1.5 stars rounded up solely because I liked the MCs.
I'm so sadly disappointed in this book. It's certainly not what I expect from Aria Grace, who is one of my favorite authors.
First, let me just comment on the cover.... These people do not look like the people that I just read about. Not at all. Though that is a minor thing in my opinion. No matter the cover I still expected a well written, well edited, decently proofread story but it failed on all accounts.
Honestly, I'm hoping that I somehow accidentally received an earlier version of the book and not the version that was actually supposed to be published. Not only does it contain many errors... spelling errors, wrong words, missing words, extra words, etc. but also it was lacking in follow through on important issues.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
The version I received is a re-release titled Professor Omega.
Once again, we are brought back to the Café Om world, although this story involves the Omega House more than the cafés. This is a very sweet second chance, May/December romance, where the omega is the elder of the two.
Coop has been interning with StarX in the city during the summer. On his last night before heading home, he has some time to kill, so he decides to go out. He ends up at the local Café Om, and due to a mix up with his order, he happens upon an older, but very attractive omega. One thing leads to another, and a one night stand ends his time in the city.
Ash is a professor of omega studies at a religious university. His life is turned upside down after a one night stand with a young alpha, whose last name and number he neglected to get. When his circumstances change, he reaches out to his good friend Marge at the Omega House about potential jobs. It just so happens that a year after he met Coop, he started teaching at the university he attends.
Although after reuniting, Ash is nervous about being around Coop due to the professor and student situation, he still has something important to tell Coop. However, after a misunderstanding, the inappropriate relationship is not really brought up much except by a student of Ash's.
Slight spoiler here, but it probably needs to be said. There is some drama that could be a trigger, attempted violation, but it's not graphic and doesn't get far before being stopped.
There is some friction between Ash and his brother, which is never fully explained, but part of it is obvious. There is also some drama surrounding the pregnancy, but our characters get their HEA in the end.
Happy reading!
* I received an ARC of this book and I am leaving my honest review. *
PLEASE READ FIRST MY RATING SYSTEM!!! To my ratings (thanks to amazon I had to change it again and 'upgrade' it a little bit. 5* is now 5,5* and my old 3* is now a 4*):
5,5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like 'Liberty' from Seth King, 'Save the kids' series from EM Leya or 'Jesse's Smile' from Angelique Jurd), it's like an A+ 5* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books), it's like an A 4,5* - it's the place between I really like it and I love it, it's like an A- 4* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an A-B 3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, but not really an often reread book 2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartly, but it was ok) It's like a C-, D 1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, unlogical, NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
An amazing alpha/omega story. I really enjoyed the premise and storyline of this book. It has some wonderful characters with a little angst but a satisfying ending. The world the story is set in sounds wonderful, a nice university location though would have been nice to read of some outings to local places, restaurants, parks etc. Ash is a strong, independent omega which I love reading though he's not shy about when he needs the love and care of his alpha. Kind of the same with Coop. He's strong and independent but more than happy to show his need and love for his omega. Sylvia sounds freaking adorable and the support of (most of) Coop's family helps them both so much as it obviously means a lot to them. The omega house which Ash is involved in sounds like an amazing place, support omegas with anything they need but also giving talks on caring for themselves and knowing their needs and wants are just as important as an alphas. A good setting for future books?..... I'd definitely recommend this book and will be looking for others from these authors. I received an ARC and am happily providing a review
I loved this book and I could not put it down. It is well-written, entertaining and all of the characters were interesting. The age difference between Ash and Coop is acknowledged but does not cause any angst for either of them which is a refreshing change from most May/December stories. I also love how Coop treated Ash as an equal and that their relationship was important to both of them. Ash spent a lot of time helping other omega's and his acceptance of himself gave them a great role model. Coop's joy of being a father and his willingness to adapt his life for Ash and Sylvia was my favorite part of the story. I didn't like the lack of closure on the attempted rape of Ash by three students. There was a mention of a trial but that was it and I hope this is dealt with in a future book. I liked all of the secondary characters, especially Coop and Killian's mom. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I was given an ARC to review by the author's.
This is a really enjoyable younger alpha/older omega Mpreg romance with an undertone of a “second chance” & it is a splendid addition to the “Café Om Love” series. There are some character crossovers but this book can be read as a standalone. The plot is entertaining, well-thought out & written, it kept my attention. The characters are well-developed & interesting with their emotional feelings & moods. The secondary characters offer good support. There is: a young alpha (Coop) was looking for a good time & a one-night stand before leaving for home & approaches a older omega professor (Ashton aka Ash) not realizing the unexpected consequences of their night together, a judgmental university, a omega house, drama, surprises, manipulations, misunderstandings, confrontations, verbal banter, sibling disagreements, threats, attempted sexual assault, discovery, complications, surprises, happiness, love, bonding, steamy scenes & a sweet happy conclusion.
A well written and enjoyable story. Sort of a second chance, because the main characters come back together and build their relationship after a one-night stand. That one-night stand had lasting consequences for the omega of the pairing. The path to true love is never easy, but it was satisfying to watch Ash and Coop work through everything thrown in their way.
As characters, loved how Ash and Coop were written. The age difference is alluded to, but it’s not the main focus here. There were a couple of occasions were things felt like they were skimmed over, and I would have liked the authors to give us more information about what the final outcomes were. Otherwise, I really liked this story.
Sweet and adorable, pretty much the entire way through!
Coop and Ash meet and have a one night stand. They don't exchange numbers, but neither can forget the other. Ash ends up pregnant, but can't find Coop again. Coop returns to the town to look for Ash, but he has already moved. Fate brings them together a little less than a year later when they find each other again.
There is pretty much insta-love between these guys, but they had already had such a connection from that first night. When they found each other they didn't want to let go again. Once Coop found out he had a daughter, he was all in and stepped right up to be dad. It was very heartwarming.
These two were super cute together, and I loved reading about them and their family.
Another great addition to this wonderful series and can be read as a stand alone, although I recommend the whole series. Ash, an omega, and Coop, an alpha, are wonderful characters who had a one-night stand and never expected to see each other again. But Ash was left with a lifelong reminder of that night. They run into each other again 1 year later, and now you'll have to read this wonderful story to find out if and how they get their HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Nice gay male alpha/omega mpreg romance about a hookup that led to a baby and a relationship. The mistreatment of omegas stands in for discrimination of women, minorities, and gay people (at least that's what it seemed like to me). There were a couple things that I didn't like. Some plot points were abandoned when they had served their purpose. Proofing was poor as well. Typos: missing apostrophe on contraction (shows), but for by, extra t in doting, Killian once spelled Kilian, right for ring, well for while, I for me (left Coop and I alone), Google not capitalized.
Professor Omega is the seventh and final book in the Cafe Om Love series Harper B. Cole. This is a sweet second chance romance between an older Omega professor and a younger grad student Alpha. There is a secret baby, appearances of old friends, and sweet but heated scenes. Cooper and Ash have great chemistry and an adorable story. Definitely a great story to close out this segment of the Cafe Om Love saga. I will miss these characters but am glad I got to read about them all.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
Coop and Ash did not have it easy from the start. The authors obviously were very determined to make them face plenty of obstacles, starting from age gap, going through a series of curve balls thrown at them. But it was all worth it :) The MCs are very relatable and well described, the secondary characters support and enhance the story in a perfect way. You cannot help but go through this book once you've started. It's a great page turner :)
For being relatively short I didn't find any gaping plot holes or questions left unanswered.
I did appreciate the accuracy when it came to the scenes with Sylvia. I've read sooo many widely inaccurate descriptions of parenting that it is a breath of fresh air.
There were a handful of typos that caught me up on occasion but they were simple one missing letter or word.
Sweet omegaverse mpreg. Ash and Coop were both likeable characters. And even though this was age gap, which I usually don't like, I liked this pleasant surprise baby story. I would have liked a more detailed punishment for the villains in the story, after the drama, it seemed glossed over. Even with a slub plot of omega's as 2nd class citizens and violence against Omega's, This was a very low angst. sweet story
4.5 stars. A cute, slightly sappy love story that blooms a year after a one night stand. Omega professor Ash reconnects with much younger grad student Coop who discovers he is a father. University politics, alpha privilege, new jobs all play into the plot, as does a second daughter. Family issues also help describe the two main characters. The Cafe Om connection is brief, with the story being more age gap and parenting. Cole writes an entertaining tale with great scenes of heat and love.
When a reader opens a Cafe Om love book, you in essence know what the ingredients are. Alpga omega, night if passion , speciation, reunited, bigotry and a lot of hot sex .
This book is no different, but Harper writes them in a way that each is different, maybe the characters are adorable. Or maybe sometimes you need a bit of positive consistency.
I have read 7 if the Cafe Om books, and still hooked .
I loved this book! Often times you read a book about a one night stand ending in a pregnancy and the couple struggles to find their way. That is not the case for Ash and Coop. From the very beginning you see the devotion they have to each other and their daughter. I greatly enjoyed this book and highly recommended it!
Another good read from the Cafe-Om world. Very much a May /September romance. I liked Coop when he appeared in Killian and Marcus’s book and despite his youth he’s very mature and a good match for Ash. This one had conflict in the workplace, troublesome pregnancies, a little family conflict and lots of Love.
The story between Ash and Cool was really looking as if they were not going to be together. Then Ash ends up pregnant, made to resign, and, he moved to work at a college in a different city. Here he and Coop reconnect and their lives truly start. A Must read.
A good book. Would have been better if the author concluded the conflict between Ash and 1. Charlie 2. the Provost and 3. the school. Even with those dangling ends, I enjoyed the story and would reread.
This was better than I thought it was going to be. For a story about a character that was hardly developed in the previous stories it really made progress. It also is a very sweet age gap love story that makes a great addition to the Café Om family.
This book was kind of good but couldn't keep my attention. The author sometimes doesn't way too much time on certain details that really didn't matter in a 191 page book.
