Zara is in her first week of Spy School Academy and her whole life has been flipped upside down as she is about to learn that not only is the "dad" she grew up with and thought was her father - isn't and because of that someone wants her dead. Zara always knew she was different from a mother for an actress and a dad as a baseball sportsperson. She wasn't sporty like her brother and she wasn't an actress like her sisters. Zara though is about to learn in Truth - that her biological father was a spy and one of the best. Zara is in Tokyo with her new team on a mission that was supposed to be a test, but now it seems that they have uncovered an operation that is over their heads. This brings some of the team from an earlier Spy series that Scarlett Haven wrote- remember Gage, Brett, etc? We also see that Sebastian and Serenity ended up living a HEA as a power spy couple. Now that the bad guys know about Zara's connection to Zach, can the pair stop them as they are now hitting Zara where it hurts - her little sister Charlotte. This was a fun YA Spy series that hints at Reverse Harem. I have to admit I was a little disappointed as I know this was a 12- book series and I went onto Amazon to find Book #3 Toxic and the series no longer exists on amazon :(.

Still needs a huge amount of editing. Honestly the guys are so basic I don't remember shit about them and I can't tell them apart. Zara continues to be a Mary Sue and there is no character development with her at all.

*queue James Bond music*

Truth is the 2nd instalment to the Zara Chronicles. They are novellas so they are great for a quick read. They are a slow burn RH and at this stage still haven’t admitted to each other they have feelings even though it’s obvious. This book is Zara’s first espionage mission which is supposed to be fictitious however stumble of something a bit bigger than anticipated. We also end in a bit of a cliffhanger setting up for the sequel.

Just gets better!

Zara fonds out why she's at Spy School and its a doozy. She handles it with ease and all while working on a mission that was just suppose to be a school exercise. Yeah that didn't happen. This book ends with us wanting more and cant wait to read more about Zara and her guys and eceything else. Toxic is going to be awesome!

Close encounters

U liked that the truth finally came out about Zach. I felt bad for Sara because of the drama. However her family seems amazing. The fact they are there for each other really helped.

Light, fun easy reads.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

The first assignment ends in a crash

Terrific. The relationship between her and the five boys is getting stronger (I can see a RH angle bearing down on us) and she's just been assigned to the team, on a temporary basis, for their first assignment. Tokyo! Their chaperone is Zach, the person on who's orders placed her at the school. The assignment is to follow a couple as it's believed that they have links to the mob. However what they discover is that it is far more serious. Gun running! Her finding a clue missed by everyone gives them more information. Now they have been ordered home as Zach, who has confessed the truth, won't put her in harms way. The boys take a vote and go with her. A plane crash, sabotage, concussion and a note in her baby sister's backpack. Who is after her? Are they part of Spy School?

Second part is even better

Paras brains and inner strength truly shine in this book and make you want to be a female James Bond with her own group of sexy men. This book does a great job of getting to know more about Zara and how her mind works and why she was special enough to get into spy school. The mission is one that is believable and the situations she encounters in her life relatable somewhat. Cannot wait for more on her and the guys in her life.

Exciting series and great second book!

Loving this series! Zara and her “team”, Stefan, Cam, Tristan, Austin and Dylan are all on an assignment in Tokyo when it becomes more involved than expected. The entire trip is very revealing. And since returning to Spy School, things are heating up even more and Zara is already in danger...in just her third week of school.

Amazing story. Mediocre writing

So far The Zara Chronicles has been intriguing and slightly addicting. However, the writing leaves a little something to be desired... Contractions are an important part of an author's work....they help with flow and let's face it - no one speaks that formally.

A trip

Truth follows Zara and the guys as they take a trip to learn things in the field. Zara also learns more than she bargained for.
Again, it's a short book, but it's good. We learn more about the characters as they interact more with each other. The spy school setting is fun to read about as well.

Yay

I enjoyed this slow burn RH. One star lost of for the shortness of the books, and how predictable it is. Sometimes though the predictable stories are the best. I love the guys and she is a no tap out limitless girl.

Short and sweet

I really like the characters. I also like the plot. I am looking forward to the next book. I hope the team's relationship progresses more soon. I can't wait to see what that looks like.

Keeps you guessing and wanting more

You just get so sucked into this series. You never know what’s going to happen. And the confusion of a teenage girl in new surroundings keeps you hooked when she tries to make decisions.

The plot thickens

And the plot thickens. This one wasn't as quick but definitely still fast paced. Lots of things going on, not least of them is figuring out emotions. No cliffhanger but definitely no resolve either.

Good

This second book in the series is pretty good. The negative continues to be the lack of character individuality development outside of Zara, the main female lead.

Great Book

In this 2nd book of the series we get to know more about the characters and how they are building relationships with each other and the book ends as a lead into exciting stuff to come in the next books. I cannot wait to read all of this series!

I'm judging myself for reading this for the 5th time when it's finally settling in how bad the writing is. I think I excused it before because I got some enjoyment out of most of this series, but I can't lie to myself any longer. I love the idea of this series, but the writing is just awful.

Aside from that, I think what bothers me the most is that they literally call their school "Spy School" and I can't even be sure that it's just a nickname because there's no official name given for the school. Even the adults call it "Spy School." 😭

The book just feels like a chapter - it is that short.
