Two more episodes in the Virgin River Series. The first is the story of Marcie Sullivan and Ian Buchanen. Having run into them in later books in the series it was nice to get to read their unique story titled A Virgin Christmas. The second book in the anthology tells the story of local vet Nathaniel Jenson and Annie McCarty. I am pretty sure that I had read this one before.

Two Virgin River Christmas stories in one novel, a real bargain! I found this in a stack of books I was going through to donate to the library book sale and realized it didn't seen to have been read yet the cover blurbs seemed familiar. When I began reading I decided it was worth reading again since it was so enjoyable.
The first story "A Virgin River Christmas" is an uplifting but sad story of a young widow's quest to find the man who saved her late husband's life during the Iraqi war. Ian Buchanan hasn't been seen or heard from in over two years and she wants to let him know Bobby has died and to thank him for giving them three more years together before he died. However, Ian doesn't want to be found and thus begins Marcie Sullivan's determined hunt for her husband's best friend.
"Under the Christmas Tree" is about a box of abandoned puppies, Nate Janson, a vet, and Annie McCarty who rescues the pups. What could be more perfect right? Need I say more?

Two stories in one book. The first one was the best! The second one was a short Christmas romance.
In the first one, Marcie goes looking for the best friend of her husband Bobby a marine who was seriously injured, lived for three years but never recovered and died. She finds the friend Ian living in Virgin River up on a mountain in a one room cabin and not wanting to be found. Ian doesn’t know what to make of Marcie who is determined to stay until she can get through to Ian her gratitude and get some answers to questions she has.

I loved the first story. A Virgin River Christmas. Great character development and story telling. The 2nd story was absolute trash. ( Under the Christmas Tree) it read like a middle school girl wrote it. I have a hard time believing this was really Robyn Carr writing at all. Do yourself a favor skip the second story.

This was super cute and sexy and Christmasy and all the feelings of a warm hug!! I liked the first story better because I loved the process in which the two main characters fell in love whereas the second one felt rushed. Granted, it was shorter than the first one but still, I liked it a lot too.

2.5 stars at most. The first story was 3 stars, but DNF the other short story. First story was an ok read. A bit old school and kinda bland. The 2nd story just wasn’t going anywhere and couldn’t keep my attention.
