies real. It. is an excellent read for the middle school kid in you.

Peter comes up to the grey world to search for his shadow. When he meets Wendy by chance he is determined to take her back with him. Wendy’s life is in upheaval, her mom is in a comma and The children’s home she works for is possible closing. Neverland is amazing and soon her responsibilities are forgotten but something does not sit right with her. Can all play be good?

This remake of Neverland is an adventure book geared towards teens and young adults. It is creative, interesting, sweet and chalked full of action. The characters are well developed with interesting and have somewhat kooky personalities that hold your interest. The narrative describes Neverland an amazing place full of possibilities and creativity and no worries. The goal is to have fun and every day new games are played. I like the fact that the characters started to become more self aware as they overcame obstacles both internal and external. This book peeked my interest for the series and I look forward to the next one.
