Brighten Magic Academy held its set of challenges, but it didn't prepare us for the one year as Brighten Elite.
A year has passed since my boyfriends and I made the executive decision to join the Brighten Elite. Not only did our experiences during our year away strengthen our use of magic, it reinforced the bonds in our relationships- both with me as a male and female.
With a more confident attitude and power to go along with it, we're back at Brighten Magic Academy for our final year, but not everyone is pleased with our return. Students are dying, professors are going missing, and someone is out to ensure I stop breathing before I reach graduation ceremony.
Not to forget my primary goal: to find the organization that is keeping my loved one imprisoned to lure me into whatever scheme they're hatching.
Being a male showed me a different side of life, and with it came benefits that would help me end the brewing war. With Logan, Nixon, Braxton, Maximus, Kage, and Zane by my side, we will show our hidden enemies what a true Mage Warrior can do.
Will we prevail before we walk the stage of our graduation ceremony? We're about to find out.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
After a year spent working as Elites Jewel and her men are heading back to Brighten for their very last year before graduating. Before they arrive attacks and murders start happening to the professors making it necessary for their group to have to fill in to take care of the gaps. I have to admit it is an extremely interesting school year as we get the answers to all the questions that have been percolating since book one as well as the epic conclusion to the awesome trilogy. Absolutely amazing book that I could not put down. If you like fantasy, magic, RH, M/M, and so much more then you should try this set. I totally loved this one so I give it 5/5 stars.
First off, this series is amazing! So worth taking the journey. Second, although I absolutely loved this series and enjoyed this last book, I feel it could have been slightly better. There was definitely more tell than action. I did not really enjoy skipping days or weeks and nothing coming to show from it. I also feel that compared to the last books, Jewel/Jinn's relationship with her harem was a little weak. They didn't show them together as much and the few times they were, it wasn't much at all. Their relationship got stronger towards the end, but I still would have loved to see them together more. And although Jewel and Jinn are the same person, there was more Jewel than Jinn and I honestly missed Jinn a lot more than I thought I should. I was actually looking forward to see Jinn with Nixon, Braxton and Logan. I had been excited for it since the last book, but was slightly disappointing when it did not happen. All-in-all the book is great! Worth reading and I was satisfied with the ending. Am excited about the tad bit of info at the end of the book regarding a prequel of some kind! Looking forward to it!
This book suffered from lots of tell and not enough show. That is not to say the previous books in the series were anything but mediocre, this one was just especially bad. Also the author has an obsession with gaudy clothing. Pass on this one.
Tear real freaking tears this book was so epic this is deff fav from yumo i am absolutely awed but the love between jewel and the guys especially Nixon and Logan i love how much they have grown since book two jewels new elite friends..the ending was very satisfying the series end good no questions nothing such a perfect end to the series I’m waiting for one these book to end with a baby tho lol which doesn’t happen FYI
This book started out confusing. They kept talking about their year as Elites, and I figured I must have forgotten some of the last book, but it just kept going. So many anecdotes and explanations of things that had happened in the previous year. Basically, the series jumps a year between book two and three. I figured there must be a spin off or something, but couldn't find anything. (There is a prequel novella mentioned at the back of the book, so it's coming, but it would have made more sense if it already existed) There were some kinda important changes, would have been nice to have seen them instead of just having to be told everything from the past year. Some parts are a bit rushed, and a few of the guys didn't have a lot of time in this book, but everything wraps up nicely in a HEA. Nice little twists and emergency plans thrown in there kept it enjoyable and light, even when dealing with some heavy issues.
A year has passed since Jewel Starfire and her guys joined Brighten Elite. Now after a year of successful missions as mage warriors, they are back at Brighten Magic Academy for their final year where they will balance their time as 3rd-year students and assistant professors. With a new string of murders involving professors, they will also be involved in finding the killer. Jewel also has to get her magic strong enough to rescue her father once the team has a plan in place. There's a lot of responsibility before graduation but the team is stronger and more confident than ever and can face each challenge thrown their way.
I am a huge fan of Yumoyori Wilson's writing. It's creative, exciting, and her characters are always so lovable. having said that, this is my least favorite of her series. Cue the boos! I know I am in the minority with this opinion. And that's all it is. My Personal Opinion. The writing is still good, the story exciting and steamy, the characters lovable. My issues; I support anti-bullying but have felt from the beginning that the message was too heavy-handed. It was so extreme and felt like we were beat over the head with it. If a prestigious academy had such violence, it would be closed, forget anti-bullying campaigns. I'm also just not a huge fan of characters switching sexes. In this book, I made the exception because it was vital to the storyline and the contrasting perspectives were interesting. However, in my craziness, I still managed to get insecure for Jewel when it seemed as if Nixon was more interested in Jinn. Yes, I know what I'm saying.
Anyway, that's where I am coming from series-wise as I review this final book. I once again didn't like the tone at the Academy. More people dying, yet classes planned, as usual, the students were disrespectful to the assistant professors, and everyone's language was completely inappropriate for any school setting much less a highly acclaimed Academy. Jewel seemed more immature this book. Her confidence came across as arrogance and when she was sent to rest for her own good and for the welfare of her team, she disregarded the orders. The first half of the book was a struggle for me. I liked the alone bonding-time with Jewel and her guys but that was mostly it. Luckily, the story picked up once school was back in session. It was suspenseful and exciting. The magical twists were wonderful. Jewel's confidence became expertise and the key revelations open so many new possibilities. Alice was her usual beautiful, loyal badass self and the men were all their usual loving, over-protective selves. As much as I enjoy their sexy activities, I really love the time they spend together talking, shopping, playing, and relaxing. Emily was at times funny, at times over-the-top, and always fierce. I did love her doll and the way she frightened the guys.
I am excited about the future for the team. Jewel, Logan, Nixon, Braxton, Maximus, Kage, and Zane as Brighten Elite should be quite the adventure!
After the conclusion of the second book, Wilson could have gone a number of ways with the plot. So it's a bit of surprised that Wilson has chosen a path that allows us to return to Jewel and the boys with a few changes. It's an interesting direction that allows everyone to shine and the story to move forward without a hitch. It's bittersweet saying goodbye to Jewel. She has been quite a character and her male ego Jinn hasn't disappointed either throughout the series. Everything is tied up nicely and you won't forget in a hurry Jewel after this book.
She shows why we love her in this novel. Not as a magical user, girlfriend or daughter. But as a human being who is ready to do anything to save the day or just give someone a smile. She is the type of lead you want in RH, she isn't afraid to show her weakness or strengths. It's a real credit in this novel and it's pleasing to see that in action with everything going on. It's a good conclusion to the series, paced nicely to allow us get a feel for everything and it's sad to see her go. This series was one of first few that made me fall in love with this series so I desperately hope for more RH like this from the author in the future.
Spoiler free, as usual! For those who don’t know, this is the final book in this trilogy. As a final book, it’s fabulous – the author provides a delightful return to Brighten Academy, even more in depth looks not just at the characters, but at the family dynamic and strengths, the will driving each one. It answers questions that have been raised, and gives resolution to some of the bigger character driven plots that have driven the series. However, I have to say – I would’ve enjoyed seeing more of the character’s time away from Brighten, as opposed to them suddenly coming back as ‘Elites’, some of what they went through was covered through explanation and flashbacks, but there are a few interesting aspects that seemed a bit glossed over. That said, I absolute love how the author balanced the strength and power of the characters with newfound insecurities and trauma from past events. She does a marvelous job keeping my attention and keeping me rooting for Jewel and her team of men, I just wish the book could have been longer, so I could have enjoyed it more! Four stars solely because there were a few aspects I think could have been extended upon to make it better, as there were a few things left seemingly undone, in my mind.
Sorry no spoilers included because I really dislike when other people give away all the surprises that’s hidden within a book, which is downright rude when they do it!! This book omg this book was freaking amazing! So many emotions all throughout this whole story that I’m actually exhausted from that emotional roller coaster ride! But it wouldn’t be a book that Yumoyori Wilson wrote if it didn’t send you through an emotional wringer, that’s why her stories are so amazing and that is because of the way she’s able to tear you apart and then put you back together. She’s an brilliant mad story weaving genius with the way she’s able to create the masterpieces that she writes! So yes that is a big freaking HECK YEAH I most definitely recommend this book because I thought it was absolutely fantastic and I think everyone should read this whole series and get completely lost within the pages of the story that’s being told!
Spectacular ending to Jewel/Jinn's story! After the team's year as Elites, they return for their final year at Brighten Magic Academy. Not all is well at the school though, teachers and students murdered and missing. Not only are Jewel and the team going to classes and teaching and dealing with some bullying from students, which Jewel handles EPICALLY!! They are trying to save her dad and bring down the organization hunting Jewel and holding her dad. They also find out what is so special about Jewel and why the organization wants her so badly. Fantastically written series, fabulous characters and storyline, amazing detail and so much love between Jewel/Jinn and her/his team! Absolutely love this series and this is a phenomenal end to it!
I will say that I was initially really disappointed that this book picked up where it did. It jumps quite a bit in time from the ending of the second book. It takes place in year 3, while book 2 ends at the end of year one. That second whole year where they’re Elite Warriors is just passed over, although the characters do bring up events that occurred during that time.
Anyway, besides that it was a pretty entertaining book. Definitely has a HEA ending, which was awesome! I really enjoyed the relationship growth between the characters that occurred in this book, and the arrival of a few new characters was definitely interesting. That ending was crazy entertaining, it was so action packed and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
Once more, Jewel Starfire and her guys kick some major butt. Upon returning to Brighten they learn there have been a few more murders. Something, or someone fishy is up to no good. Thankfully with Jewel's mighty logic brain she starts to see a pattern. Is Lark back and up to no good, or is there a new big bad in town? Now that Jewel has started to master her powers, will she finally be able to rescue her father? A couple new friends join her motley crew, and a few secrets uncovered....including one whopper of one about Jewel herself. Once again this book is filled with intrigue, secrets, awesome and amazing kindle kick butt females, a tiny dragon named Rex and a feisty familiar named Alice. All in all a rollicking good time!!! Here's hoping there's more to come!!
Reflections of Us is the third and final novel in the Brighten Academy of Magic Series. It's a story of being confident in who you are, loyalty, love, and how much bullies, in any form, suck. While the main characters certainly go through their fair share of major trials and tribulations, the love and devotion Jewel/ Jinn have with their mates really overcomes every obstacle. The story was thrilling. There were twists around every turn and I had no idea how big it was until the finale. It's just so great to read a love story that's full of acceptance no matter what. Unconditional love, it makes my heart so happy. Definitely a must read!
Reflections of Us is part three in a beautiful series. Now I love Jewel and Jinn but this book started slow for me. I also wasn't as focused as I normally am. So I blame myself. But I'm glad that Jewel and her men no longer boys are able to come together. I can't wait to see what comes next. I am curious as to how Jewel will use her powers. How will her men continue to share her while on base? Will her mother's help ever be back to 100 percent? So many questions. But how does Jewel interact with the other ladies in the various series Yumoyori has. Again great job.
A fantastic end to the series! The story starts out with some time passed from the second book, which took me a second to realize because all I wanted to know was what happened between book 2 and now book 3?? Which lucky for us, there’s going to be a book on it! So no fear! But Book 3 is awesome because it wraps up all the problems our friends have been having throughout the series. Lark? We’ll see what happens to him. Jewel’s dad? That gets taken care of too. How to balance six guys at once? That also gets explored…in detail ;) This is a remarkable conclusion to an awesome series and you won’t be disappointed!!
I always dread reading the last book in a great series because I never want it to end but I managed. This is a fast paced paranormal RH, with hot steamy sexy scenes. Expect a bit of MM, MF, & MFMM and a HEA ending. After a year in the Elites, Jewel/Jinn and their harem are more magically badass and it’s time to set everything right again. Obviously with every twist and turn you have to expect a bit of the unexpected and go with the flow and hope to gosh you make it. Jewel is more present in this book than Jinn as it becomes more accepting that Jewel is Jinn and she has 6 amazing boyfriends.
I loved this series so much! All the characters became like family. Jewel/Jinn and her team or harem or guys were a fantastic dynamic with each having their own wonderful personalities. And of course the familiars, Alice (sooo awesome), Kota and Rex. Gotta love sweet bunny Rex! This book was so exciting! So much resolution and closure. And how great that Meredith, Emily and the triplets had a much bigger part! Loved every part of it! And I am over the moon that there is going to be a sequel series! I really didn’t want their story to end! Yay!
A perfect and inspirational end for this Series! I mean OMG I'm still speechless and stuck to the emotional rollercoaster ride it has taken me onto.
Especially this last installment shows why Jewel/Jinn should be loved: she's not only a magic user working hard on her skills, an understanding girlfriend or passionate daughter but also a magical being who' s ready to do and sacrifice everything to save others without looking for praise. Even if it means Not only showing strength but also her weakness and vulnerability.
It's an out of this World series I've re-read already about 4 times and it's still captivating every f*cking time!!
Ok 👌 and OMG 😮 how I love 💖 this book 📖 this series is brilliant if you haven’t read it yet and are looking for something to get your teeth into then this series is a MUST 😊 Jewel 💎 is a kick arsing beautiful no crap 💩 kind of girl 👧🏽 who has enough sparkle ✨and magic to heal and protect all that she 0loves 💖 her 6 lovers and familiars 🐰🐉🕊🦉are all amazing and show how much they love and care for Jewel 💎 by helping bring down the evil 👿 organisation 👏🏾 this book 📖 has everything you need steamy scenes , love 💕 , anger 😡 , fighting , and laughter 😂 another great book wrote by the awesome writer Yumoyori 😍
OMG THIS SERIES IS SOO FREAKING GOOD! Med/Fast Burn with a great story!
Even though it is out of print you can still find it online to read. on Freenovels and EPubbub. If you like (Willow's Forbidden Pack, #1) by Avery Song, you will like this book series too.
FMC is a witch and can change her gender to go to an all-male school she goes to (read for full story) where she finds her men that we learn all about and seriously love all of them.
It was so worth finding the publications online because I've wanted to read this series for over a year. Wish I would've been more stubborn sooner to find the books.
This is the conclusion to the Reflections trilogy, and while I am sad to see the series end, it sounds like we will get to see more of the Jewel/Jinn and her guys in the upcoming Brighten Elite series :) in this story, Jewel and the guys are back for their senior year and there is more murders happening on campus. There were a couple times, Jewel went a little rogue and I would have liked her to be working more with her team, but I did understand her motivations. Overall this was a great end to this trilogy.
I absolutely loved this trilogy! Sense I have read the witchling and SSS series before this one I can see the similarities with in them. For example, Jin reminds me a lot of Jack’s kind of mixed with Connor. This series is full of realities that are so relatable. I love how it took time for Zane to figure out who he could trust. It just showed how people can lead you astray and how you can’t trust everyone and that’s a test we all have to go through in life. This was funny, action pack, full of emotions, and just great overall. Yumoyori rocks!
What a amazing end to a amazing series!!!! Jewel/jinn and their guys have just spent a year as elites and are now back at school for their final year, where bad things are happening and it's up to jewel/jinn and the guys to put a stop to it. Yumoyori has written yet another amazing book that sucks you in and refuses to spot you out until you are done! So yes I recommend this book! Get reading and have tissues at the ready!!
What a very epic ending to a truly fantastic series!! Exciting and full of drama from the outset, Jewel has a lot on her plate, as well as balancing her men and their needs she has murder to solve classes to teach, lessons to learn and her father to save! Fast paced with a great storyline I was glued to the page running through a whole load of emotions as Jewel does her best to overcome all the obstacles she faces, excellent series and a grand finale!!
This is the last book in the series and clears up all the questions.
It’s been a year since the last book and all the relationships are solid. It’s great to see Jewel happy with all the guys. There is sexy times and relaxing times in the middle of much action. She is still working on her power and rescuing her dad.
All the questions are cleared up and had a great ending.
Such a great end to one f*ing amazing series! I binged all three and let me tell you... HOT! HOT! HOT! Loved this series sooo much! It talked about teamwork and the importance of standing up to bullying. Also don't care what anyone says as long as you have real friends who love you for YOU! Bravo Yumoyori for writing such an inspirational series! 😘 I received an advanced copy for my honest review.
So, I started off loving this series from the first book and that love has continued to grow. I can't get enough of Jewel/Jinn and her guys. I am so sad to see the story end, but I couldn't have wished for a better ending. There was action, explosions, new friends, and sexy times. I loved seeing Jewel get what she wanted after all of the hardships she has been through. The ending was great and I loved that little tidbit at the VERY end. Overall this is a must read story!
OMG! What a great ending for the beginning of Jewel’s life. Loved the interaction with the guys and the fact you can see their growth through each book. Can’t wait for the next adventure as mage warriors. We finally get an explanation for what happened with her father and with Gabriel also she finally gets the closure she needs. Many adventure and steamy plot awaits you. Go start this trilogy !
This book moves into the future. It does make your head spin slightly. However, we are gifted with see some of the mysteries explained. Intersecting story lines are making their way together. The only problem I can see with this is that there was such difficulties in the last book that seemed to be ironed out so fast. We don't get to see those parts so it makes it difficult to understand the characters emotional relationship changes.
From the day I started reading this series... Not a second went my where I didn't enjoy it. I laughed, I cried, I got angry, felt at peace, and was on edge... I felt everything that our leading lady felt... And I f***ing enjoyed every minute of it... I am so happy that there is more to come... Thank you so much Ms Wilson for such an amazing book...
