Olympian Challenger #2

Olympian Heritage

Hope used to believe in science and facts; until she landed on Mount Olympus and discovered that magic and myths were very much real.

After being crowned the Gods' heroine, she must now become their emissary. For centuries, the Gods have been isolated from the human world, which threatens their immortality.

Hope becomes their best chance at eternal survival and she's sent off on a quest to find the Fountain of Youth.

If she fails, she loses everything...but winning may very well mean the same.

description

Olympian Heritage continues this amazing saga as Hope's story unfold. After all the crazy events of book one's finale, Hope doesn't really get much time to get herself together as she's hurled into another life altering adventure.
From the guidance of the Pyhtia, she's tasked by the Gods to venture to Earth to procure the means of mending the divide between Olympus and Earth.
Unwilling to go alone, Hope devises a way to get the gang back together for this new adventure with Gabriel, Amy and a besotted Eros accompanying them.
Things between Hope and Kieron has been... Frosty. The cutthroat ways of Olympus finally got to Hope and she began to question everyone's motives.
The adventure on Earth has so many crazy twists and turns and spans many countries. There is so many startling revelations and about Hope's true Heritage.
I commend Astrid Arditi for cleverly crafting the story with so many interesting storylines, Reading Olympian Heritage was never a bore.
As usual, the book is seeped in so much intriguing mythology. The action is superb as the heroes are always thirst headlong into it.
I am really excited with where the story went and by the devastating ending (I'm pretty sure as usual things won't go according to plan) I can't wait to see what book three has in store for us.
I loved Olympian Heritage and I happily recommend it, lovers of this series will definitely come to adore it as I already have.
A nice blend of magic, action, romance and mythology, Olympian Heritage is a worthy successor of a stellar first book.

P.S: There's a new enigmatic character Kaiden, watch him 😜.

I just love books about Greek mythology. Hope struggle to find her strength in this one. While also try to do what will make you happy and what is right. Kieron shows just how far he will go to prove his devotion to Hope. This have some very unexpected twist. Can't wait to see Hope plan her revenge to the gods who thought the are untouchable.

(Source: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to Astrid Arditi.)

I am huge Greek Mythology fan and having been chosen to review not one but both books in this series has been a privilege. Unfortunately, this one is past due, because of my school. I am a graduate student and this is my final year, so it is kind of hard for me to find time to read lately.

“No one must know about us. Not even your friend.”
I shrug. “I’m not sure there’s anything left to know.”
Kieron whirls toward me. I think he’ll yell at me, but instead he grips the back of my head and crushes his lips against mine. When he finally lets go, I can’t remember my own name.
“In time, you will forgive me,” he whispers. “Meanwhile, know that I’m always here, even when you can’t see me.”

I was looking froward to reading this book and I am glad that it did not disappoint me. It was cute, sad, romantic, funny and full of riddles and mischief, but when Greek Gods were not, right? I love how the author does not romanticize the gods, and presents them as faulty as they are, but I do not like that she follows the stereotypes instead of the real mythology books that came to us from ancient times, when it comes to Hades, and present him the evil that he really is not. I do not think she can fix this anymore, but my 0.2 star down is that, the other 0.8 would be our heroines obvious cluelessness when it comes to the villain, that screamed 'DANGER' since the first appearance.

“You go with Hope and flirt the pants off everyone in your way.”
Eros nods. “That I can do.”
Gabriel bursts into peals of laughter and presses the back of his hand to Eros’s cheek tenderly. “So I’ve seen. You’re a walking menace.”
“I only care about charming you though.”

I like that she was on a quest now and out of that 'Hunger Games' zone. It was really exciting that the events happened pretty fast and were not dragged. I think the whole book was about 2-3 days, or maybe a bit longer, I am not sure that the events take part for a week even in it. Although, sometimes they were kind of complicated for no reason, but they were written in a way that you kept going instead of being annoyed, so that was good.

“I’ve died a thousand deaths, watching you from afar. This gift of mine is really a curse. To see you weep but being powerless to console you; to see you hurt but be unable to protect you; to see you desired by another man; to see you smile at him; to see his lips on yours—” He shudders.
I tilt my face up to his. “The only lips I want are yours.”

I like that we were introduced to many more characters and creatures, hopefully we will be able to see them in the future book(s) even more, because Greek Mythology was not just about the Gods and humans, but the magic of it was in it magical world, with these extraordinary creatures in it. I hope to see Gabriel, Eros and ESPECIALLY Amy more in the next book, I think she'll shine there!

My lips curl in defiance as I stare at the unwitting fools who’ve just welcomed the flaw in their armor.
The time for reckoning has come, and I will be the heroine humanity needs.
Whatever the cost.

Overall, it was an enjoyable read, and I feel bad for not being able to read and review back in a day, when I actually got it! This series are good, cannot wait for the third one to come, I am wondering s that going to be the conclusion of this series?

While this book continues pretty much straight after the last, it took me a while to get into the story again. After rereading the last few chapters though, I was fully up to speed.

World building was good. This instalment takes us back to earth, the author describes all scenes and environments very clearly, so you can focus more on the story itself.

Character building was good. I had a few issues with how Hope reacted to Kieron first and Raiden second and how that evolved. I think a bit extra time for more insight in her feelings and reasoning (especially later on in the book) would have been beneficial. That being said, I loooooove Kieron! :D
Our support cast could have had a tad more depth, Gabriel only seems to have eyes for Eros instead of actually helping Hope.

Pacing and flow were very good, while the start to half of the book was a bit slower, it gave time to set all the pieces, give us a lot of information and get to know all the players on the board. Because when the pacing did pick up, the story has you well and truly in its clutches :)

The book in itself was well written and I found no (noticeable) errors. There is no sex described in this book.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and though in my opinion the first is still the best, it's another amazing book! Loved the ending so now I really cant wait for the next instalment :D

I got an advanced copy of OLYMPIAN HERITAGE for an honest review.

I wondered how Hope will get back to Earth, and now that she is threatened by Kieron's father to stay away from her mother, how she will survive the quest, now that she won the contest.

But it is from far a black and white story, so many gray areas, so many choices and none of them could be possible the right one. There is always some consequences to pay whatever or whoever she chooses. Would she save her mother and destroy a world? Or would she be defeated into saving her mother to save the world? Hope still feels like a tiny spec into the cosmos and nothing she will do, would change.

The story was set in New York and the places we went, especially the lively description of the circus, I enjoyed that one very much. Also the interaction between characters was good, especially when you are struck by Eros arrow, Gabriel has only eyes for him. The friendship between Hope and Amy, I still don't know how I stand with Amy.

At the end of the story, Hope makes a choice when she finally knows her other lineage. But is the choice she takes the right one? Will Kieron suffer or the world because of the choice she made?

We're back with hope, Gabriel, Eros, Kieron, and others in Olympian Heritage, book 2 in the Olympian Challenger series and I for one am ready for book 3.

Hope is expected to travel back to Earth and find the Well of Life to return to the Gods to restore their immortality, but she doesn't want to head back to Earth alone. Once she's back on Earth, people start popping out of the woodwork, family members, friends, and questionable people that could be friend or foe. Everyone wants the fountain of life and they will kill for it.

I loved how Arditi sent them on multiple quests, introducing new Gods and possible allies. I was happy when Kieron made his appearance in a positive light, as I've grown rather fond of him. Arditi has done a superb job telling an intriguing story with mythology. Olympian Heritage is much like a thrill ride, with loops, twists, and turns that have you racing to see what is going to happen next. I'm a bit gutted by the ending, so I will sit and wait patiently as I know there's going to be good things in store.

Becoming the Olympian's Heroine did not turn out the way Hope had expected. She now has the responsibility to find the Well of Life, on earth. Hope, Eros and Gabriel return to earth in search of the Well which will restore the immortality of the Olympians. It will also break the Fabric which has imprisoned the gods and kept them from ruling earth. Hope also brings a potion that will restore Amy's memories and enlist her in their little group to help finish Hope's task. The dilemma is that by giving the water to the Olympic gods, Hope might save her mother but condemn all other mortals and demi-gods who were trapped on earth. What is the right decision...?

I received a free copy of the ebook. I am leaving this review because I truly enjoyed this second installment.

Olympian Heritage is the second book in the most amazing Greek Mythology series I have read. I love Astrid Arditi’s writing style and her ability to create a fantastic world that opens up before you. This book continues Hope’s story as she is sent on a quest given by the Gods. Will she succeed? And what about her relationship with Kieron? How far will he go to prove his devotion to her? There are lots of twists and turns and I couldn’t put this book down. I am eagerly anticipating book three to see where this story will take us! Highly recommended!

I received a free copy for an honest review. This sequel was even more amazing than the previous book. It sucks you in from the very first page. Hope and her friends face new challenges and meet new people that keep them on their toes. Hope starts to embrace her heritage and all that comes with it as she learns who she truly is. Betrayals abound and it's hard to know who to trust anymore. I'm seriously hoping there is another book in this series because I need more.

Olympian Heritage

An exciting mythological adventure that leaves me wanting more. It was fast-paced, entertaining and suspenseful. I loved the twists and turns the story took it left me guessing till the end.
My issue was the main character but she did grow a little bit in the end so hopefully she’ll grow into the story capable woman that she could be. I just got frustrated with her at times.
I do look forward to seeing where the story goes from here and oh course I can’t wait to see more of my favorite shadow god :)
Overall an excellent book that reminded me of Percy Jackson with the hero quests and Greek Mythology but this book definitely stands on its own in a good way.

Olympian Heritage, book 2 of Astrid Arditi's Olympian Challenger series, takes you on a wild ride filled with quests, intrigue, twists and romance. Astrid has created a world in which gods, immortals and humans are all struggling to survive, each with their own agenda. Can Hope fulfill her quest from the gods? Should she? Read Olympian Heritage to find out!

Brilliant and magical

I'm in love with this series! I love all these pitiful, angry and beautiful yet ugly God's and Goddesses. Then we have our champion Hope, who's character has been a fantastic character since the beginning. An interesting storyline and incredible world building

A great story that picks up where Olympian Challenger left off finds Hope on a quest for the gods down on earth. She does have help, however, so she isn’t alone in this undertaking.

This is a great series and the cliffhanger at the end of the book will keep me guessing until the next book is released!

Astrid is author who captivates her readers with the story she has to tell and consequently the book is finished before the reader knows it. The pages just fly by.

Do yourself a favor and get started on this series. I believe you’ll be caught up in the story as I am and it’ll leave you wanting the third book to be released as soon as possible so the story can continue.

Olympian Heritage begins where its predecessor, Olympian Challenger, left off. 17-year-old Hope Diaz, against all the odds, is now the newly crowned heroine of Mount Olympus. Her next mission has her returning to Earth in search of the goddess of Eternal Life, Hebe and the elusive Fountain of Youth.

Like the first book, this is filled with so many Greek Gods and Goddesses from mythology, that it can be difficult to keep track of each character and how they relate to each other. For this reason the story is interesting, but a little confusing. The overall plot is well-written and engaging, with a few different side-quests to bulk out the main mission.

I like the fact that Hope seems to have matured a lot since book one, and is no longer the whining and moaning brat she used to be, and that we learn more about her heritage and her family. This allows for some major character development to occur.

At 4 out of 5 stars I would recommend Olympian Heritage to Young Adult fantasy fans of Greek Mythology who enjoyed book one, Olympian Challenger. However, if you’re not a fan of romance, beware there are themes of romance and love within this trilogy. Again, there were a few errors, especially the confusing spelling of the names Tiasia/Tisia - this is the same person, but not sure which name is technically meant to be correct.

I really loved the first book, I really enjoy books that have tests or challenges. But i do find the next books in the series where they do not follow the same pattern some time have trouble keeping my interest.

Luckily this book had enough going for it that I managed to finish it.I did take me a while, I kept having to leave it and came back. It didn't really feel like much happened. The last book had a lot of action, mystery and was jam packed of things to keep the reader interested. This one was a lot flatter. It really felt mostly like discussions and Hope just doing lots of thinking about things. There was a lot to like about the book but it was quite slow.

One of the resons I loved the first book was the mythology, there was lots of gods and goddesses and other creatures. But with this one, I felt the new ones that were introduced were a little confusing. I found myself getting lost in all the names.

I am looking forward to reading the third book in the series and hopefully it will have a little more oomph than the second one.

3 out of 5 stars

I must start this review with a confession: This is the second time I read this book.
The first time I read it I didn’t like it. I never felt it was a bad story, but I felt nothing. However, the truth is that, in that moment, I read the book extremely fast and I didn’t want my opinion to be influenced by this. So I decided to give this book a second chance when the third one came out.

For me this book deserves 3.5/5 stars. However, I can’t avoid recommending it as I loved the first part and I still like the base plot. I have faith that the last book will compensate all the feelings that this one didn’t give me. I repeat, it’s not a bad book, it just disappointed me a little (You don’t know how it hurts me not giving it more stars 😢).

This second book in the Olympian Challenger series starts straight after book 1, and then takes the reader on an amazing journey. If you thought you met a lot of gods, heroes and beings from mythology in book 1, just wait until you read this one - it's jam-packed with so many it's bursting at the seams!! A really enjoyable read that will keep you turning the pages from beginning until end, desperate to find out what happens... And then get left on a cliffhanger!! Can't wait to read book 3, and hopefully it will be very early in 2019 that it gets released, or I might combust from the pressure of waiting!!
NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions

Hope won the challenge and is getting ready to take on her quest. First she is gathering her allies and learning exactly what that quest is. Things sure don't go as smoothly as she would have liked, but things get underway. Along the way, she, Gabriel, and Eros rescue Amy. They come up with the beginnings of a plan and get to work. There are many twists and obstacles in their way. A few twists that I didn't see coming. Several unexpected challenges and even her father makes an appearance. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Idk, it kept my attention but I'm just not buying hopes relationship with keiron. Amy and her attitude are SUPER annoying even more than in the first book. with all this sex, drinking, sexy gowns and making out you almost forget that these are highschool
teenagers......ALMOST. I'm curious how it all ends but its definitely lacking in some areas

First Book was ok. This second book was all over the place and Hope just felt so juvenile and annoying in this book. I don't know what happened but I liked her better in the first book. It felt like we went backwards in here charter development in this second book.

Hope is back and finally gets a chance to see her mum. Wel sort off, she can see her from the shadows but thats about it right now. Right now she needs to hurry back before the gods find out she isnt on Mont Olympis.

Once back, she is quickly called to go on a quest. Promises will be made, secrets will be revealed, and Hope will face more than she imagined on this quest.

As we reach the end of this book, things pick up fast. She learns way more about herself and family than she could've imagined. Someone she cares for will sacrifice himself for her. This is a book worth sitting on the edge of your seat!
